Each and every October he gets stuck into the thirty-one days of horror challenge - flexing his analytic skills for an intensive thirty-one-day horror fest. Frustratingly, Devon’s past October blog series often went quietly, with a whimper. In the year 2019, he decided to make some noise and do the unexpected.
Devon’s plan to spend thirty-one days within a well-trodden horror movie a cabin in the woods would be his “magnum opus” - a memorable experiment in terror, spending thirty-one days on his own in a cabin, hidden deep in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Thirty-one days in absolute isolation. He would take thirty-one carefully selected horror films that delved to the core of torment and terror. Every morning he planned to drop a film blog, and he would broadcast live online every night at 11:11 p.m.
On the outside looking in, Devon’s only friend, Michael, is left to keep Devon’s project together. Michael would gather a select bunch of students (all up-and-coming film analysts) who would observe Devon from day one, right up until Halloween night when the experiment would meet its end. Michael and the students would record their reactions, and their film theory discussions, and hopefully piece together a complete picture of Devon’s experience.
Michael knew that Devon wasn’t going to make this easy for himself or for everybody involved. As the days go by, things get a little out of hand. Perhaps Devon bit off more than he could chew. But it all comes down to getting through the month.
In this instance, the Devon Fletcher Experiment was meant to be the ultimate game changer. What happened in that month of October in the year 2019 was destined to be much more terrifying than anybody could have imagined.
