A gritty, subversive tale of love, loss and psychoses, in the digital age. Amber is a young New York native embarking on a journey of psychotherapy, self-exploration and sexual awakening, and maybe, a little bit of cannibalism. Seizing the opportunity to escape to Italy she meets the seductive and intriguing Natalia. Bound together in youthful carnality, they find themselves pulled down, into a pit, or pot, of despair. Join debut Author Emily Robinson as she leads you through the twisted, cannibalistic, digital psychosis, of Consumed.
i’m telling you to give this book a read, it’s amazing. for her first novel emily robinson did a fantastic job. this book is like if you mashed call me by your name and bones and all with ethel cain. one of my favourite reads of 2023. it’s messy, it’s gay, it keeps you on your toes. i read this book in one sitting and i don’t do that with books very often.
It's a bold and beautifully written journey that's both edgy and deeply emotional. Robinson's talent for creating vivid, complex characters and settings is phenomenal. The book tackles some heavy themes with a fresh perspective that really makes you think. For anyone in search of a read that's out of the ordinary and thought-provoking, this is it.
WOW!!! This book was absolutely stunning! Like nothing I have ever read. Is there a genre for queer horror? The authors voice is brilliantly clear, current, and so unique. I was drawn in from the very beginning and could not put it down. Disturbing in the very best way.
