Coming to Divinos Academy drastically changed my life. I’d completely given up hope of ever having a meaningful existence. I had every intention of ending it all, but fate had other plans for me. Instead of finding one reason to live – I found four!
Four extremely assertive, arrogant, compelling alphaholes that made me irrevocably fall in love with them. I never fathomed the possibility that two of them would be taken away from me as soon as my back was turned – nor the lengths I WILL go to, to get them back!
This time my enemies have gone too far – I don’t just want to get even. Oh no…I want them crushed and broken beyond repair. I want them to suffer, to hurt, to beg and to know real pain. Then and only then will I put them out of their misery! Mark my words…I WILL have my revenge!!!
*If you are fans of Caroline Peckham, Tate James, Jaymin Eve, Elizabeth Briggs and like fantasy/paranormal romances, with steam, action, suspense and a kickass heroine, this is for you. Divinos Vengeful is book 4 of the series. This is a light bully romance and is now a completed series. This book contains romantic scenes and adult language. Please read the trigger warnings.
SYNOPSIS (of 4 Book Series): This series is set in an alternate world inhabited by individuals who can control one or more elements (fire, water etc.). The FC‘s (Elena) mother died when she was young which made her father obsessed with keeping her safe and making her as strong as possible through black magic. Her father dies and she is sent to Juvi for 5 years. When she leaves she finds she has a scholarship to Divinios Academy. There she meets the 4MCs. There is some initial bullying then the story focuses on the fact that she is the strongest elementals and there is a faction that wants to take her powers and usurp the reigning queen.
Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🍆🍆🍆🍆 - the sex scenes pick up through the books and there are a lot of them. There are group scenes, one on one with some kink. Personally I found them crudely written and not particularly hot despite the graphic detail.
Where to start? This series is terrible. I wasn’t really reading the books by book 2 just skimming through as it was so painful to read. They desperately need editing and proof reading (apparently the FC needs “assorting” back to school🙄); the writing itself is clunky and crude (both in writing style and the characters); the story is weak; and there is no depth just a series of events stated one after the other: FC’s mother goes to supermarket and dies; FC’s father turns obsessive and dies; FC sent to juvi; FC gets scholarship and goes to academy; FC is strongest elementalist … Note that I am not giving spoilers here because all this happens in the space of a few chapters! There’s no real description of the FC’s life after her mother dies (or before for that matter), she’s sent to juvi for killing her father but the reasons this happened are glossed over; there’s no detail as to what happened in juvi as the book goes from her father being alive to her leaving juvi in about 2 pages. The scholarship is just a head scratcher as all you hear about it is that someone (FC doesn’t know who) gave her a scholarship to an elite academy for reasons she doesn’t know or even seem to care about but she still decides she might as well go.
The FC is just completely unlikeable as are most of the MCs. She’s rude, crude and juvenile. There’s nothing that the author says that makes her even slightly appealing including her constant swearing for no reason. I think this author equates swearing and rudeness with a cool, kickass heroine. It doesn’t work. For example, she is picked up from juvi in a chauffeur driven car. The driver tries to take her bag and put it in the boot and she just hurls abuse at him; she arrives at the academy and the deputy headmistress acts superior so the FC spews abuse. The way FC treats Hunter is disgusting and just nasty. I didn’t understand the point of his storyline as he was just a punching bag for the main characters. Putting him in the position she did then not even wanting to follow through on her promise 😠 and what was the date with Hunter all about? The MCs are just juvenile bullies and the scene completely pointless. The FC just allowed this poor boy to be constantly belittled and bullied and she was the worst.
The MCs are not likeable and you get no background on them except a bit on Blake. They’re very one dimensional and the bullying nasty and basic with Blake constantly telling the FC she’s a murdered; Roman calling her “trash” and Camden just make ins inappropriate sexual advances. Roman is crude, abusive and just a nasty piece of work. He’s gratuitously nasty to people (note how he treats the FC when he has her beaten up and makes some random boy cut off his dreadlocks just because he can). The way he tells the FC to get on her knees and talks about sex to her is completely disrespectful and mysoginistic (not shades of grey hot). Cayden is just one dimensional with an inability to think or talk about anything other than sex and his behaviour is just cringeworthy. I mean, at the end of a big battle scene where hundreds have died all he can say is it made him “hard” (this is the same scene where the FC, standing amid dead bodies, gets her “knickers wet” watching the MC brutally kill someone). Seriously? What is WRONG with this author? Does she think this is hot or sexy? It’s just wrong and disgusting 🫣
There are so many inconsistencies and nonsensical storylines. On the one hand the FC is supposed to be the most powerful elementalist and yet she is constantly being attacked and overcome; the villains (and there are a few OTT villains in this story) can kill, stab and abuse people but apparently nothing happens to them they can return to school or their jobs with no issue yet when the FC/MCs do the smallest thing they’re in big trouble. Why wasn’t Britney arrested? Why was Zoltar allowed back at school? 😡 The Queen is useless, she just sits there letting people get killed left and right doing nothing to fight back whilst the biggest villain just goes around killing whoever he wants.
All in all this is a weak story with unlikeable characters and bad narrative.
Equally filled with happiness and the deepest sorrow that this series is done. I feel it was a beautifully fitting end. I couldn't stop reading it consumed every spare second I had *and many I didn't #SorryKidsMummyIsReading.* so many beautifully stunning scenes. So many heart in my mouth moments. It was just perfect 🥰. This series were my first reads from each of the authors and I can say with certainty they won't be my last.
The first 2 books were great! But book 3 and 4 dragged. I especially skipped a few chapters and skim read a lot in book 4… also Elena just became so unlikable and a mean girl since book 3. What she did to Hunter was messed up. Also the way she treated Katie for so long when it was her fault for being all secretive when Katie has always been her one and only true friend since DAY 1! Katie had every right to be upset and need space, but then Elena always switches it up and puts the focus on her and act like the victim 🫠 Elena was doing too much in book 3 and 4, she needs to chill tf out 😂 this book was lowkey boring. The only saving point was the Katie/Lucas plot. Wish we heard more about them instead of raging b Elena 😂
This series has me emotionally wrapped around its little pages! I was right there experiencing ever emotion the author plotted out and then some. Well done Jessica L. Lee and Kelly Wightman, well done.
Note 1: In the interest of full disclosure, I was involved in the editing of this novel.
Note 2: Please read the authors’ trigger warning statement at the beginning of the book.
This was an incredible adventure with a breath-taking conclusion in this, the final novel of the “Divinos Academy of Adiriel” series.
While I am not usually a huge fan of this genre, I came to love the characters that Jessica Lee and Kelly Wightman had created. I can truly say that some of the things that, for me, make a story great is character development and evolution, as well as world-building – and, as I’ve said before, both of these authors excel at those aspects of storytelling.
At first, I wasn’t sure I liked many of the main characters; however, Jessica and Kelly managed to gradually and persistently turn all of these characters into endearing heroes. By the end of this series, I was fully engaged with all of them. And, the cherry on top was that these authors wrote believable motivations for the growth of their characters – another plus for me, and the main reason I’m giving this novel a five-star rating.
The world creation is something else I enjoyed with this series, in general, and with this novel, in particular. The authors’ fantasy setting was always consistent, engaging, and creative. The world of “Adiriel” is not only populated with interesting people, but also with fascinating creatures. I found myself wanting to experience more of the flora and fauna of this world, and that is a testament to Jessica’s and Kelly’s abilities.
Finally, I was very pleased with the fact that the authors didn’t leave any loose ends and that there was a nicely-written HEA for Elena and her harem.
Even though I admit to being a bit biased, I still highly recommend this novel – and the entire series – to fans of the supernatural academy/reverse harem genre. And, I would advise everyone to buckle up – it’s a wild and exhilarating ride!
I stumbled across a tiktok and the photo teasers caught my attention, after reading the synopsis on kindle I downloaded the book and I was not disappointed.
I read this 4 book series in 2 days! I liked the writing style it was great, and with details that had it very easy to quickly get pulled into the story and storyline of Elena and her men. I will admit that the fast pace of the book got me hooked, but don’t be fooled because yes there was a few times that I was frustrated with the one branch of the story. I actually never wanted to DNF it so don’t be fooled, it was just that one aspect that made me frustrated haha though without that part the ending wouldn’t have happened how it did even tho I felt frustrated at it and the characters haha.
The banter and interactions between all the characters is fun and definitely was happy that I ended up taking a chance and reading this series as I was in a book slump. All in all this was a great series and if you choose to read it you will not be disappointed.
Glad that I stuck with it and finished the series.
In a sense this final book is quite dark in places lots of death and devastating spells. I got frustrated early on in the series because at least two of Elena’s guys come across as incredibly juvenile and pretty unlikeable people. You’d think that being born into royal families/ high society that they might be more self aware and concerned about the wider population? Not so much really. * SPOILER * After a quick foray, I completely skipped the section with Elena & Hunter’s date.
I found the FMC’s origins frustrating as well, convicted of a crime she didn’t commit…in a culture that has magic to easily determine between truth and lies I’d expect the legal system to be more comprehensive than relying on a judge who didn’t like the look of someone. Then I keep reminding myself that it’s a YA series. So yes I found several bits of the series frustrating but provided you aren’t looking deeply at the story it’s a fairly good read.
Ok after finishing all four books I must say they have their pros and cons. The storyline has the potential to be great, although it felt like a lot was taken from the Harry Potter books it’s easy to look over. I loved the characters. However I felt that at times the storyline jumped about and left you thinking how are we here. It also left some lacklustre explanations for a lot of things that happened or glossed over it completely. There are also more than average spelling and grammar errors than other similar books. As well as a few continuity errors such as one minute wearing jeans the next leggings. I think with the right editing to fix these issues the book series could be amazing as well as adding in more detail particularly around Judas. A good attempt at a book series overall but not quite making it to top tier just yet
I love these books. From book 1 through to book 4 this was a page turner story. The characters are perfect and Cayden is my absolute favorite ❤️. The story of Eliana and her guy’s comes with mad scientists, secret societies, and power hungry villains. But in the end family, love and loyalty wins and alliances get stronger.
I would love to know if Zane got his own family 😀 I would highly recommend these books if you love adventure, stubborn female leads, and crazy alpha males with spells flying in quick succession. Enjoy
So I typically dont really read books with multiple authors but when I start this series I was very pleased that I did. Not only was the storytelling was amazing. It grab my attention and had me wanting more. Book 4 has a great ending and I can say I wanted more of this authors books. So if you want to try a new book with pnr and why choose tropes then this book is the one for you. it grabbed my attention and had me to reading and not wanting to stop reading it at all.
Elena was really unlikable in this book and the guys were as well. I thought the characters had all developed beyond their negative sides, but this book just seemed to move along without much direction with everyone being more annoying as it went. The series started out great. There were grammar issues throughout which i didn't care too much about. I loved the side characters' POV chapters and wished there were more of those. A good series but wasn't one of my favourites.
The journey she has been on.. love, betrayal, lost, family, revenge.. she came from grieve driven upbringing to having a four powers only see has. To men who weren’t sure what they wanted falling for the new girl… competing who was getting her attention… loving four men equally.. losing a power.. losing a piece of herself to kidnapping… death of her family… to uncontrollable rage.. theee War!!! To the win!!! To finally being a true family and having her own children…
It was good I liked the ending and I feel like I actually enjoyed reading about the guys in this book. Cayden was especially funny in this book several times. I do hate how dragged out they wanted to make Boyce’s death felt like they were prolonging the war when there were multiple times to kill him. I understand he hurt them and they wanted revenge but… it was stupid of them.
What a fantastic way to end this book series!! I have been gripped from the start and I feel slightly sad that it has now come to an end. My husband likes the sound of this book series but only listens to audible. We feel like this would make a great book to listen to on our car journeys!
That ending was something. One of the best endings I've read in a book for ages. a proper fight scene that lasted longer than 3/4 pages. Just brilliant, 5 stars simply for the ending. Still had far too many errors.
This series is AMAZING!! Whenever I was t working, I was reading them. The FMC is badass! I love a strong female lead who doesn’t take shit from anyone. The spice is chefs kiss 🤌 I highly recommend these books!!
Excellent series well written excellent plot and well deserved five stars would highly recommend this series will definitely look forward to more from this author
i love the epic final battle seen in fantasy books they always have me stressing and on the edge of my seat the only thing i didn’t like was i wished there was a bonus epilogue about River, Malek, Tate, and Zane also with Lucas and Katie
