Against all odds, Cody has pulled off the first part of his plan. He’s weakened the Boss. And he’s put Luca in the collar.
Now the Boss’s smug assistant is going to learn what it’s like to be on the other side of the business. He’s going to be drugged, and punished, and trained. Luca will try to fight it, of course. Every boy does.
And every boy loses.
But this isn’t just about payback. It’s about information. Because Luca knows every aspect of the Boss’s operation. He’s the one person who could help Cody take down the syndicate for good.
The only problem is that Luca’s a scheming bastard, with an escape plan of his own. So Cody is going to have to win Luca’s trust. Find out what he knows.
I was so excited that Luca had been collared and was looking forward to much detailed torture, because this aspect significantly pivoted the plot away from The Flesh Cartel Series.
Yet what could have been exquisite revenge porn was almost perfunctory. I didn't feel much emotional tension in this book. Admittedly, the MC observed that he felt that something that connected him to other people had died, but even lacking empathy for the others, he seemed rather overconfident, without ever expressing fear at the myriad of dangers and pain he encountered. There was also very little interaction with the other slave characters this round; just throw away sentences of what was happening to the others.
This book was disappointing, compared to previous books. I hope the next book will be better....
I'm not going to review all the books in this series, but this one continues the saga of Connor AKA Cody doing his utmost to keep his brother free by playing the perfect slave boy for the Boss. I am reviewing this because of the introduction of a new character and one of the smoking hottest sex scenes in all of erotica and definitely the hottest sex scene in the entire Jocks For Sale series. When high school quarterback is broken in by the corrupt Mexican popo the Boss has in his hip pocket with a devilishly warped new version of spin the bottle..
I'm knocking off two whole stars because while the story is still firing on all cylinders, the editing of this book was beyond atrocious. I know erotica often gets rushed to publication, and the previous installments have had a few errors each that I can forgive, but this was beyond terrible. Words are missing from sentences, incorrect words are used, subject/verb agreement is apparently optional now. Lead is REPEATEDLY used instead of led, even when the entire rest of the paragraph is in past tense. (And, when you think about it, lead/led is going to be a pretty common verb choice in a story about forced BDSM). I doubt there is one page in the entire installment that didn't have an obvious typographical or grammatical error. That makes for a very distracting reading experience which is especially bad in a novel that relies on suspense and narrative thrust. I still love the series, but I don't understand how this installment declined so much in editing quality versus the others.
Still an amazing serie ! Can’t wait to read the last episode And Josh Hunter please I need Cody Jack and Nick free, you can’t leave one of them rotting behind !
