A revelatory memoir from Liverpool legend and global football star Bobby Firmino.Master of the no-look goal and Anfield favourite, Roberto 'Bobby' Firmino, signed for Liverpool in July 2015. Over the next eight years - and seven winners' medals - he established himself as one of the club's most important players in recent years for his audacious skill, impressive goal scoring, and beaming smile.Jürgen Klopp saw Firmino as the on-pitch 'engine' that drove the club's counter-pressing strategy and together with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, Firmino formed a formidable attacking trio. The Kop rewarded Roberto with the ultimate accolade - his own 'Sí, Señor, give the ball to Bobby and he will score.' Sí, Señor celebrates Firmino's cherished years in a red shirt and will remind fans why they fell in love with him in the first place.
4.5 rounded up. Bobby, you're a Liverpool legend. A super insightful look into his early life and the 8 years he spent at Liverpool. The timeline was sometimes a little hard to follow and it jumped around a bit. Overall, a very nostalgic read from my favourite Liverpool player of this new generation. ❤️
Great player, absolute legend for the club but couldn't finish the book. Some good insight but as a whole a pretty bad book (which pains me to say). The story was all over the place, it was so repetitive. A bit of a struggle to read IMO!
My rating is really 4.5 I would have given it a 5 but struggled at times with the flow which occasionally was rather confusing. Given that , it was a great insight into Roberto's 8 years at Liverpool, a man with true love, passion and loyalty but most of all an amazing, talented footballer. An Anfield Legend.
Ahhh good player, shite book. Nice one to start the reading for the year but not much other that. Basically cheats on his wife and likes football and god now
Lovely book from a lovely human. I love Bobby and will miss him at Liverpool.
As an atheist it's painful at times I couldn't read the chapter the right path. I struggle with religious bullshit. God had a plan and it was to leave Liverpool FFS! I respect that people feel the need to believe in something but for me it's a no.
That being said it's a wonderful insight into the new glory years of a team that's in my blood.
Since becoming a supporter of Liverpool FC. My favorite footballer was the humble striker who put the team ahead of his own ego. Bobby Firmino always played not for personal glory but for the success of his club. Willing to pass the ball as long as any of his teammates reached the result of placing the ball in the back of the net, Bobby would be one of, if not the first to congratulate his comrades with pure joy on his face. It is his love for the spirit of football that made him a favorite in my eyes.
I wish I could have enjoyed this book more. It was hard to follow at points, and for an autobiography, it felt at times to be more focused on facts and statistics than how Bobby actually felt. That's not to say Bobby didn't share what his feelings were during the telling of his Liverpool career whether it was difficulties with being a starter for the Brasilian national team or when he had to face when his days at Liverpool were drawing to their end. It's just that scores of certain matches felt more pronounced and the facts of what happened from a statistical perspective seemed to take the front seat.
I don't feel like this book was a waste of time. However, it unfortunately left me wanting more in not the best way.
A solid auto bio from Firmino - a modern day Liverpool legend - and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it - so much so that I’ve not been able to put it down and read in a oner. It’s a true autobiography. It’s not polished. It’s a bit wonky with timelines. But it is his account of his career and primarily his time with my beloved Reds.
If you’re speculatively looking for gossip or scandal you won’t find any. Firmino’s humility, largely based on his newly found belief in God, is one of his key strengths. He’s a a team player with exceptional skill and talent, genuine selflessness and has a sense of duty that befits an elite man, not just an elite footballer. He admits to his faults, acknowledges his strengths and communicates genuinely the adulation that he has found. His admitted shyness must have made this a difficult realisation!
This js a must for Liverpool fans. Hearing from the inside about the difficulty of matches both won and lost, his battles at international level and his relationship with Klopp is fascinating.
Really insightful look into his early life and the 8 years he spent at Liverpool. The timeline was sometimes a little hard to follow as it jumped back and forth. I knew beforehand that Firmino had become quite vocal about his faith so it doesn't really surprise that there's a chapter dedicated to it, and it was a subject throughout. It helps to understand Firmino as a person better as it has become such a big part of him but I still found it quite repetitive or of little interest. Nonetheless, when comparing this book with other recent ones like the one from Henderson, Robertson or Ljinders, this one was a more fascinating because he included some touchy subjects that the others avoided seeing they were still at the club at the point of publishing. This includes the Mané/Salah controversy, his previous faithlessness with his wife, frustrations around too little game time, being removed as penalty taker, and so forth.
I don't typically read autobiographical books as they tend to be biased and inaccurate. However, "Si Senor" finds a man at the crossroads of his career after establishing his home for so long. The background of the events required for dreams to come true. An admission of a shy man silently obsessed with fame and stardom. An honest reflection.
My only criticism is that there is an avoidance of detail in key moments or conversations. What EXACTLY was said in the locker room after the Mane a d Salah bustup? What EXACTLY did that text message say that upset Larissa?
These are minor details that give major revelations of the other person's perspective. All in all, it's a very good read.
I’m a proud Liverpool fan and was super excited to read this autobiography by the legend that is Bobby Firmino.
I enjoyed this so much, from reading about his early years through to reliving his successful, trophy-winning eight years with the reds. I found the chapter about finding faith in Christ beautiful. It was great to hear his side of things, including the ‘behind the scenes’ football talk and all about his beautiful family.
I was gutted when I heard Bobby was leaving - worse than when Gerrard left. Bobby was just that special talent that you always needed, be it starting a game or coming off the bench...
Told by Bobby, this is his story. A notoriously shy and reserved character it is good to hear his thoughts, his mindset, his sadness and reluctance to leave too.
All good things must come to an end and we will always be grateful for what we had, when we had him.
Really interesting insights into Bobby's thoughts and the backend of the peak and troughs of Klopp's Liverpool
however, it wasn't very well written, lots of repetition and the chronology didnt make too much sense. the title also says my liverpool years but it probably took about 90 pages till I reached the liverpool stuff
but otherwise, I felt I had to finish the book as he himself signed it for me.
love you Bobby firmino, You'll never walk alone

It was great reliving the Liverpool years when it was the most feared and dangerous on the planet. Thank you Bobby. I really loved how he navigated his life as he gre up. Coming from a usual proverty sticken society and having a heard working father, learning from him and around to being the Momma's boy to creating wonders on another continent and North West England. V
As a passionate lifelong Liverpool supporter, Bobby's autobiography was a must for me. It didn't disappoint. Lots of great information about his rise to professional level, and about his time at Liverpool and his own personal growth. A great read for LFC supporters or anyone who loves Bobby Firmino.
Interesting enough. It might be a 'me not you' issue but I've read a few football autobiographies/memoirs and there aren't many that have fully caught my attention.
Considering this was 'The Liverpool Years', Liverpool isn't covered for the first 100-odd pages. Some interesting insight but not a must-read.
Bobby Firmino is one of my fav Liverpool players, and I have been a supporter for more than 50 years. I really enjoyed this read from cover to cover - I like him even more now than I did now I understand the person behind the player and how far he has come since his younger days, and learned from so many mistakes he made - as a person - to change his life.
There's something that the kop wants you to know The best in the world his name is Bobby Firmino Our number nine Give him the ball and he'll score everytime Si Señor Pass the ball to Bobby and he'll score
I loved this book. Bobby Firmino was one of the best players I’ve seen play in a Liverpool shirt. To hear his story and journey through the Liverpool years was brilliant and eye opening.
As one of the quieter players in the Liverpool teams from the last 7/8 years, it was very interesting to hear everything from his point of view. Especially his starting struggles at the club and his last couple of seasons which were riddled by injuries. Great read.
Great to read the inside story from the champion player who was normally so quiet and let his football do the talking. I really appreciated his honesty and willingness and courage to share about his journey of faith as well. Some repetition but overall I really enjoyed it.
if you like football biographies then perfect. I liked sharing about his conversions and enjoyed the stories and development of the 'no-look goal'. it's difficult to write a biography of this nature for football and book fans. Glad I read it, if you like LFC and Firmino then I'd recommend it.
This is not a literary masterpiece and nor does it pretend to be one, but it is a great read by my favourite Liverpool player and takes us behind the scenes throughout his electric Anfield, German and Brazilian career.
