Anne Marie Walters was a creative director for a major international media firm and after a dismal three-year stint of online dating, swore off men. Dumped at the altar by her childhood sweetheart a decade prior because he couldn’t fake attraction to a woman that gained more than a few extra pounds, she had a long and painful trend of becoming attracted to the wrong kind of man— ones that were interested in only other men. Thanks to her humiliating experiences, she decided it was always safer to assume gay until proven straight. When Jack, her Adonis-esque new intern, showed up for his first day of work, he left her immediately weak-kneed and wanting. To her, it could mean only one Jack was gay.
Jackson Cooper had a lot to prove and not a lot of time to do it. After serving in the Navy for four years and then spending another 5 years getting his BA in Art and Business, at twenty-eight, he was a bit long in the tooth to be an intern. However, he was determined to do more with his life than run his father’s old garage in the middle of nowhere, Texas. He was equally determined to put his bad boy ways behind him— no longer luring women to bed with his pretty face and then leaving them before the sun dared to rise. He’d concentrate on his work, rise through the ranks through hard work, and then find a nice girl to settle down with. The problem was, his new boss looked like sin in heels, had “do not touch” signs all over her, and was completely uninterested in him— which the devil on his shoulder just couldn’t tolerate.
When the truth was revealed, they started a secret love affair that, if found out, would end Anne’s career. With a relationship that could only end in heartache or disaster, they blindly followed their passions, unable to resist the pull that drew them together.
This book discusses past deaths, cancer, body image issues, and unsolicited touching. Reader discretion is advised.
This is an adult, stand-alone, contemporary romance featuring a big, beautiful woman and a sexy man that can't get enough of her. Only pick up this book if you're ready to laugh, shed a few tears, and possibly steam up your glasses.
H.A. Wills has a BA in Art, specializing in digital media, but after over ten years working as a graphic designer, she could no longer ignore all the voices in her head and decided to start writing their stories down. The Southern California native dreams of far off places, but knows she’s too spoiled with all the state has to offer to ever stray too far from home. When she’s not glued to her computer, she enjoys long weekends reading and the occasional game of D&D.
I love office romance books, they are always good “palate cleanser” books because they are well-known cliché. But this book? This was something completely different. Here she was the boss (without the -hole in it) and he was the broke employee. They started from strangers, to friends to finally become lovers. They are two a bit broken souls that need someone to love them and accept them as they are. It’s not an easy read, but it’s so realistic it made me love it even more. There are so many things I appreciate in this book, for example him being an eye candy and he knows that but is still insecure and not overly self-confident. That’s a huge change from all the books I read about alpha-males. She is a successful woman but doesn’t have the body of a model and she knows it and struggles to accept herself. She is also 5 years older than he is - I don’t usually read reverse age gap and I somehow missed it would be here, but I have to say I didn’t mind it here. Other thing that I’m glad the author included is that even men can get unwanted attention from women and here it was portrayed perfectly with the boss offering to “protect” him if needed. I know women deal with this all the time but it happens to men as well - nobody just talks about it. I would love to say more but I don’t want to spoil the book so the last thing I will say is, that the part when they dance around each other started to drag a bit and I was like: can we please move on? It’s enough, we get it. And it was like the author heard me and it stopped and the characters started to move on. So it’s really worth pushing through this part. Oh and when we were almost at the end there was a surprise “plot” that made me cry but it also confirmed what I already knew - this book is unique among the office romances.
I really enjoyed Anne and Jack's story. They are super sweet and cute together and I loved that even when they had fights or something came up that upset one of them, they would take a moment and then talk it out. The first part before they got together had been laughing so much! There friendship really was something special and the fact Jack could never figure out why Anne showed no interest in him had me rolling.
If you are looking for a fun romcom that will leave you with the warm and fuzzies while also being quite spicy, then you absolutely should give A Forever Kind of Love a chance!
So let me start with full disclosure that’s this isn’t my usual go to genre, but I am delighted to report that I devoured this book like a bottle of wine after a long day at work. It was sweet, a little bit tart and full bodied and the FMC, was relatable and refreshing. A girl with curves appreciates a look in and especially when it’s done so well. Thanks for a can’t-put-it-down-we-are-ordering-in-so-mommy-can-finish-her-stories type of read.
These two romantic leads are funny sweet and spicy. It was a fun Romance that, without spoiling anything, has a great plot. I enjoyed every second of this and can't recommend it enough. H.A. has done it again!
New author to me. Liked the dynamic with these two. Liked that they fought the feelings they had and finally gave into those feelings even though there were consquences.
Liked that no matter what they both did what they felt was right and were able to get their HEA.
This is one hot romance. Jack and Anne are so good together. Her dog Nox is so cute. The author writes with such finesse and feelings. Her spicy scenes are just so romantic and classy. They both deal with insecurities from their past. I love that instead of running away like some book characters do they chose to stay and fight for their love in a mature and wise way. I highly recommend this book to all romance readers.

I enjoyed this read. It’s a beautiful storyline. Fell in love with the MC. I really enjoyed it. I don’t want to spoil it. A good in between series type book.
Spicy and heart warming Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023 If you have ever read anything by H.A. Wills then you know it is going to be hot. No questions asked. This also goes further by dealing with body image and self worth insecurity. I loved it and I think you will too.
[dnf @ 22%] i think the constant repetition inner monologue of how the hero want the heroine, how he wanna fuck her etc etc or how the heroine think the hero is hot yada yada felt kind of annoying. i think there are more important to write about instead of how muchhhhhhhhhhhh they want each other.
This was a really cute sweet read 🥰 Was 🌶 🌶 🌶 /5 which was a suprise. I loved the main character, being the older woman (as in 35) to a younger man (28). She was curvy and powerful and comfortable just being herself. The MMC seems very umm like he was written by a women haha. He was very cheesy and unrealistic but it was super cute. I really want to know what he said to Steve at the end... Overall, really good read.
A forever kind of love is what I want. All I want most days.
I see myself in Anne (not like Jack was though 😏). All the insecurities Anne had, I do too. Safe to say I related to her.
Anne is over 30 and have sworn off men after assholes and a few embarrassing moments happened. Anne has this thing where the men she hits on are gay. Safe to say she's all but retreated to save face.
Then comes Jack. A 28 year old intern that is turning is life around. And by that I mean pursue his dream career and not slut around the place. Yes he was a slut. But not anymore.
When Anne and Jack meet, its attraction at first sight. But they can't be together. 1. Because Anne is Jack's boss and it's strictly prohibited in the workplace to date someone in the same department. Both at risk but Anne is more at risk of losing her job. And 2. Anne's track record. "He was Calvin Klein/ GQ/ perfume ad beautiful, and lust shot through her so powerfully that it made her knees wobble, which meant only one thing— the new intern was gay."
To save herself another embarrassing moment, Anne presumed Jack is gay. "HE IRONS HIS JEANS!" So she doesn't linger too much on him even though she really really really wants to jump his bones. Jack on the other hand, has absolutely no idea why she's not glancing at him and blushing or something to show she's interested. He is, however, absolutely interested in her and cannot stop noticing or thinking about her.
'Noticing a sprinkle of freckles across the bridge of her nose that were usually hidden by cosmetics, he had a strong desire to drop featherlight kisses on them until she giggled and then claim her mouth, exploring what else she could do with her tongue.'
'At night, he could still feel her delicate touch, and he burned for more. He was becoming a man obsessed , and he didn’t know what the fuck to do about it.'
'He did his best to ignore the ugly twisting in his stomach at the idea of her being with anyone else. She was his boss, but that didn’t stop him from feeling the possessive desire to spread her wide and claim her right in the office.'
'“Want my honest opinion?” he asked, daring to look over at her even though it made him want to quote cheesy song lyrics any time he met her gaze.'
Girl this man had me blushing and giggling. Like yes, quote cheesy song lyrics to me please.
Yes Anne was going insane thinking about Jack but Jack was even more insane with his thoughts about Anne. Makes me wish I can get this in real life.
After denying and pushing away lusty feelings, they become friends on top of neighbours. Her dog, Nox, loves him. Anne still thinking Jack is gay, called him a "good friend" and my mans was in PAIN. They soon sorted out the situation and started banging eachother.
“I want to see your face when I make you come.” “Oh God,” she sighed, leaning into him. He chuckled. “God can’t save you now, sweetheart.”
“I can’t decide if I want to fuck you against that window so everyone can see me claim you, or tie you up and have my way with you until you vow to never leave our bed.” Both please kind Sir.
“I’ll never get over how good you taste,” Jack confessed with a hum of satisfaction.
Jack flicked on the lights before taking the full-length mirror from the corner of the room and positioning it in front of her. - BOY IF YOU DON'T GET YO FICTIONAL ASS IN THIS REAL WORLD FOR ME! Gah dayam!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ He did sexy things to her while she read on her kindle for him. If you catch my drift.
Plot: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Other than a well developed romance between the MCs, the plot was good. Some topics discussed were a little heavy on the heart and brought some tears but it fit the plot line. The insecurities discussed and the response received? Amazing. I can only hope to find someone as gentle, patient and loving like Jack is to Anne. I can only hope to be as understanding and caring like Anne. They made eachother feel like home.
Would I recommend? Yes, yes and yes! No doubt.

I wish I could go into detail about how much I love this book without spoiling anything but damn Jackson Cooper. I was curious about how the story would develop because it initially started slowly. I am glad I didn't stop because Anne and Jack were perfect together. The chemistry between the two was so good and the spicy was just fire. I could relate to Anne and the insecurities she has about her body. I like the way Jack tried to help her be more confident in her skin. But the way he was obsessing over her just had me falling in love with him. This book had me smiling and giggling. Not to mention, Nox (Anne’s dog) was just cute. I enjoy this book very much.

This is a cute reverse age-gap with our older FMC, Anne, a badass woman in power who crushes seriously hard on the new intern, our MMC, Jack. It was honestly refreshing to have the woman be the older one and the one in power in a novel and I could 100% see why Jack was smitten with her.
Jack had his flaws and is not the perfect, cookie cutter MMC you’d expect but I strangely didn’t mind that. Anne accepts him for all his flaws and acknowledges that just become someone’s handsome/pretty and get pretty privilege, it doesn’t mean they are in any way superior to you.
This story has all the makings of the perfect Hallmark or Lifetime movie. I was so drawn into Anne and Jack's world that I felt like a co-worker at the company myself. The journey of finding love and facing past hurts and trauma was very well written. The way the author balanced the inner turmoil of the main characters with their budding romance was beautifully done.
As a curvy girl, it's always enjoyable to read about someone with the same insecurities and struggles I have. And living here in the South, it wasn't hard to see and hear Jack in every guy I saw at the grocery store or anywhere for that matter. That's how deeply I grew to love these characters and the people in their lives. The happily ever after was everything I could have asked for and I can't wait to read more from this author.
This was a sweet book with a curvy FMC and sexy, good looking MMC who start off as strangers/co-workers (boss and intern), become friends and eventually lovers. She is 5 years older than him, but I didn’t really notice until she had a “moment”, but it wasn’t talked about much. She is his boss and he gets lots of unwanted female from the rest of the ladies at the office. I liked this book a lot.
This author is new to me so I went into this story blind. I found HA Wills to have a clear, easy to read writing style and excellent world building skills. Her characters have depth and are all interesting people. The story was a good mix of fun, heat and real life challenges. Anne and Jack made a fascinating couple, with their chemistry, insecurities and focus. I'd definitely recommend this book to other readers.
Good gracious! What a great book. From the beginning of this book I was very intrigued. The beginning kind of started out slow and I was hesitant about this book but I’m glad I kept reading. This book was worth it. Jack and Anne were a hot couple. Anne is Jack’s boss and these two are attracted to each other from the first beginning. They agree to a secretive and hot relationship because Anne will get fired if anyone finds out about their relationship. I loved that Jack was so protective of Anne and willing to break past her walls when she was hesitant to give him a chance in the beginning. I also loved that the story wasn’t dragged out and they both mostly didn’t jump to conclusions about each other causing needless pain. I also loved the way Anne was with Nox he was so cute. Great book!
