Deadly Storm is the latest installment in the Witch in the Woods series by Jenna St. James.
I LOVED this series. There is a REALLY bad storm hitting Enchanted Island. Everyone is taking cover. In the middle of the storm, there is a murder and Alex and Shayla are investigating with Needles out in the storm.
I really love this story and get so excited for every new installment. The characters, the story, the mystery and all the paranormal characters are so well written.
I can't believe this is the 22nd book in the series, as it just gets better and better.
I was curled up with hot chocolate as the descriptions were so realistic you could feel the snow and ice in the deadly storm.
Another great addition to a fantastic series. Each book gets better and better. Enchanted Island is preparing for the biggest snow/ice storm it’s seen in a long time. Jenna St. James really builds up the anticipation and you feel you’re part of the frantic preparation to get everyone safe and secure before the storm. Even the animals are rushing to safety with Black Forest King. But right in the middle of the storm, Shayla gets a nighttime call of a home invasion. Even though the dragons and fire witches are trying to keep up with clearing the roads, Shayla and the Sheriff must fight the dangerous blizzard to get to the frantic resident in time. Get your blankets and hot drinks ready. You can really feel the storm coming through this book. Plenty of suspects and misdirection and an ending I didn’t see coming. As always, Needles shines as a hero. Can’t wait for the next book and Valentine’s Day on Enchanted Island.
Personally, I love snow storms where every one is hunkered down and surviving on supplies stored and ways to keep warm. The island is hit with a nasty noreastern snow storm. Everyone is stocking up and bracing for the isolation that happens in big storms. Then a murder of a bee keeper, one who has special flowers and a spell to make a cure all honey winds up dead and her special flowers all gone and her bees dead. Can Shayla, Needles and the rest solve this murder despite the harrowing weather? Whelp, you are just going to have to read this page turner!
Fun , Needles makes me laugh love that character . great story perfect timing reading it while storming . now if I just had some of Serena baked goodies and stew I Vet set. Honestly this and the spin off ones I read been great stories love the characters and they are unique I read one author who has handful of spin off crossovers and it like the sane characters just change the name except for couple of her series. So I really appreciate the spin off are new fresh look at the world this great author has created
The length of the books seems to be getting shorter and shorter, and the villains are more like characters from Scooby Doo than real criminals... even in the end, it's all given away by the "bad guys" rather than any kind of deduction made by the detective team...
Couldn't even think of a name for "the flower"... didn't even come up with a reason why on sight of it they knew it was stolen from the forest... you didn't even describe it... that might have given you a few more pages... ultimately, the best bit was Emma's confused rambling about flour...
Wow, just wow! Jenna has done an amazing job with the next book in the series of A Witch In The Woods. A storm like no one remembers seeing in the history of Enchanted Island which is saying a lot considering how old some of the residents are. A murder has occurred, a long list of suspects and horrible weather to navigate. As always, the characters and plot are so well written, the storyline is fast moving and there is a shocking ending!
Visiting Enchanted Island is always a treat. However, Ms. St. James descriptive writing of the terrible snowstorm made me feel cold the whole time that I was reading. LOL! A great mystery with a few deft twists, suspects who all had motive, a snowstorm that made this one treacherous investigation and a very dramatic reveal that had me gripping my Kindle in fear for Alex and Shayla. Well done, Ms. St. James.
I enjoyed the last three books, how people that were not the so likeable, ended up as the murdered mystery. This one I was sadden that such a good person ended up murdered, but, such a great author, Jenna, made a lot of things make sense. Now, off to the next adventure.
Another visit to the island world I would so love to live in. Shayla, Alex and Needles are always knee deep in the mystery and a successful resolution achieved. The stories are, fun, endearing and just fun to read.
Alex works to keep the island safe when a winter storm rages. When Shayla is called because and intruder invades the home of a local honey maker, she and Alex find another murder to solve. The weather complicates the procedure and makes simple tasks dangerous.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
