An avenger. A champion. A heroine. Only the strongest will survive.
The country is at a tipping point. Raven's community is on the verge of collapse, Riley is back to fighting for her life, and Karissa is on her way to wipe out the entire population. The X drug is being distributed, class divide is at an all time high, and it'll take the girls everything they have to survive. But as events unfold, the girls are about to realize that everything they thought they knew can soon be turned on its head.
Hayley Anderton is an author, reader, baker and crazy cat lady, born and raised in the North West of England. She strives for diversity in her writing, and believes that books can change the world. She graduated from John Moores University in 2017, and is now searching for her next adventure.
The Last Girls on Earth by Hayley Anderton, a five book series dystopian tale set in a future Britain plagued by overpopulation, poverty, and political unrest. The story centres on three protagonists: Raven, a thief; Riley a cage fighter; and Karissa a soldier. Their journeys are distinct yet interconnected, offering unique perspectives on survival in a fractured world.
The author’s writing is sharp and immersive, creating a vivid and unsettling vision of a reality not too far removed from a possibility if I’m being honest. The narrative’s fast pace keeps the tension high, making it difficult to put the book down.
The characters are compelling, with diverse backgrounds and struggles that add depth and relatability to their stories. The interplay between individual struggles and the larger societal issues enriches the narrative, making it both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Overall, The Last Girls on Earth is a gripping, thought-provoking read. Highly recommended if you love fast-paced, character-driven dystopian stories that offer a mix of action, emotion, and social commentary.
the emotional connection u have to these girls is something. seeing them all live completely different life’s but all fighting to face their struggles and come out on top. each and every one of them losing people they love but never giving up, taking back their anger and their power to set the world on fire for their own reasons.
for such short books they really do pack a punch, I love the multi POV’s, the fast paced plot and the range of characters. just super fun
Writing this one absolutely drained me! It’s the most brutal book of the series so far and it feels like the beginning of the end with this series! But I’m so excited to see what everyone thinks 🩷
Woah, I devoured this one! I'm kinda shocked I've already finished it. This is deffo the best book in the series so far though. It was SO explosive and had so many emotions. Each girl is put through things they'd never imagined happening to them... And it was excellent watching them try to pull themselves together.
Raven is still my favourite, and her story broke my heart. I'm intrigued to follow her in the next book.
Riley's story was intense!!! And I'm deffo excited to learn more about the journey she is going to face in the next book and the people she will meet on the way.
Karissa! Gosh, that was stressful!! Her story is kinda wild!!! Always good to see some emotion with her despite everything she has to do. I wasn't expecting that ending either!
It's hard to write about as I do not want to give away any spoilers. In a dystopian world / thriller... usually who we begin with, won't be who we end with... and lots of shocking things happen along the way! This book really highlights that! I very much recommend this series. Each book works like an episode of a TV show, so at around 100 pages each, you can devour it quickly! And like me, sit impatiently for the next one. It's worth the wait though! Hayley keeps getting better and better and I love her writing!
Book Four in The Last Girls On Earth series was so good!
I understand why author Hayley Anderton said this was brutal. We are still following the same three girls; Karissa, Raven, and Riley, which each girls' storyline taking a wicked turn in Wrath. I am so vested in each of their stories and the outcomes they could bring. If I'm being honest, I can't wait for the moment all three girls run into one another. Each a force to be reckoned with in their own right. In addition to our three FMCs, we have a diverse cast of secondary characters and so on. The author does a great job of adding a wide variety to her books.
Anderton continues to develop this absolute wicked dystopian world that gets more messed up as we delve further onto the story line.
Wrath is filled with tons of strife and action. It's face paced and unputdownable.
Highly recommend The Last Girls On Earth to any dystopian fan!
Another great novella in the Last Girls On Earth series. Wrath is the fourth book in the series and continues Raven, Karissa and Riley’s stories in the dystopian world they live in.
Anderton has created a truly believable and disturbing dystopian world where these three FMCs and their friends/family struggle and fight to survive. Filled with action and strife, this series is very entertaining and enjoyable (though upsetting) to read.
The character development of these three girls has continued through the series and now I’m totally invested in their stories and finding out how they’re going to end up.
If you’ve been reading the Last Girls on Earth series, then you’re going to love the next book in the saga. If you’re not reading it, what are you waiting for? Highly recommend for any dystopian fan.
Book 4 in the series - wow, what can I say, this one packs a powerful punch to the gut in such a short space of time. It's left me emotionally exhausted and hungry for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this arc ebook as part of the indie visible tour. Huge thanks to Hayley for everything she does.
Wrath is the fourth book in The Last Girls on Earth by Hayley Anderton. Wrath takes off with a blast with Riley fighting in an arena with spectators looking on. The fight was awesome but so was Riley.
Riley has been forced back into fighting and being held against her will living in a cell. Riley was strong and fierce when she went up against her opponents taking them out without much problem at all. I could see each one of her opponents as she stood in that ring accessing each one trying to figure out what she needed to do to win the fight that lay before her and how long it was going to take her to get the job done.
Raven is being attacked by the jumpsuiters while trying to find her brother Jonah. Raven is also a fierce fighter in her own way doing what is necessary to get the job done.
Karissa is sent out on her first assignment as the team leader. No one expected Karissa to be team leader but she is who the boss lady chose. The details of Karissa’s mission must never make it out to the public.
Wrath pulled me deep into its world the moment I read that first page. The action never let up it kept me hanging on page after page wanting more and more. I couldn’t have stopped reading if I’d wanted to. The many twists and turns also helped to keep the pages turning.
After that ending, I can’t wait to read the next book in The Last Girls on Earth: Lust. I can’t wait to see what it holds. Where are our girls going next? What are they going to have to do just to survive?
I love the world that was created for The Last Girls on Earth. I can’t get enough of it.
I love The Last Girls on Earth so much that I highly recommend every book to all dystopian fans.
Grab a copy of Wrath today.
But I would like to suggest that the books be read in order so that you won’t miss a thing from this wonderful and amazing world.
●The Last Girls On Earth: Wrath by Hayley Anderton●
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
I absolutely devoured this book, it was so action packed and filled with so much suspense I couldn't stop reading. Each chapter ends with you wanting more, and the sneaky POV switches keep the intensity high!
I liked that this picked up right from where Greed left off, though because it's been a while I would've liked some reminders about the previous book mixed in at the beginning. The fighting begins right away, with Riley forced back into fighting, Raven trying to survive the deadly jumpsuiters attack and save her brother, and Karissa preparing for her first mission.
I adored the shocking plot twists in this book, it was definitely the most surprising one so far. I didn't expect the plot to take the turns it did, nor did I ever expect the deaths that occurred- they were so abrupt and challenged the characters in vicious ways. Everything only got worse for all three girls in this book, it felt like the peak of survival for them all, and with that they all reached their lows, but towards the end I'm glad to see that they all found their fight again too.
As per usual, the book ends with some major cliffhangers. I can't wait to see more of Raven's reunion with a certain character, find out answers Karissa has been searching for and see what Riley does now that she's found a group to rebel with.
ARC Reader - Well…this one was a heartbreaker! I suspected that this book would turn things up a notch for the series, and that was absolutely true. The stakes are at an all time high. Raven Riley and Karissa are thrown into even more brutal scenarios that tests their ability to survive, and are pushed to the brink of their capacity to cope in this dystopian nightmare.
I can’t say too much more without serious spoilers, but there are some very hard losses in this one and they left me feeling all the feelings. I wonder how this will play out for the next book… which I’m already eager for when this one is only released on 31st! I sped through this book in one sitting, and I’m really enjoying the character development throughout this series. If you haven’t read this series yet… you need to!!
This book was great, I enjoyed the way the plot unfolded in this one and that we got to see a lot more of the side characters doing things and having their moments to shine (at least in my opinion).
This book is called wrath and each of the three girls give into their wrath, turning their previous or new pain into anger. It was interesting to see but I did think that the girls lost a bit of their individuality in this book.
In previous books, all three girls felt different, their pain and anger and reactions were unique to them and their situation/lives, but in this book, the girls' anger and pain felt too blended together, less their own which is a shame for the book where their own wrath, which we've seen peeks of in the previous books, could have been shown so wonderfully and fully.
I’ve been a huge fan of this series and book number four saw me cursing the wait for number five. The Last Girls on Earth is by far my favourite Indie series and I love supporting the author as she’s developed three characters I’m truly invested in.
As the books progress so does the role these girls play in this bleak dystopian. Once a soldier, a thief and a cage fighter, now an avenger, a champion and a heroine. The ever developing plot unfolds to show new strengths and lengths these girls will go to survive.
At around 100 pages long, each book gives bite sized snippets into a world that no longer feels human. As always, I’m devastated I have to wait until book five is in my hands. Really I want all seven so I can just binge them from the start again.
Once again, a short but impactful read! I recently read the previous three books in the series in preparation for this review - I can easily say this one was the best yet!
As the plot has progressed these girls all have so much to fight for, but equally also have so much to lose. You can feel the desperation of Riley and Raven, you can see the pressure Karissa has on her to do the right thing.
The characters have been developed so beautifully that you can't help but connect with them! You want them to make the right choices to survive.
Once again things are left open by the end of the book, so that you're left waiting in expectation for the next in the series.
Had to re-read this story to bring me back up to date with the main characters and events they are facing, before commencing in Book 5 Lust.
Raven is back in the Pits facing un~natural, altered opponents. Riley wants to find her brother after he was taken from her after catching flu and Karissa is finally dropped into the true war zone. No more simulations but it's really not as she expected it to be.
Great story as ever making the task of turning the page addictive so you rush along wanting to find out what new challenges the girls will face next.
This series keeps getting better and better! Seriously, the emotional rollercoaster in this book is off the charts. My heart breaks for all three main characters, but Raven's storyline hit me the hardest! The world the author has built is so vivid; it's like you're right there with them, feeling and seeing everything through their eyes. Hence, all the emotions! The storytelling is top-notch, and those cliffhangers? I'm dying to know what happens next! It's going to be a tough wait for the next book, that's for sure!
This one was by far the most emotional yet, and man was it heart-wrenching. The amount of tension in here was crazy to the point where I almost wanted to skim stuff just to get farther ahead as fast as possible. So much action was crammed into these pages and the ending has me needing the next book so bad.
It's been really interesting to see all of our leading ladies put through the ringer to see whether they come out stronger or give up but I find myself rooting for all of them and I have a feeling we're getting really close to all of their storylines entertaining and I'm here for it.
I have read this series from the start. It's perfect for fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent. I love the diversity in the characters and their growth and development throughout the books so far. This one is packed full of action and suspense, always leaving us wanting more.
The author always does a brilliant job of bringing us into the world and making us feel for the characters, even if they make bad decisions. I highly recommend this book, and the first 3 in the series. It's nice and short, perfect to binge-read! And trust me, you'll not be putting it down.
Book 4 in this series and WOW! Just when I thought it couldn't get more brutal. Anderton really packs a punch with this instalment. The world feels so real, the choices made and the threats, I had to remind myself it was fiction. I don't know what's gonna happen next but I am counting down till book 5 is released as I need to know what's gonna happen to our 3 MCs.
This series is just fantastic, the twists, the reveals, you never know what's next. This book is a rollercoaster that I never wanted to stop.
Another action packed instalment following, Riley, Raven and Karrisa on their journey for a better life in a future where only the strong survive. Each in their own struggle with different hurdles to overcome. This was as good as I had hoped it would be and I already can't wait to read the next instalment. I wish the wait wasn't so long for the next one 😭 I can't wait to find out what happens next.
After losing Jonas, a devastated Raven is forced to press on, placing her faith uneasily in Drew...
After one death too many on her conscience, Riley makes a fresh start when she meets Antonia, the leader of a biker gang, leaving her past behind...
After their botched assassination attempt on a dissident leader, Karissa's indoctrination is threatened as the rebel leader promises to reveal the truth...
Riley, Karissa and Raven, three very different girls from three very different backgrounds but all with one thing in common.... fighting to live another day in the face of truly horrendous adversity.
This book was pretty tough and you feel each emotion each girl is going through making it hard to put down.
Looking forward to reading what comes next and to seeing whether they will.meet up somewhere along the road!
Hayley Anderton presents to us the best entry into the Last Girls on Earth series yet! Wrath continues the story of the three main characters from the previous books and once again these 3 have evolved exponentially. We were left on quite an intense cliff hanger in book 3 so this hits the ground running.
There is so much drama in this book. A real step up from the previous where there was drama but not at the scale of this one. It is an emotional rollercoaster and at every turn, you feel with the characters.
Wrath takes you into new directions with the series, ultimately caused by the rapidly changing environments the characters are forced to endure. Each one is incredibly exciting and I’m starting to hope that these characters are going to meet soon! I think Karissa and Riley would get on! Raven would be the leveller in the group! I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Hayley takes the series we love and kicks it up a notch! Another rapid and action filled read that is synonymous with the author now through this series and the apocalypse series! I personally adore this and implore you all to give them a go is dystopia/post apocalypse is your jam!
This is an emotional ride 🥺 I am so intrigued by Finch and Karissa, and sad for Raven and hopeful for Ripley. You get so attached to these girls as you read these books. Incredible story. Part 5 added to my TBR... roll on the release day!
There's no waiting around for the narrative to start in Wrath, which opens right in the thick of the action! What does Red have in store for Riley's punishment? And will our beloved fighter survive her toughest challenge in the pits yet? Karissa and Team Nine are given their first assignment by Captain Strauss; but will they all survive in enemy territory? And embarking on their mission outside once-safe walls, who can Raven really trust to keep her and her friends alive?
This is my favourite book in TLGOE series so far! Dynamic, harrowing and with plot twists that made me gasp, I was easily swept up in the action. Each of our girls face life-changing decisions, fuelled by loss and grief, and I am sure that Anderton has more tricks up her sleeve for the girls in Lust. Bring it on!
This book sees all three girls in a state of transition. All of them face losses and choices that no child should ever have to deal with. I really enjoyed spending more time with Riley, Karissa and Raven and look forward to the next installment in this gripping series.
The book moves at a very fast-pace, has no “spice” and very minimal romance. Highly recommended.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Action-packed and the best in the series so far in my opinion! This book had it all—so much loss and emotion, keeping me on the edge of my seat. But when are the girlies going to meet each other? That cliffhanger, though, left me wanting more. Can we also talk about Squid for a second. I'm so mad that Squid is getting left behind. It’s frustrating and so sad.
Overall, a fantastic read that blends action, emotion, and suspense perfectly.
