Survivors of the Realm: Thunder Stone Realm Book 2

Rate this book
We pick up where we left off after the events of book one, Thunder Stone Realm. The survivors of the dreaded beast, Hyzothan in the Pivoron Mountains on the planet Thunder Stone Realm are back in their next adventure.

Drifting in space aboard their heavily damaged spacecraft, the Stormbringer, our heroes are picked up by a passing freighter ship near the HD-8478 quadrant. Unaware that something else has decided to come aboard as well. It’s up to Justin Schwartz, Carol Blake and Ramsey Conner to help the band of smugglers aboard their ship, the Leo fend off attacks from the dreaded and highly skilled Cambulonian fighters as well as the hostile and continually evolving presence lurking in the shadows. Their ongoing mission in the far corners of the galaxy are far from over.

Can the survivors of Thunder Stone Realm figure out the mysteries that lie inside the billion year old dreaded black hole looming in deep space and beyond before it’s too late or will the horrors within the dead star claim them all?

Eugene Weaver (https://eugeneweaverpublishing.com) is the author of three novels. Survivors of the Realm was published in 2023 and is the second in his Thunder Stone Realm Trilogy.

I downloaded an ARC of this book through a promotion by BookSirens with the expectation of a fair and honest review. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own!

The survivors of the starship Caldwell escape the planet they call Stone Realm and make their way back through the wormhole. There they are detected by a ship crewed by not quite pirates.

I engaged in this 341-page science fiction novel for almost two hours completing 10% of the novel. I had read the prequel Thunder Stone Realm. Both novels reminded me of science fiction from the 50s and 60s, action and excitement without much consideration for science. I called a Rule of 50 at this point and gave up on this novel. I like the chosen cover art.

Very enjoyable continuation of the Thunder Stone Realm. It introduces some new characters and takes you through a compelling action/survival sci-fi space adventure. The story wraps up nicely but still leaves things up in the air heading into book 3 of the trilogy. I very much look forward to the final book!
