Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, is a husband, father, humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate, and environmentalist. He resides in Santa Barbara, California, with his family and three dogs.
I admittedly knew nothing about the royal family or close to nothing, except for some basics. While I think Prince Harry is being sincere and honest about what happened to him and his wife; it seems like some of his story does seem one sided. I do believe they were wronged greatly by the press and his family, but it’s hard when you are only hearing the one side (and that side believes they did absolutely nothing wrong.) Regardless, going through something like what he went through would be unimaginably difficult.
Interesting and entertaining. It made me laugh, and it made me cry. It was interesting to get insights into the life of Harry from trying to go to the grocery store, to letting his clothes dry on top of the radiator. For some reason I had assumed he had people to do that, but apparently not. Interesting to hear about his war days, childhood, and of course, meeting Meg and the press and castle betrayals.
This book didn't really change my opinion of anyone.I think they are all spoiled and crazy.lol Though I tend to think Harry's fate was sealed when the "Heir and the Spare" kept being tossed about to describe the two brothers. It had a part in the rivalry. The family didn't help discourage it.Clearly Harry suffered trauma when his mother's death happened. He had problems before Meghan came along. There are many ways to look at it.Harry and Meghan love each other or misery loves company. I think Harry felt he was fighting a losing battle and didn't feel seen or heard.Writing this book and making it public may not have been the best idea because usually family stuff should bee handled by family behind closed doors.Harry probably reached a point where he felt what's the use? Some ofhis experiences were interesting.I like hearing each person's side instead of from a boring journalist who thinks they know everything and fabricates it. I can relate to not having a family anymore. It is a shame it has come to this, and King Charles's grandchildren are in the middle of it. I pray a better more peaceful life is in store for those kids.Don't be like your parents.
Positives. Harry dictates it all beautifully, he has a lovely voice. I found it insightful hearing how our royals treat each other.
Negatives. Very wow me, many people loose a parent at a young age, “Harry your not the only one” and yet he talks like he is. Carrying it around with him like a ball and chain of grief.
Shocked. Drug taking. Drinking. And his naivety, “dressing up as a Nazi!” And a royal doing all his dirty washing in public and publishing it, not sure it’s necessary.
There are two sides to every story, it’s left a sour taste in my mouth.
I laughed, I cried, I sat with my mouth agape, I felt anger, I felt love. It’s raw, it’s real, and I loved every line. I think it was incredibly brave of Prince Harry to write this and I think the world needs to read it. So often do people forget that each human, no matter how famous, or royal, or talented, is…well, human. I think many need to be reminded of that often. In a world full of spectacle after spectacle, coverups, gossip, and hidden truths, this was refreshing to read.
I think talking about his member was a bit much but overall I appreciated the perspective and the insight into the hardships of being rich and powerful
