Harper’s story is fast paced and very intriguing! I will say I have not read Jordyn’s story (yet) but did not feel like I needed to. I loved the guys, except Darragh. I really dislike him and I genuinely hope he has some sort of epiphany so he understands just how much he’s messed up. The cliffhanger is brutal but I trust in Jaye!

“Here’s to hell! May the stay there be as fun as the way there!”

Irish mafia time. Enter our strong ass, confident in herself FMC Harper who isn’t anyone’s possession. She knows what she wants and knows everyone around her in life is less than legal. But one fateful pub trip leads her down a hole she didn’t want to in. Join in for some Irish mafia why choose vibes.

If you like your boys bad, and a strong FMc, this is for you.

I really enjoyed it however I wish I had known had links with Jaye Pratts previous duet Liar Liar(which I heard is absolutely fabulous). I kinda wish I had read the other duet first.
Felt would have made some chunks even better. I plan to now go read as to have a bit more understanding of some whys and who’s in this book. But it was still great on its own I kind of felt just a tad left out :P

I felt Jaye Pratt wrote about some hard topics really well. I read this book in a day and it had me engrossed the whole time. It is pretty heavy in bits so be sure to check your up to it.

As always don’t forget to check the trigger warnings as usual. As this is on the darker side 🧡

I can’t wait for book two!

Thanks to Books and B!tches for ARC copy this is my totally honest and awesome opinions.

If you’ve read the D’Arco Duet then you are familiar with our leading lady and her Irishmen and if not then I certainly think you could read this duet without (you might just not get the richness of the connections ☺️)
Harper or Angel has decided her way of life to ensure she has a say over her choices and it’s that sassy attitude that causes her to catch the eyes of some of the most dangerous men in town 😆 Van is an absolute gem a giant teddy bear, Cian is the energetic puppy with a wild streak, Ronan is the leader and throws out Daddy vibes 😍 and I do like how as a reader you’re kept guessing about Darragh and whether he will actually be a part of the harem or not 😕 I certainly think he’s going to have a lot of grovelling to do first 😬
They all try to keep their emotional distance yet it’s very apparent they’re all falling for each other quickly 🥰 yet after some tragic incidents Harper needs time to recover….can they fight through this together knowing it’s probably the guys enemies doing this?! I was mightily miffed when this ended with a whopper of a cliffhanger I was so into the story I didn’t realise I was so close to the end 😫lol blitzed through it in one sitting!

Angel is a tough, independent mattress actress, working in The Range, the local high class ‘service’ house. She chose this life, for reasons she is all too happy to share.

Enter Sullivan, a hardass top dog in the Obrien Irish Mafia family, who run the town along with four other crime families. Sullivan is not her normal customer - he asks for her time only. When his mafia brothers discover her, its a fast paced non stop ride to why choose territory, which is complicated when your job is ‘entertaining’ other men… so its extra fun when adding three hugely possessive brother at arms. Add in some criminal rivalry, some twists, and a best friend also connected to a rival family and you are in for a heck of a read.

We need book 2 ASAP!

While its not essential to the story, I recommend reading the Liar Liar duet first as there are character cross overs and some back story that would be helpful for Beautiful Liar.

Could not put down!!

Jaye's writing is so captivating! Once I picked it up I instantly had Harper's back. She is a pretty tough character that has been through some stuff. The guys were great characters but I'm most intrigued by Daragh. I adore Sullivan and Cian is that c*cky arrogant playful guy that you can't help but love. Ronan is *swoon

The chemistry between them all is extremely realistic and easy to believe which can be hard to pick in some RH/why choose books but Jaye absolutely nailed it.

The history of the world, town, gangs/mafia and people had me invested in everyone and its the suspense and action that kept me turning the page until I had finished the book in one sitting.

Cannot wait for book 2

OMG what a cliffhanger at the end of the book.

Found family, SFMC, FMM, MM, enemies to lovers, mafia, Irish ☘️ mob, spice 🌶️, killing, hated family, twists what more could you want.

Angel had no idea what she was in for, when she walked into the pub down the road from work. To finding the Irish mob and finding out her best friend was missing and had killed the Mafia bosses mum. She was lost.

Well written and a great segway from Liar Liar. I can’t wait to read book 2.

I just love Harper. I’ve been waiting for her book to come out. Let me tell you it’s awesome. Harper is so strong and independent always bringing her men down to their knees. They are Irish Mafia. Lots of twist and turns. Very fast paced which I just love. Lots of juicy scenes. That cliffhanger is something else. Can’t wait for the conclusion. Love Jaye Pratt’s books. If you love mafia RH books definitely pick this one up you won’t be disappointed.

My Rating: ★★★★☆

Beautiful Liar Part One by Jaye Pratt, published on April 10, 2024, independently, is an addictive and intense read that dives deep into themes of survival, empowerment, and complicated romance.

The story follows a young woman who works at The Range, a brothel where she believes she can own her sexuality and control her life. However, when her sanctuary is violated by men who strip away the one sacred right the women there hold dear—the right to say no—she and her best friend refuse to be victims. They fight to be seen as survivors in a world that shows no mercy. The arrival of four Irish men, with their irresistible accents and dangerous allure, adds a new layer of complexity to her life, especially since she harbors a deep hatred for one of them.

Pratt's writing is raw, evocative, and unapologetically honest, capturing the protagonist's fierce independence and vulnerability. The characters are well-developed, with significant growth throughout the story, making them relatable and engaging. The blend of spice, plot, and intense emotions creates a compelling narrative that keeps readers hooked from start to finish.

The book does contain triggers, which are handled with sensitivity and depth, adding to the realism and gravity of the story. The protagonist's journey from a place of trauma to empowerment is inspiring, and the romance, though complicated and fraught with tension, adds a layer of intrigue and passion.

I want to say a huge thank you to Jaye for the opportunity to read this addictive book and for the wonderful PR box. After receiving it, I was eagerly looking forward to reading this book, and I'm beyond happy I finally managed to read it!

In conclusion, Beautiful Liar Part One is a gripping and emotionally charged read that explores themes of survival, empowerment, and love in the face of adversity. Jaye Pratt has crafted a powerful story with memorable characters and a plot that leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the duet. Highly recommended for those who enjoy intense, spicy romances with strong, resilient heroines.

☘️ Mattress Actress
☘️ Dark Themes
☘️ Fast and Slow Burn

Beautiful Liar delves into the world of our fierce and independent protagonist, Harper, who refuses to be anyone's possession. In a daring move to reclaim control over her body, she becomes a 'mattress actress,' offering her services on her own terms. Enter the realm of Irish mafia and reverse harem dynamics, where Harper finds herself entangled in a web of desire and danger.

What drew me in was Harper's unapologetic agency and the richly woven tapestry of the world she inhabits. While I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and action that kept me eagerly turning the pages, I wish I had known beforehand that this story unfolds concurrently with the author's previous duet, 'Liar Liar.' Nonetheless, the intricacies of the town, the gangs, and the characters had me fully invested.

Harper's journey takes a captivating turn when she crosses paths with the Irish Mafia boss and his cadre, each man bringing a unique dynamic to the relationship. From the sweet and self-conscious Sullivan 'Van' to the charming flirt Cian, and the authoritative Daddy figure Ronan, each character adds depth and complexity to the narrative.

As Harper navigates lust, love, and loyalty, I found myself eagerly anticipating the evolution of her relationships, particularly the intriguing dynamics brewing between certain members of the cadre. The book ends with a gripping cliffhanger, leaving me eagerly awaiting the next instalment to see how Harper's journey unfolds.

In sum, 'Beautiful Liar' offers a compelling blend of romance, suspense, and intrigue, leaving readers craving more of Harper's captivating world and the men who inhabit it.

I already loved Harper as a side character in "Liar Liar", so I was extremely happy to see her own story being written, and I loved her even more once I got to know her better. She is a truly interesting character, someone who has chosen power over her own body in a remarkable way, and I love the way she deals with life. This book has a bit of a 'before' and 'after' feel to it, with a lifechanging event somwhere in the middle, and it was fascinating to watch it all unfold knowing there is more to come. The timeline has a big overlap with Liar Liar though, so if you haven't read that duet yet I do suggest reading it first before starting this one.

What I didn't expect, was how much I would love one of the men in Harpers life. Sullivan is amazing, and I believe it's the first time ever I fall for a guy like him. He's not classically handsome, but he falls hard for our girl and I loved how supportive and caring he was the entire time. The others still have to grow on me a little more, even though Cian is on his way to conquer my heart as well. There are some tiny details about the guys I really love, and their character building is done great, making it easy to differentiate them from each other.

There is one tiny little detail that bothered me in this book though, and I feel a need to mention it because I know I'm not the only one. I don't deal well with characters not using protection during spicy times, especially when there are reasons to be weary of possible issues. It really threw me out of the story at times. I decided not to take away stars in my rating over it, but I did consider it before starting this review.

If you like fast-paced mafia romance books, then you’ll love this one! It’s a why choose dark mafia romance and is interconnected with the D’Arco Mafia Duet.

Harper “Angel” is a shameless mattress actress whose motto is that she rather get paid for it instead of men just taking it. I love how bold and confident she is! It’s such a refreshing thing to see for a FMC in books these days. She knows how things in her world work and doesn’t ask too many questions or expect a lot.

Sullivan is such a sweetie and is self-conscious about his appearance, but Harper helps him with that. Cian is hilarious and such a flirt! He’s also possessive and loves the chase. Ronan is total Daddy and the head of his family. I can’t wait to see Harper bring Darraugh to his knees in the next book!

I really enjoyed how well this book went along with the D’Arco Mafia Duet, and it showed us what Harper was doing behind the scenes of that duet. Plus, I loved seeing Jordyn and her guys again. This is definitely a page-turner with lots of spice and action. I couldn’t believe the cliffhanger, but I’ll (im)patiently wait for the next book.

Absolutely loved learning and reading more about Harper "Angel ".
There is plenty to keep you engaged. A very emotional read in parts over a few situations throughout the book that will leave you wondering why.

Reverse Harem components involving Ronan who is the head of the Irish mafia, Sullivan"Van" who seems to be the softie only when it comes to his Angel, Cian who seems to want to torment Van as much as much as he enjoys Harper, and then there is Darragh who seems to want to make Harper suffer the most. He doesn’t want her around and he doesn’t like that she has seemed to come into their dynamics and taken the eye of Cian.

I liked reading more about the other characters as well. It is always good to have the characters development continue to grow in strength and develop.

Plenty of dark themes, however there is slso plenty of laughter humour and kind moments also. A chemistry that leaves you needing to know what happens next.

Harper (Angel FMC) popped up in her friend Jordyn's duet of books (D'Arco Mafia Duet and the books before this one). In her book Harper's job gets mixed up with the Irish Mafia or more so individual members in it when she drops into a local pub and meets Sullivan. Events in this book overlap with the D'Arco duet so we get Harper's perspective on them as well as what happened to her too.

I absolutely loved Sullivan. I didn't remotely care about his looks (which was a topic within this book) it was his genuine sweetness and protectiveness in regards to Harper. Which was so out of nature to his job within his family. I liked Cian's playfulness. He was gradually growing on me as the book progressed. As for Ronan I don't think I've made my mind up about him yet and Darragh I just wanted to slap him silly for his attitude towards Harper.

Beautiful Liar was a cracking start to this duet and a brilliant read with a jaw droppingly good cliff-hanger ending. Bring on book 2.

What a ride!

Oh my...! I can't believe that Harper's story is here! Readers were introduced to Harper (Jordyn's bestie) in Liar Liar...which I recommend reading it you haven't. Those glimpses of a take-control-women made me want to know her story. She's not just a super loyal friend, Harper is the type to do whatever she has to to protect the people she loves. And she doesn't want the complication of being someone's girlfriend. She doesn't want to be owned. Too bad there are few guys that don't feel the same way. Their lives are dangerous, but she is already involved and surrounded by threats in her everyday life. And at the end, she runs because she won't come between their friendship and she doesn't know how to be theirs. She is struggling and get ending rocked her very foundation.

Looking forward to the second part of Harper's story and seeing if she can find her HEA.

Jaye literally never fails to give us something that is fast paced, spicy and keeps you hooked on the story! Harper is sassy as hell! She's strong, independent and loyal! You don't need to read Jordyn's story to follow Harpers but I definitely recommend it! This is a why choose, Irish Mafia, dark romance with dark themes. I loved how the characters crossover (it's something I never knew I needed 😂🙌).. you see the timelines crossing and the story and plot really coming together! Harper finds herself thrown into the path of hot, possessive and morally grey men who want to keep her safe and take her for themselves the only thing is Harper has issues to resolve and a need to find herself again, the problem is she's a bit of a runner from being so independent but what she's about to find out is that these men will find her and they aren't letting her go without a chase. This book ends on a brutal cliffhanger - I'm not sure who upset you on that day Jaye but Damn!

What can I say, you do some really good cliffhangers and now I'm dying to find out if Cian is okay?!? The Liar Duet was amazing, I read both those and was super excited to read this duet. You've done it again. I smashed out reading this book. You are an incredible writer and author. I love that this ties in with the Liar duet and crosses over so we get both sides of it from Jordyn and now Harper. I love all these characters but man Darragh makes me a grumpy woman. I fell in love with Van from the first encounter. Cian and Ronan as well, those poor guys weren't expecting Harper to be everything she is. The occurrences of Jordyn and the D'Arco men makes me fall even more in love with them and this duet. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone but READ IT!!!! Especially if you read the Liar Duet. Amazing, I'm so speechless

Absolutely loved Harper's story!!! We first meet this fabulous character in a supporting role in her best friend's story Liar Liar. You don’t need to have read this duet before your start this book, however it is interconnected and I highly recommend that you do. Harper's story is quite an emotional one with some darker themes, but her strength, loyalty and sense of humour will have you immediately seeing what a wonderful woman she is and wanting happiness to find her. The Irish mafia men who enter her life are all vastly different and I loved the dynamic between them and their intensity. The cliff hanger at the end is huge, so be prepared to not be ok when there are no more pages to turn.....so now I'm trying to patiently wait for part 2:)

In liar liar we met Harper and her men. Harper is a feisty take no shit girl who owns who she is. She works as a lady companion who knows her worth. She meets a nice Irishman who pays for her time to just get to know her. She finds out he and 2 other Irishmen she meets are a part of one of a crime families and enemies of her best friends husbands. Harper just wants to live her life on her own terms but one day some men take what's not theirs from her and she goes down a spiral. While her best friend is taking care of her they are kidnapped but Harper is done letting me take from her so she saves them but while Jordyn is going into labor her Irishmen take her back to their home and claim her as theirs. The cliffhanger in this book is brutal I can't wait for the next one.

I loved Harper (Angel) as Jordyn's (Dolly) best friend and side character in Liar Liar. Now we get to read her story here in Beautiful Liar.

And what at story it is so far....

A talented, and strong, 'mattress actress', we follow Harper's life from working at The Range to walking into The Fiddler down the road where she meets the absolute sweetheart, Sullivan, of the Irish Mafia. Then comes Cian and "Daddy" Ronan (yes please!), with Darragh on the sidelines.

It flowed incredibly well and interconnected with the D'Arco Mafia duet seamlessly.

Lots of spice, lots of laughs, and whychoose!

I shall sit and wait for the second part of this duet now, somewhat impatiently.

5/5 ⭐

what has Harper gotten herself into

Love Harper and jorydan ride or die relationship love they will do anything for each other. Now idk I feel like Harper’s men are the wildest when it comes to her. Cian has gone crazy I really liked him but he is stuck on keeping her captive like how is that any better than the life she had. And Ronan he has fallin hard to try to hurt his close friend over her, I am pulled in and ready to see where else this goes, a part of me wants her to get away because she wouldn’t be free to be herself or find out who she is now after what she went through. There trying to make her into some one she’s not and that’s not the life sshe wants or deserve after her struggles.

The only issue I have with this book is I want more! Eagerly awaiting book 2 as I cannot wait to see how Darragh comes round (I have faith the author will make him see sense!).

Harper is such a strong broken young woman my heart hurts for her. I love her outlook and attitude and I hope she overcomes the trauma she went through.

Her guys I have no doubt will be ok, I just have to trust the author is stocking up on her readers tears and will be having a good ole laugh knowing all will be fine in part 2 of this duet.

A really great read and although you do not need to have read read the Liar Lair duet I would recommend just to get more character background.

I need book 2

I need book 2, like pronto! How am I meant to cope being left with that cliffhanger?!? My nerves are gone and my mind is spiralling. I need to know what's happened. Amazing cliffhanger! I love Harper, I loved her before just seeing glimpses of her in the other duet. She's even better in this book. I didn't know how everything would work with her profession but her men really are perfect for her, and accept her for who she is. I love her friendship with Jordyn and how she stays strong in keeping it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next one

I thought this book was fantastic. I loved how it crossed over with the Liar Liar books. I wanted to know Harpers story and this book did not disappoint. I loved how Harper took control of her life and didn’t care what anyone thought about her near the end of the book my heart broke for her. Love the irish mafia men who met Harper and how each one of them care for her well except for one. I thought Darragh was a piece of crap but there has to be a reason why, looking forward to finding out more in the next book. The ending what the hell. I love jay’s writing style and looking forward to reading many more books from her. ❤️

Beautiful Liar is Harper's duet, and we finally learn what happens between her and the Irish.

It is worth reading Jordyn's duet first as there are characters and parts of the story that will be better explained by reading that beforehand.

Harper and her Irish men have some serious chemistry, and I adored all of their different personalities.

Sullivan/Van is a big softie who is besotted with Harper.

Cian is a big flirt who is addicted to Harper.

Ronan is the leader of their family, and it doesn't take long for him to be under Harper's spell.

I was not expecting that cliffhanger, but I'm so ready for part 2.

What. A. Ride.🤯 I didn’t think much could top Jordyn’s story in Liar Liar but boy was I wrong! While I’ve gotten to meet Harper in a previous duet it was a whole new ballpark getting to see this side of her. How she was able to resist the O’Brien men I will never understand because they are perfection in true Jaye fashion🖤 this book mentions MM, is why choose with plenty of 🔥mafia men to dream about, and all the spice and action you could ask for. I do recommend checking out the triggers if you have any as this is a dark romance and has some topics that some may not handle well. 12/10🖤

So good!! This is the story of the O'Brian Mafia. It is book one of a duet in the same world as D'Arco family. Harper is Jordan's best friend who finds herself mixed up with the O'Brian's. She is doing her best to take care of herself and her grandmother.
Van, Ronan, and Cian come into her life after a late night pit stop in a bar after work. Things progress, but there is pushback from Darragh, Cians best friend.
This is a great book and I definitely recommend it!

I love why choose romances!! And in IRISH mafia and it’s all over!!
We first met Harper in the Liar Liar Duet (she was the FMC’s bestie!). The two books run on the same timeline so there is some slight repetition when the besties see each other but not enough that you FEEL like it’s repeating. I loved seeing more of Harper. And her men are just *swooooon* don’t want to spoil it so I won’t give more details but I want to know what happens next!!! Especially with a certain… angry resistant.. man.. *wink wink*
But that cliff hanger. Nope not ok. I need answers and I need them NOW!!!

Oh my, Harpers boys are swoon worthy , they have just the right amount of everything, good looks, charm , danger and drop dead sexiness , shes a lucky girl and I cant wait to see how their relationships develope from here .
I've gotta say Harper is my kind of lady, she knows how to take care of herself , she's strong, knows what she's wants and isn't afraid to work to get it , but has a big heart and loves her family and friends fiercely .
This is a dark and gritty story with a little humour thrown in , im loving it and can't wait for book 2.

I really liked this book! I have not read Jordyn’s story, but I definitely want to now. I don’t think it’s a must, but I’m sure there are little nuances I would have picked up on if I had read that first, but it did not take away any enjoyment I had reading this book! I love Harper and her Irish mafia men. Will she have 3 men completely taken with her or 4? If it’s going to be 4, someone has A LOT of groveling and making up to do. That’s one heck of a cliffhanger as well!!! I can not wait to read part two!! I received this book as an arc. This review is my own personal opinion.

Obsessed 🥰
I loved liar liar, but beautiful liar blew me away.
I was sucked in so quickly, and it did not lose my attention once.
I love the differences in the men, although I'm not convinced on Darraugh becoming part of it.
I also loved harper as a side character in the previous series so getting to see her story and the different sides of her personality was so good.
Cannot actually wait for part two! 🤩
