Fake dating my enemy was never supposed to feel so real…
MIA My ex-boyfriend screwed me over and now the future of my matchmaking agency is in danger. I’d do anything to save it. Even if it involves fake dating my childhood best friend, hot Hollywood action movie star Liam Stone.
With his good looks, charm and acting skills, he’d be ideal.
There’s just one problem. We hate each other.
But the arrangement would help me win the Matchmaker of the Year award (being single doesn’t exactly work in my favour) and scoop the cash prize and publicity that would save my business.
It’s purely professional. Two months and we’re done.
Except when Liam kisses me, nothing about the fireworks between us feels fake…
LIAM I’m no stranger to kiss-and-tell stories. But when I get caught up in a sex scandal that threatens to end my career, I fly to London to escape the drama.
I never expected to bump into her.
Yeah, Mia’s smart and annoyingly attractive, but when she asks me to be her fake boyfriend, my first thought is hell no. Not after what happened before.
Then I realise pairing up with her would help shake off my playboy image and restore my reputation.
Dating Mia will be a challenge, but pretending is my forte.
Except when we’re forced to share a bed, the feelings that are supposed to be pretend become all too real…

Thats when famous action star Liam comes back into her life but they are enemies. Mia may need a partner to look the part of winning the award but will Liam say yes?
I love Olivia’s work. This is the second book iv read and it was a feel-good romance read. It makes you smile, laugh and fall in love. I loved Mia wanting to pursue her dreams while feeling the disappointment of her family, dealing with issues with a past ex and trying to find love. Liam came off as a playboy at the start but deep down they have always had a connection. This man can cook which is a weakness of mine. Loved the chemistry and there was the perfect amount of spice.

Mia is strong and determined so asking for help, especially from the man she had a crush on as a teen who she now hates, doesn't come easy but after some unfortunate pictures that were sent to the media of Luke it turns out he could use a little help to, and the perfect solution (my favourite trope) fake dating each other.
I devoured this book and loved the side characters so I'm really hoping, Trudy especially will get her own book.
Thank you, Oliva Spring, for another fabulous read x
Thank you dear Olivia for a review copy of your new book in exchange for an honest review.
I totally fell in love with Mia, the hard working woman and Liam, the action star and his not so simple life being a celebrity. I love the two protagonists' banter, I had to laugh out loud quite some times. I love how quick this read is and i hope this is the start of a new series of companion novels. I would so much love to read Trudy's story. The cover is also absolutely gorgeous.
I would just like to say a big thank you to the author, Olivia, who very kindly forwarded me a beta copy of her book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review.
Yet again, Olivia has written an amazing book that kept me totally engrossed right from the very beginning!! It pulled me in and wouldn’t let me go until I had finished reading it! It also made me stay up well past my bedtime and now I have the most awful book hangover and cannot think about reading anything else yet!
I loved The Match Faker so so much, it was perfect in every way. Liam was just wonderful, so adorable how he fell more and more in love with Mia. Mia was a strong character who had always wanted to be a matchmaker and was not afraid of some hard work to build her business into a success.
I also really loved all the little mentions of previous books characters, that was a nice little touch and i loved it.
I loved Liam and Mia together, they were perfect for each other and their banter was so funny, it had me snorting with laughter in quite a few places!!
There are a few spicy scenes which are all wonderful and very necessary to the movement of the story and of course are very enjoyable to read!!
The Match Faker was a wonderful story featuring quite a few of my favourite tropes - enemies to lovers, close proximity, childhood friends, only one bed and of course, my all-time favourite fake dating!
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and fell in love with all the characters, not just Liam and Mia.
All that i really want to know now is if this book is the first one of a new series because i seriously cannot wait to find out more about quite a few of the other side characters, including Trudy and Alice.
As I was reading this book i felt like i was immersed in one of the best rom com movies ever! One where the leading man has to try and find and win over his one true love………
Today is my turn on Olivia Spring’s virtual book tour for her latest release ‘The Match Faker’. I am always so excited to be chosen for Olivia’s tours, and this one might just be a new favourite! 🥰
A professional matchmaker meets a Hollywood movie star, factor in an unresolved childhood crush and this makes for a whole lot of tension and spice 🌶️ I loved the dynamic between Mia and Liam, and the banter was everything!
Olivia always has a beautiful way of humanising her characters and this book was no exception - full of flaws and fears, messiness and desire. It was beautiful to see the growth they experienced throughout the book and I also loved the weaving in of some characters from her previous series!
What you can expect: ❤️🔥 Fake dating ❤️🔥 Forced proximity ❤️🔥 One bed ❤️🔥 Childhood friends to enemies to lovers
It has the perfect combination of my favourite tropes and I know these are popular with my booksta babes so do yourself a favour and check this beauty out ASAP! 😜
Thank you so much to @ospringauthor for sending me this to review and having me a part of your blog tour 🙏🏻 as always I had so much fun and can’t wait for the next one! 😍
QOTD: What has been a five star read for you lately?
If you've had the pleasure of reading any of Olivia Spring's romance books, you'll know they're filled with humour and make for fun, light reads. And if you haven't, I highly suggest picking up any one of her books because I guarantee you'll find yourself bursting into fits of laughter.
In this standalone story, we meet Mia, a professional matchmaker who excels at pairing others but hasn't had much luck in her own love life. She's up for an award that could launch her career, but her chances are slim since she's single. Enter Liam, a famous action movie star caught in a sex scandal and needing to keep a low profile to save his career.
Mia and Liam were childhood friends who drifted apart on bad terms and haven't seen each other in years. When they unexpectedly cross paths, long-buried feelings resurface. With Mia needing a temporary boyfriend and Liam needing to appear in a stable relationship, they decide to fake a relationship together.
While reading this book, it felt like a movie playing in my head the entire time. Both main characters are incredibly lovable, and despite their ongoing banter, it was the intimate moments when they were together, especially at Liam's place, that stirred all my emotions while reading. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to read something light and sweet with just the right amount of spice, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments that are sure to put a smile on your face!
First, I want to thank Olivia Spring and Hartley Publishing for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Olivia Spring I am single looking to mingle where do I sign up for Mia’s matchmaking services? Oh this was such a fun read that had me smiling, laughing out loud and even had me thinking maybe there is someone out there for me! It is definitely a book to put on your TBR list.
I have been a fan of Olivia’s for a while now. All of her books are great but this one was my favorite! If you like RomCom’s, pop culture, enemies to lovers then you will love this book.
Mia and Liam are my new favorite book couple! I absolutely loved reading their back story on how they met to fast forward to today!
Thank you to Olivia for thanking all of her readers, brilliant bloggers and Arc readers in her acknowledgements. I appreciated it and enjoy reviewing for you.
If you want to read a good fake dating love story with enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one bed, celebrity romance and reformed playboy, then this book is definitely for you. Mia and Liam were best friends as children, but now they hate each other. They agreed to fake date because it helps both of them in their careers. It's a wonderful and humorous rom-com with lovable characters who have great chemistry together and a sweet love story.

Me gustó, pero tengo una queja que aplica a varios libros: por favor, dejen de darle a la protagonista una vida sexual insatisfactoria, mientras que el protagonista disfruta con todas sus parejas sexules, no es justo y estoy harta de esta situación.
When you need a boyfriend, a hot actor is the solution, even if you hate each other…
Mia truly believes in love, even if her ex – boyfriend screwed her over. And that affects her matchmaking agency, she would do anything to save it. As there is a bi competition to win, Mia knows she needs to find someone to pretend in being her boyfriend. Because how can she show being great at matching people if she is single herself? And her former best friend, and famous Hollywood actor Liam Stone agrees to play the part, especially as he needs himself some severe damage control after a sex scandal. A match made in heaven, weren’t it for the fact that Mia and Liam hate each other… But when one kiss ignites severe fireworks and they are forced to share a bed, where does pretending end and does something real begin?
I could write a real short review, stating that this is a wonderful and hilarious book that you should absolutely read to put a big smile on your face. But that just wouldn’t be enough to make you understand just how much I loved it and Olivia Spring for sure deserves more than just a few words!
Mia is such an easy character to like and love. She wants everyone to find their perfect person, and to be happy, even if her latest relationship turned her life into hell. It isn’t clear from the very start what exactly happened to her and just how much in trouble she is. And it for sure it doesn’t help Mia feeling like a failure to her own family. Her parents are pushing her to return to her former job, giving up the business and her sister for sure isn’t all that supportive and is always taking the spotlight. With so many doubts that Mia is having, of course I could understand how important it is to her to win the award, as it is a way to secure the business she has been working so hard on. In a way, it also saddened me that in order to make a great impression, she needs to find a fake boyfriend. Why is someone’s success linked to them being or not being in a relationship, even if you are a matchmaking? I found it even better for Mia being single, as that means that she isn’t settling for anything but the perfect match, even for herself!
Her pairing up with Liam for sure is a recipe for laughter! There is history between them, as they used to be friends, but now are anything but.
I could clearly imagine Liam, this hunk, hot male specimen 😊. And even if my world couldn’t be further away from all that Hollywood glitter and glam, I think I could understand the temptations of that world. And I could understand the mistakes Liam made and is perhaps still making. And in his case, it saddened me to read how people are using Liam for their own advantages and having him labelled, careerwise and other.
Both needing someone in their corner, of course they need to pair up! Mia needs a fake boyfriend and Liam needs someone to clean up his reputation. But I was wondering just how good this pair would be at pretending to like, or rather love each other, while their actual feelings couldn’t be more different! Of course it was hilarious seeing Mia trying (and also failing) to be pretending, and Liam trying to teach her the tricks.
Yet while that was absolutely hilarious, it were the moments the pair is on their own, in the privacy of where Liam is staying that truly warmed my heart. Because it’s during those ‘alone – moments’ that Liam and Mia are just Liam and Mia, not the actor and not the matchmaker. And slowly they lose those negative vibes they initially had. From protecting Mia from attacking spiders, to support a new direction in his career Liam wants to take, the bond Mia and Liam once had, seems to return.
I loved to read how feelings start to change, but also how it’s not just that change and everything is perfect. Because even the changed dynamics, Olivia Spring managed perfectly to capture the insecurities and doubts people have in a (fake) relationship. How much is just pretend, and how much is real? How much dare someone to open up and come clean about their feelings, without having a heartbreak as a result?
Like I said, I absolutely loved reading this book. It was heart – warming, sweet and hilarious at the same time. But it also has plenty of vulnerability in it, even the characters that appear to be so composed and strong. Olivia Strong wrote once again a story that was impossible to put away!
Many of us have had relationships where we didn’t feel "good enough" to be with the other person, perhaps feeling that they deserved someone better than who we were. Thankfully, this one had a happy ending, and our two protagonists were able to find each other again and realize that they were always meant to be together. The Match Faker is a fun and fast read. You will love the characters as they represent us well, perhaps with the exception of being a handsome and studly movie star, but they represent us on a more basic level with our good, bad, and all of our insecurities about whether we’re good enough for that other person that we’ve dreamt of.
Mia and Liam grew up together. Sadly, before their budding school romance had a chance to develop, Liam and his mother moved to a different country, and he lost touch with Mia. Through a series of bad decisions, Liam winds up making his way to Europe in an effort to escape the paparazzi and the issues surrounding his single life in LA. The move to London was a good move as he wound up coming across an old friend again and rekindling the relationship that he and Mia lost so many years before. Mia has her own matchmaking business and is hoping to boost the business's credibility and visibility through winning a contest for matchmakers. In the process, Mia and Liam find themselves together for purposes of helping each other’s careers and wind up realizing that the love is real.
The author does a good job of taking a potentially cliché storyline and making it loads of fun with lovable characters that you really want to know more about when the book ends. I found myself wanting to jump into the bonus material and even wishing for a second book about Mia and Liam. You won’t regret this purchase, and you won’t regret the time spent reading the book; it’s just a fun read!

Sexy, fun second chance, enemies to lovers romance
Mia Bailey and Liam Stone grew up together, living on the same street and going to school together. They were the closest of friends until they were 17 and then Liam moved overseas. Now aged 32, Liam is a world famous model and actor, usually playing action heroes, and Mia runs a matchmaking company. Following a scandal involving some indecent photos, Liam returns home from LA to London, where he and bumps into Mia and her best friend Trudy, who also went to the same school. Although it has been 15 years since they last saw each other, old hurts are still raw and, despite Trudy’s efforts to keep things friendly, Mia and Liam are antagonistic and hostile towards each other.
Mia’s matchmaking company is successful at matching couples but financially struggling since her ex had left her with debts and her office rent is set to double. Winning a prestigious matchmaking competition would give Mia the financial and publicity boost that her company urgently needs.. the only snag is Mia is very single and the winners of this competition are always in a relationship. As a desperate last resort, Mia takes up Trudy’s solution and asks Liam to be her fake boyfriend. Since this arrangement will also help Liam’s own tarnished reputation, he agrees. What neither expects is how real their fake relationship will start to feel, especially since they still hate each other.
The Match Faker is packed with humour but both protagonists have their own vulnerabilities and are realistically written. The narrative is told from the points of view of both Mia and Liam and both characters are well developed and also likeable. The storyline flows well and the book was a real page-turner. I really enjoyed The Match Faker and would recommend it.
Disclaimer: I was fortunate to receive an e-ARC of this book, thanks to author Olivia Spring and to BookSirens, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
Love a good Brit book. Went into this excited for another romcom set in London, as we get some 2000s romcom vibes off the bat.
Meet Mia, who has some self awareness around her brand as a generational matchmaker when she recognizes: “What kind of matchmaker hired a boyfriend? I was a matchmaker, not a match faker. My whole business would be a sham.”
Meet Liam, a Hollywood playboy who just lost his biggest contract because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.
Mia’s best friend Trudy… Oh wow. So much talk about dick and objectifying Liam for his. Like locker room level. Trudy is so aggressive about them getting together and always asking us they shagged yet. It is uncomfortable. (And magically she cleans up her mouth and thoughts more than halfway through - it was like they recasted the best friend.)
Liam shows he is kind for all of one night and Mia is now head over heels and can’t deny her feelings and is ready to drop her knickers for him. I struggle where it’s just instant, no build up, no story building just a snap of the fingers and they love each other. No actual character growth.
Despite being childhood through adolescent friends, Liam’s mum not recognizing Mia from the pap photos/Liam not telling his mum “it’s Mia” was sus.
All in all, very Hallmark-y fast paced love story with some dirty talking open door smut, where we hit the 4th act and everyone confesses all their wrong doings and all the apologizing across Mia’s family and between Mia and Liam. I wish there was more to this story. I wish we got more character growth and less internal dialogues that dragged the plot out.
Thank you BookSirens and Olivia Spring for the opportunity to be on your ARC team. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I enjoyed this childhood fake relationship romance. It was a fun story. “Single as a Pringle” Matchmaker Mia needed a romantic partner to make her competitive in a contest for matchmakers. “I’d literally found the perfect match everyone I knew. So why was I having such a hard time finding my own Mr. Right?” Meanwhile Liam, a famous actor and notorious playboy, wanted a fake relationship to help his image. In spite of their complicated history of childhood friends turned enemies, the two agreed to a fake relationship. It didn’t take long for long-buried attraction and feelings to surface, but anything lasting was out of the question with living on different continents and Liam’s conviction that he didn’t want long-term. But walking away wasn’t so easy after all. “She’d lived rent-free in my head for years before we got together. Now she wasn’t renting space in my head. She’d taken out a lifetime mortgage.” The characters were engaging and went through growth in the story. The romance had strong intensity. I read for the stories so books that are heavy in intimate scenes often start to feel like the plot has become simply a device to drive the intimate scenes. I much prefer to feel like the intimate scenes are part of driving the plot forward. The scenes can also get quite repetitive when there are so many. In this book there are several intimate scenes, but happily it felt more like the plot was in the driver’s seat and it didn’t feel repetitive. This is a detailed open door romance with innuendo and strong harsh language throughout.

Another fabulous read by the wonderful Olivia Spring Another story that kept me up way past my bedtime, but I’m not complaining!
I could honestly have read this in one sitting, with short chapters, alternating points of view between Mia and Liam and spicy scenes that would be off the Nando’s peri-ometer chart this has everything you need for a fun filled read.
Liam and Mia were childhood best friends but due to unforeseen circumstances let’s just say they aren’t buddies anymore. So when Liam is hiding out in London from a sex scandal that could ruin his career and Mia is trying everything to save her matchmaker business. They are thrown together to fake date, purely professional two months and that’s it. Although as time goes on the pair become closer and it’s hard to work out what’s real and what’s fake.
As always, a great cast line up including some surprise cameos from her previous books (made me very happy to see a couple of names pop up!) I connect with Olivia’s characters so quickly, they are always so real, down to earth and loveable. I love that like many of us they have their hang ups and insecurities. I’m also not complaining that she introduces us to some hubba hubba male leads 🤭😆 Luke is definitely one loveable male lead.
I raced through this and was gutted when I got to the end, I wish I had slowed down but I honestly couldn’t put it down. Another great read by Olivia, I wasn’t expecting anything less. Her stories are always filled with laughter, friendship, and romance just perfect for the escapism you look for in a book.
Heres hoping this could be the start of a new series,🤞🏻 I need more of Mia and Liam! Thank you as always Olivia for including me in your ARC reads and blog tours, I feel very lucky when your book appears on my kindle!
Prolific author Olivia Springs pens an incredibly sweet and engaging love story using several common tropes. She skillfully uses the tropes of enemies to lovers, second chance at love and fake relationship in this story of personal growth, love, and resilience. Mia is a matchmaker without a current mate; her business is struggling, and her financial outlook is bleak, courtesy of her former boyfriend. Liam has traveled far in life from his home in London, but he is a famous movie star with a tattered reputation due to his many romantic indiscretions. In a former life, Liam and Mia were best friends; however, misunderstandings and interference splintered their relationship. Now they are both in need of relationship optics that can only be provided by a steady and stable companion! As prickly Mia and irreverent Liam embark on their fake relationship will they discover that they are still each other’s best friend and maybe more? Ms. Spring breathes new life into the fake relationship trope and her story is a heady mixture of angst, relationship building, laugh out loud humor, and steamy passion. Liam and Mia are adorable and as a reader we root for their HEA. I really enjoyed this powerful and well-crafted story and totally look forward to the next one by this author. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This fake fating romance is a great romcom. I must say that it's writen in british english so it's a bit different as usually i read US writers, buy because english is not my first language and I learnt the british one it's like a journey to the past for me.
The main characters are in their early 30s and they were best friends since the age of 7 till 17 when Liam went to live to Spain with his mother.
Now he is a famous action actor and underwear model. When the last one of his hook-ups went wrong and he needs to lay low, he returns to London and there he meets Mia again, and she despises him.
Thank to their mutual friend, Trudy, Mia asks Liam to help her being her fake boyfriend to try to win a competition, as she knows that in that competition you must be in a "happy" relationship if you want to win. Because you can't be a good matchmaker if you are single, or so they think.
When they start their fake relationship they start to remember why they were good friends and we could see how they remember being in love with each other when they were teens but miscommunication and fear of losing their friendship made them keep it secret.
I really enjoyed this story and how what starts as fake becomes real and how they share their fears and try to help each other.
It's a cozy romcom with open doors spice of two souls that find each other more than 10 years later.
- I got an arc in BookSirens and im leaving my honest review -
4-4.5🌟stars Mia and Liam were a great couple and I liked the set-up for their mutual need for a temporary, stable, romantic relationship. The fact that they had childhood history (and Liam kept confirming that in his long absence he'd never forgotten Mia's quirks and likes) made it more believable. And I got a real kick out of scenes like Mia confronting a spider and getting papped while adjusting a wardrobe malfunction.
This was one of those stories where the playboy, rich and famous MC gets a directive to change his prowling ways and transform into the model romantic interest for a "regular," hardworking woman. I like these transformative plots.
Author Olivia Spring allowed plenty of space and time for their friendship and intimacy to rekindle and gave them enough problems to overcome to keep the plot lively. I just found the spicy interludes somewhat long for my particular tastes. But overall, Liam and Mia's story was really good and entertaining.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
❤️Mia is a professional matchmaker running her own business. She’s been successful at matching couples but it’s hard when the office rent and her flat’s rent is increasing and she needs new clients.
❤️The chance to enter the Matchmaker of the Year competition would bring a huge cash prize and be marketing gold, but Mia can’t be single if she hopes to win.
❤️Enter Liam Stone, Hollywood heartthrob and Mia’s childhood friend. His reputation is in the doldrums, with his career linked to his appearance. Could fake dating help them both?
❤️I love how Olivia Spring’s characters are real humans with fears, insecurities and kindness. Mia and Liam’s relationship soured as teens and festered after that, but it’s the sweetest when they finally open up to each other. There are also some welcome cameo appearances from some of the Olivia’s previous books 😉 I struggled to put this sweet story down! ❤️

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is my first time reading this author but it won’t be the last. I was sucked in to this story and didn’t stop reading until I was done. Mia is a matchmaker in England. She is a one woman show trying to get her business off the ground. Her bff Trudy nominates her for one of the highest awards from a relationship magazine…there’s only one problem, she’s single. There’s an unwritten rule that they count you off for that. Trudy suggests finding a fake boyfriend to pretend with until the competition is over. But who would be willing to do that? Plus, Mia is horrible at lying. Then they run into their childhood friend Liam who is now a huge Hollywood movie star. He needs some help with his playboy reputation … Trudy has a great idea, Mia and Liam can help each other out. There’s only one problem, Liam broke Mia’s heart all those years ago and she’s never forgiven him. Can they help each other out and make it look real? Can Mia help Liam’s reputation? Can Liam help Mia win the competition and save her business? You’ll have to read to find out!
This book was everything you want in a fake dating enemies to lovers. This was my first book by Olivia and I can't wait for my next read from her I am so glad I got this ARC.
I love the banter and back and forth between Liam and Mia with the added background of them being childhood friends to enemies adds a whole new level to the angst. This story made me laugh and I also relate so well with Mia as a 1st born child, I understand her mind set.
This story was funny, sweet and spicy with some heart hitting points that most people will relate to. All in all a great read especially if you are in a reading slump I recommend this one to help.
~~Tropes~~ 💞 Childhood Friends to Enemies to Lovers 💞 Fake Dating 💞 Forced Proximity 💞 One Bed 💞Celebrity Romance 💞 Reformed Playboy
~~Quotes~~ 🎞️Let them but, the whole d**n world can burn down right now. Nothing else exist when I'm F you. 🎞️Sometimes you gotta choose love over fear. 🎞️The power of a good woman was magical.
This story was very hard to put down. Liam and Mia were close friends as kids in England, but lost touch after Liam and his mother moved away. Liam eventually became a star in action movies and now lives in California. He returns to England temporarily to hide out while his team deals with the ramifications of a messy scandal. Mia has a matchmaker business and is struggling financially. After they run into each other again, Mia reluctantly proposes a temporary fake relationship to Liam. Having a boyfriend will help her compete in a contest with a big financial prize, and Liam’s reputation would be helped by settling down with a girlfriend. Their strong childhood connection allows a romance to develop quickly, in spite of some misunderstandings, steamy heat, family issues and career problems. This romance book has a satisfying HEA with a bonus epilogue. Recommended. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow I really liked this book! I’m so glad that I read it. Mia is picking up her broken pieces after being used and manipulated by her ex boyfriend. She is a small business owner and she’s a professional matchmaker. Liam is an actor who just got caught in the worst possible scandal. He desperately needs to mend his reputation. Mia’s best friend enters her in a matchmaker’s competition. Mia and Liam decide to help each other by being in a fake relationship. These two had a lot of chemistry. The banter between them was so funny. I loved how Liam paid so much attention to Mia and was very caring with her. I also loved how Mia was there to help Liam break out of his shell. She truly believed in him and helped him achieve his dream.
I received an ARC copy and I'm voluntarily leaving my honest review.
The Match Faker by Olivia Spring is a hilarious enemies to lovers rom-com. Mia is a single banker turned matchmaker, who doesn't trust men because her ex-boyfriend hurt her in the past. Her family nags her
about being still single in her early 30s. Liam is an action film star and a womanizer. Mia and Liam used to be best friends in their teens but had a fallout when they were 17 due to a misunderstanding,. Now they meet again and make a deal to have a fake relationship that would benefit them both. Mia and Liam are great characters. They are very cute together and I loved the way they supported and cared about each other.
The book is very romantic and steamy. There are great LOL moments. It was very entertaining and witty. there were some heart-breaking moments and I just couldn't put it down.
childhood enemies to lovers. slow burn. fake dating. one bed. alllll the romance tropes in 1! i’m giving this one a 3.5 just because it was a pretty predictable ending & some of the spicy scenes made me cringe a little. as a dark romance reader, when the characters aren’t morally grey sometimes the dirty talk can feel a bit out of place in my opinion! also, the mmc was giving me shades of clay from this season of love is blind with his constant mentions of relationships being impossible because his dad cheated on his mom, do men know that cheating isn’t genetic? 😂 but seriously, if contemporary romance is your main genre you’d love it, it’s a cute feel good romance with some witty humor sprinkled in! i enjoyed it more than i thought i would!
huge thank you to olivia for sending this to read as an arc!
If you've enjoyed Olivia's other books you'll appreciate more chick lit at its finest: lots of strong female characters, complicated relationships, romantic ups and downs plus the odd saucy scene!
As your classic enemies to lovers trope, it was an comfortable read that I devoured over 2 days. The story is told from a dual perspective; I really enjoyed the journey Mia and Liam took after reconnecting, and gradually unpeeling the layers of shared history and finding out what initially ruined the friendship.
Any fans of Olivia's 10 year crush series will enjoy cameo appearances from Nate and Andrea, plus references to more. It was quite satisfying to confirm that all these characters exist in the same timeline/universe!
I don't often read spicy books (it can get awkward, especially when commuting... that feeling that everyone knows what you are reading...), but I really enjoyed this one. Mia and Liam were both interesting characters, and I love their backstories. Another struggle of mine is the enemies-to-lovers trope, as I find it tiring to read (the line between banter and plain willingness to annoy the other party is very fine) very quickly. I did not reach that stage while reading the book, even though there were arguments (spoiler alert? will hide the review just in case), so that's another positive. All in all, I recommend this book to all the lovers of spice, and other classic tropes such as enemies-to-lovers.

Yet again this author knocks this completely out of the park! I have to confess I'm not always sold on the fake dating trope but knew I'd be in safe hands with this author so gave it a go. I have to say, this was convincing and I was rooting for Mia and Liam immediately.
I liked the childhood friends vibe, loved the dating agency, and their steamy scenes ohmygoodness was I blushing.
The way this couple support each others dreams is adorable. Yay to also seeing some cameo appearances from other favourite previous characters.
This book deserves a dating award and an Oscar for the performances those two tried to keep faking..
