everything i talk about will be very, very disturbing.
it physically pains me that i can’t give this book less than 1 star. i’m just gonna list why this book will forever give me nightmares. i will be adding quotes and honestly i don’t even recommend reading this review, but if you’re curious…i can’t stop you.

1. the mmc hit a bird with his car then got its blood on his hand and he licks it off😀and no, he’s not a vampire.

2. the mmc nicknames the fmc bones because she likes to collect dead stuff.
╰┈➤ while on a walk, i find a tiny bird skull with a piece of foliage stuck through one of the nasal cavities. the bones feel so fragile. so light. and the spindly brown twig sticking through it looks like it might break off one of the bones. despite that, it’s really pretty. i’m bringing it home with me. i have the perfect place for it on my dresser.
3. the mmc fucked the fmc while she was passed out from sleeping pills she had taken.

It’s not very often I read a book that leaves me at a loss for words because of something so heinous and downright disturbing. I’ve had many conversations with people in the past where I’ve been quoted saying “the darker the better”, and I feel like I’ve finally met my match with Lauren Biel.
I NEVER do this, but PLEEEASE, for the love of all that is holy, read the TWs for this one before digging in. And don’t blame me if you pick it up because of this review and need therapy afterwards. I’m broke, I can’t help you. This is my final warning: read at your own risk, this one is fcked beyond repair.
That being said, I loved this book to pieces.
Don’t Stop is Biel’s upcoming horror traumance novella— yes, you read that right. This is NOT a romance, but a relationship built upon trauma that is far from okay. The narrative tells the story of Dalton and Rayna, two lonely souls with macabre tastes, who stumble into each other’s lives and unleash untold nightmares upon predators on Halloween night. It’s twisted, it’s bloody, it’s depraved, it’s vigilante justice at its finest (or worst, depending on who you ask).
What begins as innocently offering a ride to an injured hitchhiker, quickly turns into an obsession for the ages. On one hand we have a sensitive yet disturbed MMC with a moral compass that doesn’t always point true north. On the other we have a survivor FMC that endures what life throws her way and carries on. Both are accepting of one another’s quirks, and what ensues is nothing short of entertaining: banter and some serious dark humor, all wrapped in weirdly endearing strangeness.
We all know Biel writes spice that will make you melt into a wet, gooey puddle. And we all know she likes to get imaginative with it. I gotta say…she went above and beyond here with some things that made me question her sanity AND mine. I can’t go into detail here, I refuse to ruin anything for you. Just know that this shit is deranged…and nope nope nope. Did I love it? Yes. Honestly though, what’s wrong with me?
This may be one of my favorite reads from Biel, and I always finish her books with the same question: “where do you go from here?” I don’t know if my psyche can take much more, but I’ll damn well give whatever’s next my all. I 100% do NOT recommend this for the faint of heart, because it will scar you for years to come. For those of you with a strong stomach and are in the market to shock your soul, you need this book in your life.

I wrote in another review for another Lauren Biel book (I believe it was Never Let Go) that it was the darkest and most depraved I’ve ever read.
This is no longer the case as Don’t Stop now proudly holds that title. It has also quickly become one of my favourite Lauren Biel books.
’My panties literally dissolve when I see the tall, brooding, terrifying man before me. The mask only adds to the imagery, and when he grabs the baseball bat I keep behind the door and spins it at his side, he transforms into my perfect monster.’
Dalton is probably the cutest villain I’ve ever met and I want to hug him, hold him and run wild with him. Nothing he did shocked me and Lauren Biel succeeded in creating a character so wholesome and lovable in his own twisted way that I wanted him to get everything he wished for.
’He’s just held a match to a dormant fuse inside me, and I wouldn’t mind leaving a little destruction in my wake when I detonate.’
I was a little skeptical as to the FMC being the driving force of wickedness and depravity, unsure if I could identify myself with her as I usually enjoy the books where the MMC coaxed the darkness out of the FMC.
Rayna needed no coaxing. And I ended up loving it! She is wild and truly unhinged and I loved how it influenced the relationship between her and Dalton.
’If she told me to kill myself right now, I would do it. I would bleed out for her so she can pose me like one of her grotesque little dolls in her room.’
Once again, unsurprisingly at this point, the book was extremely well written and lived off the dynamic and character development. Don't Stop is a novella and for good reason I believe as it wraps up just enough without being cut short. And there's so much happening on these pages!
”We can’t punish the man who did that to you, but maybe we can get our own version of revenge.”
Also unsurprisingly I love how Lauren leaves enough open questions to make the story work.Part of me always wonders if these relationships can survive in the long-term and then I realize they don’t have to and I don’t really need to know.
She captures the amazingly fast-paced moments with the sense of living-in-the-present that these stories imply and require.
’Now that I licked it, it’s mine’
Yet again, Lauren Biel challenges my limits. Every time I come to terms with a new found level of depravity I find myself enjoying to read, she confronts me with new depths. Don’t Stop is one of those books where I hesitate slightly before admitting how much I loved reading it. And I did.

Wowwwwww. This is one of Lauren Biel’s best. I thought LB couldn't get more unhinged, but she seriously takes it to a whole new level that even my mind couldn't conjure up. This is NOT a Lauren Biel starter book. Also LISTEN TO THE AUDIO!!!!! It’s sooooooo very worth it.
Since part of the fun in reading a Lauren Biel book is the surprise of what she’s going to think up in that crazy little head of hers, I won’t give you too many details. It pisses me off because I want to tell you everything!!!!
Dalton (24, unhinged painter with OCD, bloodthirsty) picks up hitchhiker Rayna (23-ish, recovering addict, likes taxidermy) and delivers her to the place she currently resides, but that isn't their last encounter. Seems like they've finally found their perfect match. Halloween night leads to a series of unhinged events that I can't even begin to describe. Eventually - an HEA for them - although not for anyone else they encounter.
SEX: OMG I just can’t with this woman!! We start with some incredible somno at 44% and JFC it was soooooo hot. The audio gave me a full-body shiver. You get a tasty oral moment and one more morally acceptable time at 62%. After that….. things get weird. We’re not talking normal weird, we’re talking full-throttle outlandish Lauren Biel weird. The kind that has you seeking therapy for your reading choices. There are no latex condoms used between the MCs.
FUN: This book was so much freaking fun. I laughed so hard during some of their banter. It’s on my fave list.
TRIGGERS: Bro….. the name Lauren Biel should be all the warning you need. You should know to leave your moral compass and gag reflex at the door before you open that book. I really shouldn’t list them because I don’t want to ruin the fun, but I’ll do it anyway. Don’t blame me if you lose the shock and awe factor. BTW… during a few of the scenes, the audio was so spot on that I gagged. Physically gagged.
SLAYCATION SERIES: I was sad they didn’t appear in Ship Happens. LB, girlfriend, how could you forget about the Halloween Harvesters!?!?
AUDIO: I read this the first time and loved it. I listened to it the second time and I highly recommend the audio. It was so much fun and added a whole other side to the book. It’s a duet and also a dramatized version where the background sounds are included. This is the first book I’ve listened to like that. Katrina Medina narrates for Rayna and she’s fabulous! The name Nowhere Eternity appears for the male narrator. He is freaking terrific!!! His voice DELIVERED on every level. At one point when he succumbs to peer pressure, you can hear the resignation in his voice. It’s hilarious. Then when he’s aroused and having his “O” moments – JFC I had to rewind and listen again. 100% recommend the audio.
I highly recommend.

Dalton (24, unhinged painter with OCD, bloodthirsty) picks up hitchhiker Rayna (23-ish, recovering addict, likes taxidermy) and delivers her to the place she currently resides, but that isn't their last encounter. Seems like they've finally found their perfect match. Halloween night leads to a series of unhinged events that I can't even begin to describe. Eventually - an HEA for them - although not for anyone else they encounter.
She’s elevated the level of fucked up to some uncharted terrain. Somewhere the devil himself refuses to venture into…..
SEX: OMG I just can’t with this woman!! We start with some incredible somno at 44% and JFC it was soooooo hot. The audio gave me a full-body shiver. You get a tasty oral moment and one more morally acceptable time at 62%. After that….. things get weird. We’re not talking normal weird, we’re talking full-throttle outlandish Lauren Biel weird. The kind that has you seeking therapy for your reading choices. There are no latex condoms used between the MCs.
FUN: This book was so much freaking fun. I laughed so hard during some of their banter. It’s on my fave list.
TRIGGERS: Bro….. the name Lauren Biel should be all the warning you need. You should know to leave your moral compass and gag reflex at the door before you open that book. I really shouldn’t list them because I don’t want to ruin the fun, but I’ll do it anyway. Don’t blame me if you lose the shock and awe factor. BTW… during a few of the scenes, the audio was so spot on that I gagged. Physically gagged.
SLAYCATION SERIES: I was sad they didn’t appear in Ship Happens. LB, girlfriend, how could you forget about the Halloween Harvesters!?!?
AUDIO: I read this the first time and loved it. I listened to it the second time and I highly recommend the audio. It was so much fun and added a whole other side to the book. It’s a duet and also a dramatized version where the background sounds are included. This is the first book I’ve listened to like that. Katrina Medina narrates for Rayna and she’s fabulous! The name Nowhere Eternity appears for the male narrator. He is freaking terrific!!! His voice DELIVERED on every level. At one point when he succumbs to peer pressure, you can hear the resignation in his voice. It’s hilarious. Then when he’s aroused and having his “O” moments – JFC I had to rewind and listen again. 100% recommend the audio.

i'm pretty sure i've seen this book on tiktok being recommended for dark romance readers and so i thought i'd give it a try since it also takes place on halloween night, but unfortunately it was a HUGE miss for me.
🦇 the romance sadly didn't do anything for me. i couldn't care less about the characters. for such a short book i at least need to care about them as people.
🦇 this book overall felt really forgettable.
🦇 the writing style wasn't brilliant. it was really simplistic and didn't manage to absorb me into the story.
🦇 there was no real plot going on to keep me interested, at one point it was just about painting stuff which bored me to death ngl. 😭
🦇 the word "mound" to describe a woman's private parts was mentioned 3 times on the same fucking page. my eyes burned.
🦇 the dialogue between rayna and dalton was mostly cringe. they weren't well developed as characters. they read often times as one and the same person.
🦇 i also didn't like the part where she was hitchhiking and constantly getting assaulted. basically every time she'd done it. was it for shock value for the reader or? i didn't like it at all and could've done without that. i wouldn't of had a problem if it was mentioned like one time, which would at least be realistic.
🦇 the sex scenes also didn't do anything for me. blood play ain't my thing i've realised and sex without consent especially when a person is under influence and can't say no is just disgusting.

You read enough of these books and you think you know what to expect. A little murder, masks, sex and more than probable someone gets fucked with the hilt of a knife. This one started weird, got bizarre and then went into the realms of Jesus Christ what the heck did I pick up. I went through Amazon to read this one so 'warnings on the website' was what I got. Same with the book itself. I should've read the Goodreads blurb with all the warnings.
This one starts off with a guy who likes licking/tasting blood and a girl who hitchhikes to a sober house and rolls the dice on assault, she also collects taxidermized dead things. Okay. I can handle that. Then it gets into the sleep sex without consent in which she thinks it's all a dream.
Fast forward to murder where she acts as bait so they have their victim list. Moving on to where Rayna decides she wants to fuck the dead guy. Record scratch. Uh what? So uh, yeah necrophilia. Close to the end, can't get any worse... skin another dead guy's dick so Dalton can wear it and fuck her with it. Uh nope. I finished the book. Gagged and threw up in my mouth right before bed. Not for me. Probably going to steer clear of this author. I dread to think of what I'll walk into next.

UMMM what can I say except that I’m never quite the same after reading a Lauren Biel story. I think back to my first book by her, Toxic Love, and thinking, how depressing and hopeless, but the spice is hitting… am I okay? Then came Hitched, and there was so much spitting that now I think my husband doesn’t love me if he doesn’t spit in my mouth.
Every time I read a Lauren Biel book, my boundaries are pushed farther out. I’m grateful, I’m slightly disgusted by the gore, I’m turned on, but am I worried? I’m at an point in my life where whenever she releases a new book, I’m ready to read it while eating a giant mayo sandwich and washing that down with a cup of blø0d and mystery fluid slurry. 🤣🤢 just kidding.
Which brings me to Don’t Stop. If you’re new to Lauren Biel, walk away now. This is not for the inexperienced dark romance reader. This goes beyond depraved, and I had to take frequent breaks to catch my breath and yell at my friend on Instagram about what was happening. It’s a fun little ditty, it’s super duper dark, you might need a shower or some eye bleach after this. Brilliant.

I think this might be the most twisted, dark thing I’ve ever read!!! Don’t ignore the trigger warnings—this one’s a bit insane 😅. Very spicy with some dark and twisted taboo kinks! It’s the perfect Halloween read if you’re into this sorta thing 😁. I enjoyed it, creep factor and all 🩸 it’s very disturbing 😈

Lauren Biel is the queen of dark hitchhiker romances! Each one pushes the limits, and this one brings it several steps further, entering the realm of horror romance. Absolutely loved it!
Give me all your unhinged FMCs! I can easily get behind a FMC who doesn’t require a knight in shining armor to come riding in to save the day. Rayna is exactly this – and then some!
She succeeded in bringing real character depth into such a small package. True character development is hard in a novella to accomplish correctly. And she succeeded in giving us two MCs that, while unhinged, were made for each other. I actually believed the romantic connection, their eventual HEA.
Don’t Stop is fast burn and high steam, but not for the faint at heart. Pearl Clutchers should turn away, as multiple unconventional uses of corpses, obsession with blood and death, and other darker kinks are explored.
I highly recommend this novella for horror fans!

Okay, so with Lauren Biel you expect a certain level of dark but Don’t Stop is beyond anything I’ve read by her. Trigger warnings through the roof. Forget morally grey. Welcome to Lauren Biel’s morally vantablack. Vantablack absorbs 99.96% of light.
Did I like everything in this hitchhiker novella? Definitely not. Did I cringe and shout WTF? I definitely did. But, did I enjoy it? Absolutely. The only thing I would change about this story is it’s length. Only because I would have loved to have seen deeper character development. With this being a novella, The characters went from 100 to a 100000 way too quickly.
