I enoyed the plot. The inner workings of groups analyzing what is happening in the world and being able to translate that into how to defend against it. Unfortunately, I see it as too close to what the current administration in the USA is doing to undermine the ability of the analysts to do these jobs properly. I feel they are too interested in getting richer and"to hell" with the unfortunate people who will be affected. I doubt whether these analysts would be able to do their jobs to protect the USA and I know that the USA is not considered a leader in the world today.

This doesn't take away from my feelings that the story is a good one. I just hope my viewpoint is wrong somehow, but I doubt it.

International Ops really resonated with me because it didn’t feel like far-fetched fiction, it felt uncomfortably possible. Seeing the events leading up to the EMP strike from a global and intelligence perspective made me reflect on how fragile modern life truly is.

What stayed with me most was the sense of tension and inevitability. The decisions made behind closed doors, the slow buildup, and the human cost all hit hard. David Danielson’s role and moral weight made the story feel personal, not just political.

This book left me thinking long after I finished it. It’s gripping, thought-provoking, and deeply unsettling in the best way.

Excellent

Great back story to the October Fall series. The additional characters made for great additions. With the NATO countries, with the exception of our normal allies, show the colors we all know they share, refuse to honor their allegiance, our remaining forces and allies strike back.

YES!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book! It is well-written, well-edited and provided SO MANY connections in my mind from all the other books of the October Fall World! A combination of a prequel, the backstory and a "parallel" presentation of the events on a large scale - this book is an absolutely MUST READ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

Fantastic

Stunning world building, could not put it down. Cannot recommend enough. Really brings a lot of new light to the rest of the October Fall world (already a top notch series in the post apocalyptic genre).

Understanding!

This story brings together the behind the scenes world happenings I’d the October Fall stories. After reading it, I now have a much better understanding of why and what happened with all the other stories. Good job! A must read in this series!

A must read in the October Falls series

Finally the back story to the events taking place on October 28th. Along with what the rest of the world was doing outside the US. Well thought out and written back story to rest of th series.

Great back story for the series

While this could have been its own series of books, it nicely fills in many of the questions we have pondered while reading the October Fall World and doesn’t take a way from the main story line.

Very interesting.

This story outlines what happens before the October Falls series. It was interesting to read the things that took place. I have not read the series yet, but plan to. At times the story was a little confusing following all the characters, but it was a good story.

Hard to put down

Exciting reading start to finish. Really great read. Telling the other side of the October Falls Series. What was the rationale and strategy of our enemies in acting the US and allies.

Excellent read

The book was almost at times almost to close to what we currently see happening. I enjoyed the read and would recommend it.
