Etched in Darkness returns the reader to the Veil of Shadows world in a seventh book that rocks a new adventure as well as introducing foes old and new who engage the reader and keep them wholly invested in the powerful dynamics that have been set into motion by those who hold sway over mortal and immortal.
Lead protagonists Jed and Shay are brought together by circumstances beyond their control for a battle which will play out against a backdrop of action, adventure, intrigue, violence, magic, and hope. The undead walk the earth and the lines between good and evil have been drawn.
Will they find and hold onto love in this reformed realm?
The answers lay within the pages of this well written, character rich descent into a Paranormal maze of heaven and hell.
This is a series I continue to enjoy and devour for its immersive and enriching storytelling!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I can definitely say that I could not put it down. Jed being half Angel and Shay's strength are electric together! I loved the way that Nero loves Shay and her him. This is an incredible, original story, that has me excited for the next book. I really do want more1 I Loved It!!! No Spoilers! No Blurb repeats!
I received an ARC and i am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Choose To and think that this story is Original and Outstanding!!!
This was so good! I enjoyed this story and the characters are great, especially Nero! With the walking dead continuing to roam and a mob heading to California, Jed decides that’s where he needs to go. Things don’t always go to plan, though and when he meets Shay he knows he has to protect her. He’s inexplicably drawn to her and when her world is turned upside down, he knows he can’t leave her behind.
The beginning of Jed and Shay's story arc is a trip into the past and an introduction to the zombie apocalypse on the Earthen plane. With the dead refusing to stay that way, zombies roaming and turning the living, and both Demons and Angels hunting them, life has become a deadly game of hide and seek for Jed and Shay. M.R. Pritchard weaves a gripping dark fantasy full of wonderful world-building and fantastic characters. I received an advanced copy from the author
Romance, zombies, apocalypse and Nephilim in one book. I should have loved it as these are some of my favourite things. But it fell a bit short for me. The character development and the world building was a bit weak and the writing style seemed junior. I received and advanced readers copy for an honest review and that is how I felt about it.
I enjoyed the premise and found it appealing and intriguing. However, I found I could not fully immerse myself in the world built. I lacked the connection with the characters that I normally crave. While I love their romance and have always been attracted to Nephilim stories, there wasn't that usual spark I crave. Good story, still!
3.8 Even knowing this book is the seventh in this series I went for it. Enjoyable with moments of extreme stress this book rocks as a standalone. Interesting premise as well as thoughtful world building. Love the horse and its part in the story. I am now interested in the rest of the series. I received this book from Booksirens and am happy to leave this review.
I started this series in the middle with this book so I wasn’t expecting zombies. However the story is well written and I liked Shay and Jed, but Nero was my favorite. It’s action packed and everything is deadly. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This short read failed to hold my attention. The storyline had potential but something was missing. I liked the chemistry between the characters though. Overall, it was an okay read.
