USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa invites you back to the small town of Kentbury with this swoony novella where frenemies become lovers and the failed one-night stands might last for more than a season.
Everything is falling apart.
I just got fired—by my father.
My boyfriend decided I wasn’t good enough—during my Grandma’s funeral.
That hot guy I met at the bar—I didn’t get one kiss from him.
All I have left is to start a new life.
But before I embark into the unknown, I head to Kentbury.
Someone has to warn my paternal grandmother that her son wants to leave her destitute.
And who do I find instead?
Tall, hot, and delicious Bishop Harris.
My failed one-night stand.
He’s trying to run me out of town.
But between the autumn festivals, apple picking, and hard cider, things get a lot more interesting
I go from trying to avoid the small town to wondering if I can spend more than Fall in Kentbury.
Claudia is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author. She writes alluring, thrilling stories about complicated women and the men who take their breath away. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and her youngest two children. She has a sweet Bichon, Macey, who thinks she's the ruler of the house. She's only partially right. When Claudia is not writing, you can find her reading, knitting, or just hanging out with her family. At night, she likes to binge watch shows with her equally geeky husband.
Bishop is in Boston one weekend for a bachelor Party when he meets McKay. Things don't go the way he hopes, but that's okay because he gets to know her a bit. Only when she shows up in his hometown of Kentbury he's not too pleased to see her...she has no recollection of who he is at first, but when she finally pieces things together, it all makes sense.
Claudia Burgoa's ability to write a story you can’t help but fall in love with is incredible. Every time I pick up one of her books, I can’t help but lose myself in the story and this book was no different. It may be a short read but it definitely packs a punch!
What to expect: ✔️ Holiday Novella ✔️ Small Town Romance ✔️ Enemies-to-Lovers ✔️ Swoon-Worthy
I really enjoyed getting to know McKay and Bishop. It was a little rocky for them at first but as the book progressed, you could see the spark and connection growing between these two. The relationship they were building was amazing. I couldn’t help but fall in love with these two. The chemistry was off the charts.

McKay is on a mission to find her estranged grandmother in small town America. And she runs into the one person who thinks he has a reason to hate her - her failed one night stand Bishop. He is doing everything is his power to keep her away, but is failing miserably.
Bishop has these preconceived notions about McKay and when he realizes just how wrong he is, he starts to fall hard and fast. But the one underlying issue is that she will never be his. She is returning to the city and he will never leave his small town. So how could things possibly work out?
This book was short and sweet, but the author still allows us to fall in love with their love story.
Fall in Kentbury Kentbury Tales, Book 2 By: Claudia Burgoa Narrated by: Joe Arden, Grace Grant
There is something about fall and cider that is so good! Romance around this is nothing but the best and Claudia Burgoa knows it! Her story of McKay finding herself after her controlling father fires you is warm and full of heart. McKay goes to Kentbury to find her grandmother, but she finds so much more. Bishop loves Kentbury, the small town feel, the family of people he has and will do whatever he needs to protect it. After an encounter with McKay, he isn't quite sure she is in Kentbury for the right reasons. That is until he gets to know her better and finds he is giving away his heart. But will she want to stay? Is this the place she finds home in? After living life in the city, this would be boring, right? I love all the characters in this one, especially Jeannie. So grab your cup of cider, and enjoy this listen. It's quick and will win you over in an instant.
Grace Grant is McKay, and she is perfect! McKay has some searching to do, and Grant gives her the strength and stubbornness to do what she needs on her time. Joe Arden is Bishop and his protective side is out! He also gives Bishop a vulnerability that is endearing. I loved this listen and look forward to more from the series.
It's fall in Kentbury and things are about to get interesting. Bishop and McKay meet while out in Boston. He's out trying to make the night better after a boring bachelor party and she's drinking her miseries away. They're meet not so cute is doesn't go the way McKay hopes and days later they meet again in Kentbury. I find Bishop's not so nice attitude understandable. However I also don't like how he judged McKay on drunken words. These two have an instant attraction but McKay isn't ready. I love that she goes off to find herself but I'm devastated for Bishop. Do they get their HEA? I wouldn't be happy if they didn't.
This short novella was just the perfect blend of enemies to forever lovers. Ms Burgoa always knows how to make me happy by the end of a story.. but these Damien hints. Oh boy....
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
Love this sweet, small town love story from Claudia. This one is so special because it’s about a grandma and her granddaughter…made me think of my grandma and our special relationship.
McKay is out to right some wrongs from her family and to become independent from her controlling father. I loved her determination, care for others and her growth throughout the story.
Bishop initially come across as a real jackwagon but as I read the book I came to love him - he is caring, protective and a wonderful man.
This is a sweet story of discovery, acceptance and new beginnings. Feels like a warm hug.
Grace Grant and Joe Arden deliver an excellent performance. I love the voice, personality and emotion they gave to each of the characters!
Mckay is on a mission . A mission to find her estranged grandmother in the small town of Kentbury . And out of all the people she could run into while on this journey, she did not expect it to be Bishop - her failed one night stand .
Bishop seems to already know everything there is to know about Mckay . Nothing is going to change his mind that is until he truly gets to know her . Now it is game over because Bishop is falling hard . But how could it ever work out between the two of them when Mckay is going back to the city + Bishop is never going to leave his small town of Kentbury .
A super short + cute holiday novella that is just to cute !
This book was given to me for honest review by Forever + Always PR .
Landon and Knightly were amazing together. Everyone around them sees that they are a couple but the two of them just think the other sees them as friends. Knighly (Lee) has helped Landon raise his daughter Cassie and loves them both. Landon loves Lee but thinks she deserves someone better than the owner of an auto repair business (even though it is what he loves). Landon finally gets the nerve to declare his feelings to Lee after she is ready to leave town and look for love elsewhere. The characters were engaging, and the book was entertaining. This was a great holiday romance. I look forward to reading about Lee’s brothers Damian and Bishop in future installments. I can see they will be entertaining. 5 Star Review Fall In Kentbury (Kentbury Tales #2) by Claudia Burgoa Audio/eBook: Having recently read and listened to Christmas in Ketbury I could not wait to dive into Bishop Harris and McKay’s story. I quickly became invested in the story that Ms. Burgoa wove. Despite Bishop trying to get McKay to leave town, she is surprised that she wants to stay. I loved this story and the narration by Joe Arden and Grace Grant brought this story to life for me, as I enjoyed their performances. Their voices are easy to listen to and did justice to this quick story. Hopefully we get to visit Kentbury again as I am loving my visits there.
I enjoyed getting to know McKay and Bishop. They may start off a bit rocky, but they have a connection, a great back and forth that is able to grow and flourish while she figures out her place in the world. I loved them both, the way they build that relationship is a journey. This is another loveable read in this series. The stories may be shorter reads, but they are full of story. Full of characters that connect with the reader, the small town, and everything that goes into making it a must!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story will fill you with warm and fuzzy feelings. This is the magnificent story of Mac and Bishop, two soulmates with a very unlikely meet cute, that have a ton of chemistry and share a wonderful journey to self discovery and HEA. The atmosphere in Kentbury in so warm and welcoming, that I would choose to move there in a second if I could. I love how Claudia imagined and wrote this story, how she keeps us guessing until the end. It is a very very romantic story and filled with all the warmth and scents of fall 🍁🍂. I highly recommend it for any time of the year 😉
”from the moment we met, you captivated me and consumed me. i tried to resist falling for you, but it was hopeless.” ♡₊˚
this was alright! definitely gave hallmark movie vibes, which i’m a fan of. i know it’s a novella but the romance was pretty rushed in my opinion, so it was a little cringe to me. but the concept was cute; i just think it could’ve benefited from being a longer novel. there were two chapters dedicated to texts only and then a big time jump which all just felt very out of place. anywho, i did have a decent time reading this! not really a special series, but i’d be interested in picking up the other two as they come out! <3
Dnf this “lost city girl finds love with grounded small town boy” Christmas novella. Stopped reading 1/3 way in and skimmed to ending. The main characters are barely sketched out, unlikable and not much character development. McKay kept talking about how she was different from her awful family after dancing to their tune to about age 30. Bishop met her for the first time in the city after he was disappointed to not hit a strip club for a bachelor party like they used to in the good old days. After they meet again in the small town, Bishop decides he’ll “protect” McKay’s grandma Genie from McKay by preventing them from ever meeting without, you know, asking Genie what she wants. They spend a week together, she gets to be charmed by small town living, have sex, McKay needs to leave to “find herself” through travel and good works as explained in months of anticlimactic texting before the grand finale.

McKay's lost her job, her relationship, all in one week. While she's drinking away her pain, she meets a gorgeous guy who seems down for some fun. He underestimated how much she had to drink, though, so what she thought was going to be a ons isn't to be. Now she's on a mission to find her grandma, so she can tell her why her dad is such a jerk. Why oh why does her failed ons turn out to live in Kentbury, and is now her main obstacle in getting to know her grandma? He's not so thrilled to see her and tries running her out of town. Too bad for him that McKay's determined to stick around, with her grandma's blessing. Will Bishop figure out McKay's not the villain he thinks she is and realize just how awesome she really is?
Bishop's fallen hard for the woman he first thought was the enemy, but he knows better than to tell her because she's not going to be here long. She's about to set off to find her real purpose, find out who she really is. Who is he to let her know her feelings and risk clipping her wings?
Awww...what a sweet story! If a story can be a color palette, Fall in Kentbury is all the browns, oranges, reds, and yellows of its season. I was smiling the whole way through, even in the beginning when Bishop was acting like a jackass, because I just knew they were going to fall hard, and they did. McKay is adorable, and no one knew that more than the man who couldn't resist her for long. I can't wait for the next season of love in Kentbury now.
Claudia Burgoa has done it again! I absolutely loved Fall in Kentbury an incredible small-town love at first sight love story, the second book in her new Kentbury Tales series. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Claudia Burgoa continues to show that she is an amazing storyteller and continues to be one of my favorite authors to read. It was impossible to put Fall in Kentbury down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love how Claudia Burgoa always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Fall in Kentbury is filled with the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in a Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Fall in Kentbury is the story of McKay “Mac” McFolley, and Bishop “Hops” Harris, owner of Harris Orchard. McKay recently lost her job with her family’s business and her boyfriend. McKay’s father, Ulysses has instructed her to go to Kentbury, Vermont to visit with her estranged grandmother, Eugenia “Genie” McFolley and convince her to sign over her property to her father, so that he can develop it. McKay and Bishop meet in a bar in Boston, McKay had been there drinking with her sister, Lou and Bishop went after a bachelor party. Bishop escorts McKay home. McKay heads to Kentbury and stays at Knightly’s B&B. Knightly gives her grandmother Eugenia’s address, but she was not home. She then goes in search of McFolley’s Farm only to find the Harris Orchard and discovering her failed one night stand setting up for the Fall Festival. McKay then heads to the local bakery and talks to the owner and realizes that she is her grandmother. I love what she asks McKay to call her. Bishop ends up at the bakery searching for McKay. McKay moves in with Genie and helps her with the bakery. McKay and Bishop attend the Fall Festival together and things change between them, but when Bishop asks if she is staying in Kentbury, she informs him that she is not because she does not want to stay in the first place that makes her whole. She returns to Boston to sell her condo and try to figure out her future. McKay is the youngest of five and ends up reconnecting with her brother, Paul and they eventually end up volunteering in South America. I love the banter in the text stream between Mac and Bishop while she is away, especially when Bishop reveals his feelings for Mac, even though she does not realize Bishop is talking about her. McKay returns to Kentbury and she and Bishop admit that they are in love with one another. I love the conversations that McKay has with Grandma Genie and the family secrets that she reveals. I love the plans that Paul and McKay make so that McKay can have a live in Kentbury with Bishop. Another favorite part of a Claudia Burgoa love story is always the epilogues that go above and beyond the happily ever after, I loved Bishop’s proposal and the location. I love the characters in Fall in Kentbury, they feel like family and friends. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I loved catching up with Lee and Landon and meeting their baby. Who does not love a family that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Fall in Kentbury, who does not love a small-town love at first sight love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I received an advance copy from the author.
Fall in Kentbury is book two in the Kentbury Tales series and is the meet cute, found family, small town romance of Mackay McFoley and Bishop Harris. At twenty-nine years old, Mackey thought her life would be in order. She thought she’d have a successful career and would be in a settled relationship only her life seems to have gone to hell. Her fathers company runs into financial trouble so he lays off hundreds of staff including Mackay’s SEO position and her boyfriend broke up with her during her grandma’s funeral and the cherry on the sh!t sundae is her father expects her to go to her estranged grandmothers in Vermont, and despite the fact that neither Mackay nor her father have had any contact with Genie for decades, he wants Mac to convince her to sell properties so her father can use the money to bail his company out and move her into a retirement village in Boston. Furious Mac heads out to let off some steam at a bar has the perfect meet cute with the hottest guy she’s ever seen when she shouts to the bartender that she needs to get laid and proceeds to spill every nightmare-ish detail not realising he is visiting from Kentbury and knows her estranged grandmother until she bumps into him in Kentbury. Will Mackay do the right thing? And will she find herself in small town Kentbury? Bishop is attending a bachelor party in Boston that has more chucky cheese vibes than one last hoorah. Instead of going back to his hotel he pops into a bar and grill and just as he’s sitting on a stool at the bar the woman next to him shouts “I need to get laid.” Stunned by her words and beauty, Bishop is hopeful for a hook-up which is quickly thwarted when he realises, she’s too drunk and can’t consent, instead they get to know one another before he walks her home listening to her hitting on him and spilling everything about her ex, her dad and what he wants her to do to her grandmother. Bishop is shocked and more so when he comes to the realisation that he not only knows Mackay’s grandmother, but he and his siblings are super protective of her as she helped them when their mum died. Bishop advises Mac to leave her grandmother alone and leaves her to head back to his hotel ready for an early wake up call to head back home. Imagine his surprise when Mackay shows up at Harris Orchid looking for her grandmother’s farm. Bishop isn’t happy and warns her to stay away from Genie. Will Bishop be able to keep things platonic with Mackay or will he fall head over heels and do anything to keep her in Kentbury? The magnificent Joe Arden and Grace Grant gave us a masterclass in how to bring a novella to life in the most spectacular fashion. Ms Grants performance as unlucky Mackay whose life has been turned upside down was simply fabulous. Grace’s sweet, dulcet tone is beautifully alluring and was perfect to portray Mackay. Mr Arden’s portrayal of the kind, caring, protective Bishop, a man who will do anything for those he loves was superb. Joe’s deep, commanding tone was perfect to showcase the kind, protective, dominant Bishop. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard Joe and Grace together and my goodness, what a glorious duo who hit the spot every. single. time. Overall, I loved this audiobook. Fall in Kentbury is another classic Claudia Burgoa novella that is beautifully written, gives us amazing characters, set in the most splendorous small-town setting, and has the perfect amount of spice. If you love a good meet cute, found family, small town romance with amazing side characters and a great push and pull between the main characters then this is the audiobook for you.

I'm enjoying this series of short stories and its characters with each book, and it makes me very happy to know that Claudia Y. Burgoa plans to give us the rest of the characters at some point.
Fall in Kentbury is Bishop's story, he's my favorite Harris, a man who misses his party life, loves his brewery, cider and the work he does on his farm , is a good-hearted man who loves his family and experiences a great turn in his life when he meetsMcKay, a girl with a complicated family situation that arrives in Kentbury looking to connect with her roots, she's a little lost and finds in Genie & Bishop the help she needs to find herself.
These two have a peculiar and fun start: a one-night stand that doesn't go well at all, and thanks to McKay's lack of inhibitions that first day, Bishop doesn't have the best opinion of her, howevertheir connection and chemistry was beautiful, so tender and I really liked reading them finding their happy ending.

Fall in Kentbury Kentbury Tales, Book 2 By: Claudia Burgoa Narrated by: Grace Grant, Joe Arden
Claudia Burgoa pens another fabulous novel set in Kentbury, an amazing place to visit and spend time in for the small town charm and wonderful characters. After losing her job at her father’s company, McKay wants to visit her estranged grandmother, Eugenia, in Kentbury. She wants to learn why her father is the way he is. Except her father wanted her to go there for his own selfish reasons, one she was not about to do. Before going to Kentbury, she had a wild night out and over indulged in liquor. She then confided her life story to a kind man who didn't take advantage of her. When in Kentbury she tries to track down her grandmother, she meets up with him again, except he is not very kind to her, instead he tells her to leave. Bishop is just being protective of Jeannie, her grandmother, and when McKay meets Jeannie, it all makes sense. McKay and her grandmother hit it off right away and form a bond, and once Bishop got over his overprotectiveness, he realized he had a powerful attraction to her. Almost like an instant love, and as much as McKay loved it in Kentbury, she knew she had to leave, that she was not ready to settle down until she found herself. Bishop had to let her go and could only hope she came back to Kentbury and to him. I loved everything about this book, from Burgoa’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. And this novella sized book packs a lot of story, a story that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the superb narration, Grace Grant and Joe Arden’s performance enhances this already amazing story to another level. Their portrayal of the characters is spot-on and I love how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and exactly as I imagined. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
This is book two in The Kentbury Tales series and it is McKay and Bishop’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. McKay had never got on with her parents and there ways and now things have got so bad that her father has fired her from her job with his company, she broke up with her boyfriend and now her father is demanding that McKay had to go and pursued her grandma who she doesn’t know to sell all her properties so that McKay’s father can save his company with the money from them but with McKay being the black sheep of the family she might end up doing something totally out of the left field because she is fed up with her parents constantly making her feel like she is worthless. Bishop is at a bachelor party but it was not what he was expecting so he decided to leave and go to a bar and that is when he meets a woman that totally captivates him from the moment she turns to look at him but she has had so much to drink that he decides to make sure that she gets home safe and then he will walk away. When McKay and Bishop meet again in Kentbury there attraction and chemistry is still as strong but things take a turn for the worst as McKay had given Bishop too much information when they met before and she was drunk but the more time that they spend together there attraction, chemistry and connection become even stronger and more intense and when they eventually get together it is absolutely explosive and for the first time ever McKay feels like she is home but everything is so complicated as she feels like she needs to find herself before anything can work out between McKay and Bishop but again miracles do happen sometimes when you least expect them. Wow I absolutely loved this beautiful and poignant story that I read in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down and had to keep turning the pages to see what the outcome would be for McKay and Bishop and if they would get the happiness and future that they both deserve. Claudia Burgoa is an amazing author and writer and I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Audiobook by Grace Grant and Joe Arden Fall in Kentbury by Claudia Burgoa
Fall in Kentbury was sweet. A short story where Grace Grant and Joe Arden narrate. Honestly, I needed more in this story, there was so much more fun and swooning over these characters to be done, but I did enjoy every bit I could get.
Grace Grant has such a calming, yet strong and confident voice to her, and after listening to so many books she has narrated She was perfect for McKay.
And of course Joe Arden in my opinion is a perfect handsome, hard working, sweet talking Bishop Harris. Can’t go wrong with anything Joe (in my opinion)
After Makay lost the most important things to her (at the time) she went searching for answers. Answers to see why her father was the way he was, why her boyfriend left her when things fell apart and in turn to warn her estranged grandmother of what her father is up to.
The fun part about this story is when she goes out after her horrible day, has a little too much to drink and meets a hot random man who takes her home just to tuck her into bed and leave… the next time she see him is in Kentbury, unexpectedly he knows her grandmother.
I enjoyed Ana getting to know her grandmother baking with her and helping Grant with the fall festival. It’s giving major small town, leaves changing, fall vibes and I loved it.
I also loved how Grant and Ana connected right away. The cute banter and how they fell so fast for each other. They were honest with their feelings and when she had to leave town, he let her. He let her find her way, find the relationship with her brother, with her grandmother and with herself. When she was ready to find her place in this world and find her “home” she was honest with him and to see them grow together was a sweet romance story.
Claudia Burgoa is a MUST LISTEN author for me! Every book I listen to I swear I just LOVE her more and more. This is a quick listen but full of heart! I fell in love with this small town and the characters in it. Once you start this book you won't want to stop. It's such a fast paced book that will have you fall in LOVE!
The narrators Grace Grant and Lee Samuels did a fabulous job telling this story. They held my attention and kept me entertained the entire time.
McKay is sent to Kentbury to find her estranged Grandma. What she doesn't expect to find is the hot guy she met at a bar. He knows her story and why she's in Kentbury and knows her Grandma. So he won't help her and will do anything to protect her Grandma.
Bishop is protective of those he cares about and when he finds McKay here in Kentbury trying to find her Grandma (Who he knows well) he will protect her from being destroyed. But what he doesn't know is that McKay really just wants to know why her dad is the way he is and doesn't want to hurt her Grandma.
These two will have some banter and will have a few hoopers to over come but will get to know each other better thanks to her Grandma and those around them. This story was so much fun to listen to and I smiled so much while listening. You can't help but love everyone in this town. This is a must listen to book this fall season. I HIGHLY recommend it!
Thank you Claudia Burgoa for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.
I loved returning to the charming town of Kentbury, in this enemies to lovers romance! Bishop and McKay have a chance meeting in Boston and after too many drinks, Bishop helps McKay get home safely. McKay wakes up to start her journey to Kentbury to find her grandmother and then to travel the world. Bishop loves his life in Kentbury and is very protective of it and all the close knit residents. When he meets McKay again, he is afraid she doesn't have the best intentions toward her grandmother. But McKay is tired of her cold, greedy family and wants to distance herself from them and get to know the grandmother she never knew and then get to know herself. As they are thrown together for small town festivities, the heat that started in Boston becomes even hotter. They share some passionate encounters, wanting more. But Bishop has been burned before, so when McKay is leaving to travel the world, will that be the end of these star crossed lovers? I just loved this heartwarming and steamy romance. I fell hard for Bishop and McKay. Bishop was fun and charming, and his vulnerability made him even more swoony. I loved McKay's growth from only wanting to make others happy to a strong, independent woman. Their chemistry was electric, and I cheered for their HEA. This romance melted my heart instantly with it's fabulous characters, heartfelt emotions and beautiful storyline. I was completely captivated and couldn't put it down!
This is the second book in the Kentbury Tales series, and a combination review for the ebook and audiobook. Readers met Bishop in book one and here we see him in all of his glory. McKay is an independent woman who is going through a huge life change and trying to figure out her place in the world which brings her to Kentbury looking for her estranged grandmother. Bishop is a man who loves hard and takes care of his family and the small town, Kentbury, he comes from. When McKay arrives in the small town, she accidentally bumps into Bishop and the sparks are flying. Unlike the first time they met, Bishop has his guard up and is trying to get McKay to leave. One would think that these two come from the same stock as they are both stubborn and will only move when they want. Ms. Burgoa has a panache for giving readers life like characters and places them in real life situations that anyone can relate to. I loved this book and fell even harder for the talented narrators who brought this book to life. Joe Arden is one of my go to narrators and it was a happy surprise to find out he was voicing one of the characters. Grace Grant’s voice paired beautifully, and the two together brought this storyline to another level. Each narrator was able to make these characters their own and captured their emotions exactly how I envisioned them. Regardless of what medium you choose, be it ebook or audiobook, you cannot go wrong! I recommend this book and look forward to more.
Fall in Kentbury is the second book in the Kentbury Tales series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Audio: Narrators: Joe Arden and Grace Grant Style: Dual
McKay has been going through a lot – her controlling father has just fired her and her boyfriend broke up with her. She got drunk and met a hot guy at the bar, but he didn’t want to take advantage of the drunk woman, so nothing happens. After that, McKay heads to Kentbury, where her paternal grandma is, because she wants to know why her father is the way he is, but she also wants to warn her grandma of what he is planning to do. Once she gets there though, she runs into the hot guy from the bar, Bishop. He does not want her there, because he loves his small town and doesn’t want her to bring in her big city ideas.
While Bishop was grumpy with McKay, he never hated her. He was a little rude, at first, but he also didn’t flat out refuse her when she went to him to learn more about the small town. He was actually welcoming. I wouldn’t say this was an enemies to lovers situation, but there was definitely a little dislike between them. But there was also instant and undeniable attraction as well.
McKay had a lot to discover about herself before she could settle down, and Bishop was so patient with her. This was such a cute fall romance. It definitely gave off those warm, cozy, and small town vibes.
Fall in Kentbury may be a novella, but it’s packed! McKay and Bishop may have had all the “insta feels”, but it takes them a minute to reach the finish line.
McKay and Bishop meet in a bar and there is an instant connection. They go their separate ways only to reconnect in Kentbury.
McKay is on a mission to find her grandmother, wanting to warn her of her sons plans. Her grandmother, Eugenia, is a sweet woman who owns a bakery in town and is nothing that McKay is expecting. Their form an strong bond and McKay starts helping her in the bakery.
Bishop and McKay’s reunion in Kentbury starts of rocky. He!s extremely protective of Eugenia and doesn’t want McKay to hurt. She proves to,him that isn’t her intent.
McKay has a wondering spirit and isn’t ready to settle down, despite her strong feelings for Bishop. Bishop, as much as he wants her to stay, lets her go. They stay in touch with each other while McKay is traveling around the world finding herself.
It may take her a year, but when she finally returns to Kentbury, Bishop is there waiting for her and their HEA.
Joe Arden and Grace Grant narrate in dual. It was a great listen, but I think my favorite part was the text messages during their time apart. Both narrators did a great job blending humor, and a longing to be together.
Fall in Kentbury Kentbury Tales, Book 2 By: Claudia Burgoa Narrated by: Lee Samuels , Grace Grant
Lee Samuels is Bishop and his protective side is out! He also gives Bishop a vulnerability that is endearing. I loved this listen and look forward to more from the series.
Fall in Kentbury is a short novella and the second book in the Kentbury Tales series. This was a enemies to lovers story that was an emotional rollercoaster.
Bishop and McKay were total opposites. Bishop is from the small town of Kentbury, where he runs a farm, distillery and doesn't want to ever leave. McKay is from New York and a rich family. She gets fired by her father and wants to find herself and where she belongs. She goes to Kentbury to meet her estranged grandmother. She soon realizes that Bishop is the man she met in New York and let's just say this encounter did not start off very well. However, once McKay meets her grandma and learns about her father's past she has a different perspective. Her and Bishop start to become close and their feelings grow but she still wants to find who she is. Reluctantly, Bishop let's her go on her journey no matter how much his heart broke. I felt so bad for him at this moment. I understand her reasoning but did she have to be gone so long??
McKay finally makes a decision about her life and if there is a future with Bishop. I really loved reading & listening to the audio. This story made me laugh, cry, get mad and made me swoon. The narrators Joe Arden and Grace Grant did an amazing job!!
