Anthony Trimble was a 29-year-old husband, father, recording artist, and pastor when he was diagnosed with stage-4 colon cancer November 2015. For almost six years he beat the odds and battled through his sickness to continue leading his family, recording new music and ministering effectively. On July 29, 2021, he won his earthly battle and received his heavenly reward.
Anthony was an inspiration both to those who knew him well and to those who knew him only through his public ministry. He had a way of making everyone around him feel genuinely valued. He loved coffee and enjoyed spending time drinking it with those he loved. Anthony’s family, close friends, and ministry peers had a front-row seat to his purpose focused life both before and during his heroic battle. Led by Michael Ensey, they have compiled ten inspirational life lessons they observed during his exemplary life. These lessons will challenge you to live like Anthony.
The authors are not personally profiting from this book. One hundred percent of this project's proceeds will be used to support missions and ministry, including a scholarship fund in Anthony Trimble's name. The proceeds will initially go toward a college fund for Anthony's three boys.
Every time I opened to read was like sitting across the table from Anthony, for a cup of coffee.
Written by Alden Ser Voss: The service Brother Ensey refers to him preaching at Restoration Church to then visit Anthony as he asked “good questions” was in fact my first service at Restoration. That was the day I decided to call this church my new home. I moved to St. Charles, Anthony’s hometown, 29 days after his passing. I never had the chance to meet him. After understanding Anthony’s impact by hearing personal testimonies of his life and ministry, I felt the heavy grief of those who knew him. I also began to grieve at this loss, but was more remorseful that I never had the pleasure of meeting him. But after reading this book, I feel as though I have not only met Anthony, but now I feel as though I have had several cups of Picasso’s Coffee with him. Thank you to, my Pastors, the Trimble’s for raising such a world-changer. Thank you to Brother Ensey and your team of authors for allowing me to see Anthony through your eyes. May we all aim to Live Like Anthony, as he aimed to live like Christ.
Reading these first hand accounts of those closest to Anthony Trimble have inspired me to be a better man, Christian, father, husband, son, sibling, worship leader, and preacher. I’ve cried while reading about a man that I never had the privilege of meeting. An incredible life! And incredible man. His wife, Lysandra, said it best, “Anthony taught me how to die.” One of the greatest gifts with we can give is not just a good life, but a good death. Anthony gave us the gold standard in that regard!
“What struck me during that time (and strikes me still) was that he had lived the kind of life in his youth that promised the greatest of lives in middle age and beyond” (Jeremy Painter). Don’t we all want promises of great lives for our future? Anthony offers guidance through his songs and words in this book. Don’t pass this one by!
I never met Anthony in person. However, I prayed many prayers for his healing. Through the testimonies of his closest family and friends chronicled in these pages, I am changed. I want to be like Anthony. I want to be a worshipper. Death didn’t have the final say. It only magnified his legacy. Live like Anthony.
Excellent book with lessons for living an overcoming life. Thanks to all the authors who shared insights into Anthony’s exceptional life. The book made me feel that I knew him personally even though I only knew his parents and grand parents. Enjoyable read!!
