Christopher CJ Wells was the infamous playboy of SK Design of fashion’s company known around the world. At 23 years old, he was on top of the world but something was missing from his life and that something he thought he could never get back, that was until he noticed his brother’s interest in a certain intriguing young woman that he could barely get a glimpse of. Every time he saw them together from a far, he’d fi ne himself glued to her every movement, even something as small as the slight breeze blowing through her short curly hair. She wore shades most of the time but he could never shake the feeling that for some reason she was what he had been waiting for. Th e only problem was his little brother was growing attached to her….falling for her. Young Brandon Wells had often felt second best to his famous brother that was until he met Len. Len was the type of girl that was down to earth, spoke her mind, and liked him for who he was and not whom he was related to. Th at was quite refreshing for a young college student like Brandon Wells who was always referred to by the female species as CJ Wells’ cute little brother. Len was beautiful, sexy, and easy to talk too. He was really feeling her, but she was still stuck in the past and he was determined to break through that wall and make her his future. Braylen had left her heart in Chicago a long time ago and it hadn’t beat since but why was it that every time Brandon’s brother pulled up she felt a slight twitch of her heart…something she hadn’t felt in almost six years. Why was it that every time she looked into Brandon’s eyes she felt she was looking at someone else. Braylen had to stay focused on her studies and making a better life for her and her young son. She had no time for dates and wondering what lied in Brandon’s eyes. She knew Brandon was looking for more in their friendship but she didn’t have anything else to give. She felt guilty for stringing him alone but truth be told she was lonely and he reminded her of someone…someone she never forget and thought she never see again. However, life had other plans for her.
Born and raised in Ohio, Kyra Gates became an avid reader late in life. After being encouraged to read a popular series she couldn’t stop. The only issue is that she continued reading the same series over and over again until her husband said, “Why don’t you just write your own book,” after writing her first book Walkers, a fantasy fiction romance that later turned into a novel she fell in love with creating her own alternative world in stories.
A few years later, her manager now close friend introduced her to Urban Fiction…wasn’t her favorite but from there she found African American Romance and is often not seen without her nose buried in her iPad or book. With two kids, a husband, a dog, and a successful youth volleyball program she has to find odd and creative ways to read and write; the bathroom and her car has become her sanctuary.
Soon after she began her first romance series Serenity which is based loosely on her own life’s situations a new part of imagination has opened and she hasn’t looked back. She’s not quite where she wants to be yet but is working toward that goal of one day being a nationally known author.
Her work includes, Walkers, Tortured Soul, and Infinity which is the fantasy fiction series Walkers. Her romance collection includes, Serenity, Is Your Heart Still Mine, Chocolate Angel, One More Night, and A Promise to Keep all part of the Serenity series. There are two more books coming to conclude this series.
Her latest series Harris Family Values includes All I Need Is Patience and coming soon Beautiful Storm, Cherish, Surrender, and Second Treasure.

I really enjoyed " Is your heart still mine". The story has a good tone and rhythem to it. From the begining of the book, it touches on the childhood crush that we all experience. That first "forbidden kiss", how long time childhood friends unite again and that special someone that you deeply full in love with. It was interesting to see how Braylen, inspite of her home environment, turns out to be very responsible and respectable. I can relate to some of the characters, espically, Chris and Brandon. Another thing, I really enjoyed the way that the main females characters inside the book(Kelly, Braylen, Sasha and mother Wells)carried themselves. They are great example of how the madia faslely display the image of my sisters(not all are willing to sell their souls for fame). I give it 5 stars! Chris Wells is the man!!! Way to stand up for what you love Bruah.
It was short but I enjoyed it, now I'm ready for the bigger book and I'm sort of anxious to read Brandon's story. The situation in the book hit home for me in a sense, I remember when my parents divorced and we where left basically to fend for ourselves. Thank god I didn't have the mother from hell. The only thing I would say that I was a little disappointed in was not knowing what ever happened to her mother but I guess that could possibly lead into another story. I did feel bad for Brandon and I am interested in knowing how his story will go though I don't think that Braylen's goodfriend is the one for him.
I felt something was missing from the ending, but other than that pretty good read. This was the story of two people that knew what they wanted a long time ago but lost each other do to growing pains, once they found each other it was a fight to get reunited. Brandon the little brother of CJ falls for the Braylen and becuase of all the pain that CJ has already caused Brandon he backs off. I thought this story was pretty good because I felt the pain of both brothers and understood them both. It was terrible what happened to Braylen, but she's a strong woman and did what she had to do to survive. I don't want to say much more, the story is shorter than what I'm use to reading from this author but it was a good story, I just wanted to know more in the end.
The second edition is much better finished April 1, 2013
This was pretty good. I liked the chemistry between all three characters Braylen, Brandon, and CJ. I felt Brandon's anger becuase I too have been in that situation with my brother and we almost came to blows. I would have given five stars had it been longer. This is more of a story ladies and gents not overly done with sex (which isn't bad, but I thought I would mention that). Its just like I said short and sweet. Its the second book to the Serenity series if you follow this author. If you don't then you should.
This is my favorite in the Serenity series. It isn't as long as I would have liked it to be but I love it none the less. And the greatest part about it is that I wrote it! Sorry I've read this a few times and everytime it's a new experience. Fall in love with Braylen and Chris and meet the young Future CEO Mr. Brandon Wells. I think that why loved this book because I wrote it from their point of view so you get to see how they all felt. It is also the book before my very first edited book Chocolate Angel. Both available on Amazon.
I liked it, it was cute. I can't wait to read Brandon's story, please tell me he gets one. The ending almost brought me to tears. It was much shorter than Serenity but I liked it nonetheless.
