This series was amazing. Full of everything you could want in a survival series. The story, the characters, the families, the friends. The bad guys against the good guys. This has it all. Love the characters and the writers are totally worth following.
I finished the entire series set of books After the Crash with my brain unable to settle. The folk in Redemption will not, cannot, be forgotten. So many are shining stars that stand out as exceptional beings. There were times when I cheered and when I cried. The authors worked an apocalypse into a story of humanity that doesn't quit. I loved it.
This story flowed smoothly, threw out the 6 book series. Normal everyday citizens , coming together and fighting for their town, and their own lives. This story could become a reality, so reading threw till the last page, I felt like I was right there in Redemption with these very relatable characters. Amazing writing. Five star quality, and it didn't even need sex or naked people!!!! I will definitely let others know what a great read this series is. Bring on the next one, Mr.Kraus and Ms. Ellis !!!!!
Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse. It’s no surprise that one of the authors wrote stuff for middle schoolers. That’s what this seemed like. Provocative plot was ruined by lots of clichéd characters, and unrealistic superhero antics by a bunch of kids. And it had the worst proofreading I’ve ever seen. Bulletproof vests are Kevlar not Mylar. When you ride a bicycle, you are pedaling it not peddling it. That must’ve happened at least 20 times in the book. When you go through the wringer, it’s not a ringer. And while camradery is a legitimate word, it’s archaic, and it should’ve been spelled camaraderie. About 1000 pages too long.
This series is like riding a wooden roller coaster that's been set on fire! Loved the characters and the dynamics of the plot plus some very surprising twists. I highly recommend After the Crash!
Okay just to say she's a great writer would be an understatement. It kept me up all hours, I did NOT want to put the books down. I truly enjoyed reading these stories. Can't wait to read more from her. Ljh
After the Crash: The Complete Box Set - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
A fantastic 6 volume, value-for-money, box set of Tara Ellis and Mike Kraus' epic After the Crash series in one mega-anthology, that you simply must not miss.
1) After the Crash: Sabotaged by a worm named Helix, the new O.N.E tech security system sends a burning blimp crashing onto an already panicking crowd, as they desperately try to escape their doom. 2)The Collapse: The Collapse continues the epic fight for survival, both outside and within the town of Redemption and across the US. 3) Web of Destruction: Survivors try to reunite with their loved ones and survivalists/'preppers' must fight to keep what's theirs, from desperate marauders who try to take it. Add to that a self-serving cultist group and the mix soon becomes toxic! 4) Critical Failure: Survivors and locals must unite against Derrick, (aka Watchtower) and his cultists, and marauders who would steal from their better-prepared neighbours' supplies. 5) Redemption is under attack by merciless raiders...some of whom are known to them. And Derrick feels he's splitting into four personalities...but isn't fully in control of any of them. 6) Road To Redemption: The Entangled forces are encroaching on the beleaguered township refuge of Redemption. How will Bucky and the other survivors achieve an eponymous redemption and what's the outcome for Hightower and his followers?
A riveting saga that reaches an amazing conclusion at the end of Books 1-6, with some incredible, unpredictable twists en route to the final scenes and resolution for all remaining. Get them all and prepare for a wild ride to Redemption!
I’d like to this series proud with this review, but I know before I start that I cannot. It’s got everything I love from this genre. Slow burn romance with intelligent adults who realize the enormous consequences of allowing a love bond to grow. Young teens to steal your heart, and children who find creative ways to play during n apocalypse.seething mystery abounds throughout, and much to my amazement, it has a haunting yet happy ending. Do read the series!
One of the best post-apocalyptic stories I've read. An interesting idea for how it happened, and a reasonable response from a town trying to take care of its own. There was a wide range of believable characters.
Many of the characters are away at the time of the event, and we follow them as they head home in the new landscape where it's difficult to trust anyone. Once in town it's people pivoting into survival mode and working together both to share resources and to guard against outside elements. I'm trying not to give anything away! I loved this book.
I like the way the characters returned to redemption and against the odds pulled the people together. It shows family isn’t always blood. Standing together was the only way to survive. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes apocalyptic fiction. I gave four stars because it was hard to stop reading late into the night.
I’ve become enthralled for a long time with the Apocalyptic genre …but this one had a twist (or 2) on how our world can come to an end as we’ve known it. I loved each one of the good characters…a little twist of love, hate, mystery…all throughout the series. I loved it!
This series has it all. Well developed characters, each a small story in itself. Some of the paragraphs were a little wordy but overall it was a good read.
This was a great story,I fell in love with the people was on pins and needles hoping they would survive. I was held captive but all the twists and turns I would hold my breathe and read faster just wanting to know that things were going to be.The story made me feel.
As Apocalypse’s go, this was a great eye-opener to me….all the multiple layers of intricately-planned ways to bring about control and/or chaos! The book’s well written, just too wordy for me!
This was well written and had really good character development. It was hard to put down and kept me thinking about the story and characters even when I wasn't reading it.
Excellent weaving of characters and a surprise even. I don' t know if there is a real town named redemption, but we can hope. I live in Prosparity, and understand the importance with picking an approximate name.
Brilliant story and something that could actually happen I really enjoyed the strength of the people who came together in their time of need I would definitely recommend this series especially if you enjoy the survival story line and this was brilliantly written
