Born into a family that fought its way from immigrant shores to the most prestigious avenues of Manhattan, Mimi marries into a family with an illustrious history and impeccable social standing. Now the ambitious president of the Miray cosmetics empire must struggle to keep it all from crumbling around her.
Her marriage, threatened by a passionate affair with one of the world's richest men.
Her business, under siege by the very same man.
Her family, torn apart by greed and bitter rivalry.
And the terrible secrets that refuse to stay buried...
I finally managed to finish this, it was extremely slow. I've as also noticed a reoccurring theme throughout all of these New York novels that becomes trite when you're reading them back to back. I'm glad I'm done with them.
Man, this book was extremely hard to read. I struggled and couldn't finish it. The writing was confusing. There were times where a character would just go on and on that you would forgot where you by the time the character came back to the "present"
Had this book seven years ago as a gift from a friend. This is the second time I picked up the book and lacked interest in it fully. Did not finished it (and will not finish it). Only made it until page 94.
