“What am I going to do with you, little princeling?”
Remi had a few X-rated ideas.“I don’t know what the future holds,” Jeremiah whispered against his skin. “But I know that I won’t just die for you, Remington. I will live for you, and I will fight for you.
It was like a string was tied between their chests, and the more time they spent in close proximity, breathing the same air, touching each other’s skin, the tighter the string became, reeling them closer together. It was the strangest sensation.
“Does this feel bad to you?” Jeremiah growled. “You feel like perfection.” “Then stop thinking so godsdamned much and just touch me. Just be here in this moment,” Remi pleaded, digging his fingers into the back of Jeremiah’s head. “Just be here with me.”
Soft lips brushed against his own, and then Jeremiah’s voice was in his ear, rougher and deeper than usual, the hand on the side of his neck sliding over to cover his throat. “Be a good little prince and come for me.”
“People fall for their bodyguards all the time, but it’s not real. It’s just the circumstances and adrenaline.” “That’s not what this is,” Remi said quietly, holding him so gently Jeremiah’s eyes were burning for some fucking reason. “You don’t just make me feel safe. I can’t… Gods, I can’t breathe when you’re not near me. My whole body aches for you. The only time I feel whole is when I’m in your arms.”
“Forget who I am,” Remi said fiercely, but his touch stayed soft and soothing. “When I’m with you, I’m not the future king. I’m not too human or not enough Siren. I’m just… me. Remi. Just—” “Mine.” Remi shuddered in his arms. “Just yours,” he exhaled.
He wasn’t sure if he should inform his sweet little prince that he’d do just about anything for him. Take a bullet. Kill a rival. Destroy an empire. There was no limit to his and his hound’s devotion.
“Whatever you need to do, you can. I don’t… I don’t think there’s a single thing I wouldn’t let you do.”
