In the Rakes of Rotten Row Series, the Marquess of Winterhope reigns as a master of horse racing, with his heart devoted solely to his stable of steeds. A proper gentleman in every sense, he navigates high society and intrigue with ease. He’s only failed to master on last necessity: Love.
When it finally thunders into his life, will he yield to its call or continue to outrun the temptations of the season?
Saddle up with our hero for a scintillating ride in this sultry Regency Romance!
Married to the same man for over 25 years, I am a mother to three children and two Miniature Wiener dogs.
After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, my husband and I got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything in 2008; our business, our home, even our car.
At this point, I put my B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender (Insert irony). Unwilling to give up on a professional life, I simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management.
And then the energy market dropped off.
And then my dog died.
I can only be grateful for this series of unfortunate events, for, with nothing to lose and completely demoralized, I sat down and began to write the romance novels which had until then, existed only my imagination. After publishing over twenty novels now, with one having been nominated for RWA’s Distinguished ™RITA Award in 2019, I am happy to tell you that I have finally found my place in life.
Thank you so much for being a part of my journey!

Annabelle Anders is one of the authors on my "favorite authors" list. I find her to be a really good author with really good writing. She has great stories and good sex. I’ve read 47 of her books and have been reading her since 2018.
This has been a great series. I’ve enjoyed all the books. I think this one is my favorite so far but there are still 2 more in the series yet. I loved Benjamin and Clementine. I loved how natural they were with each. Obviously, in her case, not expecting anything so she was able to be herself which is always the best outcome. I loved their chemistry. The part with the bananas was hilarious. Just a great read.
Benjamin, The Marquis of Winterhope reigns as a master of horse racing, with his heart devoted solely to his stable & he hopes his new racetrack will be a success & holds a house party before the inaugural meeting. A proper gentleman in every sense, he navigates high society and intrigue with ease. He’s also decided it’s time he married & has set his eye on Lady Amelia Crowley, daughter of Marquis of Foxbourne. Clementine Buckingham is the Foxbourne’s orphaned niece who was turned out of her home when her father died, she made her way to the Foxbourne’s & is now an unpaid companion to Amelia. This is the fourth book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own there is an ongoing plot throughout the series. I loved both Ben & Clem from their less than auspicious first encounter. I loved their journey to a HEA, it wasn’t easy but it made for an engrossing read. Both were horse mad & they soon found that they were compatible in far more ways than this. The secondary characters were also well portrayed some I really liked & others I disliked. I particularly liked Amelia & look forward to her story, I just hope her horrid parents get their comeuppance! It was a fun, entertaining romance & the banana scene was hilarious! The epilogue had me shedding a tear. As usual the author delivers in spades My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I will freely admit that class difference stories aren’t really my favorite, so when I realized the heroine of this book was a companion, I had my doubts about the book. This is the part where I admit that I was wrong to have said doubts. Annabelle Anders has written the most gorgeous love story. The way Benjamin and Clementine love one another is so pure and selfless, and watching them show up for one another filled my heart to bursting. Their intimacy and the way they let their guards down when they were together was absolutely beautiful to me. In addition to having a wonderful love story, this book had a touch of humor and a lovely opportunity to revisit some of the characters in earlier books in the series. This is book four in the series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
I received an ARC of this title from the author. All opinions are my own.
Benjamin St. Lancaster, Marquess of Winterhope, is a master of horse racing and an extremely, proper gentleman, and Clementine Buckingham, "Clem", is spirited lady who grew up with horses and loves riding and racing. When their paths cross, sparks fly and passion ignites, but they also face challenges and dangers from their enemies and their own secrets. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles and find their happily ever after?
This book is a delightful and engaging read, with well-developed characters, witty dialogue, and a fast-paced plot. The author does a great job of creating a vivid and authentic historical setting, as well as incorporating some interesting facts and details about horse racing and the Regency era. The romance between Winterhope and Clementine is sweet and steamy, with plenty of chemistry and tension. They are both likable and relatable, with their own flaws and strengths. The secondary characters are also entertaining and add to the humor and drama of the story. Fans of the series will enjoy catching up with the previous couples and meeting new ones, while new readers can easily follow along without feeling lost. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Rakes of Rotten Row are quickly adding up to be a new favourite series. This story is unpredictable, exciting, comical and a little naughty. There is nothing more enjoyable than watching a tight-laced Lord lose control and when his potential brides’ companion quite literally throws herself at his feet, all bets are off! Clementine has been dealt a bad hand ever since she lost her parents, but all losing streaks come to an end eventually. I loved that even from the beginning, in the loyal companion stages of the story, you could see little hints of clementine’s true character shine through. She was never quite as biddable as she seemed, and that sass always seemed to come out when alone with Benjamin. He made her comfortable from the start, free to let her guard down. Their chemistry was obvious and their fall inevitable. And don’t get me started on the intimacy! Their connection was so real and raw and endearing. Embracing all the insecurity, what could have been embarrassing was quite beautiful in their understanding and freedom. They let their inhibitions down and were just real! It was one of the most tender scenes I’ve read. In the end what started as a marriage of sacrifice was no sacrifice at all because their love was clearly there from the start. Anders writes a beautiful partnership with love, respect and connection and it is fabulous!
This was a fantastic story and had a lot of unique characters. Clementine and Benjamin were lovely together and their together times were quite hot!! They were perfect for each other. Her aunt and uncle were assholes but someone has to be the bad guy in the story. This was one of the author’s best books in some time.
I received this e-book as an advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I found the story ok. I liked the hero, his fussiness was amusing, the guy was a clotheshorse. Straightening his lace cuffs was a cute touch. He's working at something a gentleman could do without the Ton looking down on him, horses and horse racing. His racetrack has promise & he needs investors. This sets up the house party. The heroine comes in as a companion for the lady he thinks he'll marry. I never warmed up to Clementine, she's wary of everyone, there's a lot of good reasons, but she's barely civilized. That they fall in love has to be looked at as a heart wanting what the heart wants. Other than horses there's not much to their relationship, besides attraction. It's not something I'm going to read again but I look forward to the next story in the series.
He frowned in confusion, shaking his head. “Don’t you know?” “Know what?” “I could never hate you, Clementine. I love you.” “I…don’t know what that means.” “It means,” Ben leaned forward. “That you are more important to me than anyone else. It mean that you are the first person I want to see when I wake up , and the last one i want to see before I fall asleep. It means…”you are my everything.”
Have Mercy!!!! Everything. Do you hear me??? He said she was EVER-REE-THANG. And that's what Pall Mall Peer is. EVERYTHING. From heartbreak to hilarity, this book's got all the feels. Annabelle has made me laugh. Cry. Broken my heart and even shown me there are many ways to enjoy bananas. Y’all who knew ‘nanas could be so scandalous.
Pall Mall Peer is not just an entertaining read, it’s a heart-stirring page turner from start to finish filled with intrigue and passion. Its vibrant scenes and captivating characters leap off the page, sweeping you into a world of romance and adventure.
It is said that Lord Benjamin St. Lancaster, Marquess of Winterhope is a man of strict decorum. Arrogant, straight-laced and bossy. But let me tell you…my bae is anything but. Behind his facade is a man of tantalizing depth. He’s thoughtful and kind…and protective. It just takes the right woman to ignite the flames of his passion. And then there's Clementine Buckingham, whose outward appearance contradicts her true essence. Merely a paid companion, they say, but oh, how mistaken they are. Clem is compassionate, daring, and resolute…embodying every desire Ben never realized he harbored, every longing he never dared to voice. Brought together for a horse race at Hope Downs and amidst the anticipation of Ben's impending engagement, a magnetic pull draws them closer, igniting a love so tender and so pure that it stirs a sweet ache deep in your heart.
Annabelle Anders aint horsing around with the Pall Mall Peer. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with fun and a few twists and turns that'll leave you breathless – and maybe craving a banana or two.
Loved this unique HR! In here, unlike most HR's with starchy, tortured or rake heroes, the H here is a very proper gentleman who always strives to follow society's standards. He practices proper decorum and is always in control of himself but with a lot of self-control also comes a lot of suppression and frustration. Because yesss, he also happens to be virgin and saves himself for marriage, ugh that was so cute. And then of course we have the amazing heroine, I loved that the h in this one is not a wilting flower, she's not prone to hysterics and my heart ached for all the things she had to go through.
They are really opposites-attract and man, the attraction and tension between these two, from that funny and totally unforgettable meet cute, was already roof high. They were so drawn to each other and I just loved the slow burn of this one, though I don't usually like slow burn romances but I think this author did it well. The romance here is very subtle at first, then slowly, slowly ratchets up when a big twist happened midway through the book until that first time together and my my their first time was so tender, so sweet, cause yeah, they are both virgins! It's not overly graphic but still has the right amount of spice. Also loved all the equestrian and horse talk (maybe cause' I've always been fascinated with equestrians) most especially, women in equestrian so I really enjoyed this one. I loved that they understood each other and shared a bond because of their mutual love for horses and horse riding.
However, some parts felt like dragging at times and there are actually a lot of fade to black scenes, which was a shame cause' they both really waited a long time for it and as a reader, you kinda feel that way too, I mean there were some parts that is more tell than show. Also, I hoped that epilogue was quite far into the future but since there is still another book in this series then I guess there will be much glimpse of the future for all the characters in this series. Enjoyed this book!
First things first, this is story is filled with laughter, heartbreak, and bananas.
Benjamin is known for being everything proper, he doesn't so much as break any of society's rules, because of how his father acted and how his father destroyed the family legacy, he intends to marry the diamond of the first water until the diamond of the first water's companion shows him life doesn't always have prim and proper, and that sometimes it's okay to break the rules.
Clementine lost her mother due to childbirth then short afterwards she lost her father to a riding accident. She's forced to leave everything she's ever known behind in order to go live with her aunt and uncle in London and she thought they would welcome her with open arms however she ends up becoming a companion for her cousin. She's always afraid of what might happen if she doesn't behave until she meets a marquess who shows her an ounce of kindness.
Despite the fact that they are from two different worlds and have had two different upbringing, they have one common goal: to make a successful horse race to make hopes down one of the top racing places in England. However while they go on a ride in the middle of the night to discuss horses and so much more they find themselves comprised. And they are forced to wed. But they find that its not such a terrible thing because they both feel things they've never felt before with anyone else.
This story was beyond fulfilling.
I enjoyed seeing the two couples and them helping Clementine and Benjamin find their way to each other.. Especially with the bananas!!
I loved this story from beginning to end.
I definitely can't wait to read the next book in this series.
I received this book as advanced reader's copy in exchange for a voluntary review and this is purely based upon my own personal opinion and that of no one else.
Pall Mall Peer. My fellow readers. If you are a huge fan of this author then you are going absolutely love this book. Let start by saying that the writing creativity is so remarkable. The plot is engaging between the characters. The plot compliments finding the ending to this love story with the results of a happy ending. Next my fellow readers it’s the love match that grows between our two main characters that was truly fun to read. It was masterfully written. The pure ambiance of new love is so refreshing for to people who so richly belong together. Benjamin and Clementine or Ben and Clem. I know write? The couples name is so cute. BenClem or ClemBen. Well BenClem are absolutely splendid in response to their courtship. The two honestly didn’t realize what they were sharing among their family members. Quite frankly I believe Ben didn’t give a fig what anyone other than Clementine had to say about it. For me, how the story was written was so splendidly beautiful. The whole time while I was reading I was shouting, “ just kiss her now”. Forget about Amelia’s parents and proper etiquette. They’ll survive. Corner Clementine against a bedroom door, and ravish the women. Ravish her with mind blowing, melt all her anguish away kiss of a lifetime. With the love that Ben and Clem hangs in the balance of will they or won’t they? Ben has called in by his brothers in arm to handle a major issue that involves the crown. I have to say I love a good mystery that’s weaved into an outstanding love story. I’m a big fan of page turns and I am happy to say that this book is one of them. I give this story two snaps and a, I say! Did a certain person play match maker during the whole event with friends and family? You will have to read the read the book and let me know your answer. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
Forbidden friendships, moonlight confessions, gossip, envy, a lost reputation, lost luggage, lots of horses, good and bad intentions, loyal friends, bananas and a dash of drama… When cupid disguises himself as a cat, what else can you expect but a witty, tender, endearing, lively and utterly captivating tale full of heart?!
Clem and Ben are not that different: kind, clever with a sly wit, a little naughty and determined to overcome whatever life throws at them. Even when the hits just keep on coming… I especially loved how rational and protective Ben is around Clem whenever she’s in trouble - mostly of her own making. They each carry their own load of personal baggage that comes with pressure, insecurities and doubts. But in in each other, they discover a vulnerability and an inexplicable attraction that goes beyond their mutual love for horses.
This was a thrilling read! There’s some ongoing drama form the previous books and a cast of colourful side characters that have me wanting to read the entire series, but this book works wonderfully well as a standalone! ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
📚 After Clementine lost nearly everything, her aunt and uncle begrudgingly took her in as a companion to their daughter, Lady Amelia, and her cat Margie. Oh, she knows she didn’t make the best first impression upon meeting her niece’s soon-to-be husband, yet he treated her kindly, and Margie sure liked him, and he has horses! Maybe, if she blends away as her aunt wishes her to, she might enjoy this house party after all… For Benjamin there’s nothing but a pristine reputation when it comes to helping the ton forget his debaucherous father. Horses are his life, but every marquess needs a wife, a lady of the highest standards. So, he invited the season’s diamond and made his intentions clear to her father. It’s but a formality - if she’ll have him. Only, upon their arrival, he’s greeted by a white fluffball and a girl with enchanting violet eyes in a most peculiar way. Even though his mind is made up and she’s supposed to be invisible, they keep being thrown together - almost as if fate had it in for them…
This is the 4th book in the series, and there is enough tying the books together that you will enjoy them more if you start at the beginning. You could read this as a stand-alone, but the early parts of the book will leave you feeling like you’ve missed some things. By the end, enough details are included of the overarching plot that you’ll be satisfied, but really, Anders writes well, and you would enjoy the other installments anyway.
This book focuses on horses. Clementine is an orphan, serving as a companion to her cousin. She misses her parents and the horses she grew up with.
Benjamin is the Marquess of Winterhope, and is inaugurating his new racetrack with a race and house party.
Clementine accompanies her cousin, aunt, and uncle to the house party. Her cousin is expecting to make a match with the Marquess.
Clementine makes an impression on the marquess upon arrival, and their journey to HEA is a pretty bumpy one. Anders balances details, atmosphere, and characters very well, and I really enjoyed this story. It’s not clean, as is usual for this author, so please don’t read if you don’t like explicit scenes. It’s moderately steamy, but the love scenes do not overpower the story.
Some progress is made on the story linking the installments together, but we haven’t solved the problem of the Duke of Crossings yet, so more installments are certainly on the way. I am looking forward to them!
Annabelle Anders can always be counted on to provide an endearing read with ALL THE FEELS. She never fails to write a scene that grabs onto my heart and won’t let go. In “Pall Mall Peer” the latest release in her Rakes of Rotten Row series she continues this tradition. This story shines with an unexpected pairing, that validates the sentiment, what one wants is not necessarily what they may need.
Benjamin St. Lancaster, Marquess of Winterhope (now that’s a mouthful) is a man with impeccable standing who is determined to achieve his dream of owing and running a respectable horse racetrack. Clementine Buckingham has suffered unimaginable losses and endures constant cruelty from her aunt and uncle. Still, she has managed to maintain her kindhearted nature with a touch of sass.
Even though their initial meeting is a bit messy, you see Ben’s empathy right away and cannot help but adore him. I love how attuned he is to Clementine. He listens to what she says and sees what she does not say. Their chemistry just effortlessly flows with their support of each other as they work through the adversity thrown at them from multiple fronts. This couple enchanted me as I laughed, cried and got sooo angry on their behalf. All while stress eating bananas! Don’t miss this if you love emotion filled stories with unexpected surprises and a Marquess as your champion.
I received a copy from the author, and this is my voluntary and honest review.
What a great read! My heart ached for the h and how her distant family treated her. Throughout the story, they were referred to as her aunt/uncle or cousins. I believed cousin was the correct relationship.
The h was sweet and caring and had wonderful and loving parents who died. Her life changed drastically and was made companion to her cousin. Unlike in Cinderella, the cousin was loving and kind, but the same couldn’t be said for her parents.
The H was straitlaced and a rule follower because his deceased father wasn’t. He tried so hard and nothing was easy.
The journey the H/h took to HEA was very bumpy and far from easy. Lovemaking within marriage-heat level 5 out of 5. Bedroom door wide opened. I found it filled with love and passion. One crude word used. I found it funny how the friends used bananas to tutor the h, but some may find it too much.
I wish we knew more what happened to the h’s cousin, what did the future hold for the H and his horses. We are given an epilogue 1 week in the future, I would have liked it to be a year at least.
Nice to catch up with characters from the previous stories. Even though book 4, it’s a standalone story.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, plenty of steam, and romantic.
I received ARC from BookFunnel, all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)
A very proper Marquess, Benjamin, has decided which Lady would be the perfect one for him to marry. Amelia, has come to Winter Castle to get to know Benjamin a little better, prior to seeing if they would suit. Amelia is accompanied by her parents and cousin, Clementine, her companion. She was taken in by Amelia’s parents and given the job of Amelia’s companion.
This was a very well thought out story, and the characters were all well described. This included Amelia’s cat Margie, who causes some delightful mishap moments for Benjamin and Clementine.
Benjamin somehow ends up spending more time with Clementine than Amelia, partly due to Margie, but also because they both share a love of horses.
The road to true love, however, is never smooth. Benjamin becomes a besotted hero and Clementine is given a brand new life to live.
Beautifully written scenes between the two main characters, and as I was reading this book, I was wondering if the next couple would be who I suspected. Well, I was very happy to discover at the end of the book that I was right. Looking forward to reading book 5 in the series.
Congratulations Annabelle on a real page turner and delightful story. I highly recommend this book to be read.
This story is filled with everything! It's fun, romantic, sweet, and even at times heartbreaking.
I so didn't want to put it down.
Benjamin and Clementines story is so heartwarming and I loved the journey, you want to see these two come together.
Benjamin is a typical gent, he's proper, straight laced, no rule breaking ton member. He plans on playing the part correctly and marrying the seasons diamond...except her companion is so much more intriguing.
Clem, aka Clementine is so sweet, so real, but she hasn't had an easy life. Losing her parents was hard enough but having to live with family you think will open their arms to you, only to treat you with indifference is another loss. She lives in fear, fear of rejection...until Benjamin.
These two people come into each other lives, they are from different worlds and different characters but they have one common interest.
That very interest is what brings them together, unintentionally but beautifully.
Loved their story and it was wonderfully written.
I received an ARC from the author. All opinions expressed are my own.
Pall Mall Peer is book four in The Rakes of Rotten Row series by Annabelle Anders. So first of all, I love Ms Anders writing. She is absolutely one of my favorite authors and I appreciate the way she treats her ARC team since I am on it. My big pet peeve is that she doesn’t date her stories. The reason this is important to me is I enjoy researching and looking into history. When I read a book as a Beta reader, I am often checking fashion, settings, language use, historical occurences to see if they are accurate to the time period. In this particular set of stories, so many things are mentioned that did not take place during the Regency Era but instead took place during the Victorian Era that it really can’t be called a Regency romance. That said, I enjoyed the story overall. I think the Marquess of Winterhope is one of my new favorite characters. He’s a man of honor and integrity. The heroine Clementine is a relation of a prominent family who has been reduced through loss to poverty. Clem accompanies her cousin to a house party and finds her life forever changed. There are a number of very, very steamy scenes.
What a fun and enjoyable read. Clementine loses her parents and the new air tosses her out as soon as he arrives. She then goes to live with an aunt and uncle but instead of welcoming her, they take it as an opportunity to get free labor as she technically becomes her cousin's companion but is treated more like a family servant. Benjamin, the Marques of Winterhope is hosting a house party with 2 objectives, to announce his planned bet ritual to Clem's cousin Amelia and to host the first ever horse race on his new course. Amelia is a sweet girl, much kinder than her parents but Clem is the one who catches his eye. Her love and knowledge of horses rivals his own. Their shared love of horses brings about scandal and a quick marriage. While this was never his plan, it turns out to be just what he needed. The idea that both bride and groom were virgins on their wedding night adds to the charm of the story. The reader can't wait for the Happily Ever After that these 2 deserve.
What a life for Clementine, being a poor relation and having to accept being a companion to her cousin. The aunt was completely heartless and the uncle wasn’t much better. Amelia, her cousin, was kind to Clementine but I thought she could have done more to help her. She was a bit thoughtless at times. Benjamin, the Marquess of Winterthorpe, was looking for the perfect bride. However, his first interest was his horses and establishing a racing track. Clementine had a unique understanding of horses, mainly due to her background. Inevitably, this brought them closer together but Ben was supposed to be seeing if Amelia would suit him. The investigation into the Duke of Crossing’s illegal activities is still ongoing. I did enjoy this story very much, the main characters were very likeable and there were some interesting secondary characters. I look forward to reading the next in the series. I received a copy and have voluntarily been it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I Loved It! The fourth in The Takes of Rotten Row series does not disappoint. From the first page to the last Pall Mall Peer will keep your attention from the moment you begin the journey with Benjamin, Marquess of Winterhope and Clem until the very end. Annabelle Anders has written a story that's filled with characters that weave a story that will hold you spellbound as their individual personalities become more than just part of the tale they come off the pages and pull you in, with sizzling passion, witty and laugh out loud dialogue, the book flowed well from one thing to another without being forced, plot brims with twist and a dastardly villain. With setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid that brings the story to life. I can't wait for Mr Beckworth and Lady Amelia's story!
Clementine and Benjamin were a rather unconventional pairing, and we got an element of the Cinderella story here with Clem being an impoverished relation and Ben being a wealthy marquess. He held onto his stiff, starchy manner rather longer than I thought he might and I think there were a few missed opportunities here for him to have been a truly fantastic hero but I still really liked him and I liked the open communication that existed between him and Clem, I only wish it had come along earlier in the story. I liked this couple, and I loved that they bonded over horses. There were a few loose threads left at the end, but I’m assuming these are tied up in future books as the series continues.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the fourth book in the series and the characters from the previous ones do appear.
What can I say about this book? It made me cry, laugh out loud and at times angry at the way Clementine was treated by her family.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I loved it that much!
Clem, an orphan and niece to her aunt is her cousin's companion. They travel to a house party given by Benjamin, the Marquess of Winterhope, who is also opening a horse racing venue.
I loved the interaction between Clem and Benjamin and his kindness towards her.
There is a moderate amount of heat to the story, and a very funny scene with two of the wives of friends of Benjamin.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Thrown out of her house after her parents died, and treated as a servant by the Aunt and Uncle who took her in, Clementine didn’t have great hope for her future. She travels with them to a house party , for her cousin to get to know her would be betrothed. As a companion, Clem didn’t know where she fit in; not a servant but not a lady either. But when she meets her cousin’s intended there is mutual attraction. Benjamin was such a wonderful book boyfriend. He was kind, respectful, and compassionate. Their love of horses bound them together. Their relationship was pure delight and the romance sizzling. There were serious times of intrigue and betrayal but also witty moments, and a cat that steals the show. The ending is wonderful but grab a Kleenex ! Yes, I cried!
Annabelle Anders continues to give readers exciting stories. Pall Mall Peer is book 4 in the Rakes of Rotten Row series. The plans to expose the Duke of Crossings for his illegal trading of opium is the base of the series. Thus far 3 friends have fallen into love and marriage. Benjamin is next. Always seeking to maintain propriety in the wake of his father’s debauchery and opium use. He had chosen the perfect wife, perhaps until he met her cousin Clementine. The story progresses with a horse or two, a house party, compromise, a bargain with the enemy, a horse race, oh and a love match. Perhaps a surprise or two. Pall Mall Peer can be read alone as well as part of the series.
I love a book that revolves around horse racing, because I always learn something new about horses, who are fascinating and mysterious creatures to me… I loved this book quite a lot, because Anders’s gorgeous writing has given life to two vivid and lovable main characters and has created a very solid and interesting plot. I also love that even if the book makes for a good standalone, there’s a common thread that links all the book and it’s a very intriguing one! I can’t wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great book in this series, you can read this alone, but I would recommend reading the whole series. This is about Clementine and Benjamin. Benjamin is very proper and a master of horse racing. Clementine is a companion to her cousin who is the diamond of the season. Benjamin and Clementine meet when they are at a house party where Benjamin was hoping to get with Clementine’s cousin. One night Benjamin and Clementine are compromised and must get married. There is some heart break and laughter in this book. I really enjoyed it. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest opinion.
A 5 STARS exillirating experience that grabs your heart & doesn't let go until the final word. Book 4 in this incredible Series: The Rakes of Rotten Row gives off a little of Cinderella vibes. Great characters with some familiar from prior books in the series.
Fast paced & action packed. It is so obvious from the start that Clementine's & Ben's overall personalities & interest aligned
they were attracted to each other.
This was fate, a fairytale in the making. Besides her cousin really didn't seem to really want Ben she wanted to marry him for her parents.
Wonderful story of Benjamin, Marquess of Winterhope and Clementine, companion/cousin to Lady Amelia Crowley, expected fiancé of the Marquess. Benjamin has invited Amelia and her family to a party to celebrate the first race being held at Hope Downs, his new race track, and plans to ask for her hand in marriage. Unexpectedly he falls for Clementine instead. Loved these characters and their undeniable attraction, and how they help each other through their problems and worries. Also enjoyed Margie the cat and her antics. Part of the Rakes of Rotten Row series but can be read as a standalone.
