Rate this book
Objects that fulfill your wildest dreams can become your worst nightmare.

Getting what you’ve always dreamed of is great until that dream becomes a nightmare. When the death of a collector of paranormal objects means some of those objects are out in the world, Julie and Maya and the rest of the Paranormal Grievance Committee rush to get them contained before they plunge more lives into chaos. But one of the people who has an object is Julie’s brother. He doesn’t want to let it go. And then there’s the mysterious Emerald Dancy from the Society of Disquieting Objects who says she wants to help, but who clearly has an agenda of her own.

Julie and Maya must retrieve the objects. But can they do that when a woman claiming to be their ally wants them for her own twisted ends?

Perilous Things is the fourth novel in the Paranormal Grievance Committee Chronicles series, but each book can stand alone.

I am not a big fan of paranormal mystery, but this book grabs me instantly and keeps me hooked until the last page. I love the concept of fountain of youth, the cursed objects and the ghosts, and I enjoy all main characters in this story. The partnership and the friendship among the members of the paranormal buster company impress me more than the romance, which I wish to read a lot more. Overall a well written, mesmerizing story that kept me entertained endlessly.

Perilous Things is the fourth volume in the Paranormal Grievance Committee Chronicles. Although part of a series, it’s billed as a stand-alone book. I agree with that statement. I haven’t read the prior three books, but I felt this book gave me enough background that I had a good handle on the characters. The characters are interesting and flawed and I rooted for them. I enjoyed the paranormal mystery. It had the right amount of suspense. The book felt a perfect length to me as it kept me interested and it didn’t stay its welcome by being overly verbose. I’d like to see a little more romance though. I recommend this book and will definitely go back and read the first three books because I want to read more about these people and their love lives and paranormal mysteries.

I loved the book, but feel that I did myself a disservice by not having read the first three books in the series. As a standalone the book had an interesting angle on "Lucky Charms" and I enjoyed the connetions between the Rabbit's Foot, The Watch and the Cookie Jar. The conclusion was credible and set up the next installment quite well.
It just felt that I was missing out on the "in-jokes" by not having read the books predecessors.

As it is, I am now on my way to purchase those books to fill in the gaps and so that I can enjoy the reread of Perilous things after binging on the previous 3.

It’s been a while since I last read any of the previous books in this series, so I reread one to get a grasp on who the characters were. There were new characters, so it was easier for me to follow the cast. Perilous Things is a bit different from the previous installments in that some of the possible supernatural occurrences involve objects. Much of this storyline has to do with the main characters figuring out what’s going on, including with one of their own group. I was completely absorbed in this weird and spooky yet fun read.

YAY! They are Back!

I loved this book!!!! It was so great to have another book in this installment. Not only do I get to go back and visit with old friends, I get a whole new eerie epic too! Ms Andre has a way of writing that’s engaging and delightful. She will draw you in until only the words in front of you are all that you see, but really you don’t because your mind is lost in the story. This book certainly grabs and holds! I loved everything about it and I already want to read this book again! DO NOT MISS THIS!

A short and fun read, sort of a cozy mystery, with a couple of sapphics running a paranormal detectives agency. This is part of a series and the author goes to great lengths to provide a background story that was detailed in previous books. I thought it was redundant. Despite not reading the previous books, I understood what was going on in the story, and the dynamics between the characters were clear even without the explanations. That was the main thing that bothered me, to be honest, occasional info dumps when they are not really needed.
However, the story itself was interesting and engaging, with warm-hearted friendship and some humor woven in.
I would definitely read more books in this series.
