Finished the Series

What a terrific series! The Ashes books have all been a great read, each one of the 32 fast paced, yet full of detail, character development and plot progression. I started the first book looking forward to a solid dystopian tale. Out of the Ashes was such a fun story that when I finished it, I immediately acquired the next three in the series, and I was reading a book every few days, unable to stop reading them. I guess I finished the series in about 90 days, although now I'm sad that the story has ended. Once you, as the reader, get into the storyline, it is as though you are reading about your friends' adventures and you want to continue learning more. It has been a fun ride, and long live the SUSA!

Nice Read

I have enjoyed the book series. Though the military equipment described needs work. Otherwise good read. I will miss Ben Raines and the Rebels when I finish the seies.

This is an interesting book. Not sure what Johnstone was thinking. In many ways it flies in the face of his established storyline. Claire Osterman, the president of the socialistic reorganized USA, is known to have a deep, almost psychotic, hate for Ben Raines. Yet, in this book, all of that history seems to be brushed under the rug in order to allow her to ask Ben for help dealing with a terrorist threat. As books go, this was a fun one in the series. Just a little confusing.

Very good adventure series. Basically the forming of a new United States after WW3 and the story of the man who leads and forms it. If you like men's adventure stories you will enjoy it. Recommended
