In this sequel to Hallowed Oblivion , Hank is haunted by his experiences atop the ridge on Halloween night. Watching a group of teens be killed by something monstrous has left him with both physical and mental scars and a lingering desire to know what really happened in those woods. When his best friend, Gerard, disappears into the forest in search of the ghost of his son, Hank knows he needs to act fast and find his friend before whatever killed those kids returns to finish them both off.
Meanwhile, Gerard is obsessed with the need to know what happened to his son. Why has his ghost returned? What are these Woods that he keeps referring to? Woods that supposedly led him back to Gerard? And who are the other voices calling out from that darkness in terror that seem to need his help?

What a world!! "His brain sent up signal flares that what he was doing was insane." Katherine Silva has built a unique universe with the Wild Oblivion series and it is everything you could want in horror. The creatures are mysterious and the thought of what they could do to you is horrifying. The characters are like old friends now, each one is special. This series is dark, a distinct apocalyptic world that is frightening in how quickly your luck can change. This is not a book you can easily put down. What is great about these prequels is that you don't need to know anything to enjoy it. They are all stories that will captivate you and entice you to read the rest. However, if you have read the other books then the tension increases exponentially. You have special insider knowledge while the characters are just baffled by what is going on. You will want to jump into the story and guide our characters to safety but I don't recommend you try that.
Another winner from Silva. This one is fast, unsettling, and it's also one of those stories that will linger after you turn the final page. I'm looking forward to more in this series. Highly recommended!
Lost Oblivion by Katherine Silva is a grief-filled, suspenseful, and brutal tale set in The Wild Oblivion universe where readers get another glimpse into the dark heart of this unusual forest.
I would happily read many more tales centered around Hank. He’s such a gem of a character! His struggles are so real-world, and so relatable even if you haven’t been through something exactly like it. Even when faced with dilemma after dilemma that would break many people, Hank may be affected, but he doesn’t let it change the path of his inner guide; his love of people and wanting to help is just incredible.
Make sure this book is on your radar if you’ve read any of The Wild Oblivion tales! If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend picking all of them up ASAP so you can get absolutely lost in this terrifying forest.
The sequel to Hallowed Oblivion plunges us back into the woods two weeks later after a missed phone call. Immersive, transporting, compelling, and a creature feature beyond your imagination. This sequel dives deeper and refreshes you on what happened on Halloween night in Hallowed Oblivion with the missing teens at Shimmering Rock and delves into the friendships & struggles of the park rangers. I loved it! I love the familiarity of the White Mountain National Forest and the mountains and the horror of it all. Well done, Katherine Silva, you are an auto buy author for me!
This story continues the Story from the previous book, but once again does not give the why and what fore about how this is occurring. There is more depth and description of what is happening, but once again o true explanation. I will need to get the very 1st book in this Series, I guess to find out what is truely happening. Once again narrator does a Excellent job with the characters voices and the entire story!
Excellent sequel to Hollowed Oblivion. You get the same excitement accompanied with more of the depth of the characters personalities. You also get to find out more about what is in the woods ;)
I really liked this continuation from Hallowed Oblivion. I loved the characters and creatures, the suspense and the whole world that's been built here.
