Rate this book
Two families. Seven generations of missed chances. Will hazel and Seth overcome the fate that pulls them apart? She never expected to leave her London boarding school with its high walls and privilege. He never though he’d have to leave California and give up surfing and soccer. And yet, both left, pulled away from their lives by fate.

They started their senior year at the same high school, both of them new and unknown. Hazel, wealthy, beautiful and brilliant, immediately became part of the most popular group; while Seth, struggling to care for his seven siblings, wearing only cast offs, was slow to make friends. They moved in different social circles. And yet, over and over, they found themselves beside each other, drawn together, despite the forces trying to keep them apart. And each time they came in contact, strange and wondrous things happened.Hazel's mother changed, becoming softer. Her father begins taking time to visit with her instead of rushing off to his lectures. Seth's mother began caring for the family, the house, and about life and laughing again. His father, overseas, is able to call more, easing the minds of all his siblings.

Strangest of all, when they come together, it feels strangely like coming home.

“The Final Strand” takes readers on an emotional journey where two courageous souls dare to challenge fate and rewrite their own story. Will love conquer or will pride and selfishness prevail? Find out in this enchanting tale of love, destiny, and the power in just a little magic.

This story was SO cute. I found myself giggling like a little girl at the little hand touches, the longing looks, etc. It took me back to how I felt when I was dating my husband- an invisible string pulling you towards each other.

I give it 4/4.5 stars because m took me a minute to get into but it’s only because I’m used to more fast paced books. I do kind of wish that Hazel knew about the curse at the beginning. I think it would have been fun to see how that knowledge could have changed how she lived.

Seth is so cute. I loved his innocence, his love for his family, and the confidence in himself.
Hazel was blessed with money, big house, but lacked in love and connection. Yet, when it came to her she didn’t run away. It was new and scary but she welcomed it.

There were so many quotes in here that struck me in my heart. The meaningful life lessons hidden in this story was so beautifully done.

Overall, a beautiful read! ✨

This book. This book! The characters are so well written I felt like they were real people and missed them when I was done reading. The plot draws you in and keeps you reading all in one sitting.

This book is about love in so many ways. The love of a granddaughter for her grandparents. The love of a brother for his family. The love of a struggling mom for her kids. It’s just beautiful.

Also. The romantic love story is so tense and so sweet and so satisfying. I laughed. I cried. I giggled and squealed.

Wow!

This story was full of feelings! I laughed but mostly I cried. Such an interesting folk tale but not, more fairy tale but not that either. There was magic but only just. I'm so happy it ended up where it did! Only I wanted to see more and where it went from there. I think I need chocolate!

This book was just darling!! I couldn't put it down; I loved every second I was reading it. I loved the characters, the emotion, and the New England Setting. I couldn't help but feel hungry at some of the descriptions of the food. This book was an overload of emotions, life, color, love, and joy that left me wanting more.

I was so satisfied in the end with all the progress Hazel, Seth, and even Mags made as people and loved the way the story was resolved in the end. I was fascinated how the Smith's and Strand's stories came together.

This book felt so cozy and cute and will definitely become an annual winter read.
