Hartman & Malone #1

Trial by Sabotage: A Private Investigator, Female Sleuth Adventure

Rate this book
Anna Hartman just wanted a quiet weekend at the spa with her sister and bestie. What she got instead was an arrest warrant with her name on it.

Normally, Anna can get herself into trouble all on her own. She never expected her sister to be involved. But when Anna discovers that an FBI investigation is targeting her sister, she’s willing to do just about anything to help. Even if that means leading two over-zealous agents on a high-speed car chase.

Now, to keep them both out of jail, Anna has to clear her sister’s name. To do that, she just needs to figure out which of her sister’s co-workers is working with a dangerous crime boss to frame her. The problem is, they may have to trust one of those co-workers and his brother to help them solve the case.

Can Anna keep them both alive—and out of jail—long enough to find the source of the sabotage?

If you like unexpected, action-filled mysteries with smart and engaging characters, you’ll love Paige H. Perry’s fast-paced amateur sleuth mystery book.

Claire gave Anna the flower her BF Alex left her.
Marie Hartman (lawyer) & the other 2 were ready for a girls WE.
They stopped by to get Frankie (Anna’s sister).
An Impala was following Anna Hartman’s Mustang.
Marie told Bryant Malone (attorney) there’s a problem with the Haskell trial.
FBI SA Carver Hoage & FBI SA Renato Kamera showed up & informed the group Marie had 15 traffic violations just today alone.
Mary & John from River Networks came to see Mr. Robin.
Alex checked for all the parties inside the farmhouse were secure, then he went to hunt for Anna.

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written PI adventure book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a small description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great PI adventure movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. I thought it was kind of cheesy so I will only rate it at 3/5 stars.

Thank you for the free author; BookFunnel; PDF book

Weak murder mystery. Two teams of siblings, (two attorneys and two private investigators) work together to protect their client, who is giving evidence against the mob boss in town. As people start dying, the stakes get higher. The premise was ok, but the execution was simplistic. The characters seemed immature and not thoughtful about the dangers they were in, all of them coming and going without telling anyone where they were going. There was some interesting backstory, but it seemed to me that we were reading Cliff’s notes. I received this book at no charge from Booksirens and the author, but all opinions are my own.

I enjoyed reading this book, it was hard to put down. This is the second book I have read from this author and I think I shall look out for further books written by Paige H Perry.

I liked the characters because they were lively, with a sense of humour and the reader was not quite sure what was going to happen next.

I specifically liked the story line as I did not imagine that would be how it would finish.

Yes i would recommend this book, I think it's definitley a goodread and one worth picking up.

Trial by Sabotage is the first book in the Hartman & Malone Mystery series and is a great start to this series.

I really enjoyed this crime thriller. The characters are well developed, intelligent, and relatable. The storyline is well written and flows nicely from start to finish. This book is fast-paced and action-packed.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I look forward to reading more.

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ writting
I like how Ms. Perry writes. Easy to follow. Flows smoothly. Action packed. Fast paced.
The length of 227 pages was not to long for one setting.
The characters were lively, fun, humorous, intelligent, strong, and relatable. Well developed.
The dialogue had a few choice unneeded ( sware) words, but overall well written.
Over all, it was hard to put down. I wanted more.
Read! Enjoy!
I received an ARC free from BookSirens and this is my voluntary honest review..

Alright honestly I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this one after i recieved the ARC, as I had vaguely glanced over the premise and found it intriguing enough for a quick read. To my surprise, this turned out to be much better than I expected, with excellent characters, good premise and shockingly hilarious banter, this 1st entry to the series is a superb page-turner for anyone looking for a light breezy thriller.

This book could have been a five star but ended up being a three star. The mystery/suspense story was good but it got pushed aside for all the antics of Anna & Joe. The story became rather unbelievable in so many ways. I became slightly confused over the relationships happening in this book. Also there were a couple of friends who were introduced who had absolutely nothing to do with the story. I bought the second book when I bought this one so I hope it is better.

3.75/5⭐: I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. It was very well written, the characters have great depth and it was hard to put down. The 2 reasons this book didn't get 4⭐s is because the amount of head hanging the characters do and the over abundant use of the exclamation point (!).

The first 40% was ok - 3 stars.
Lost me when we started flip-flopping POVs I liked going between the sisters but when we add the brothers and the FBI guys it just lost rhythm.
Also could have used a little more set up with the weekend away. For a book 1 in a series we hit the action pretty quickly but no real investment in who these people are.

Engaging plot that focused on the activities of two sisters, two brothers, one cop, and a couple of FBI agents. Loved the characters and their interactions with each other. The story was well-paced, had good dialog and lots of action in places. Highly recommend.

Uma narrativa cheia de aventuras, com diferentes pontos de vista, em que gente honesta se mete em confusão tentando limpar o próprio nome, e criminosos tentam se safar de qualquer jeito. Divertido.

This was an enjoyable, light mystery. I enjoyed the relationship between the main characters (two brothers and two sisters) and while I expected it to be a bit deeper and more involved, it wasn't disappointing. One thing I did appreciate was the way Ms. Perry established the working relationship with her couples without adding a romantic component to it. Both of the sisters already have significant others in their lives, but they manage to establish working relationships with the brothers without romantic entanglements. I will be checking out other books in this series and look forward to seeing how things progress.
