Tonight I'm Leaving the Light On in which she writes intimately about love and loss, finishes up with the brilliant quatrain "But - hark - there's light inside my soul. I recall this from times of old. A light as bright as liquid gold! Tonight, I'm turning my light on." Exquisite!
Ger White's poems are lyrical in nature and they touch the heart and soul of what it's like to be human in this day and age. She is a writer who understands the human condition about which she writes in a lyrical and humorous way and has the very fine ability to talk of death and its resonance without depressing the reader - she always leaves us in a place of quiet uplift by the time the poem is done.
Ger has the true storyteller's voice that is her West of Ireland heritage. Lucky her!

Wow! What a brilliant collection from the talented storyteller and poet Ger White. The wonderful book is divided into sections: On Pleasure, On Love, On Loss, On Kindness, and finishes with 20 haiku. Ger writes gentle poems about what it’s like to be human in this day and age and they provide the reader with a wonderful opportunity to take a moment to read and ponder the meaning, beauty, and depth of life. Some of my favorites are: “Train Journey” which is about chance meetings, the choices we make, and how they can affect us. “Embracing Moments” is about the love one has for a father. “The True Gift Is Kindness” is a perfect reminder of what is important not only during the holiday season but any time of year. Ger’s poems are lyrically written and very accessible. One of her haiku is: “I do not forget My beautiful memories Forever with me.” What a lovely sentiment! Reading Ger’s poems is like curling up in a comfortable blanket with a warm cup of tea in front of a flickering fireplace. It’s a good way to spend one’s time. I highly recommend this collection.

It brings me great joy that this book by my prolific Irish poet friend Ger White is out in the world!
"Celtic Visions" is a book of poems about loss, love, community, animals, spirituality, Ireland, Nature, family, and the gift of being alive in the present. It is the perfect book to read at a coffeeshop, bookshop, pub, or at home. It was an absolute honor to endorse this book!

My favorite poem from Celtic Visions is "Irish Love." I like how it captures the powerful sacred bond of devotion between two people.
