Have you ever wondered why so few retail investors ever manage to outperform the market? And if they try, why do so many fail?
The good news is that despite what the mainstream media wants to tell you. Investing is not an impossible or complicated game only the pros can master.
The secret to beating the market's long-term performance and avoiding account-crushing losses is enhanced buy-and-hold (ETFs + options trading). Think of it as buy-and-hold investing on steroids .
And if you feel nervous when you hear the word "options" – don't worry.
The book explains how to use options the way billionaire investors like Warren Buffett and Mark Cuban do. It's a safe and sensible approach to using stocks and options.
Here's the
Trading and investing methods don't typically go hand-in-hand. Most books focus exclusively either on short-term or long-term strategies. Very few cover these "mixed" methods and techniques for managing investments.
But that's also why so few investors can outperform the market consistently. That all changes with this book.
Written by 2019 United States Investing Champion Travis Wilkerson (a.k.a. Trader Travis), this guide contains tried and tested strategies for building long-term wealth with ETF options.
Here's just a fraction of what you'll discover ...Plus, free video tutorials of this strategy and six extra bonuses.
If you're unfamiliar with combining traditional buy-and-hold with options trading, the book walks you through everything step by step. It's all explained in plain English, free from technical jargon—with real examples for all the concepts inside.
10-Minute Options Trading and ETF Investing was written for busy people who don't have the time to sort through hundreds of stock charts daily, looking for trades or investments.
People who want high investment returns and protection against market crashes—and also only want to spend a few minutes a year managing their portfolio.
So if you're looking to fast-track your path to financial freedom with minimal risk … and generate steady returns on your assets, no matter which way the market's headed… then this book can show you how to make money by combining options with traditional buy-and-hold.
Don't get me wrong the book introduced a beautiful strategy however as a book it was flawed in that it kept reiterating and repeating the same conversation over and over. The repeated concepts is what makes the bulk of the book and the whole thing could be summarized in about 1-3 pages because it did not go into depth about anything just the broad strategy. Easy read.
What can be said? This is perhaps the most down to earth, practical, and applicable book on personal finance ever written. I found it searching Kindle in a bid to read something on enhanced option strategies, not because I wanted to go being a day-trader, but simply to get a better understanding of a tool I wasn't really making use of in order to see if I ever would, or should, in fact use it.
What I found here was beyond all expectations. Not because it provided me with incredible insight or knowledge on esoteric tactics and chart positions that would unlock the secret to making quick millions, but quite the opposite - an incredibly simple and repeatable strategy that would build wealth sustainably and steadily. How do I know if I've only just read it? Because it employs a strategy that anyone who's made money in the markets (that isn't an investment banker or HFT) has employed for decades: index buy and holds. I don't know about you, but this has made me much more money than trying to pick individual stocks.
What it then goes on to do is show you how to 'enhance' this tried and tested strategy with options so that you can not only accelerate your returns (moderately - you're not going to be doubling the markets every year all of a sudden), but also do something that's probably more important than knowing where to allocate your funds: managing your emotional response. I've a degree in cognitive science. I have a good understanding of how the brain processes information and reacts to emotional stimulus. This method makes sense. Frankly, it's brilliant.
Does that mean I'll have the same results as the author? Not at all, and he does an excellent job outlining this throughout the book, going out of his way to manage your expectations, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. It's one of the most honest, well-meaning books on personal finance I have ever read.
Well done, Travis. Very excited to put EBH into practice. Here's hoping I can emulate your results, but thank you for providing the blueprint to even have the chance to do so.
The title sounds pretty click-baity, but the actual investment approach he describes is very straightforward and reasonable. It uses only the absolute most basic types of options trading—buying calls and puts—to fulfill some of the basic original purposes of options: enhancing gains and reducing risk. Combined with a simple buy-and-hold ETF strategy, it works really well. He has a version for more aggressive gains (when you’re initially building up your net worth) and then a version that’s more conservative after you reach a certain point. One thing I would have liked for him to include would have been how capital gains taxes affect the returns, but I can do that math for myself, I guess. He does mention holding the options long enough to get long-term capital gains rates, though, and of course, if you’re doing this in a tax-free retirement account, that won’t be an issue anyway.
As with all other books by Travis this one is packed with solid long term options and ETF guidance not only to help one grow their account but to protect it during a downside.
I have followed Travis for many years and he is the real deal his explanations of trades and how they may effect ones account in the future are honest and straightforward.
This is not an overnight get rich quick scheme with tricks and gimmicks, but solid and most likely to work over many years of plodding that will make everyone happy!!
Thank you as always Travis and thank you for the included Bonus information as well
I love these books because the principals are taught without the time decay and confusing metrics. While time decay is crucial, he’s not teaching the short game and shows you how to resist the emotional tug of the option play. These are plays to build wealth using blended methods for accelerated gains and protections to prevent loss. It’s simple and fun, and the case studies are great. My favorite part is that he teaches the necessary skill of hedging against risk in the enhanced buy and hold method for investment accounts to help you keep your money once you follow the blueprint to get there. I’m so stoked to start the next one.
Not a bad read. Informational, and gives good applicable knowledge. Underwhelming strategy overall due to the time frames selected for case studies. I think Travis is an inspirational story, and undeniably good trader. This strategy works and in terms of protecting wealth is a great idea. I don’t know if this fits my goals, and is why I give it a 3. Is it worth the read? Absolutely. Is the information good? Absolutely. Is this the options strategy I personally will go through with? Probably not. This has opened the door to more research and learning which is truly the biggest gain here, and encourage others to give it a read.
There is no one who teaches it best with Sincerity and Precision!
Trader Travis in my opinion has Always been the Best Teacher when it comes to investing from the ground floor! His candor and passion for the subjects has left so much Hope with the Belief that It Is Possible to soon enter the Proverbial Promised Land of being Financially Free! Thanks for all of your teachings over the many years I’ve listened to you! Always keep coming back to you!! Thanks again! Kind regards, -Emmanuel.
Fantastic Travis! My wife's retirement portfolio, my retirement portfolio, our savings! Can't wait to teach our Dave Ramsey friends, our siblings. Often I am skeptical in teaching finances because of the complexity. Now I have confidence.
Very nicely presented a method to try option as a long term option along with enhanced buy and hold a broad market Index ETF. This gave me a great insight by this experienced trader worth a try for an average investor like me. Shan Vadi
This book shows you how anyone can achieve above average returns using a simple long term and disciplined approach to investing. As always Trader Travis shows you the good and bad along this journey.
I enjoy reading the case study of Sam and Sara of them using the EBH strategy. It is amazing how the author track their progress over 10 plus years. This book inspires me to be financial free as Sam and Sara! I am blessed to read their journey to freedom.
I found this book while searching for something to fill my days with as I will retire within five years. What can I say? At least the book tells me what to do for ten minutes a year. However, with my pension funds (non-US) continually growing while at the same time my trading accounts gradually reduceing, I have to give it to Travis; this is genious in all its simplicity allthough I still have to find something to do within five years. On a side note I find I have the means to execute his methods of being financially free in five years, but on the other hand - it seems my pension funds already follow Travis' advice.
