My Halloween treat? A one night stand with a HOT Dracula lookalike.Turns out it was more of a trick than a treat. My mystery man was my father's best friend...And now the secret daddy to five-year-old twins! Yikes!Six years later, my blast from the past decides to come looking for his daughters. Jeremy Steele… you tricked me once. But I won’t let you trick me twice. Standalone holiday romance featuring two adorable ‘horror twins.’ Sizzling hot and sugary sweet, all you’ll need is a bowl of chocolate and a cool drink of your choice. Because this Halloween is going to be spooky hot!
I was looking for a nice little Halloween story and I like secret baby romances so I thought this might scratch the itch.
What I liked was the Haunted House attraction aspect of the house. It gave a fun element to the book.
But … I found the characters both to be quite juvenile. The age gap was too much and I knew that it would be going in but I went there anyway. Jeremy became more and more juvenile in his thoughts as the story went on imo and I just didn’t buy into any connection between the characters.
The smutty parts sometimes just seemed thrown in at random and I skipped through some of them because it was a little much.
Hard to believe that this captivating and emotional story was overpowered by all of those down, dirty and raw sex scenes. Now some authors do this because their story lacks substance and sex is used as a filler. That is not the case with HALLOWEEN HOTTIE. THIS IS AN AWESOME STORY THAT DESERVED 5 STARS NOT 3. I found my self wondering how much penicillin does it take to wipe out all of that sexual bacteria?????
What happened to Melissa Caldwell, at the hands of her horrible mother, was a criminal sin! How bad does a 17 year old girl's life have to be, for her to choose to leave her home; her clothes; her cell phone; her money; all of her personal belongings as well as food; heat; and electricity? To walk into an unknown existence, with all the danger that brings, in order to escape her mother's cruel, verbal and emotional abuse. And even worse her father sits right there and never comes to Melissa's defense or better yet, never shuts his evil wife down.
I stand in awe of Melissa's courage to escape and pursue some form of self-preservation. Luckily, she finds a savior, a job and a safe home. Unfortunately, her father's best friend runs into her, at her job and the story takes another crazy detour.
Halloween Hottie is the twenty-fifth book in the Forbidden Temptations series. A full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. A nicely written story with complex characters and a fascinating storyline that captures your attention and keeps you enthralled and turning the pages until the end. An age gap trope romance, opposite attracts story, Halloween romance, holiday story, dad's best friend romance, secret twins romance, unexpected pregnancy story, with emotional, emotional and verbal abuse, family issues, anger, drama, survival, passion, lies, lust, passion, mayhem, revelations, surprise, forgiveness, suspense, mystery, threat, fear, second chance, billionaire romance, taboo, forbidden romance, steam, single mother story, sickness, and love. This is Melissa and Jeremy, the story is told from a dual point of view. Melissa has had a hard life growing up under the Caldwell roof with her very abusive mother who constantly verbally, emotionally and mentally abuses her on daily about her body or whatever comes to her head. She feels alone with no one to come to her aid as her dad is never in the home to even offer her some type of assistance against the daily attacks. At seventeen years old she finally muster up the courage to end the vicious abuse by running away. However, being on the road is not an easy task as she goes many nights without food or shelter. After months of starving and without shelter in the harsh element, she came across a big mansion. The way how it looks on the outside it seems as if no one lives there, with that in mind she thought that she could seek some shelter inside and see if she can scurrying around inside to locate some food. However, it was not an abandon home and the owner of the home was actually inside. He was a very nice older man name Gordon Blaine. He thought that she was actually a patron who came for one of his tour at horror house. He runs a tour open to the public. Gordon offers her free room on board, food and a job offer to help with Blaine's House of Horror. After a while Melissa is settled into the mansion and helped Gordon revamped the place into a show stopper. She was at work one night when she noticed her dad's best friend and some of his friends came into horror house. He was dressed as Dracula for one of the tours. Jeremy's business associate and his family wanted to visit haunted houses around the country and he had heard about Blaine's House of Horrors. Image his surprise and shock when he sees his best friend missing daughter at the horror house. He knew that she had been missing for a while and that her family was unable to locate her. He was even more surprised to see how she had matured and developed into a shunning and beautiful young woman with curves in all the right places. The two talked and he tried to get her to go back home to her family or at least call them. But she wasn't having none of that. She knew what she had endured and escaped from and has no desire to go back there or see them, plus she was no longer an underage teenager. She begged him not to tell them that he had seen her because she didn't want the drama that they would bring to her new life. She was now living a wonderful life with someone who was loving and caring and shows her the love of a parent. After he could not convince her the two ended up together in a passion filled night where he took her virginity. But he leaves her with an unexpected parting gift of himself where they will be forever tied together because of the lives that they had created. When she found out that she was pregnant she didn't tried reaching out to him, as they had both agreed that it wouldn't happen again and they would go on with their separate way. Jeremy didn't want her to call him because he was worried about the repercussion of his action when his friend found out that he had been intimate with his daughter. Therefore, Melissa had resigned to raise her children by herself as a single mother after all she was making good money and as stability. Fast years she has her two twin daughters and as settled into motherhood. Six years later after their encounter they ran into each other. He found out that he had fathered their children and was upset and was nasty towards her for not calling him to let him know that he was a dad. He seems to forget that he told her not to call him and that they should go on with their lives. She needed him because of girls was sick, although he was a butt towards her in the beginning he stepped up and help. However, he committed the worst carnal sin and did the absolute thing that she begged him not to. He contacted her despicable parents and they brought their toxicity and drama with them. However, with time away Melissa as now developed a backbone in dealing with her parents and set them straight. She and Jeremy eventually worked out their differences and became a family and got their HEA.

The FMC was a complete doormat. She would try to be strong but then let everyone walk all over her. She gave in EVERY SINGLE TIME, no matter how badly these people hurt her. And I can’t believe she let the MMC and her parents stay in her house after the way they treated her. COMPLETE AND UTTER DOORMAT!!!
And don’t get me started on the MMC. He’s a total jerk who couldn’t make up his mind throughout the whole book. The back and forth he was doing was giving me whiplash. One minute he understands why she didn’t tell him about the twins and takes some responsibility for it, but then he’s pissed because she didn’t tell him and now wants to get even. He loves her one minute and the next threatening to sick lawyers on her and calling her parents. He knows he’s being mean to her and yet fakes a girlfriend to hurt her even more.
But the worst parts in all this… for the 6yrs they were separated…he was sleeping around and dating a bunch of women while she stayed celibate. Hell, he even had a girlfriend (who was there) when the FMC accidentally bumped into him. But don’t worry, she’s dated throughout the years but wasn’t interested in doing anything more with those guys *rolls eyes*. Oh, and she was a virgin when her and the H first slept together, so she’s only been with him and no one else. Isn’t that great??
After the MMC (who at this point realized how awful the FMC mother truly was and regrets calling her parents) offers them to stay at the FMC house. And her, being the upstanding doormat that she is…agreed. I was already skimming at this point but after reading that, I was done. I honestly don’t care how this book ends or if we ever get a grovel scene because I’m soo done with this book.
So ya, as you can tell from my rant above, this book was definitely not for me.

Halloween Hottie was a quick read with lots of Halloween happenings at any time of year. Melissa runs away from home and her dysfunctional family and more abusive mother and unexpectedly her path crosses with her father's best friend, Jeremy. She's only in her teens and he's much older and they go their separate ways after their one night stand when they give in to their attraction. Six years later when their paths cross again he's in for a major surprise. The story is told in alternating chapters by each of them.
Blaine's House of Horror is run by an older gentleman, Gordon, who takes Melissa under his wing, giving her a home, a job, food and friendship when she stumbles upon his house in the middle of nowhere in Maine, after thinking she would be a paying customer. She helps make the business more profitable by adding attractions over time and bringing his dreams to fruition. The house is central to the storyline along with some of its macabre attractions.
Jeremy and Melissa's paths cross unexpectedly, this time in New Orleans, where his business is based and she's on a buying trip for the haunted house. Jeremy purposefully wants to reunite her with her family, thinking he knows better than she does and when he does, it doesn't go as he planned and boy is he sorry. Will Melissa ever be able to forgive him and will their attraction or steamy moments wane? Will her parents for him keeping a secret for so long? The book has many stories being told that are connected in unexpected ways and has a good flow. The twins were a cute addition and were not what I was expecting. There is closure with the epilogue and most of the loose ends are tied up. There is a happily ever after or two that are wonderfully depicted.

So this story was entertaining enough for me to keep reading, but isn’t going to go down as one that I would necessarily say I really liked or would highly recommend. I felt the writing in this story, particularly some of the steamier scenes, was overly clinically detailed. Some of the terminologies used weren’t exactly the kind that kept me in the moment as intended. Plus, if I’m completely honest, I felt like the relationship between the two main characters felt kind of surface level. I don’t really think they spent more than a couple of days together over the course of the entire book until we got to the end, and most of that time was spent hooking up. Most of the talking they did seem to be either about the secrets that were being kept or it was generic kind of things. Most of what I knew about them was what they thought, not what they said to each other. We were led as the readers to believe that they had this intense, physical attraction, and maybe that’s true, but it just kind of felt like that was all they had. And it wasn’t enough to explain them ending up together. Sure, they had twins, but why were they suddenly in love? I’ve been on a really big secret baby kick lately and I’ve also read quite a few stories where the leading lady falls in love with her dad‘s best friend or her best friend’s dad, or her ex’s dad. And of all those types of books that I’ve read lately this one just felt like the characters had the least actual connection with each other outside of the physical. But I also won’t judge an author by one book. And again, the story was entertaining enough to finish. The twins were cute. The connection the leading lady had with her found family was sweet. And there were other things here and there that made it likeable. So I will be giving another story by this author a try.
Halloween Hottie follows Melissa Caldwell a runaway and Jeremy Steele her father's best friend.
Melissa Caldwell ran away at seventeen from a verbal and emotionally abusive mother and an absentee father. After months of being homeless and hungry she finds herself at what looks like an abandoned mansion hoping to find somewhere to sleep. What she finds instead is an man named Gordon Blaine who thought she was there for his tour . He eventually offers her food, shelter and a job if she'll help him with his business Blaine's House of Horrors. Months later she's settled in and feels at home.
Jeremy Steele agreed to take his Japanese colleague and his family on a tour of America. His friends son wanted to see haunted house so they ended up at Blaine's House of Horrors. What he never expected was seeing his best friend's missing daughter. They end up have a night of passion only to agree to never see each other again. What neither one realized was he left her with an unexpected gift. Now 6 years later they run into each other and their lives will be changed forever.
I was confused by Jeremy reaction when she eventually told him her secret. (especially since he said they'd never see each other again before he went back to his life) but now he's angry and calls her all sorts of things threating to call lawyers and everything but then tells her he loves her and trys to have sex with her only to try to hurt her in the next breath. WTH! Plus he does the one thing she begged him not to do.... he calls her parents who are awful people to put it mildly. I must say I really despised him most of time then he finally redeemed himself.

At 17 Melissa ran away from home. She couldn’t take the evil, spiteful excuse for a mother or the absentee father who never was around or when he was didn’t stop her mothers harsh, abusive treatment. She ends up at a horror house in Maine, she thought was abandoned and met Gordon, the owner of Blaine’s House of Horrors. He sees instantly she homeless and offers her room, board, meal sand $100 a week to be his caretaker. The two grow close and she feels she finally found a home she is wanted in. Melissa’s life changes instantly a year later when Jeremy, her fathers best friend walks in with his business associate and his family. Jeramy can’t believe he’s seeing Melissa and more that he’s incredibly attracted to her. She agrees to go to dinner with him to convince him not to tell her father where she is, and because the attraction is mutual. They end up spending the night together but when he tells her he wants to tell her father he found her but is quilts for sleeping with her she tells him to leave and his guilt has him agreeing. 6 years later he is shocked to run into her in New Orleans and gets a bigger shock when she tells him he’s a father of twins and she telling him because the oldest daughter was rushed to the hospital. He is ticked and reacts poorly and does the unspeakable by calling her father. There is a lot of baggage these two need to unpack especially when her parents show up and her mother lashes out spewing all her hate filled antics. Eventually there’s a hea but not for everyone.

I didn't want it to end. I could read more and more about Melissa and Jeremy and their adorable twins Pat and Pam (the Horror Twins).
Melissa ran away from home. She had a horrible life with her over-bearing mother (who resented her) and her barely there father. Once she ran away at the age of 17, she thought her life was better off without them. The day she turned 18 she felt even better about her life. Having a job with Gordon and his House of Horrors was like a real family for her. And he was the father she never really had.
Jeremy is Brian's (Melissa's father) oldest friend. Brian asks him to help locate Melissa for him because he is lost without her. Yes, he misses her and wishes she would come back home. Jeremy takes a trip to Maine, and he bumps into a gorgeous woman at the House of Horrors. Right away he knows who she is - Melissa. He's so attracted to her that it kills him. She's his best friend's daughter.
Their little tryst was steamy - like off the charts. Jeremy is a man on a mission. Except when he falls asleep and she sneaks away. Walking the entire way home, never leaving him a note. Jeremy calls her and agrees to not tell her father he saw her. She's almost hurt that he refuses to fight for her, though. Especially because she finds out later that she has a little surprise coming (or really 2).
The Halloween theme is pitch-perfect. The family drama really tugs at your heartstrings. And Melissa finding a real family makes the story so worth it!.

Her Life Changing Decisions - Melissa couldn’t believe her luck when decision to ask for help at the haunted house will be the catalyst to turn her life around. Jeremy never expected to run into his best friend’s missing daughter whilst taking his business partner and his family on a tour around the country. However, his decision to try and convince her to go home, led to them to engaging in one night of mind blowing pleasures.
What neither one of them realised at the time was that their decision that night would lead to life changing consequences, which Melissa kept secret from Jeremy for years. However, fate brought Jeremy back into her life again when she really needed him and even though he was upset she had kept the secret, he immediately went to help her. Unfortunately, Jeremy made the mistake of contacting her parents, which led to them creating chaos on their arrival.
Luckily, Melissa had finally gained the confidence to stand up for herself over the years, which helped her deal with her parents. The time Jeremy and Melissa spent together made them realise they wanted to be with each other and finally worked together to have a wonderful life. This is a fantastic age gap romance story, filled with lots of drama, amazing chemistry and a wonderful happy ending. I really enjoyed reading this story and would be very happy to recommend it.

Great story. I really liked this book which was emotional from the start with Melissa having no option at 17yr but to leave home because of her vindictive mother & occasionally there father. After living on the streets for so long when she came across House of Horrors she met Gordon Blaine a man who saved her life, giving her a somewhere to live, a job & became a father figure to her. Just as everything in her ife was perfect a face from the past could threaten it when her dad's friend Jeremy turned up at House of Horrors. Jeremy recognised Melissa who knew she had ran away from home months before & that her Dad was looking for her but ended up seeing them have one passionate night ending with him telling her to call her dad. Next time they see each other is a shock but more to do with fact that she has been hiding her daughter's from him. It is only when one becomes sick that she tells Jeremy about them. We see a new side to Jeremy & how he reacts about being deceived to all these years he could have been with his daughters & takes drastic action which leads to some heartbreaking times & secrets being told threatening Melissa & her daughter's lives together. I loved a lot of the characters expect her parents & a couple of times I didn't like Jeremy either.
Once you start reading this you won't want to stop.

Wowsa this book was absolutely fantastic and will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and get you in the mood for Halloween and Haunted houses. Best friends daughter and older man younger woman taboo. Melissa runs away from home after an argument with her mother but with her dad never home she's left all alone. Now she is living in a haunted house and given a good new life and grows up with someone who truly cares about her,but when her dad's best friend shows up at the haunted house can she convince him not to tell him where she's been all these years? Age Gap Romance with a Halloween twist between Jeremy Slate and his friend’s 18 year old daughter. She’s runaway from home after years of emotional abuse from her mother, and avoidance from her father. Melissa finds refuge in a House of Horrors and patience, comfort and respect from the old man who owns it. When she recognizes Jeremy as her father’s friend in a chance meeting, the two are drawn to each other that leads to a night of abandon. She convinces him to leave and never tell her father of their tryst. Six years later, another chance encounter between Melissa and Jeremy and they are back in each other’s arms. When she is forced to confess secrets she has kept for six years, things begin to unravel, and the sweet life Melissa has known falls apart before she can allow Jeremy to prove himself. It was a rather unusual storyline with the huge age gap, and fun and horrors of Halloween. While I enjoyed the read, I found the epilogue and HEA was a bit over the top, but then when you realize love conquers all, anything is possible.
Melissa Caldwell is 17 and homeless. She ran away from home 5 months ago. She gets a job cleaning an old mansion for Gordon Blaine. He runs a “house of horrors”.
Jeremy Steele has been best friends with Brian Caldwell since they were young boys. He now lives in New Orleans. From talking to Brian, he knows his friend’s daughter Melissa ran away. Jeremy goes to Toyko for business and visits his friend Kenshin. He agrees to escort Kenshin and his family on a road trip in America. Kenshin’s son is obsessed with horror movies.
At this point, Melissa is almost 19 years old and has helped Gordon make the house even better.
What happens when Jeremy brings Kenshin and his family to Gordon’s house of horrors and he sees Melissa? What happens when they bump into each other 6 years later in New Orleans?
Complicated story and characters. Kept me entertained and on my toes.

The story was kind of chaotic…like the MCs at angry with one another but from one sentence to the very next they are jumping each other’s bones and saying I love you. It felt nonsensical.
Additionally, Melissa went from inexperienced virgin to multi-orgasmic domineering sex kitten. He’s the only guy she’s ever been with but she instinctively knows how to give mind blowing head and is ready and willing to do every sexual act/position in existence. And 40 something dude has the stamina of a 19 year old out of nowhere. Then…THEN…add insult to injury, Jeremy says in like the very first chapter he didn’t want a wife or kids but he suddenly is ready to drop everything for kids he didn’t know he had and was ready to fight for full time custody, no, he wants a family, but no, wait, he’s too angry with her so let me call her parents even though she’s a grown ass adult.
3.5 this book was good but felt a little rushed and bit confusing. But overall good. Melissa runs away from her home at age 17 to come to a house of horror in Maine the housekeeper takes her in and offers a job to maintain the house and helps Gordon build his business house of horror tours. Jeremy is a older gentleman that is best friends with Melissa dad and after 1 yr of her disappearance he shows up for a tour and sees her and she knows who he is and she freaks out bit only to go on a date with him and one thing leads to another one night stand turned to her with his twins 5 yrs later they run into each other again and she sleeps with him again but still keeps the secret like why??? Thing happens and that's when everything comes out. It just felt rushed and somewhat jumbled but ok fast read.
Melissa ran away from home at seventeen, her mother was horrible to her and dad was never there. She ends up in Maine, gets a job with Gordon and his house of horrors, he became her first real family.
Jeremy is best friends with Brian, Melissa's father, he is asked to help find her. Jeremy shows up to the house one day and is surprised that Melissa is there. He is also attracted to her, takes her out, they spend the night together and she leaves before he wakes.
They do not see each other for a few years, it is happenstance they see each other in New Orleans. When one of the twins is taken to the hospital she has to tell him he is a father. The pair have a lot of chemistry but have a lot to work thru.

Melissa runs away, her mother is rude and overbearing and her dad, she feels isn’t present. She meets an older man Gordon, who takes pity and helps her and moves her into his ‘haunted house’. Is it wasn’t for him, she would have never survived.
A few years later Jeremy is showing his Japanese colleague (and family) around and bumps into Melissa. They both kinda know each other as he is best friends with her dad. She begs him not to tell her parents where she is. They end up spending the night together, he left, feels guilt and stops talking to her dad.
When they reconnect years later, it turns out she has twin daughters, they are his. He is mad, acts like a child, she isn’t much better. He calls her dad and drops the bombshell. They fight and all is well again
A fun Halloween romance featuring a haunted house and terror twins. A good steamy storyline that features an age gap romance with dad’s best friend.
Melissa runs away from home at seventeen due to neglect and size shaming by her mother. She finds herself welcomed into a haunted house by Gordon, who offers her a job and a place to stay.
She meets Jeremy, her dad’s best friend again where she enjoys a night in his company.
Fast forward years later when one of her daughter’s becomes ill. She contacts Jeremy to let him know about the girls. This kicks off a bit of drama but the pair still can’t keep their hands to themselves.
A good romance that is good for body positivity.

Melissa ran away from home at the age of seventeen. After being on the street for five months and not knowing where her next meal was coming from she ended up at Blaine's House of Horrors. Jeremy, her father's best friend ends up on a tour of the House over a year later. Sofia T. Summers does it again! She gives us a story and characters that keep us interested to the last page. I especially enjoyed the quirkiness of the House of Horrors. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading it.

I have to say this wasn't for me. The "feelingd" the main characters had for each other gave me a bit of whiplash. And names not matching three me for a loop the driver told the main make character his name was Dustin then he was calling him Tony not sure if I missed something or what. And then she all sudden decides after telling her parent to leave that they are staying in her house. I just couldn't read it anymore. Felt like the main characters were using sex to solve problems. This is just my opinion. I'm sure others will enjoy the book. I couldn't finish the book hopefully the main characters find their happy ever after
Absolutely fabulous book which I totally loved and would heartily recommend hoping others enjoy it as well. Running away from home at 17 wasn't really what Melissa wanted but it was what she felt she had to. Being found by her father's best friend when she was settled seemed horrible till attraction got the better of them and they had a torrid one night stand resulting in twin girls. What happens when they meet six years later and she tells him because one is sick and in hospital. Can these two people overcome the obstacles that they must face and be together?
After running away, Melissa finds herself starting a new life and working at Blaine’s House of Horror. One day she runs into her father’s best friend, Jeremy. They share a night of passion and never see each other again until 6 years later. They start to rekindle what they had while Melissa is hiding a big secret from him.
There were a few inconsistencies and cringey scenes but overall I still really enjoyed the plot and the spice :).

So, I don't usually go for the daddy best friends / age gap romances but somehow Summers always sucks me in with great writing and storylines. I loved this one-night stand, oops dad's besties and oops twin baby's story. I loved that it's a Halloween themed since - duh, it's that time of year. Fun, sweet and steamy - I really enjoyed the journey of Melissa and Jeremy. Well written, this book gave me all the feels from a tragic upbringing to a HEA and all the drama inbetween!

Jeremy was her dads best friend, Melissa was a run away teen turned adult in the blink of an eye. With a chance meeting at a haunted house attraction Jeremy stumbled onto a now grown up version of the girl he knew and he walked away. Melissa stumbled upon Gordon’s haunted house attraction and was fortunate to find the family she never had growing up. Years later they run into each other again only this time he’s not willing to walk away from her or their children. Timid, first love with an older man.
