Disappointed – Not What I Expected, but May Appeal to Others
When I picked up Accessing the Superconscious by RJ Spina, I was hoping for a clear, step-by-step guide to accessing the higher self and strengthening intuition. Unfortunately, the book didn’t meet that expectation.
Much of the content focuses on the author’s personal healing journey from paralysis, which is certainly inspiring. However, the actual process of how he healed is not explained in this book—it’s covered in another of his books. This made it feel more like a promotional introduction to his broader work than a standalone resource.
The book also frequently encourages readers to take his courses to truly master the techniques, which again came across as more marketing than teaching. Additionally, the author refers to himself as a “Master,” though it’s unclear what qualifies him for that title.
That said, readers who are already familiar with non-dual teachings, metaphysics, or energy work might resonate with the spiritual framework he presents. But for those looking for a practical, structured method to access their superconscious, this book may not deliver what they’re looking for.
In my case, I didn’t find the book helpful—but others on a different path may find value in its message.
I enjoyed the wisdom and lessons in this book! It gave me lots to reflect on and the meditations and practical exercises were a brilliant way to integrate along the way.
I gave it 4 stars because I didn't resonate with some of the language when referring to the EMI (ego). It felt very judgemental and emphasised the 'undesirable' characteristics of the ego and how to bypass it rather than how to wield and work along side the ego in our human experience.
I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by the author, and although I really enjoyed hearing it straight from the horses mouth- so to speak- it also raised this internal conflict with his delivery and how his voice, while authoritative, edged into pretentious/ostentatious at times. I really tried to unhear the flair and self-importance, but I felt an underlying tone that I didn't quite resonate with.
Again, I appreciate so much of the wisdom and teachings in this book! I definitely recommend it to those who feel curious about it.

Good but Access Super Consciousness was better. This is a good book. The only issue I had with it is that the exercises are repeats from his earlier book, Supercharged Self-Healing, which was a seminal book for me. The instructions and exercises were good but I don’t see the point of readers buying basically a reprint. Maybe RJ Spina had new insights that led him to publish another book, but couldn’t he add new content, referring the reader to his earlier book for the previous source material? It propounds 24 meditation-based teachings, many being repeats.
Wooow, this was incredible. So much golden information about energy and mindfulness. I pretty much highlighted the whole book. I used many of the instant meditation techniques and they always bring me back to center.
Yeah this guy is no Eckhart Tolle. I've never seen "a Master" be so self referential in a book before. Also his language choice is OTT intellectual -- it's really unnecessary, plenty of ego in there. Not someone I'd be taking spiritual advice from.
Errr good book on stuff around consciousness, nothing new if you have been reading around this topic for decades. I rolled my eyes a lot like stuff about Jesus going to India to learn from the guru of maharishi or something of that sort :D and many more such stuff.. like avatars.. LOLOLOL
