"This book is a masterpiece. The future of work belongs to those who embrace neurodiversity and this book is the perfect guide to start making that happen!" Lisette Schipper, Neurodiversity Advocacy Lead, Google
“An information-packed guide bursting with knowledge, experience and support to help you get what you need from the workplace in accordance with the law and best practice.” Sam Walkley, XVO Legal
Please this book is focused on the context of ADHD and UK employment, covering topics such as Access to Work and the Equality Act 2010. However, the principles should be applicable to anybody who wants to make ADHD work at work.
An invaluable insight into making the most of ADHD at work, as an employee, employer, manager, and mentor. The angles of approach and thought on the subject, the value achieved, the possibilities to tap... It's fascinating. Leanne has identified the how, what, when and why of disclosure, navigation, coaching, management, and more.
Why 4-stars instead of 5-stars? The book is undoubtedly an advert for ADHD Works, Leanne's coaching and support service, but its repetition was overwhelming. I didn't need to hear it called out time and again. Perhaps it was my ADHD that made it a problem, calling out success in such an obvious way when no one was calling out my own in getting to the next page, the next chapter...
A good read with valuable insight and helpful advice on approaching many areas, including Access to Work, structured templates and more. Recommended.
This book didn't meet my expectations. Following Leanne on social media, I hoped for way more specific and practical advice.
Unfortunately, many of the suggestions are quite generic. The content isn't well organized and is very repetitive. ADHD coaching is mentioned (advertised) in almost every section.
The biggest issue is that most of the content (like 75%) is related to UK-specific laws, rules, and programs that aren't relevant elsewhere.
The valuable chapters of the book, which tackle the topic of dealing with ADHD in the workplace, building on its strengths, managing people - are only about 15 to 20% of the book.
Leanne’s knowledge is incredibly valuable. This book is a brilliant addition to her first ADHD book ‘ADHD: an A to Z’, with this focused on managing ADHD at work.
