Ms. Louise played a character involved in many of my childhood memories, so I was interested in reading her memoir. It's not a full account of her life, but only a snippet of memories from her childhood in a home for children. It gives vague accounts of neglect and loneliness from the perspective of an innocent young girl with absent parents. It's not really a book or even a short story--it's an extremely quick and short read (less than 30 minutes).

If young girls only knew

The book had a lot of good subject matter concerning parenting. I applaud people who wait until maturity to even think about having children. Children are very special and their childhood years are precious and should be the best years of their lives.

Tina Louise recalls a bit of her childhood, highlighting the trauma innocent children can endure. In the Afterword, she notes that she was able to use her precarious life as an artist to heal and grow. A quick, sad read.
