C.K. loves to play make-believe, transporting readers to a place where heroes must step out of the seemingly endless cycle of family curses, where magic is as beautiful and untamable as we think, and where every person deserves to be celebrated.
When I discovered these books on tiktok I was intrigued. And I am so happy to ordered these! The characters have depth and are interesting. The story is compelling and is so well told. It fits together as puzzle pieces. There are twist and turns, and you just wanna know more. Queen Soulin is a character you love to hate, but you can't but root for her. And in this book you discover there is so much more to her then you think. The other characters are evenly wel written and their stories just as good. I can't wait for book three to come!

Absolutely loved this book. It was action packed from start to finish. I loved the different POV’s and getting all the different storylines. Loved seeing more of the world and the different kingdoms. It was so interesting seeing how all the storylines connected. There is spice but it’s not overdone. The twists and turns were done so well and the cliffhanger had my jaw on the floor.
First of all, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the author, C.K. Franziska for generously providing me with a free advanced reader copy. This review is entirely voluntarily, and I want to emphasize that it truly reflects my genuine emotions and thoughts about the story.
Star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice rating 🌶️🌶️
"Hunteress," the sequel to "Monsteress," provided an absolutely delightful reading experience. Having the privilege to read "Hunteress'' before its official release date was an honor. This epic fantasy novel continued the journey of Soulin, Cyrus, and Khaos as they explored the world. The addition of Devana's point of view added depth and complexity to the story, making it even more engaging. Her character evolution was a particular highlight that I thoroughly enjoyed.
In the first book, "Monsteress," Queen Soulin was initially depicted as a cruel character due to her past. However, "Hunteress" revealed a different side of her that I found genuinely endearing. Her remarkable character development left me eagerly anticipating more of her narrative. The growing chemistry and bond between Khaos and Soulin were beautifully portrayed in "Hunteress," and I look forward to witnessing their relationship flourish in future books. I'm intrigued by how all these interconnected relationships will unfold in the upcoming installments.
The author's storytelling features an original and well-crafted plot, set in a meticulously crafted world. The unexpected twists and turns in the narrative elevated the book to a higher level of storytelling. With each new book, the author's skills continue to improve, and I applaud her for that. The cliffhanger ending left me in suspense and fully engaged, eagerly anticipating what lies ahead. I'm particularly excited about Otyx's book and the opportunity to explore his side of the story.
Such. An. Amazing. Read! This story didn’t start out with who I expected nor how I expected, but it was so worth it. It brought so many things to an end and closure- but opened up a whole new can of worms by the end. And I mean, WHAT in the WHAT?! What has Soulin done?? I need to know! This book has multiple POVs but it’s written so intricately that I can follow along pretty easily. There’s been a lot of characters development and storytelling in this book. I’m absolutely craving the next installment!!
There are so many twists and turns and characters. This storyline definitely keeps you on your toes. The writing of the Villanova is done so well that you can't help but hate her and then feel hope for her redemption. I can't wait to see what the next book brings.
This book was a showstopper!!!!! Love every fast paced moment! Can’t wait for the 3rd in the Crymzon Chronicle series!!! There are no words, It’s just That good!
Full transparency I was given an ARC copy of this book. That being said oh my gosh! Better than the first (and I loved the first) the addition character POV really brought a new element to that story. This book is thrilling, captivating, and enjoyable. No spoilers but 100% 10 out of 10 recommend.
Thank you so much to C.K. Franziska for the ARC opportunity to read Hunteress! And again - beautiful cover!
Synopsis :
Being trained to assassinate Monsteress at a young age, Devana lives in the Confines, always knowing her true purpose…until she gets captured. While Queen Soulin is occupied with the God of the Underworld, Devana finds herself in Monsteress' territory. Being so close to fulfilling her duty, she battles with her daily muscle pain, the loss of a man she thought she had lost, and the search for her father. Everything seems lost until she makes it to the Brass Palace, just to discover Otvx isn't the only one preparing to go up against Monsteress. As she stands between the kingdoms, she has to decide: Is everything she knows about Monsteress true, or has the real enemy been hiding in plain sight all along?
As soon as I finished Monsteress I immediately started Hunteress. It picks up right where we left off following Devana, Cyrus, Khaos, & Soulin.
I love how she describes each kingdom in such detail and writes it phenomenally. You can visualize what she created so clearly. Starstrand was my favorite by far!
I loved the story plot in this book. I loved Soulin in the first book - even though she has a rough character. By the middle of this book we learn her reasoning and I admire her strength and resilience. C.K.’s writing style definitely keeps you sucked in to find out what happens next. It was the same as the first book where there were moments I was sure I knew what was about to happen and I was surprised with the actual outcome. The spice in this book is good and sweet between certain characters. The ending leaves you with a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book 3 to come out! Very excited for what C.K. Franziska has in store for us!
I received the books in this series as e-ARCs from the author. This is the second book in the series.
Originally, I was going to rate hunteress four stars because I was enjoying it a lot more than monsteress. I found it entertaining the whole time and although the smut wasn’t for me, I still liked all the twists and turns and the overall story line of this book.
I changed my mind when Cyrus cheated on Liza. I feel like it was unnecessary to even have Liza be Cyrus’ “lover” at all because they had no chemistry in the first book and Liza probably only said a paragraph the whole book. They could’ve just been friends living together because then it would’ve been okay for Cyrus and Devana to end up with each other. That part of the book really disappointed me because it was unnecessary and I think it took away from the story because it was random. I didn’t find that there was chemistry between Devana and Cyrus either??
Regardless, I still want to finish the series because I have hopes that Otyx will be better.

Granted it didn't start how I thought it would, I honestly thought we would start off seeing what happened to Soulin from the cliffhanger from the end of Monsyteress. Instead we start off with Devana's pov from their past and a little on her back story.
The world building continues to me top tier! I will say that I had a very hard time loving Soulin because of Monsteress, but in Hunteress, you see a side of her that makes me admire her strength and her as a person in general.
The love Khaos has fore Soulin is astounding and any person would be lucky to have that love and devotion from a partner. I will say I wasn't expecting Devana and Cyrus to end up with each other though since I thought he was with Liza but I wasn't mad about it.
I am very curious how things are going to progress with Otyx and Crymzon but am excited to find out. This book ended with one hell of a cliffhanger and I hope that everything works out in the next book.

The twists and turns this book takes was so unexpected. You plan to hate the Queen and then find out she’s actually kinda great. The spice is low, but the scenes that are in it are great. They are written well and don’t drag on with unrealistic details, like, I could see real people in the situations they are in when reading the spicy scenes. I personally like that. Sometimes it’s hard to envision the acrobatics that happen in some spicy scenes haha. But this one is realistic and sweet. I really like the character development in this one, all of them are built so well. We get to have way more about Davena and her story is really really good. It’s compelling, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages! Highly recommend if you like fantasy, and light spice.

At the end of my review for Monsteress, I had said that even through the harsh things Monsteress does, one can’t help but to believe there is more to her. That she isn’t that cruel. Starting this book, I realized I may have been wrong. The twist in this book took me by full surprise. Sure there’s things about characters in the book you piece together throughout the first and this book. But that major “OMFG” moment, was worth the heartache I felt each time I lost hope in Monsteress. And Hunteress?! She so deserved that name. I loved hearing part of her journey and need MORE. I have so many questions! This book was so well written just like Monsteress. The detail allowed me to form a clear picture/movie in my mind and I am obsessed. I highly recommend this series!
Hunteress starts off from Devana’s pov as we learn more about her background and how she ended up in the confines. Monsteress is still dealing with the upcoming war in the kingdom and her peoples power draining away. This book kept me on my toes and the twist and turns through our were brilliant. Monsteress’s character development is amazing and doesn’t happen all at once which I love. As Monsteress and Khaos’s relationship develops and Cyrus faces is own challenges with escape we see their lives starting to blend together in a perfect way. This book has 4 POVs but the intertwine phenomenal. The spice is a one. The book does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read what’s gonna happen. As always check trigger warnings before reading this book.
While continuing to follow the FMC (Soulin) and the MMC (Khaos) from Monsteress, Hunteress has its own FMC (Devana) and MMC (Cyrus) that have their own adventures and trials. The twists and turns that are in this book are unbelievable. I was on the edge of my seat for the last 20 chapters trying to predict what was going to happen and I was still shocked by the ending. I absolutely love the way C. K. Franziska follows each individual characters points of view and showing how each character is just as important as the last. I love the Crymzon Chronicles and would absolutely recommend it.
The characters in this book?? Wow, they have depth and are so much more developed.
You may hate Queen Soulin (or no) but in both cases you root for her! You learn so much more about her. I enjoyed Cyrus and Khaos, they were so interesting. I liked the new POV, Devana’s.
The story has twists and an original world setting. I applaud the author for her skills, her writing grew a lot in this book. I’m super excited for the next book!
Book 2 of this series was just what I wanted……after the world building of book 1, Hunteress allows us to get to know our characters on a more personal level Queen Soulin is one we love to hate and find out so much more about her The characters come together and intertwine with twists at every turn…..and Hunteress 🙌🏼🙌🏼 If you love romantasy with complex characters and world building this is a wonderful series
I absolutely loved the second book to the Crymzon Chronicles! I liked how the author brought in more points of view. Also loved the character development for Soulin and how we got to know more about her and saw why she was the way she was. Also… that ending? I need to know what Soulin did!!!!
Monsteress was a tough act to follow, but Hunteress was close behind! The world building and story was beautifully put together. I was so engrossed into this one and couldn't put it down. I am so excited to see where book 3 takes me.
While I loved Monsteress, I loved this one even more! I feel like the author polished her writing and found a pace and cadence that worked perfectly. The slow burn drove me mad almost until the end where it got me with another cliffhanger. Such a great book, I highly recommend it!
monsteress was a great first book but hunteress definitely lived up to it. this book went into more world building and the story building was beautifully done. It drew me in immediately and i couldnt put it down. author did an amazing job yet again. 10 out of 10 recommend
Book 2 is a fun roller coaster of an adventure and I had the BEST time reading it.
I absolutely adore the way Queen Soulin is written and her journey to healing and learning that it’s okay to be vulnerable is bordering on Nesta from ACOTAR. I love this character so much. 🥰
Apparently I can’t get enough of this story or this author’s writing because I am frothing at the mouth needing to read more. These characters are incredible and just when you think you know where things are going things twist. It’s unpredictable and so satisfying!!
The story is great! There’s magic, unworldly beasts, action, drama, spice…everything! Love the characters. Even the “bad” ones, especially the bad ones! Great fantasy world!
Just as I hope book 2 in this series was even better. The story flowed better and had more scenes that made me read faster. The ending, though!!! Omgah
Hunteress was probably my favorite book in the series. There is so much happening all at once but it’s easy to follow along. Again more baddassery by your female characters
I’m STILL obsessed with this series. So much so that I read the entire book in one sitting 👀 (My head hurts, but my heart is happy 😍🥹).
Queen Soulin is seriously such a powerhouse. She’s ruthless, brilliant, and walks that fine line between hero and antihero so perfectly that I didn’t know whether to cheer for her or be terrified of her (honestly, both 🤷🏻♀️). Her emotional complexity has completely hooked me—I can’t stop thinking about her even after I put the book down.
And Devana? I will be honest and say that I wasn’t sure about her at first. BUT now I understand that I shouldn’t have been wary. She’s fierce, loyal, and so full of heart. I can’t wait to see how her story unfolds!
The world, the characters, the emotions—everything was just chef’s kiss. 🤌🏼💋 This was another 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me!
'Are you crying? No, I'm not doing that. Suck those tears up.'
Book 2 finished in about 3 hours total. The start of this book had so many 'you're lying!' moments it is unbelievable. There was also a hint of suggestion that there could be some WLW for a minute there and I was READY for it 😂.
The entire book took me through emotions that I am glad I experienced away from the public because I almost threw it a few times and I think I would have caused some damage to a person's skull 💀.
But the ending?! I cannot. Immediately picking up the next book, which I fear is a novella so I still won't have answers but a trip to the underworld and the God of sin? 👀 Count me in.
