The enemies stronger. All that stands between her and the destruction of everything she holds dear is a wounded SEAL, his gallant team, and their steadfast faith.Redemption Where ranches run forever, granite peaks touch the sky, and wounded hearts seek home. Haunted by their pasts and hunted by the shadowy international cabal who betrayed them, the former black ops soldiers of Black-out Squadron try to rebuild their shattered faith and search out redemption…by seeking justice for folks who can't fight their own battles.
So much potential in this author's books. But they are so overcome with grammatical errors, timeline errors, detail errors; such as is a helicopter black or is a helicopter dark blue? That fact changed within four pages of itself. At one point we were seeing Jane's perspective and the author used the wrong name when refering to characters. She said, from a Jane's perspective, "If she was going to ask Jane about the Consortium, now was the time." It should have been if she was going to ask Peg.
I do like her descriptions of locations and feelings. I love the fact that they're clean Christian romances with an unapologetic Christian message. However, I don't agree with all her theology. At one point she says, "God will not give us more than we can handle". That is not a biblical fact. As a matter of fact if you read the book of Job I think it's pretty clear that God will strip us of everything if necessary. I'm not sure what verses she's referring to when she makes that statement.
I would like to know more of the characters backstories. She spends a lot of time on current angst without a lot of character development yet at the same time makes me curious enough about all the characters that I do want to read their stories.
Overall worth the read but be prepared for editing errors. It makes me sad because I think it is a poor reflection of Christ to make so many errors that should be a simple fix.
Former Black Ops SEAL Bridger North once again saves the life of Jane Reilly, sister of his missing teammate, Jason Reilly. It appears Jane’s ex-husband, Pete, conned her into to giving him money and in return he would give her custody of her stepson, Kellen. She has no idea he is setting her up to take the fall in his embezzlement scheme. It is only when FBI agents show up threatening to arrest her that she realizes her ex has done something wrong. Bridger and Tai show up to help Jane with the FBI and in the process Bridger is injured. Bridger and Tai realize something is off on the situation so Jane and Bridger go on the run. Who all is involved in Pete’s embezzlement scheme? Will Jane get custody of Kellen? What happens while they are on the run? Will Jane and Bridger finally get together?
False Sins is book two in the Redemption Creek Romantic Suspense series. It is a well written clean romantic suspense book with plenty of drama, action, twists and turns which will keep you reading until the end. I am looking forward to the next book which will tell the Tai Kaholo story and continue the search for Jason.
My review today is on the romantic suspense, False Sins. This is book two in the series Redemption Creek. I'm a big fan of Edie's and I'm always thrilled to get one of her books. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. I know you are going to love it.
In the last book Bridger North had to save Jane Reilly's life. It wasn't her fault, in this book Jane's ex is the problem. Not only must he save her but also her ex's child her ex is using against her. Her ex offers her his son for $30,000. She has no choice but to give him the money. Soon it's evident that there is much more to this situation.
Bridger North is an Ex-SEAL. He and his team have come to Redemption Creek at the request of Jane's brother who is a team member but is missing at this time. Bridger cares deeply for Jane and is willing to lay down his life for her. He is wounded. Can he and his team save Jane and the boy?
A horrific journey to stay out of the sights of the killers and find evidence to save Jane. God has a plan for these two an plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A plan for peace and not for destruction.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the Christian Romantic Suspense False Sins by Edie James, and this review was given freely. A story of fulfillment, family, and double-crosses with a cameo from Jason. This is primarily the beginning love story of Jane and Bridger but also the rescue of Kellen. A month after book one, former Navy SEAL Bridger North and his team are establishing a civilian ops group in Redemption Creek and the silent Bridger finally contacts Jane at the same time her con-artist ex-husband arrives unexpectedly to blackmail her and make her the target of some crooked FBI agents. Contains a bomb and some violence.
Great story that drew me straight in from the beginning. When Jane's ex-husband Pete arrives in Redemption Creek, he draws her into his own troubles without her knowing it. All Jane wants is custody of her stepson Kellen. Instead she, along with Bridger, is on the run. Can they find enough evidence to clear Jane's name and rescue Kellen? False Sins is well-written with plenty of danger and intrigue. I enjoyed continuing to get to know more about Bridger's teammates and am looking forward to the third installment in this series.
Edie James delivers another exceptional blockbuster suspense book yet again! Jane is bombarded with stumbling block after stumbling block. Luckily she has Redemption Inc and more precisely Bridger to help her! You have to fall in love with Kellens' enthusiasm and resilience. Will they overcome all the fear and odds against them? Will they find hope and more so a future filled with hope and love? You'll have to read it yourself because this book is a cannot-afford-to-miss book!
False Sins is another strong Christian Romance/Suspense story from Edie James. Though I liked the first book of this series better because it pulled me in from the first line, I enjoyed this book as well.
The blend of suspense, action, and romance in this clean, Christian Contemporary Fiction book is well done with believable characters and a solid plot.
I recommend False Sins and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
The storyline is good even though it has several plot holes, but the character development is very lacking. You never feel as if you know the characters other than in a general way.
The drama between the main characters is way too drawn out . I actually skipped an entire chapter and didn't feel I missed anything. I have read three of the four books in this series but I won't be reading the last one
This is another wonderful book full of action, danger and mystery with a side of romance. Bridger North and his team have decided to start up their new business helping those in need of their type of service in Redemption Creek. When Jane’s ex husband returns to town, she becomes a target of his underhanded dealings. Bridger and team step in to keep her safe and rescue the young boy she came to love when he was her step son.
For.individuals who have spent years working special.ops they sure can be very slack in situational awareness,in the first book as well this one .The MC has way too much emotion without control. I have 14 years expatience in the same line of work and guys who had a problem with anger and lack of control were a danger to any team they were on . Normally they were headed to mental health
Can you imagine being married to a liar and a thief? Bridger and Tai and the rest of the team are just amazing. They are outcasts in the community. But you know, when your helpful, kind, keep you word etc, you start fitting in. Then Jane had an opportunity to get her stepson back etc etc etc. Enjoy this book now on to the next one. I will go back an reread this one. Loved it.
Leave it to Jane to name the team. This is the second book in The Redemption Creek Series and can be read as a standalone but why not start the series from the beginning. This second novel does have suspense, plus a very unique plot with plenty of twists and turns. Read Bridger, Jane, and the team's story as they continue the search for their teammate and further redeem their lives by helping others.
WOW!! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's full of action, suspense, drama, and just enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. I loved it and can't wait for the next book in this series. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I’m always ready for a good hero story. Some disappoint. Some I don’t read past the first chapter. False Sins (Redemption Creek Romance Suspense Book 2) kept my interest. Good clean action with believable characters. Thank you Edie James! I will now go on to Book 3👍🤓
there were several instances that happened too abruptly to make sense (spoiler alert - how did the bomb get attached to Jane all of a sudden with no explanation as to how it happened?). Some of the scenes with the special ops group seems beyond credibility. However the novel was a good read. Recommended
Book one left me with a lot of questions so I went on to book two and fell in love with the characters in the story and also with the author. A lot of intensity, humor and a family bond that is made from having each other’s backs. You need to read these books to find out how fabulous they are. Now on to book three. I highly recommend reading them.
Bridger and Jane’s story is a great suspenseful tale. If you like a protective ex-special ops hero with regrets and a sweet divorced heroine with an ex out to destroy her then this is perfect for you. Plenty of action and tension to keep you reading. Another great story by Edie James.
This book has a great team of former military characters along with enjoyable side characters. There is a lot of mystery and some action with a clean romance and a Christian viewpoint. I really enjoyed this book.
This book had it all mystery, romance, murder, and suspense. It gripped me from the beginning to end. I love the characters and how they all have such faith.
I loved the characters and spiritual parts. At times I thought it was a little slow but still enjoyed the read. I think I probably should have read Book #1 before this one.
I liked it, it was a very good story. The overuse of expressions like “copy that” and “Roger that” did get to me after a while. I wished the author would choose other terms instead of constantly reusing the same ones. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story over all.
Nothing drives me more crazy than inconsistent facts. I.E. black helicopter vs. blue, only one page apart. Four people were named on a conference call, but fifth one was speaking. The author must have been tired during those few pages (I'm only halfway through).
An unexpected treat in this book was finding a character from another series (and author) pop up! I didn’t see that coming, which made the discovery all the sweeter.
