Grimoires of London 3

Rate this book
After successfully rescuing Adai’s father, Jasper Zingaro, the Curators realize that the Iron Order’s next target is the Houses of Parliament. In doing this, the Iron Order hope to usher in a new age of magical governance, headed by the mysterious and still faceless nemesis, Suzerain.

Joe and his friends must ready themselves for the coming showdown. With new items purloined by Vasmo, and the potential of bonds with new magical creatures, Joe aims to make himself an even more formidable a mage than before.

Hopefully it’ll enable him to save Aida's mother, Central London, the day, and—on a side note—a bunch of politicians.

Finished this book straight after the previous two in the series. Absolutely great book. Cannot wait for the series to continue. Roll on book 4 (and 5 and 6 and 7 ....)

Great book, until the last 10 pages

I really have enjoyed reading this series with the interesting characters and plotlines. The first chapters of each book are fun lead ins with the two oldsters giving some humor and perspective. Well written and kept my interest. Unfortunately the last few pages of this one lead right down a predictable path that I think I probably won't feel like following. But other readers might, so wishing them well.

Very lightweight easy read. I do wish the author would ask a British person to read it. Hearing a British OAP use a very American phrase or having the British characters playing a North American card game or referring to the Palace of Westminster as the heart of English politics (it’s the UK parliament) grates a lot. A bit more research and some better editing (Westminster palace becomes Westminster abbey at one point) would make this more enjoyable.

Keeps getting better!

Each book in this series gets better, the funny moments land better and the characters become more interesting. The story has good pace and a few surprises.

Vasmo randomly disappears off for most of the book which is not properly explained which is a bit weird-presumably will come together in the next book? Looking forward to it anyway

Fantastic book, funny and well written. I just wish he'd write the next one. The story is complete but somehow still ends like a cliffhanger.
