I’m falling for him. But will he put his ambition aside to be the daddy my baby deserves?* * *A steamy standalone enemies-to-lovers, one-night-stand, billionaire boss, second chance, brother’s best friend, fake relationship, forced-proximity, secret baby, hockey romance book. No cliffhanger, no cheating, no love triangles and no violence.
This is a story between two strong personalities that takes place in the Hockey world. The story of Izzy, an ambitious team coach and Dom, former NHL begins with a one-night-stand and develops to, imo, too many tropes. Overall, I enjoyed it and I believe it had potential but there were a bunch of inconsistencies and a few more things that bothered me:
-I didn’t get why she didn’t know about her brother’s friendship with Dom especially since he was such a legend (brother’s BF trope that wasn’t even fully developed) -The reason for the fake relationship wasn’t very convincing -I didn’t like the abbreviations used like MIA or BS. -I definitely didn’t like their fantasies. Why describe fantasies instead of having them react with each other a little more? -When they first met, she was on the pill (which I’m not sure why it means it’s ok to continue without protection but whatever). Later she gets pregnant and none of them wonders why?! She never mentioned she stopped taking it. -The ex boyfriend that suddenly appeared out of nowhere to stalk her (we’re never told after how many years actually) made little sense. -Also, the ending was a bit rushed. -There were phrases repeated but maybe that’s simply because it was an arc. It needed some more editing.
It’s written in 1st person, dual POV and has some steamy- not perfectly executed- scenes 🌶️🌶️.
I guess I’d give it 2,5/5 ⭐️ because it was promising but needed some more work.

Isabella is a hockey strategy coach working for a team owned by her one night stand hockey star Dom. Dom wants her to act as his fake fiancé so that investors for his new arena will be more behind him. I did feel that the reasons behind the situation to act as a fake fiancé was weak and didn’t make much sense. The storyline of her ex boyfriend stalker resolved quickly without any resolution being told. Also found the ending of the book happened too quickly. Needed to be fleshed out more. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I am always up for a good hockey romance and Izzy and Dom are interesting characters in their own right. And I love the idea of a woman being successful in a male dominated area. The story has good bones but I found that a number of inconsistencies in the story really pulled my attention away from the plot and being fully committed to the story line. Tidying up those inconsistencies would definitely make the story read more smoothly and keep me more engaged with the characters. I received an free advance review copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily
I love hockey romance and as such, this was a great and sweet story. The main characters are nice and well developed. Making Dom and Izzy managers / coaches of opposing teams was a refreshing change from the usual player / girl trope.
However, there were lots of continuity problems. Parts of the story not connecting, paragraphs contradicting each other and in the end, cliche developments which left me disappointed.
The story has great potential, but needs edited, checked, and injected with more surprising twists or more originality overall. Hence why I have given it 3 stars.
3 1/2 ⭐️ This book had the potential to be a great book. The characters were solid, the chemistry believable but the execution of the book let it down. With some much needed edits this good be great.
As much as I enjoyed the couple’s dynamics and chemistry, which was hot. I also found the way he treated her at work a bit troubling especially as she was supposed to be integral in his business venture. All he succeeded in was getting her to quit and sign up elsewhere.
I also found it a bit slow going about 1/4 of the way in.
It was quite repetitive in places. Parts were duplicated with no changes whatsoever.
Her constantly giving herself a pep talk on her being independent, who is she trying to convince, the world or herself. After all, her success should speak for themselves but she still doubts herself. And there is the repeated mention of his tattoos and wanting to know the story behind them, was just a bit off for me and poof, nothing.
And then the ending just felt rushed.

I wanted to like this, I really did…but sadly I cannot recommend this book. The idea of the story was good, but there were so many grammatical errors and repetitiveness…honestly, it was just a hot mess.
Another predictable cutesie read. I read thing one in between a thicc SJM book. For a light read where you don’t really have to concentrate to read it, it was good. Not one I’d re read though.
I hate to leave less than glowing reviews but this one just didn’t really “do it” for me. I couldn’t get into it and I found it pretty wordy and drawn out. The plot was also a bit disjointed. It would go one way, and then turn in a completely different direction. It wasn’t a bad book, the characters were interesting, and there were a couple of intriguing subplots. They just weren’t enough to move the story forward. I’ve read this author before and I enjoyed her writing, so I will definitely be reading her again. I think this one just didn’t mesh with me.

DNFed at 25%. This should have been titled "Not Another Pucking Hockey Book". The purple prose was almost satirical at times. The writing got in its own way too much for me to continue the book.
This book needs more editing. There were several times complete sentences were repeated a paragraph later. At one point they are referring to the game just ending and players patting each other on the back but then the next paragraph it starts talking about the first period of the game. What? Also, the word cacophony is used multiple times too close together. It felt like the whole book the author was trying to hit a certain word goal and just kept regurgitating the same thoughts. I don’t recommend this book.
As a woman, the concept of finding a path into the world of men’s sports is at best a challenge, and at worst, a misogynistic nightmare. But for Isabella—Izzy Carrington, a strong-willed, beautiful woman with thick, shiny, raven-black strands of shoulder-length hair and hazel eyes in her mid 20’s, is pursuing a career as a coach—a strategist—a strategy manager—is the logical outcome of spending years carefully observing her older brother become a skilled and talented hockey player, and now a member of the NHL’s Silver Blades.
Over the years, Izzy had spent countless hours attending her brother’s hockey practices and games. And, over the years and hours of watching the players’ movements across the ice, feinting and swerving, countering the opposition’s moves, always following the puck, she began to see patterns as intentional, not chance or luck.
And now, the siblings, are both members of the same professional hockey organization the Silver Blades. And, the siblings have the chance to share the possibility of the team’s success on the ice—she charting new territory as a female serving as a strategical force, and her brother leading the team to victory by executing his sister’s insightful strategy.
But, just as there are strategical moves in the sport of ice hockey, Izzy has found herself caught in front office strategical moves as the one of the new owners of the Silver Blades, Dominic—Dom—Steele, a dark haired, blue-eyed legendary hockey player for the Silver Blades, who following a career-ending injury, has re-entered the sport in the front office following his injury-forced retirement. And now, he is attending the NHL Strategy Symposium where he spots Izzy Carrington, the younger sister of Sam, one of his former teammates and best friends.. And, he can’t help but be fascinated by the beautiful strategist for the Silver Blades, finding her a blend of strength, beauty, and intelligence—a dangerously alluring combination.
And as the former player and the current strategist come in contact, sparks fly, but neither friend nor sister are willing to risk their relationship with Sam—best friend and brother. And, the dynamics of being a part of the same organization is sharpened when a man from Izzy’s past—a wealthy former college boyfriend is trying to reconnect with Izzy, forcefully and destructively bringing his malevolence back into her world.

I really rate this at a 3.5 ⭐️ Spice 🌶 🌶 Tropes: - Hockey Romance - Enemies to Lovers - Brothers best friend/ teammate - Fake Relationship - Stalking Ex - Grumpy MMC - One Night Stand
Triggers: Stalking, Bullying (in my opinion)
Izzy has always sent to her brother Sam's hockey games. Watching the team Silver Blades skate and watching the puck. Picking up and learning is not just luck. She then goes on to become the sports manager for the team, all while in her 20s. She's a thick, beautiful girl with tavern hair. Dom is a former hockey player for the Silver Blades who had to retire from a career ending injury. He then goes on to become the owner of the team. He's tattooed, tall, and grumpy and good-looking.
3 months prior, these two meet at the hockey symposium. Their attraction is instant, and after talking and drinking at the bar there, they have a one night stand. So fast forward 3 months, a meeting is called by the new owner of the team. Much to Izzy surprise, it's Dom. I don't really like the way he treats her during this time, and Izzy ends up taking a new offer with another team, the Star Pucks. From there on its competition between them. Dom's investors are getting on to him about backing him for a new arena. Which the team really needs. Dom comes up with the idea of fake dating Izzy to get his investors to back him. She agrees because she knows it's a need and her brother still plays for the team. She agrees to the fake relationship and moves into Dom's apartment. She just doesn't want her brother to find out about this arrangement.
Also, during this time, Izzy's ex, Jason, starts showing up to where she's at, trying to get her back. For some reason, that resolved itself in the book and no clue why or what happened. The book seemed slow at first, with a lot of repeats. Like always asking about his tattoos and why he got them. Then, the book seemed rushed at the end. They got their HEA, but it happened so quickly from where it was in the middle of the book. This book had the workings to be great. It just needed a few kinks worked out. I love hockey romance and took a chance on this book. Was just a little disappointed in some of it.
I received this book as an ARC through BookSirens. This honest and fair review, I feel.
Wooo!! When sassy smart Isabella Carrington meets the hunky former hockey star, Dominic Steele one night in New York, their instant attraction pulls them together faster than a puck skidding and sliding across the hard frozen ice rink. They're flirty banter flowed easily and it carried and boiled over into having one night together.🔥
Three months later finds Isabella back at work being a strategy manager with her hockey team, the Silver Blades in Seattle. She works hard and knows the ins and outs of a game. She's hands on. She stands up for herself and commands respect in a male dominated sport. Her brother Sam is also a hockey player with the team. Then the new owner shows up.
Dominic arrives and decides to try to put in his advice, his opinions in with his team and Izzy as well, and... Boom!! Fireworks.🎆🎆🎆 These two clash and try to get control over what will and will not carry the team to a championship game and regular drills and or playing moves. Who's on the roster?! Who isn't. I mean everything. It was hilarious. Neither one admits defeat. Then Isabella takes an offer with the Star Pucks. Oh oh. Competition. She can't be undermined intelligently by Dom. Plus, her attraction to him doesn't help.
With Dom's investors breathing down his neck over this situation and the dream to build the new Apex Stadium for future games; he has to get it together and form a plan with Isabella. Will she accept a fake relationship proposal?!🤔 And can they stay away from each other long enough to get what they each want?! Read this and find out. Oh and Jason Sinclair, Isabella's creepy ex, comes to cause trouble for both of them.
I thought this was really good. No spoilers. This is my first book by this author that I've read. I hope to read more. Dom smolders. And Isabella is super feisty. They work very well together. You have to read this. It's fun. Romantic. Spicy.🔥🔥🔥 Recommend. Happy reading!!!🩵🧊🩵
⛸️Thank you for an early book via Booksprout. This is my honest opinion on this story.⛸️.
This was an enemies to lovers sports fake relationship romance.
The story has good bones but had several inconsistencies which detracted from the book. Also Dom's character was too much of a jerk to like even when he was injured. With some heavy editing this would be a great book.
Isabella Carrington is the sports manager for the Seattle Silver Blades. Her older brother Sam plays for the Blades.
Dominic Steele is a hockey legend and owner of the Hudson Sports Group sports conglomerate. He is close friends with Sam.
They meet when both attend the NHL Annual Strategy Symposium. They spent the night talking and flirting in the bar before heading up to his suite to hook up for a one night stand. Dom calls a surprise meeting with the General Manager Rick Hansen and Isabella to talk strategy. She is shocked to see he is the big boss. They have a clash of wills and bicker in front of the team. He is pushing her but doesn't tell her why. She gets an offer from Seattle's newest team the Starpucks and accepts a position as GM. At an investor's meeting they are concerned that she left and may hold up finding his project to build a new state of the art arena -Apex Arena. He comes up with a plan to have a fake engagement with Isabella to win over his investors and promises her team full access to the new arena. She agrees and moved into his apartment. Her ex college boyfriend Jason shows up as a new investor in the Starpucks. The two teams have a training camp together and Jason shows up. He calls a press conference to talk about their fake relationship. Dom and Isabella realize they fell in love for real and get their HEA.

📚Who Should read :
👶Beginners 💝Romance Lover 💕Brother's Best Friend Romance 🏒Sports Romance
I really enjoyed this book. I absolutely love that there is a woman in power/upper management in a man dominated sport. The chemistry between Dom and Isabella is hot right out of the gate when they first meet. A hot one night stand months later turns into a work place relationship and moves into (almost) an enemies to lovers situation. Isabella removes herself from the toxic power struggle at work while advancing her career but it creates issues for Dom. He proposes a fake engagement to benefit both of their careers and Isabella reluctantly agreed. They try to keep it to a business arrangement status but struggle with the chemistry that builds. Isabella has an ex that is one of the team investors but they have a history that is not pleasant and he is out up sabotage everything that Isabella as well as Dom have been working on. This was a great read and was a pallet cleanser because I typically read a lot of dark stuff. Only thing I would have liked was a little more at the end as I feel like there was a huge buildup so the conclusion felt short for me.
Tropes: One Night Stand, Brothers best friend, Work place romance, Accidental Pregnancy and Forced Proximity, Stalker situation
This was a quick and spicy read. As much as I enjoy that, there were aspects of this book that I would have liked to have had more of.
Isabella and Dom as a couple were great. Their chemistry was hot and they had that push and pull to their relationship that really resonates with me. Both were dominant and fierce in their own right and having Izzy in a management position of a male dominated sport really appealed to me. I loved that she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it, especially a position with a rival team. She knew her worth and that was fantastic!
I loved Dom, he was dominant and hot and sexy and pretty much all you want in a bad boy book boyfriend character but sometimes he was a jackass and I don't know if that made him more or less endearing to me...LOL
I was drawn to the conflict with Izzy's ex and thought he was the perfect prat like an ex should be. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of that conflict woven into more of the story. I thought it resolved kinda fast.
An enjoyable read and I thank Livvy for the eArc copy. This review is my own.
This is my first time reading a book by Livvy Stone, but it will not be the last! I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Although the big trope is revealed on the book blurb, it doesn't start right from the beginning. The two main characters have an established relationship and off the charts chemistry that makes it all that more believable. Stone's ability to immerse the reader into how the characters are feeling is amazing! I could feel everything coming off the page from the tension to how the rain was sounding on the sidewalk as they walked. Another fresh take was the FMC was in the hockey world, not just the girl who was falling for a hockey player. She has risen through the ranks to become a successful general manager and, while having to defend her ability to be there, never backs down and dominates in a man's world. I loved this perspective and hope to see more of it! The spice in the book is enough to hold your attention, but not so much where you are blushing in public while reading it on your kindle (IYKYK). I am so glad I chose this book and will definitely seek out more books by Stone.
This is all over the place. It takes far to long to even figure out Isabelle is the coach, she runs the team based on algorithms and spreadsheets. She meets Dom at a convention, they have a one night stand, she doesn’t seem to know he’s one of brothers best friends (Sam is on the team she coaches & they’re close) she doesn’t know he’s at least part owner of the team she works for, they have power struggle, she leaves for the start up cross town rival, this creates doubts with his investors to support an over the top, state of art new arena- which they act like can be built over night, his brilliant answer is a fake engagement and share the arena with the rival team she’s just sign on with. Boom 🤯 I’ve had enough desperate grasps for a plot at 41%, I’m surrendering to chaos for the win.
Yay for Isabella Carrington , as a data analyst coach she’s managing her brother’s hockey team. Power to the girl! The new owner Dom Steele is more than a bedpost memory. There’s an instant spark resurfacing but they clash on what’s best for the team. He proposes a fake relationship to appease his backers , so they see him in a new light. All Isabella sees him in is dark …and sultry. But not creepy like her unfavourable ex Jason …When in close proximity thanks to a stormy blizzard stranding Izzy and Dom in a snow surrounded cabin , their steam rekindles their desire . The chemistry is palpable and hot. Brilliant steam standalone story , compelling experience with great characters I read a advance copy and my review is voluntary and in my own words
Dom and Isabella two head strong smart beautiful sexy people trying not to kill each other hahahaha. Seriously their bickering are epic they always go against each other and trying their best to prevail the other's ideas and opinions....
They had endless chemistry from the beggining and they have throughout the book, so much chemistry, so much attraction so much everything....!
And ofcourse is going to be an "oh oh" situation where they will need to fake their relationship for the good of the team(sponsors) that will eventually and after many twist and turns will turn onto ....HEA????????read and learn.

This is the first book from this author that I have read. I was a bit bored and disappointed truthfully. I love hockey romance stories but this one did not "do it" for me. I felt that Isabella ran away at the first sign of trouble, she should have stood up more for herself. I saw Dom as more of an alpha male instead of a bad boy. The stalker should have been introduced from the beginning of the book, felt like more of an add on. Isabella and Dom did not have much chemistry and I just couldn't picture them as a couple. The premise of a fake engagement to satisfy investors did not make much sense. There are always other people out there who would be good for the job.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Dom and Isabella meet one night and have a great time together. Months later the owner of the team comes to help out and have input into training. Not only is her new boss the man she had a one-night stand with, but he turns out to be her brother's friend. After a few months of these new changes, she gets a job offer with a rival team and decides to take it. The story continues to get more complicated as various obstacles and surprises keep finding a way to meddle. What a fun story!.

Two power house personalities in the world of hockey management clash, igniting sparks of competition & sexual tension. Isabelle's dedication and fortitude stands out. I love the career moves she made and the continued success. That Dom has his own success and could admire and respect hers made their relationship even more sexy. 3.5/5 stars because of the overuse of the word manhood. There was a serious lack of dialogs between the characters and far too much internal dialog. In some parts the story was disjointed but managed to find its way back in track. With just a little more editing (and a manhood thesaurus), this definitely has the framework to behind a solid series starter.
This was a sweet, moderately steamy story of a strong female character, Isabella successfully making her way in the very male dominated sports/hockey world. Her "Bad Boy" boss, Dom, is hindering her attempts to be in control every step of the way.
"She’s a challenge—a puzzle I haven't solved, a game with moves yet to be played. And I’ve never been one to walk away from a challenge."-Dom He definitely had me giggling at his dialog.
I thought this was entertaining and had my beloved HEA ending. It had a few holes and felt a little rushed towards the end but not so much that it was ruined for me. The spice level for me was 2 1/2-3 🌶. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot.
Plot is contrived and drawn out. Couldn’t decide if Isabella was a manager or a coach. She was only ever called a manager and a manger is not the coach. Trivial, I know. Long drawn out paragraphs were choppy when reading, with many having not much to say.. I found myself flipping ahead and eventually pushed myself to just read the end and move on. My biggest problem is that she didn’t tell her own brother she was getting a new job. Who wouldn’t tell them? Or maybe it was just omitted by author. Plot twist that went wrong. Not sure I will try another other books or not.
Nothing like a fake relationship to spark controversy. However, when the sparks are too real, the heat gets turned up.
Isabella does not like her "new boss", the owner of the team who comes in, makes waves, and dominates. So, when she's offered a better position with an opposing team, she takes it.
To try and keep their franchises intact, as well as keep investors happy, they take on the fake dating scam. Sparks ignite, tensions bloom, and soon it's meeting in the sheets.
It's intense, dynamic, and turning more real by the day. Check it out if you like a strong woman who stands up to her alpha male.
Dom's such an a**, why didn't he just ask her out on a date like a normal person. And then to jump to fake engagement, not even regular fake dating 😂
I really enjoyed this story. It made me laugh. I liked the chemistry between Isabella and Dom. BUT, I really don't like the suprise pregnancy trope. I'm frustrated that she got pregnant, even though she's on the pill. I was actually happy when I read she was on the pill, and then... yeah.

Pucking My Bad Boy Boss is the lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers story of Isabella and Dom. The chemistry and banter between these two is great. Tropes include brother’s best friend, fake engagement, accidental pregnancy, workplace romance, forced proximity. The only 2 things I didn’t like were the constant use of hockey related comparisons in non-hockey conversations or thoughts, and that the ending felt a little rushed in terms of the resolution with the ex. Otherwise, good story, exactly as described in the blurb.
I loved this lovers to enemies to lovers story of Isabella and Dom. The chemistry is to die for and the banter these two engage in is great. Isabella is feisty and strong in a male dominated profession, and Dom is definitely dominant and lives up to his strong persona we meet at the beginning. Some of the tropes included are brother’s best friend, fake engagement, and workplace romance. I couldn’t put this down and of course that’s what I look for in a book! Livvy is an author I will definitely continue to read.
