Growing up in New York City, I used to walk the hot pavements in the melting heat of the long summers, and dream. Uptown to downtown, eastside to the westside, and underground to catch a subway racing out into the boroughs.
During my wanderings, my magic pencil spun out fantasies full of romance, with first meetings, heartbreaks, and reunions. Sometimes my boy crush (unrequited, of course) starred as the hero.
I grew up, and after a stint in art school, became a lawyer ‘cuz a woman’s got to make a living. I came from parents who fled to France as refugees, and as an attorney, I dedicated my work to helping survivors of trauma and persecution.
I believe in them. In their grit, in their determination to hold on, to pull through and, somehow, someway, to keep themselves intact, body and soul.
Perhaps that is why I am drawn to writing stories of men and women who live through heart-rending pain, desperate yearnings and, ultimately, reach a place of redemption.
For a long time, I fought the urge to veer off the expected, safe path until I couldn’t go on unless I took a chance and made a change. I began to write, stopped, and began again. Finally, I gave in and here I am.

December 6, 2023DNF @ 16% - this is the second heroine in this series where she’s slavering over a dick and opening her legs for a man who has treated her like warmed over garbage. This only works for me if the H TAKES… not fake takes. Actually takes. Otherwise we’re just left with an h with no self respect. It’s major cringe. If the hero wants consent he should have to work for it, if he’s wronged her. 🤷🏼♀️ the whole vibe here gives way too much second hand embarrassment.

This book was very different from the first book in the series, and it can be read as a standalone, so no worries if you haven't read UNFORGIVABLE yet. That one is a High School Bully Romance, while this one is a Forced Arraigned Marriage Romance, but they are both still in High School and are friends with the couple in the previous book, so there is some overlap.
Crina cannot figure out why her parents are suddenly forcing her to marry Marku. The two were best friends when they were younger, but the last three years have all been about Crina staying as far away as she possibly can from Marku, even if it has been hard at times because of their friends. Crina doesn't want to be in the same room as the guy, let alone be married to him, but for some reason, her father is following her mother's insistence.

The dialogue in this was PAINFUL. Like so bad I couldn’t continue. Was she trying to be funny? Or just witty? Whatever the aim, it came across as childish and cringy.

I voluntarily reviewed "UNREGRETTABLE"
WOW!!! This story starts off with much anger, frustration, anger, deceit, secrets, frustration, angst
danger, rivals, tragedy, arranged marriage, steam, emotional turmoil, revenge, twists that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Crina is blindsided by her parents when they tell she has to marry Marku in two days with no real explanation as why the hurry, she hates him he did something unforgivable up her 4yrs ago she hasn't forgotten.
Marku knows he messed up with Crina he'd hurt her years ago & never apologized to her now their suppose go marry its a secret to be kept quiet for jiw be ayse she's in danger, she hates him & refuses to marry him but she doesn't have a choice.
I definitely recommend to get this interesting, intriguing, intense, emotional rollercoaster ride that Marku & Crina take you on, can these two get a HEA, want to know what being kept secret, who's after Crina, why the hurried wedding it's a must read to see how things turn out.

Wow so much anger and hurt and resentment from the beginning of this book .
Crina was angry and hurt when her mother dropped the news that she would be married to a man she hated . A man she loved but, also a man who broke her several years ago.
He humiliated her and punished her one afternoon. And all heck broke loose and she was running again for safety. How could Marku do that to her ? She was left feeling bitter , angry and alone . She felt like her parents were against her , How could they possibly agree to this farce ? .
But soon the truth comes out and all is not what it seems. And once again Crina is left wondering what kind of hell she's walked into ..
This is a young high school Mafia book that I found I couldn't put down and look forward to reading more in this series . So many twists and turns throughout this story, truths will be revealed and lives will be shattered.
But somehow throughout it all marku and Crin come out a little battle weary but one hundred percent together and committed to each other.

Delectably forbidden steals the show! She's from one clan, he's from another ... but danger and parental interference have them meeting at the alter in no time. I like the premise of this book because there are familiar faces from the Lupu Chronicles series floating in and out regularly, but this series isn't the best work of this author by far. There seems to be a timeline issue where this is supposedly book two, yet the things that happened in book one don't appear to have happened in many instances. Mass confusion and a seeming pull between young adult, bully and mafia not aligning into a strong storyline in any of the above are disappointing. I really enjoyed her MC series and even her mafia series, but this younger generation just isn't cutting it for me personally. Not a bad story, just not cohesive enough to carry itself. The cast is interesting and there is interest in the context, just weakness in development that shows through.

Dark mafia romance , forced arranged marriage. Unregrettable is Marku and Crina’s journey and man was it a emotional rollercoaster that just plays on all your emotions. No seriously !!! One minute I was just completely speechless, the next I found myself yelling outta pure frustration. There were times my heart felt like it was beating so fast and other it was breaking . Can two people who are from opposite clans with bad blood between them find a way to be together, can they get back to the friendship they once had maybe just maybe find love together? Dark , raw , gritty and extremely emotional, twists and turns, suspense and intrigue, forbidden romance, arranged marriage, tragedy, passion, obstacles, secrets , revenge, revelations , a morally gray and possessive hero , a dirty talking alpha and a kick@ss. heroine . As per usual MONIQUE MOREAU has once again exceeded all my expectations and delivered another Home-run right outta the ballpark

Overall, this is one storyline that gives as good as it gets filled with angst, betrayal and lies that will have any reader biting one’s nails as the pages turn. If you enjoy mafia and arranged marriage romance, then this is one to add to your shelf.

An excellent read. I absolutely loved Marku and Crina’s story ❤️❤️❤️ He hurt her years ago and confused by his betrayal she holds a grudge not forgiving him. Forced into marriage with him she lets him know her hatred towards him. He has never stopped loving her and faced with an enemy set to hurt her he vows to protect her. Facing danger together, loss together they let their true feeling come to light and share in an unforgettable love. I was thoroughly entertained whilst reading this novel and 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎

I loved Crina and Marku's story. There is just something about a forced arranged marriage that just does it for me. This was the first book by Monique that I have read and I loved it. I need to go back and read the first book of the series, and I look forward to reading more books from this world. Highly recommend if you like new adult, forced arranged marriage, and possessive males who will do anything to show the FMC that they will do anything for them.

Monique Moreau's Romanian Mafie novels are a different shade of dark. In this series, the Hero and heroine are both 18 at the beginning of the book, when Crina is forced by her parents to marry Marku, her sworn enemy, in secret. From there, the angst and twists and turns just multiply, but in the end there is a happily ever after. Crina and Marku are beautifully written, and the book is a good read. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the Empire Academy series.

Then they are forced into a secret wedding, and Crina can’t figure out why. She’s determined to know why! Then Crina finds out she is not her father’s daughter. She’s being watched, but by who?
The story unfolds as it should, and while that is all unfolding, Crina and Marku get closer. This story has it all! Anger, lust, want, love, hate, despair, sadness! Well worth the read!

Forbidden is so freaking sexy! Crina’s anger bled through these pages when the ultimate bombshell is dropped that she has to marry Marku. This man did her so freaking dirty and she never forgot or forgave but I’ll tell you now not everything is as it seems. Crina couldn’t understand why Marku would agree to marry her they hate each other or do they?? I really do love these two and I love the strength in Crina I actually love the high school mafia setting and all the characters this was a book I absolutely couldn’t put it down!

Unregrettable is Marku and Crina's story. It's an "unregrettable", forced marriage love story
between clans that'll keep you biting your nails in anticipation. There's already bad blood between these characters so that in itself leaves readers wondering if they'll work together or not. I enjoy this author and everything she writes and Unregrettable is no exception.

The second book in this series does not disappoint! Maku and Crina grew up together yet years ago had a very hurtful falling out. Now their families are requiring them to marry. Crina is still incredibly hurt by their past. As time passes and she begins to understand Maku a little better she sees what really happened. Beautiful, emotional story full if action and intrigue and steam!

4.5 stars. Crina and Marku have a history and because of something that happened in the past there is bad blood between now. Trouble is now they are to be married and she is not in the forgiven mood. There is a some action and some steam but there is also some drama. Can right his wrong? I felt for her when she found out about her father.
