Forbidden Lessons is the electrifying start to the Academic Affairs M/M romance series by Ryan Reed. This novella immerses readers in a world where societal norms are defied. If you like tension-filled age gaps, steamy encounters, and thought-provoking themes, prepare to be hooked.
Ryan Reed writes spicy M/M romance that pushes boundaries and explores social taboos. His stories feature authentic, multidimensional characters grappling with the complexities of attraction and sexuality. When he’s not writing, Ryan enjoys eating tacos while stargazing on clear Texas nights.
This book read like it was written by AI. How do I know that? Humans write with a certain flare.. even if it’s bad, it’s unique in some way. This was like a copy/paste. It was actually a little bizarre and furthers my belief that MM has lost its soul and integrity.
This was a quick, low angst teacher/student age gap with insta love. Julian is 41 and has recently discovered that he's gay, divorced his wife and moved across the country where he teaches English Literature a college. Alex is in his early 20's a computer geek and dyslexic. He's struggled with his learning disability his whole life but has fought hard to be his best and have fantastic grades in order to be accepted to his dream job with a silicone valley company when he graduates in a few months time. He approaches his professor for extra help to do well in the class but doesn't count on the of the wall chemistry the two feel for each other. When they get found out by a jealous student, they have to be very careful to keep their distance until the term is over if they want to make their relationship work.
One could feel the chemistry between them and the book was entertaining. Whilst I enjoyed the book and the characters, I felt that at times certain scenes were skipped and I was left wondering what happened and wish the author had spent a bit more time filling in these gaps.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story of Julian and Alex. Hot sexy professor and computer wiz show their vulnerabilities and experience love, support, and respect . I also the story of Eli and Mal. Love is ageless when you find the right partner.
With how the characters just jumped right in, there wasn't much tension or development and suddenly they were already in love. But as it progressed and got a little angsty, it got better and we got to see more of the characters and how they fit together. Still seems a little superficial but I liked the reality of the professor getting caught and going through the tribunal/investigation as consequences, which isn't something that's often explored in these teacher/student stories.
Julian is in the midst of change. Recently discovering he's gay, getting divorced, and accepting a new job. Alex is 20, a student who struggles with dyslexia and maintaining his school work to attain his dream job in Slilicon Valley. The attraction and chemistry between them is scorching hot from the beginning. They do face some angst as they're almost discovered by a jealous student and have to hide their relationship and decide if it's worth the risk.
