Princess Minna loves to sort out mix-ups and mishaps in the kingdom! In this full-colour illustrated chapter book, join her on her hilarious adventure up the beanstalk! Princess Minna lives in Castle Tall-Towers with the King and Queen, Raymond the Wizard and her best dragon friend, Lorenzo. There are often mix-ups and mishaps in the kingdom and Princess Minna loves to sort them out! She can tame unicorns, kiss frogs and fight dragons (apart from Lorenzo) and she is very good at fixing things before it's time for bed. A giant beanstalk has grown up in the kingdom and the giant who lives at the top of it keeps stealing things from the townsfolk! Is Minna brave enough to climb the beanstalk and bring back the stolen things, and will the giant EAT HER if she does? Full of colourful illustrations, these short, funny stories are perfect for readers just moving on from picture books and visual readers.
PRINCESS MINNA: THE GIANT BEANSTALK is a delightful new chapter book with lots of color and a story about solving problems. Princess Minna is frequently fixing the problems that arise in her kingdom, so when there is a large beanstalk and a giant stealing animals, Minna is ready to help. She soon discovers a giant has been searching for an animal whose beautiful voice she hears all the way in the sky. After some discussion, Minna figures out the giant is looking for Mildred, the musical cow that annoys the townspeople, and Minna comes up with a solution that will make everyone happy.
What I loved: This is another fun installment in the Princess Minna series that modifies from fairytales for brand new adventures. There are plenty of silly moments for readers to giggle at (of course, you have to be careful where you drop your magic beans!) and the overall story is a clever one that changes the story of the beanstalk and giant. In the end, Minna finds a solution that works for everyone and saves the day.
The book is highly illustrated and colorful with every page in full color and with cartoonish images. These work so well for young independent readers who are advancing from picture books but not yet ready to leap into full chapter books. The amount of text on each page varies, which also works well to not tire readers out. They can explore at their own pace and enjoy all the images and color along the way!
Final verdict: PRINCESS MINNA: THE GIANT BEANSTALK is a fun chapter book about solving problems and finding solutions that is perfect for advancing independent readers!
Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
The Best Princess, The Giant Beanstalk, and The Wicked Wood are a few of the phenomenal books in this farytale twist series! The first time I read a Princess Minna story I fell in love. These chapter books are witty, fun, vibrant, creative, humerous, magical, and whimsical! Each story includes elements of a classic fairytale but are completely new stories. Princess Minna is a spunky, problem solving, go getter who is always up for an adventure. I adore this magical land, girl power, and the fun twists on classic fairytale staples.Of these books The Best Princess might be my favorite because Princess Minna grapples with jealousy and learns a very important lesson.
Princess Minna is called to defend the town from a giant who keeps stealing noisy animals. Princess Minna follows the giant up the beanstalk and brings the animals back, but the giant just keeps stealing more noisy animals, looking for an animal that can sing beautifully. Princess Minna will have to be very clever and kind if she can find a solution and help the giant!
This chapter book is so hilarious and cute! I love the colorful illustrations on each page and the wild shenanigans and adventures. The story is really funny and clever, and Princess Minna is completely adorable!
