Rivers Wilde #2

The Legend

Rate this book

Dylan Allen has done it again. I am blown away by another one of her books! I have to admit, I was a little nervous to read this book because I loved the first so much. I was worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I shouldn’t have been concerned. I think I loved The Legend even more than I loved The Legacy.

Remington Wilde is from one of the wealthiest families in Texas. Kalilah Greer, not so much. The first time they meet, they are just children. Then, they meet again as teenagers. Both are smitten, Remi especially. But it’s forbidden for them to be together. Remi’s mother would never approve. Things sort of fall apart for these two, but things always seem to come back together. Some way, some how.

As far as Remi and Kal get from each other through their story, they are never too far apart in their hearts. They are victim to horrible timing, but they never lose the love they have for one another.
“Do you ever wonder what if?” he whispers and my heart starts to crack. “Every day,” I admit, on a whisper.

I love second chance romances, but I’m a little picky on how they’re done. This was done perfectly. And that completely has to do with Remington and how he handled Kal’s situation. I truly believe these two are soulmates and I don't say that lightly.

Remington Wilde is a sweet soul, has a filthy mouth, and is one of the most romantic heroes ever. That combination was lethal. He was my favorite thing about this book. Kal was a heroine with a lot of strength, determination, and pride. Sometimes her pride got the best of her. Knowing her childhood and past, I understood why she was the way she was. These two were the best kind of pairing. Their chemistry was insane. Steam was rolling off the pages whenever they were together and the sexy times were quality, not quantity, which I always appreciate.
“Do you still burn for me the way I burn for you, baby?”

This series has that completely addicting quality. They’re the kind of books you can’t stop reading. Sometimes it’s like a train wreck, you just can’t look away, and other times you are so enchanted by the story telling and romance there is no way you can put it down. I love these books so much. Allen is an amazingly talented author and I can’t wait to read any and everything else she writes. I’m especially looking forward to the next book in this series, which will feature Remi’s sister!!

All Legends are lies but Dylan Allen is the truth!

I was HIGHLY anticipating The Legend after finishing The Legacy. Dylan Allen has a way of not only making you fall in love with her main heroes and heroines but also any secondary characters she mentions as well become just as intriguing. Remi didn't have the biggest part in the Legacy but you could already feel this strong pull towards him.

The Legend is a mesmerizing, adventurous, world wind romance with angsty feels, devastating lies, secrets & twist and turns. Remi and Kal have this strong, intense, combustible chemistry that you can feel through the pages.

You can tell Allen poured herself into this story completely because it exudes everything that is her. Brilliance, awe inspiring, riveting, captivating, emotional, inspirational, unexpected and spectacular!

Forget what you thought you new about Rivers Wilde because it's so much more than that! My jaw was on the floor with the choices these characters made and the things that they said, ESPECIALLY the tantalizingly, alluring and sexy words that come out of Remington's mouth.

"I fuck him and tell him that I love without limit and in extremes. When I comes on his cock I tell him that I love him because he never stopped loving me. When he comes inside of me, with his eyes holding mine, I know he never will . I fall asleep knowing that tomorrow, when I tell him everything, we’ll be okay."

I think this is one of my favorite covers EVER! It matches the characters and the theme of the book perfectly. 🖤💜

5 Be Legendary Stars

Dylan Allen has an amazing talent! Her books are beautifully written and never fail to take the reader on a journey. Her characters are real, lively, and jump off the page. The story is well plotted and delivered in an manner that made me feel as though I were experiencing it versus just reading the words.

Remi has been a favorite of mine since the very first pages of The Legacy. I don’t know how the author did it, but she made a legion of women lose their ever loving minds over a fictional character in the span of just a few words. And I, of course, count myself amongst that legion. Remi is EVERYTHING! He self assured, sexy, cocky, and most importantly, he loves Kal the way every man should love his woman. Perfection!

Kal, the heroine, is strong, feisty, self sufficient, and a fighter. She is a amazing character. The character and relationship development were extremely well done.

All in all, I loved it. From the cover, to the characters, to the intricate plot and interesting secondary characters, it just worked and I loved everything about it. Highly recommended!

Holding my breath while reading a book is usually something that’s saved for parts that hold much anticipation, for parts that are mind-blowing. It usually happens sporadically, right? For me, The Legend was that through and through. And the only “remi”dy was more of Dylan Allen’s words - the whirlwind of this story unraveling with each satiating word.

The relationship between Remi and Kal is riddled with complication, yet so very simple. And it is EXACTLY THAT which took my heart away. The way they somehow see themselves in one another’s lives, no matter where they’re at, gives us hope. Hope that is sometimes extinguished but inevitably brought back to life. Covering various years of their lives, Allen keeps sharp focus on their fate. No matter the complexity of the twist or how convoluted the turn, Remi and Kal end up right where they’re meant to be. Destiny places itself in it’s proper stead when it comes to these two.

Remi’s confidence and cockiness are extremely fun and sexy. His heart of gold displays his tenderness in a sigh-worthy manner when it comes to those he loves. However, it’s also those qualities that make him a fierce man. A man that is persistent and assured. He, without a doubt, gets the fire burning on all cylinders. Kal matches him blow for blow. Her candidness is refreshing and alluring. While neither of these characters is flawless or without secrets; both help bring one another to their own potential. When together, their growth is touching and heart-swelling.

The Legend is truly a captivating story. One that I feel could only come from the brilliant mind of Dylan Allen. She has brought this story to life as only she can; and has added even more excitement to an already intriguing series.

This was my first book by Dylan Allen, and it was fantastic! I can't wait to read more by this amazing author. The Legend is a second chance love story that is shrouded in secrets, lies, legends and myths. It's complicated, messy, and packed with angst and passion. I couldn't get enough of this couple, and this beautiful dreamy man!

This book is so dang good!

I have been waiting for Remi's book since I read The Legacy and I was totally worth the wait!

I love a second chance love story and this book just nailed it!
I loved the tender sweet love between Remi and Kat when they were young adults.
I absolutely lived for the angst and the heartache and I swooned over the chemistry between these two characters.

This is beyond beautiful! I enjoyed the first book but this book... Dylan Allen took it to a whole new level. I was hooked to the book.
I loved the drama, the tension, the angst, the unbelievable toe-curling attraction between Remi and Kat.

I can't wait to read book 3!

I do not know what to make out of this book. The blurp and the 30% in, promising a full angst, full drama romance. But the structure of the story is so mess up. I feel like watching a soap opera being played without ends.

The plot is unstructure. Its like the author troes to jam everything into 1 book. There is the story of the family legacy, the romance, the back and forth between Remi and Kal. Its all confusing. And the answers are all jam packe at the end. Then rush ending.

The characters are OK. I like Remi. He has this sensitive spot about him. Hey i always give a credit for a hero who can cry. Kal is typical heroine. The sex scenes are bad though. It feels being cut and paste from other books and jams it together. It sounds ridiculous.

Anyway, i give it 3 stars just because of Remi. He sounds a very sensitive gentleman.

The Legend is the second installment of Rivers Wilde Series. It’s a series of standalone. No need to read in order but keep in mind that characters from book 1, The Legacy, will be part of The Legend.

In The Legend we have sexy, cocky as hell and beautiful Remington “Remi” Wilde and inspiring, alluring and gorgeous Kalilah Greer romance. Remi, if you already read book 1, you know he is the heir of the Wilde family. One of the two most powerful and influentials families in Texas. This is a friends to lovers/ second chance romance. Remi’s dirty cocky sexy mouth will make you laugh, sigh and burn. Oh but don’t worry because Kal is his perfect match and ready to give as good as she gets.

Finishing The Legacy I was dying to get my hands on book 2 after the boom Dylan drop on us at the end. I was expecting a beautiful romance full of passion, love and lust( which we totally get ) but I was NOT expecting the turns of events that we get in this story. I ache, swooned , sighed, laughed and burned with this book.

What I can tell you about Remi and Kal’s story is that they met at a young age and their connection is instant and strong. Like lighting in the sky this two kids get struck and fuse together.

Their love is beautiful, emotional, sweet but also ardent. Lies and secrets will get in the way of their love and they will have to face the consequences of their choices.

”Is this okay? For us to feel this way and let each other go?”

Will they finally get to live the grand love they have or will outside forces will keep them apart??? I totally know the answer and I’m not telling. Wait until you guys get this baby and see all that I already devoured and loved.

The Legend of Remington Wilde is a story you do not want to miss!

The amazing saga continues in this second book of the Rivers Wilde series. While this can be read as a standalone, there will be spoilers for book 1 so I recommend reading The Legacy first. There is more family drama with intrigue and plot twists you never saw coming. There is pain and betrayal but there is also a story of young love turned second chance love story that will melt your heart and have you swooning!

I fell so hard and fast at the feet of Remington Wilde! He is the heir to the Wilde empire. He was born and raised a leader. He was sexy and confident but also sweet and kind hearted, a philanthropist who chose to live his life with purpose and use his power and wealth to help others. Raised by a mother and grandfather that taught him to put himself and the family first. Yet he chose to carve his own path and set less selfish goals for himself. Kal was the girl who helped him discover his true purpose.

Kal and Remi meet as teenagers and there is an instant connection that they both held on to despite time and distance that would separate them. This story had all the sweetness and tenderness of first time true love. Even young Remi had me swooning! Their banter was so fun and playful and their chemistry was a thing of beauty. When they reconnect as adults, older Remington was nothing short of magnificent in the bedroom. His dominance was so alluring and sensuality oozed from him. I would play hide and seek with him anytime and anyday! (you'll get that reference when you read the book).

These two have to work hard to get their HEA. Remi's mother does not approve of their relationship and her medling causes a lot of problems for them. Remi also has to be dealing with family secrets that have now come to light and he is struggling to deal with these revelations. There is so much scheming and conspiring that made the background story surrounding these lovers so fascinating.

This was such an amazing, beautiful second chance love story and I am loving the way this series is developing. With each book, the author has us wanting for so much more! This family saga is just brilliant and I can't wait to see what else the families of Rivers Wilde has in store for us.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance! It's slow paced with a good chunk of the book dedicated to their past relationship, which I'm normally not a fan of but I liked the way this played out. The hero is a former basketball player whose family comes from wealth. The heroine is not a part of that world but they fall in love one summer anyway. There's the miscommunication trope that breaks them apart but I was invested enough in Remi and Kal that I didn't really mind this. Their chemistry back then and in the present is so good and I loved how dedicated Remi was to Kal!

Not going to write a proper review, these are just some thoughts I had overall as I read the book:

↳Started off strong but unfortunately the writing got weaker as I continued reading, the story got choppy and just became a big old mess. It jumps around too much, to the point of confusion. And I’m not just talking about time jumps, I’m talking about jumps in actions and location. Like one page they are just meeting again for the first time and saying hello and then I turn the page to the next chapter and suddenly they are laying down and he’s kissing her and I’m just like “wait what???” how did they get there? This is their first time seeing each other in 8 years and you just jumped through that entire “first meet” again. And this happens a lot. Time jumps as much as “one month later” in a single chapter and we get told all these things happened, that they now have all these feelings for each other but we don’t actually SEE any of it.

↳The reason for them separating is so stupid and just ridiculous and all the repeated drama added into their story just pissed me off to the point where I just stopped even trying to fall for their story and just wanted to get through it so I could finish the book and move on with my life.

↳Also there were so many formatting issues/grammatical errors in this book. I usually let things like that go if it’s just one or two but it got to the point where it became very noticeable. That being said, this was my first novel but this author but I'm surprisingly still willing to perhaps one day come back and try another on of her books. But unfortunately this wasn't much of a winner for me.

Kalilah first meets Remi in her favourite place in the world, a library. It happens to be in his family home and he is sulking after having cross words with his mother. They are both early teens and enjoying a reprieve from the adults enjoying a party that night. They instantly bond and find they have a lot in common. However, they will not see each other again until 4 years later.

Remi lives with his twin sister, brother, mother and grandfather. They come from old money, living a life of weath and opulence. His mother is all about appearances and determined to make sure her children go to colleges of her choosing, having a career that she approves of and eventually marrying well. All carefully orchestrated by her.

When Remi is warned to stay away from a new girl that has moved into town, like most kids he wants to do the opposite. And to be fair, he is now 18 years old so not a child his mother can order around. When Remi does eventually meet this mystery girl he cannot believe it is his library buddy, Kalilah (Kal). This is just beginning of a wonderful friendship that spans the course of summer.

‘She’s got a wildness about her that’s contagious. Her imagination is full of magic that’s more than a cheap trick of the eye and she’s got a beauty so distinctive that I know I could travel the whole world and not find anyone who reminds me of her.’

Remi has never met anyone like Kal, she has him looking at the world differently and his whole life feels lighter just being around her. Their friendship develops into something so much deeper and he realises that everything that had been mapped out for him by his mother is nothing of his own choosing. He now knows what he wants to do with his life and Kal has helped him open his eyes to the possibility of doing things he is passionate about.

Until one night changes everything.

The outcome of this is that their lives end up going in completely different directions. Their paths cross a little bit over the next 14 years but they will never be able to get back the time stolen from them. Then fate steps in and Kal finds herself back in Houston, in the place where it all began. Back in Remi territory and damn if that man hasn’t gotten even more handsome with age. For Remi seeing Kal again is almost too good to be true. She is everything good in the world when he is at rock bottom in his own. He has never stopped loving her and there is no way he will ever let her go again.

However, amongst all of this Remi & Kal story playing out is a huge back story of Remi’s family secrets. His manipulative mother has played everyone in his family like chess pieces, she has caused so much trouble and heartache. Her desire to keep up appearances has had her resorting to ridiculous lengths to protect her family name and everything is about to come to home in a huge way.

The one true thing that Remi knows is that what he had with Kal all those years ago is still there, if not stronger all these years later. Even if everything else feels like it’s spiralling out of control in his life, he can trust that he can count on her love and loyalty.

Gosh, this was a fantastic second chance romance that travelled the course of 14 years to come full circle back to where it all began. I was completely hooked from the first page. I especially loved the sweet side of teenage Remi and then the sexy side of adult Remi too ☺

‘The Legend is a love story. But’s it’s also a cautionary tale. It tells you to love deeply, believe in happily ever after, but don’t try to live anyone’s life but your own. That will be your undoing. All legends are lies. Make your own truth.’

When I met Remi in the first book, I totally fell in love with him. After seeing that his story was a second-chance romance, it heightened my excitement even more. The Legend is a beautiful and sexy contemporary romance about characters who are from different worlds but fit so perfectly together. The chemistry between Remi and Kal was smoking hot and I really felt their passion. The first half of the book takes place in the past when they first met. I loved that the author decided to tell it in one big piece instead of inserting flashbacks every few chapters. This helps me in understanding the dynamics of their relationship. However, I felt like that some scenes were cut short. This confused me a time or two because I was expecting the scene to continue but it then moved on to the next day or week. And I know that the author can't go into too much detail otherwise the book probably would've been twice the size. But I just couldn't get enough of the characters and story.

"She's got a wildness in her that's contagious. Her imagination is full of magic that's more than a cheap trick of the eye and she's got a beauty so distinctive that I know I could travel the whole world and not find anyone who reminds me of her."

For me in regards to second-chance romances, I really want the biggest piece of the book to take place in present time, to fully develop the growth of the characters as a couple. That was my biggest issue with this book. Instead of fully concentrating on their relationship, Remi was more focused on solving a family mystery. Don't get me wrong, the twists regarding the family was, like the previous book, a very pleasant and intriguing part of the story. However, I wanted Remi and Kal to have more time together. I loved the maturity of how they handled things and the passion between them was amazing. I loved how they met and how their relationship came into existence, and how the respect and love for each other never went away. Remi is definitely a swoon-worthy book boyfriend. I absolutely love Dylan's writing and her characters are seriously the best. I feel a strong connection to them, and I always end up not wanting the story to end.

Couldn't have said it better myself!!
It's an inspirational story. Drives home the point again and again that you don't have to accept the situation handed to you by life and circumstances. Do everything to change your destiny. Drive hard, chart your own course and make a difference in this world.
Love yourself enough to accept love and give back the love tenfold.

description

So many youthful mistakes that throw wrenches in the budding innocent love of Remington Wilde and Kalilah. They hide from their mothers in an alcove behind the curtain and therein starts the fateful connection that will drive them Wild over the years. A climb on the trellis, an electrifying kiss and hushed breathless sentiments paint their love rosy
A beautiful summer together strengthens that tie and they're in love.
I know the magic of happy endings only exist in books and sometimes in my mind. So, when it’s over, I’ll remember this summer as the one that brought me close enough to touch mine.

description

But alas! The matriarchs- "Snakehead" Wilde and "Fly Queen" Morgan are vixens with sharp talons which they use to tear apart their love nest
Years pass and the couple meets off and on.....their paths colliding & bouncing away.
The mystery, intrigue, and secrecy that lies in their pasts comes and stands right in front of their faces again and again.
We’re not getting our happy ending.
I fucked-up.
She’s moved on.
Somewhere between those two facts is our full story.

description

Dylan creates tenacious and spirited heroines. They are daughters of Earth, holding on to familial values even at the cost of personal happiness, protective of their young'uns. In fact even the vixens are ultimatley driven to devise nefarious plans to protect their children. Sounds twisted but the idea behind their evil is still love for their offspring. A mother would go to any length to shield her kids,This sentiment particularly resonates with me.
There’s no stopping this train. We’ll all leave here different people than we were when we arrived.

description

Her writing style is poignant and stirring. The disquiet and turmoil fills the story yet she manages to create pockets of serenity for the couple for their love to bloom. This invokes in readers sympathy and protectiveness for these characters and THAT is the strength of Dylan. I was immediately attached to Will & Carlton. Their love became precious to me.
That's Dylan's forte. She not only gives us a simple story, she gives life lessons. And all this while there's teary eyed smile on my face.

And what can I say about Remi- *sigh*. A very sensible, sorted alpha. He's very clear headed, decisive and staunch loyalist. His love is unshakeable and undeniable. HE'S already THERE, just waiting for Kal to catch up and I'm like swoooooooooooooooonthump!😍😍 (pushes Kal aside and jump his bones myself )!!

description

I Loved  him soooooooo much. Where can you get a handsome, sexy AF alpha who not only loves you wholeheartedly, he supports and encourages your career & life choices even while it rips him to shreds? ....well in THIS book!
“Giddyup, stud. Take me home.”
Powerful writing with soft personal feels and I was occupied and engaged in this story from first page to the last. I HIGHLY recommend the story, you MUST READ and go reside in RIVERS WILDE even if it's all imaginary [it's NOT!]
Cannot wait for Jezebel now!!!

We met Remington in the first book & he was extremely likable in that one, This book continues the family connections but gives you Remi’s story and let me tell you, he is absolutely divine. Between his upbringing and his mother he could have been a rich jerk but he was not at all that way. He knew what he wanted & what he didn’t want and seemed to really stick to it even with all the pressure of his family’s wealth.

Kalilah Greer meets Remi at a young age and she immediately liked him but then their first meeting ended with Kal being humiliated and she had really hoped to never see him again. Instead, later, when they were in high school they became unlikely friends and the relationship bloomed from there. Kal has a strong spirit and a determination about her that you can’t not love.

These two have so many obstacles in their way and so many years pass by that it doesn’t seem as if they can survive it.

This was a very twisted storyline that does end up answering many questions from the last book and even addresses new ones but it also leaves you hanging a bit to prepare you for the next book.

"Every time we kiss, I feel weightless. Like if he wasn't holding onto me, I'd defy gravity and fly away."

After reading The Legacy I was so damn curious about Remi and his lost love which made me so excited for The Legend. And I must say, Dylan Allen delivered once again a story that warms your heart, has your heart in knots, breaks it and puts it back together even more beautifully.

"She's a siren whose call is pitched perfectly for me."

Remi and Kal are so wonderful together! I loved how this book started and showed us how the young love blossomed over one summer. I fell for both and I fell hard. And so my heart broke in thousand pieces, when Remi broke Kal's heart. The angst that was woven into the pages turned this cute beautiful young love into an angsty page-turner. Those star-crossed lovers make your pulse race with hope and wishes on how everything should turn out.

"Even in the ways that we are flawed, we are each other's perfects."

The Legend is a beautiful second chance romance about two star-crossed lovers that pulls all your emotional strings. A story about love, loss and a happily ever after that makes you swoon along every line.

Let me close this review with this beautiful quote right from the beginning of the book, which is also the perfect description for The Legend:
"The Legend is a love story. But it's also a cautionary tale. It tells you to love deeply, believe in happily ever after, but don't try to live anyone's life but your own. That will be your undoing. All legends are lies. Make your own truth"

This story is EVERYTHING. Mrs. Allen delighted us with another of her magical stories and brought to life a completely amazing couple, gahhh, my emotions are still a mess, my heart stopped beating several times because the story is mind-blowing, kept me holding the breathing and with the heart accelerated through the whole plot, absolutely obsessed with the characters.

The Legend is captivating, magical, epic, a roller coaster of emotions that makes you live and savor every laugh, tear, sigh. I cannot get enough of the characters.

I loved Remi and Kal. Remi, gahhh, I cannot with him, so confident, so focused on what he wants, so sure of himself, so sexy and fun, I loved, his tenderness and his fierce way of protecting those he loves, he is PERFECT. Kal, I loved her strength and courage to face the obstacles that life puts in the way.

Their relationship is full of lies, intrigues, secrets and obstacles, but despite everything, from their first interactions we see their intense chemistry, ufff, I got goosebumps with their passionate dialogues. As time goes by, and despite the obstacles in the way, they somehow always find their way to the other, their destiny despite the circumstance is hopeful. Their deep connection is not only physical but emotional, I loved the way they understand and support each other and how they are a vital part of another's growth. They are a couple that is destined to be.
Their relationship is intense and passionate, and the sex scenes are, wow, off charts, explosive, sexy, sweet, the best.

This is definitely an emotional story like few, full of love, intrigue, sweetness, courage, of which I can not get enough even after reading it 2 times, Remi and Kal will stay in my heart forever. An ovation for Mrs. Allen that manages to create a magical world but so real, almost palpable through the pages. I could not get enough of it and of course a MUST READ.

Amé a Remi y Kal.

So freakin good if not better than The Legacy..and I gave that one 5 stars as well. I’m a sucker for childhood friends/romance, and second chance love. I fell just as hard for Kalilah, as I did for Remi. Remi captured my heart and soul with his handsome looks, dirty mouth, and romantic soul. Evil intentions tore them apart, but nothing can keep true love from being together. The things he says makes me blush and squirm at the same time. Not to mention the fireworks that the book started with combined with roller coaster feels all over the place. This book was amazing. A feel melter. I love Dylan Allen and that is all folks!!!

This was a five-star read for the first third of the book then stuff happened and I was over it..
So much drama!!
What really pissed me off is the payoff with some of the side character actions mainly the hero's mother..she was the major shit instigator and she is not redeemed- at least for me.. nor she suffers any real consequences of her awful actions...like what is that??!!

for 57% of the book we are in the past when the hero and heroine are in high school she is 17 and he is 18 it is a summer before he goes to college.. he is a rich boy from an influential family and she is a pariah with her mother being looked down because she had her when she was 16 with a married man

then we have some in-between parts when she is 23 and he is 24 when they met again
both are in a relationship with other people
the heroine is pregnant with another guy

I am glad that the heroine wasn't celibate

and then we are in the present time when they are 31 and 32 years old..
she is divorced he is single they reconnect because she is investigating a missing person and goes back to Houston where they are originally from..
at that point, you know what will the conflict be with even though was predictable was weirdly resolved..

this was really messy and dramatic...
there are so many loose ends..
like her relationship with her biological father how did they reconcile if not how did he leave her with the family bookstore?
again his mother and everything resolving the way it did..
the mystery of his father??

Showing not telling is the way to go for me..and this was so much telling and I didn't think they were that epic love match.. hero's inner monologue was eye-roll-inducing..
sadly this falls apart for me and in the end, was just meh..

2,5 ⭐ for the first part of the book

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*

5 “Happily Ever......” Stars

I’ve tried to tame my emotions after I finished reading, but it’s useless. I’m hurting so good because of this book. After that bombshell was dropped in The Legacy (first book) I was left holding my breath needing Remi’s story at that very moment. My gosh I needed answers, and I needed them fast.

Remington “Remi” Wilde was every-freaking-thing. I fell so hard for his charm and take no sh*t attitude. He was larger than life and his heart was made with the purest gold. The way he loves is just beyond beautiful. I couldn’t get enough and just wanted more.

Kal hasn’t had it easy. She’s had to work hard to make something of herself. She’s persistent, fierce and ballsy. She’s trying not to walk the same footsteps as her mom and repeating the past. Kal is doing her damndest to write herself a future she is worthy of.

It was evident since the first encounter, Remi and Kal were destined to be together. Though sometimes it isn’t easy, and their story was anything but. But when their hearts beat in sync with the other and their souls are meant to love the other, they’re bound to find their way back to each other no matter how long it takes.

The Legend was a wild ride. Angst galore. It’ll have your head spinning at the amount of twists and turns this story has. It’s riveting and intoxicating and every bit addicting. The romance between Remi and Kal is so intense and scorching that it’ll have you feeling their chemistry through the pages. I wanted more, I craved more, I needed more.

Ms. Allen just has a way with words that she leaves you spellbound. She did a phenomenal job pouring herself into this story. She had me feeling everything. There was gasping for air moments and just as many clutching my heart moments. I was captivated by this story and it’s characters. I was completely transfixed. I can’t wait for more of this series, and I can’t wait to get back to the Rivers Wilde world.

I was half way thru this book till I got to her having a kid with another man. And then the book lost me. That screams drama and I don’t read for that. So I skipped till the end and it’s a series. Why didn’t I notice that. Ugh can’t do those. Oh and there is cheating as well. 🤨

Remi was so damn dreamy. Both when he was a teenager and an adult. He owned me. Kal fought for herself, what she stood for and her beliefs. Such a fierce woman. I really enjoyed their first meeting in the library and what slowly became a strong friendship and all consuming love. That first half of the book was fabulous storytelling. The reason for their many years apart because of lack of communication wasn’t my favorite part. It was a stupid reason. Luckily their strong chemistry and connection overshadowed that and made me enjoy the second half of the book too even though it took some time for Remi and Kal to get back together it was so worth it. Regan and her story is making my fingers itch. Very excited to read her book.

Painful family secrets, broken dreams and years without each other, can true love overcome these things? The Legend tells the heartbreaking and beautiful story of Kal and Remi. Their love is a given fact, but the road to their Happily Ever After isn’t the easiest one. I adore this book, plain and simple.
“That summer, we found something special with each other. Something, we’d never find with anyone else again. I was just a kid, but I knew it in my bones, then. I still know it, now.”

Young Kal and Remi met and fell hard, but their young love didn’t survive the harsh reality of their very different worlds. Fast forward 14 years later where Kal and Remi are both grownups with adult lives and responsibilities. But what hasn’t changed are the deep, overwhelming feelings they had and still have for each other. A job opportunity from Kal gives the couple the opportunity to spend time together, to reconnect and to find out if they can give their love another chance.
“There’s no space between us, and I could stay right here forever. “We still feel each other. Want each other.”

Remi and Kal, just swoon. They’re cute together as teenagers, and I was hurting with them when everything fell apart. Grown up Kal and Remi are amazing; they’re strong, they’re loveable, but unhappy when it comes to love. They’re ‘the one’ for each other, but life has kept them separately for years. When they reconnect, their love isn’t in question, but they do have a lot to talk about; their past, the future and what happened.

Kal and Remi are an amazing couple, and they deserve that hard-fought, all-consuming love. And luckily, Dylan Allen gives them exactly that. There were moments I wanted to yell at the couple, other times I just wanted to hug them. Remi and Kal are both products of their upbringing, which dictates their actions and reactions to a certain degree. But luckily, they also listen to their heart’s desires, giving their love a second change.
“You’re the love of my life,” I tell him. “You are the love of mine. That deserves at least a million chances, don’t you think?”

The Legend is the second book in the ‘Rivers Wilde Series’, and continues the story the has started in The Legacy. The Legend is a standalone love story, but I highly recommend reading the first book first (due to spoilers, and besides that, it’s an amazing story). The reconnection of Remi and his Kal are the main focus of the story, but the history of Remi’s family is an interesting secondary storyline. I felt deeply for all involved, and I couldn’t help thinking life would have been very different, if there has been less pride, less hurt and less entitlement.
“I’ve always been by myself.” “Not anymore. And as long as I’m alive, you won’t be again.” Be still my beating heart. This magnificent man is mine. He always has been.”

Oh. My. Gosh.

ARC Received in exchange for an home review

Ever since the announcement for this book I’ve been so excited to read it! After finishing The Legacy I just KNEW reading this HAD to happen and I’ve been waiting patiently (or not so patiently whatever) to read this beauty and gah, the wait was sure worth it. The Legend is book TWO in The Rivers Wilde series but CAN be read as a standalone.

Remi and Kal’s relationship is like a whirlwind. It’s complicated, it’s beautiful and at times heartbreaking. It’s a story of missed opportunities at love and heart ache but also one of happiness.

Dylan Allen not only cracks out an incredible book filled with amazing chapters and a storyline you’ll enjoy but she has you falling so hard for them and experiencing an insane amount of feels and loving every second of it. Dylan put her all into the book and shines brightly throughout it.

I can’t wait for The Jezebel, Dylan’s work is a thing of beauty and I can only imagine what she’s going to do for this woman’s story.

The Legend is a captivating read that you won’t be able to put it down until the very end. It’s devastating and beautiful and filled with twists and turns you won’t see coming. Most definitely one of the top reads of 2019!

They say legends never die and in the case of Remington Wilde that will always ring true! My soul will never forget the story of Remi’s and Kals love! Their journey was one full of pain, loss and lies! The water in Rivers Wilde is muddier than it looks and Remi’s journey to the truth will hopefully lead him to love he’s always desired!!

Kal is an amazing woman and one of my fave Dylan heroines. She carries herself with such grace and finds a way to pull through! Her and Remi from the start were destined for great things be it together or apart and I loved every second of the story even the gut wrenching moments!

Remi is a strong and loyal man and though he won’t admit it he’s truly a romantic softy at heart!

An amazing story with many twists and turns that you won’t want to miss!!
