The Night Crusaders have a mission: eradicate the evil Spawns and protect innocents from the misuse of the technological magic known as casterfire. Two teens—Cedrick Palmer Cameron and Michelle Castillo—will take up the challenge.
Casterfire is the created magic of humanity. Forged in another time and place, casterfire changes the entire reality of a human being, bestowing great power to protect innocents from the misuse of this magic. As a Night Crusader tells Michelle upon offering this incredible power:
"You will no longer be human as you comprehend it. Your friends and family will see you as the Michelle Castillo they have always known and loved but they will not see the world you're a part of. It's a world with its own demons and angels, its own heavens and its own hells. Both its benefits and its sorrows shall be yours."
The Spawns are the creation of casterfire—creatures that masquerade as humans, yet have murder on their minds. By slaying another technomancer (a user of casterfire), they may evolve into a more powerful creature whose fury could shake the world. Their latest target is an unknown student at Addison's Academy For Girls in central Florida.
In Cedrick's hand is a Japanese sword. In Michelle's hand is a battle glove bathed in fire. Together, these two heroes will see combat in a 190 page story that kicks off a saga of pulse-pounding action, suspense, mystery and danger.
