For 21 years, I’ve lived a relatively quiet life in Cascade Falls. But there’s more than meets the eye to our small tourist town, and I seem to get caught up in a not-so-hidden criminal empire that I never wanted any part of. The tangle I'd much rather get caught up in? The heartfelt boy next door who I’ve been crushing on for years. The sexier than sin liar who has made it his mission to keep me. The man who already has my heart but could never have my body. The sweet southern gentlemen whose darkness can’t be tamed. The bastard, pretty-boy millionaire who would rather destroy me. The cascade of lies within our pretty little town bind us together, and it’ll take all of us to untangle ourselves from the chaos and make it out alive. If we don’t kill each other first.
* * *Days of Winter is a reverse harem romance intended for audiences 18+ due to mature content. The harem develops over time and features five very different men who will consume your daydreams. Our lovely lead will not have to choose between her men and the story will eventually end on a HEA, which, as in life, has a few bumps in the road to get there.
This book is not considered a dark romance, but readers may encounter some material they may find sensitive. A full description of content can be found on my website.

This was a fun small town romance and it pleasantly surprised me. I found that the characters all had fleshed out backstories and loved the gang / cartel under current. The found family vibes and mystery machine group added a really nice element too. Overall a read I enjoyed, looking forward to what happens after that cliff hanger, and seeing where winter's relationship's with all the guys ends up!
Winter aka Snow is such a great FMC. I absolutely love her character in this book. This is a slow burn book, but in the most delicious "who will be in her harem" kinda way. I can't wait to see what becomes of these characters.
I kinda liked it, there was a lot of drama going on. But I'm going to be honest and say it right now, I don't like Logan, I didn't care for him at all, I found him spoiled, entitled, rude, & ass. I don't want him in the harem, and I frankly don't give a shit about his sob story since he obviously treats the fmc as shit because in his own words he wants to hate bang her. I liked her best friend, but I don't really know how I feel about him just suddenly realizing he has feelings for her. Same thing with Drew, she has had a crush on drew for a long time & suddenly he likes her. Both those guys were kinda hypocritical, her best friend doesn't want her to keep secrets yet he is hiding who his F*ck buddy is. He also recently got out of a relationship. & Drew pushed her away then acted surprised when she was moving on. My favourite one right now was the guys from the wrong track of town , Tristan & cam, even though Tristan made mistakes. I kinda liked this book but I felt like it was a lot of characters to keep track of & drama here & there, I found the book okay except for the fact I couldn't stand Logan & felt that drew & the bff was hypocritical. I really liked the fmc though, felt she was reliable & funny, the guys just lack behind though lol. I liked the multiple pov also. I received an arc from the author & want to thank you for the opportunity to review it! I always give my honest opinion

Days of Winter grabbed my attention from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down! There was romance, mystery, spice, action - a seriously fantastic start to a new, steamy Reverse Harem series!
Days of Winter takes place in a small town full of corruption, where the main characters must work together to save the ones they love most. I thought the FMC, Winter, was adorable but strong, and her harem is 🔥😍. I can’t wait to read more on these characters and see how their story unfolds!
I will definitely be picking up book 2 as soon as it’s available. 🩵❄️
If this is the first book by this writer then all I can say is you knocked it out of the park!! It was a flaming brilliant read. Small town drama with a mafia don type - Georgio who basically has everyone living there in his pocket or owning him some way.
Winter (FMC) has so many strings that intertwined in her life whilst living there. A best friend - Shane (who I loved), a work colleague - Drew, a sleazy guy - Logan, a tasty bartender - Travis and a quiet boxer/bouncer - Cameron. Who all have interesting backstories and complicated connections with Georgio in one way of another. Steamy scenarios (even if its slow burn), cracking plot twists and a great cliff-hanger ending. Bring on book 2 now.
reread: I realized when I started book three that nothing about this series stood out enough that I remembered all the details. spoilers.
alright. I guess I didn't really have to do a reread, nothing really happens in book one for me and my review below still holds up.
I am luke warm on this one. There is some stuff I like and some I just want to make my way through to get somewhere in the plot. Spoilers.
I'll start my review by saying I think what is getting me is there is no real person to root for aside from Shane for me. Drew is pretty run of the mill, didn't give me any insane sparks and will be good for her in the long run I'm sure. Travis, I like him but he just seems sort of pretty and useless. He let's a lot happen to him and doesn't really take an active role in his choices. Very passive. Which fine, but the lack of introspection on that annoys me. We barely know cam by the end of the book, who knows if they will get together, and then we have Logan. Logan even in his own POV sucks, and doesn't really say much in his own head that is a redeeming factor for him. So let's go back to the only person I am kind of rooting for; Shane. He is the only one without the selfish agenda, he actually cares for her and is as close as you can be. My downside with him is that he doesn't see her that way and is hung up on a guy he dated. If he hasn't had feelings more than friendship yet, it just seems forced if it happens. So I'm torn. I am not invested in the love/reverse harem at this point and we have had an entire 400 page book. So do with that what you will.
What I do like about this book though and as much as it frustrated me is that is is realistic. Our main character has real feelings, reactions and expectations and she is clear on all of them. The relationships happen organically and she is clear about what that looks like for her. Kudos to you madam for those boundaries. I also like the web of intrigue and betrayal happening. I'm a sucker for that and it's one of my favorite parts of the genre.
Overall I guess I'm bummed about the lack of a strong MMC, and want more than the flawed men we have been handed. I guess we are leaning into her not needing a man like that but without a stronger personality I feel like we are just watching them fumble and grasp at straws, rather than having real intelligence and plans.
I feel like one of Cascade Falls' gossipy townspeople with how invested I am in this book!
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Spice Level: 2.5/5
Days of Winter is book 1 in the Cascade of Lies Series.
Cora really blew it out of the water with Days of Winter. With a lot of why-choose books the plot lines and what's motivating characters can get really tricky to web together in an authentic way, but there were no such problems in this story. Each character had their own goals and unique personalities. The story really pulled me in to where I had to physically slow myself down from reading too quickly going toward the end.
Winter is a college student in the quiet, but somewhat touristy town of Cascade Falls. The book begins by sharing her journey and her apprehension towards what her future holds. Through her journey, she discovers many things about her friends, family, and the town she's spent her life in. Let me tell you- it. gets. juicy.
I recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of why-choose, found family, small town, multiple POV, and criminal underworld.
Days of Winter is out NOW for paperback, and out on KU on Jan 19th!
Wow, I loved this! Winter has had a crush on Drew, the manager of the diner where she works, for ages. Finally, it seems that he has a thing for her too - but then he ghosts her. But there is also Travis, the hot bartender at the club where she sings. But as she begins a relationship with him, she realizes he has a dark secret. And the whole town may be involved in shady business, including her best friend's father! An amateur investigation and a bunch of hot men in a small town - hell yes! The cliffhanger is killing me and I cannot wait for book two!
Now that I've had the pleasure of an advanced listening copy I may add: the audio book is totally worth it!
Finish this story and I freaking love it with all of the characters involved and each chapter kept pulling you into the book I did know what was going to happen next in this book and I freaking love. That is what I love about book like these it keep you guessing on what is going to happen next like I didn’t know who was going to get hurt or what. Can’t wait to read the next one to keep the story going.
This was a fantastic debut. The friendships, the relationships, the dysfunctional families, the secrets and lies, the mysteries and action, and hurts and betrayals and forgivenesses and the spice oh my the spice!! I adore Winter as an FMC and I love all of the guys who I suspect will make up her harem. I was surprised not to see the viking from the prequel novella but maybe he'll turn up in book 2? This was a fast paced, action packed, suspenseful mystery romance novel with tons of storylines that easily flowed into each other and weren't so convoluted as to not be able to keep track of all the threads whilst also being mysterious enough that there are no clear answers yet. All in all this was a very well written book with likeable and three dimensional characters with a natural and easy to see chemistry that literally sparked off the page. I can't wait for 29th February for book 2!!
Thank you so much to this brand new author for sending me this ARC to read.
This is a Reverse Harem/Why Choose book.
This first ever book by this author is amazing. You get a best friend, a high school crush, an enemy, a hot bartender, and a mysterious boxer. Then you have Winter, who is an amazing FMC. She is strong but also vulnerable and doesn't easily let you in. There is some steamy scenes, but also a slow burn with some of the men. Each one brings something different to her life. You also have some dysfunctional families and some mob type scenarios going on. The mystery and everything in this book just grabbed me and cannot wait til the next book. I would say this is one of my favorite reads this year. Absolutely loved it. Oh and that cliffhanger killed me. I need the next book now 😒😳😳. Writing is definitely something Ms. Flynn that you need to continue to do. Read this book, you won't be disapointed.
Thanks so much to Cora for allowing me to read an ARC of this amazing book!
A debut novel which has you diving in head first and holds you captive until you’re finished!
Set in the small town of Cascade Falls, we follow along with Winter and her many intriguing love interests. All with their own unique personality types. It was great getting to know each character as the story progressed and all the wheeling's and dealing’s going on in the town. Ending on a cliff hanger which has me desperate to get my hands on the next book as soon as it comes out!
If you’re a fan of reverse harem romance that has delicious spice and a great plot then do yourselves a favour and pick up a copy of this book!
This book is advertised as a why choose romance, however as the first book in a trilogy, it is a set-up book. The reader is introduced to a bunch of characters using multiple POVs, it fills in backstories of the characters, has multiple coinciding storylines, and sets up the reader to really know the characters well. The plot itself is fairly slow moving and only starts to gain momentum at the end of the book.
Ultimately it is about a small town with shady mobster dealings and a group of individuals who are all affected by the “big bad man” that come together to support each other to find a way out of the twisted dealings. It has “political” intrigue/mobster vibes, and several blooming romances.
Liked the plot. Small town girl discovers everyone around her is stuck working for the mob, including herself when she volunteers to try to help them get out. She gets pulled in. Cliffhanger. Slow at times but interesting enough that I'll keep reading book 2.
1st book in a series . Reverse harem/why choose. 5 steamy men who all have very different traits to them. The spice is definitely not lacking and flows very nicely with the story line, some of which is a slow burn with some of the men .
What?!?! I can’t believe it ended like that! I need the next book!! This book captivated me right from the beginning, I have no idea where it’s going to go or how it’s going to end. This book is truly unpredictable and I LOVE it!!
Small town why choose/reverse harem romance. There’s a lot going on in this one. It is full of drama and shady dealings. I feel like it’s definitely a mood read but it wasn’t bad at all. I like Travis the most and Logan is honestly pretty insufferable. As expected it ends on a really big cliff hanger, so that wasn’t really my favorite thing but I definitely looking forward to reading the second book!
Spice level was like a 3!

Days of Winter is a modern-day RH set in a sleepy mountain resort town in the Rocky Mountains, and as our FMC finds out, their quiet little town isn't so quiet after all. Or innocent.
Although I admittedly haven't read many books on the topic of "why choose" I really enjoyed it! Days of Winter is a fantastic written book that I could hardly put down and really wanted to read what's happening next. The chapters are written from different perspectives so you can learn a lot of backstory about the MCs.
It's an interesting book that really captivated me and I can't wait to read the next winter story!
Tropics: medium combustion ❄️5 hot men ❄️Friends-to-lovers ❄️From enemies to lovers ❄️Blooming bromance ❄️Family feeling found ❄️Small town criminal underworld ❄️Harem builds over time
The prequel had me hooks and excited to read the first book of the Cascade of Lies series. Most of the prequel has been repeated making it redundant.
There was a lot of character building which which over 6 characters takes a lot. I was expecting there to be more spice giving that it's a reverse harem. But things are setting up nicely for the next book which thankfully we don't have to wait to read.
I would recommend this if you like wondering if and when something will happen. One of the downsides of multi POV's you know who is involved and now you are just piecing the puzzle pieces together and waiting to see if you are right.
If you don't like a ton of story and you want a cookie cutter spicy book this isn't for you as there is a lot of story and a lot of development of each character.
The thing that made me a bit disappointed and brought my rating down is Cora is a Canadian author and the ARC seemed to be geared to Canadian readers, but everything takes place in the US and is American based. I mean we have AMAZING ski towns that could have been used.
I haven't finished a book this quickly in a looong time! It was really good. I hoped for a tad more spice but I know it's leading to some good stuff in the next book.
Since it was my first time reading a book that had more than 2-3 POV, it took me a little bit to adjust to that but once I got the swing of it, I had no problem following along. The characters are well developed and I instantly had a favorite!
This is an ARC review that I am most happy to share!
Actual rating 4.5 🌟 Spice rating 4 🌶️
I will start by saying that I absolutely love a good why choose and this hit the spot! I was nervous at first with this being contemporary as I usually can be found with something dark and paranormal but Ms. Flynn did not disappoint.
Winter is working her way through college, supporting herself with a job at a popular diner in her ski resort hometown that on the surface seems normal. Until she and her best friend Shane and Drew, her manager, start uncovering what seems to be unsavory dealings between almost everyone and the local crime boss. Add in the local rich boy/businessman Logan who Winter just can't seem to shake, the sexy bartender Travis and his boxing best friend Cam and you're ready for a ride.
I really like Winter, she is confident, she works hard, she knows what she wants and (something we don't often see in a female lead) she takes charge of her own sexuality and doesn't doubt herself at every turn. All of this and she still seems pretty down to earth. Refreshing.
As far as the MMCs go I didn't feel like I was reading about the same handful of guys as I did in the last few why choose novels I read. I've noticed the same types seem to pop up over and over but not here. All the guys were different and have something to bring to the table although we're still in the early stages so we don't have any more than our imaginations to tell us who will all be included in Winter's harem.
I love the chemistry that's building between everyone, nothing feels rushed so it feels more real. And although there isn't a huge amount of spice since we're still building relationships, what we did get was on fire and friends, I am here for it!
All in all, this was a great read for me and I can't wait to see what happens next. Also, kudos to the author because this did not read like a first book, everything came together well, and it was well written. Congrats on your first Cora!
I really got sucked into this book. This was really brought to life in my mind. It isn't overly saturated by useless details but just the right amount to get a full scope of the surroundings, atmosphere and the people. It is multiple POVs and RH which is something I love in a book, Each time you get to see what's happening with each character you gather more tidbits of who they are and what situation they are it. I'm all in for supporting Travis in his relationship with Wnter. He's not a bad guy just trying to take care of him family. Cameron is sucha sexy man but I think for him he will be the one of The Toucher or d3i. With Logan Im hoping he will understand how to give love and find it too.
Drew and Shane have been a big part of Winters life for a really long time And All of their families have their live intertwined for some reason or another. The guys really do treat her good, expect Logan who I think mostly gets what he wants and he has build a wall around his heart because little does anyone know he doesn't want to be where he is either. As the book goes you will find winter meeting Travis and Cam and exploring new relationships. It does end on a cliffhanger right when everything was flowing so well. But at least she's stuck in a room with several of them so I'm hoping there will be some spicy even though they just went through so much. I got through an ARC but this one I would buy and the one too. It would also be amazing in a Audio too.I highly recommend this because it was just Amazing !!!
ARC Review: I absolutely loved this book! The spice is spicy and all the men in Winters life are all different from each other and perfect. This book made me laugh at times, blush and kept me wanting to read.
This does end on a cliffhanger and I literally cannot wait to see what happens next. 10/10 would recommend.
This book was everything. The friendships, the relationships, the families were amazing. I loved that it was set in a small town full of corruption. I loved that there was more plot than “spicy”. Winter is just a girl trying to find her person. While she might have possibly done that (Hopefully we will find out in book 2), she also found more. Winter & Shane’s friendship is literal goals. (Although, I’m fairly certain that if Shane was honest with himself he could see that he feels more for her.) I’m super nervous, but also excited for book 2 as we were left with a pretty big cliff hanger.
Please, do not break my heart. I’m in no mood to cry. 😂
❗️SPOILER-ISH❗️ ____________________ ❤️ "The boxer, the bartender, the diner boss, the businessman, and my beautiful girl, trapped in a cellar under our own cascade of lies." - Travis ____________________
Days of Winter is book #1 in the Cascade of Lies series, written in multi POV. This is a RH/Why Choose, and the harem builds overtime. I feel like I never knew what a true slow burn was until I read this book, lol. So far romantically she's only involved with two of the men, and the spice is nice but not over the top and doesn't take over the storyline. The thing I do love about a good slow burn is that you get to know the characters better, and can see the build up of their friendships, relationships and bromances. And on top of that, I love the underground crime world aspect in this little town that they find themselves involved in. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I needed book #2 like yesterday. I can't wait for more of Winter and her guys.
✔️Why Choose ✔️MMFMMM ✔️Small Town ✔️Slow Burn ✔️Friends to Lovers ✔️Enemies to Lovers ⚠️Below here may be more "spoile-rish" in my get to know the characters part. _______________________ 🔥 "Our fixation was primal; predatory. I could pretend to be his prey, but we both knew I was his equal in this jungle." - Winter _______________________ Winter is a pretty strong woman, but she’s stubborn and has walls built around her heart. She’s a college student with two jobs. She works at the local diner and sings at a speakeasy bar in the town over. I’m jealous of her… I mean who doesn’t want all these men? Even though it’s a slow burn she still has two guys completely falling at her feet, her best friend who would do anything for her, and then there is the enemy who still admits he wants her and the new guy in town who happens to be friends with her boyfriend. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out - and I have a feeling the criminal world is going to open up their eyes and bring them together. _______________________ ❤️ “That wasn’t fair of me. I couldn’t-you’re my kryptonite, beautiful.” - Travis _______________________ Travis, who is my favorite, is the panty melting bartender at the speakeasy Winter works at. He’s pierced and tatted (YUM.) He grew up in a trailer park, where he still lives with his sick mother and drug addicted brother. He’s done some questionable things to try and help his family but when he starts to fall for Winter, he knows he wants to do everything he can to get himself out of the mess he’s in, for her. He’s also her boyfriend throughout most of the book, until she finds out some secrets he’s been hiding. But shit… he’s still my favorite and it may or may not be partially because of their bathroom encounter. 🔥 And if she doesn’t want him… I’ll take him. _______________________ ❤️ “My Snowflake was my platonic soulmate, my best friend in all ways, but she couldn’t see her faults if they hit her in the face.” - Shane _______________________ Shane is Winter’s best friend. They’ve been friends their entire lives, because of their parents. Her parents are away a lot, even during the Holidays so she’s always spent a lot of time at his house. He’s protective of Winter, but also a big sweetheart. He loves to see his friends happy, and play the peacemaker and fix friendships/relationships when they start to go south. Right now doesn’t see her as anything more than a friend, an admittedly beautiful friend. So it’ll be interesting to see at what point he realizes that he loves her and maybe has all along. He’s also openly bisexual, and I am hoping at least one of the other guys and him get in on some MM action with Winter. _______________________ ❤️ “I wanted more of that version of Winter Wallace in my life. In my life, and in my bedroom.” - Drew _______________________ Drew is Winter’s long time crush and also her boss at the diner. He gives boy next door vibes and is dedicated to his parents and siblings. He’s the only other guy that Winter’s hooked up with so far, and it was in the storage closet and DAMNNN… 🔥 I love Drew too, and when Winter mentions she wants to explore their relationship, but isn’t ready to give up Travis, even if things are rocky he’s agrees to “sharing” even though he doesn’t trust him. _______________________ ❤️”I’d rather fuck you, Princess.” - Logan _______________________ I can’t wait to find out more about Logan. He’s educated, comes from money, arrogant, a complete alphahole and hits on Winter every time he sees her. He’s also engaged, because of an arranged marriage their father’s set up when they were younger. While we kind of know some of the stuff he has going on, he's still a mystery and has secrets and struggles, that I can't wait to see how they play out and see how he finds his way into Winter’s heart, considering she hates him and that he’s engaged. _______________________ ❤️ “The pain helps me center me and my demons.” - Cameron _______________________ Cameron’s another guy we don’t know a lot about. He’s new in town, and he came to town looking to find his birth parents. He’s a bouncer at the speakeasy that Winter and Travis work at. He’s also an underground fighter. Another one I can’t wait to see how he makes his way into the relationship, considering he and Travis are friends. I also want to know what his secrets are, and what Georgio Carlos has on him.
⚠️ I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review. If you have made it this far, and are still wondering how I felt about the book... I loved it! I can't wait for the next book.
