Marisol's life has been a series of disconnected moments – from fleeting jobs to short-lived relationships. Nothing ever seemed to hold her attention or touch her heart, leaving her lost with unfulfilled dreams. But when a pair of haunting blue eyes, the same ones that captivated her in high school, resurface in her life, everything changes. Eliazar, struggling to mend a shattered heart, finds solace in his photography and art. His world has been stripped of color, replaced by shades of gray that mirror his internal turmoil. But when Marisol, the girl he thought he hated but never truly did, reemerges, his carefully constructed world is thrown into disarray. Can her unexpected return breathe vitality into his monochrome existence?

This was such a fun book to read. Even though there is a slight miscommunication towards the end, Eliazar doesn't waste time trying to fix things. Marisol is very relatable and determined to find what makes her truly happy. These two MCs had their past struggles but found a way to reconnect in a non judgmental way and be vulnerable with each other. Loved their journey, and I can't wait to read more in this series.
This was an open door romance but was short in the scenes. There was definitely room for a little dirty talk, though, and that was a nice surprise 😉
Thank you to the author for giving me an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and offered voluntarily.
A sweet romance about Eliazar and Marisol who secretly harboured a crush on one another in high school while outwardly hating the other. They come together later in life as Marisol is opening her coffee shop by day, wine bar by night and Eliazar is hired by mutual friend Natalie, to do the photography for her marketing. It's an easy read, some awkwardness as they come to terms with and admit their feelings, some spicy scenes as their relationship builds and a little drama to cement how everyone feels about each other. I loved this line Eliazar says to Marisol as they are exploring their feelings early in their relationship, “We are all walking through life lost. Some are just better at hiding it than others.” Overall, an enjoyable read.
Second chance romance 💘 Latin representation ❤️ Short Novella 📕 Sweet 🍭 Spicy 🌶️
Marisol and Eliazar are everything! Nothing is better than a secret pining romance between to lovers. Marisol opens a coffee shop next door to Eliazar wine bar. Marisol’s friend hires him to take her photos for her new business in town. The rest is history once this happens. Steamy love interest. I love that Eliazar comes to terms with his shattered heart and sees that Marisol is the right person for him and they can work through their past .
3.75 stars! Super quick sweet novella about a second chance romance between a new business owner and the artist who helps her get the word out. Definitely will be reading more from Alvarez!
I had the benefit of reading my first book form Tori Alvarez which was amazing! Writing Us is a short and sweet with Latin representations, secret pining, and second chance meeting. Marisol and Eliazar relationship is hot and spicy!
Short, sweet, and steamy! I really enjoyed Marisol and Eliazar’s story. Marisol’s growth was great, especially for such a short book, and Eliazar is all the things good book boyfriends are made of. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!
