When Dead Men Breathe

I wasn't pleased to see Mikey again, but there's something different about her this time. She's calmer, tamer... and I would never admit it, but I've grown used to her being at my side. But with the weight of the future on our shoulders and even bigger targets on our backs, we'll need more than each other for protection.
Now there’s fire in my veins as emerald eyes stare back at me. She says she’ll take me to see my parents if I do her a favor. Little did we know, that favor would uncover a blight worse than anything we’ve faced before.

another one bites the dust
This is another pretty great addition to the series. The previous book built up a lot of tension, that was then relieved in this one. The characters are getting more intense, and you don’t really even know who to trust anymore. I’m enjoying this author a lot and looking forward to what else she does.

interesting series
This is definitely not what I was expecting when I started this series but I absolutely love it! I love the mythology aspects and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

dark and interesting fantasy book.
Fantasy is not normally a genre I go for but I decided to try something new and ended up really enjoying this book. I am looking forward reading the other books on the series.

Highly imaginative.
Zeke is at it again in this latest installment in the series.
Pros:
1. When Dead Men Breathe is a blend of genres, such as fantasy, romance, thriller, paranormal, supernatural, and action.
2. K. Weikel did a fabulous job giving characters backstories.
3. The book cover makes more sense after reading When Dead Men Breathe.
4. There are great twists.
5. Creative.
Cons:
1. Enemies to lovers trope. I'm not a fan of this, but I was shocked to see K. Weikel make it work.
2. There were cringy moments.
3. I dislike Mikey.
4. Euphemisms replaced profanity, but the meaning is the same.
5. It was strange seeing mentions of the Bible in this book.
