This 14th installment of the Jerry McNeal Series has Jerry and Gunter heading to Texas.Along the way, Jerry finds himself dealing with unexpected visitors who challenge his patience and further test his psychic abilities.Among the visitors is the ghostly spirit of Texas Ranger, Clive Tisdale, who is not a fan of dogs, refuses to tell Jerry why he is there, and if his presence has anything to do with Texas Ranger Raymond Hale.Raymond Hale oversaw mob informant Antonio Maioriello until both men went missing years earlier and were presumed dead until recent weeks when Maioriello’s image started showing up in tourist photos taken outside the Alamo. At first, this was presumed to be a camera malfunction, as no one recalled him being present at the time the photos were taken. Then Maioriello showed up in a photo with the niece of Bruno Deluca – the man Maioriello informed on before being placed in the witness relocation program, and Deluca used his influence to demand answers. Now, not only must Jerry locate the spirit who is causing the chaos, he must convince Bruno Deluca that Maioriello is truly dead. Will Jerry and Gunter get to the Alamo in time to defend it from another invasion? Will Tisdale change his stance about dogs?Find out in Star Treatment – book 14 of The Jerry McNeal Series.

I've read the entire series, and I will continue until the series ends. I love Gunter and young Houdini. I like hearing about what they're up to next. It doesn’t matter what the latest adventure is. I'm just along for the ride, but I am sitting in back because the front seat belongs to Gunter.
Book 14 Filled with crazy memorable characters.,several gifted psychics .I truly enjoyed #14 in the series. I didn't put it down until the end . I look forward to #15 and the new adventures of Here and his GSW and friends.
I love dogs and Jerry's dog Gunter and the pup Houdini, as well as April and Max, have gotten to be like friends! In this book Jerry heads west and then to San Antonio at the "request" of Fred to catch a killer! Along the way they encounter other spirits, including a lawman that Jerry actually enjoys, and they solve a case together, before Jerry heads south to Texas to find his answers to the job he's been sent on! Now I'm going to have to wait to continue the saga of Jerry, April, Max, Gunter, Houdini and Fred for the next book to come out! I can't wait!
Jerry and Gunter are startled when Houdini joins them on search and rescue.
Houdini is getting to be a big boy and Max has been training him in search and rescue. So of course when Jerry and Gunter are sent on a search for a missing coach Houdini pops in to join them. Then they finally get to their main hunt and he pops in again. He is just having a great time learning from his dad and Jerry. Then again they also have the Texas Ranger that has been with them for several days. And a lady that can’t remember who she is. That also pops in-and out. Then his boss gets involved. Great read and lots of fun and giggles.
I absolutely love Sherry A. Burton's The Jerry McNeal Series! Jerry and his ghost canine companion are amazing. The stories of how he saves people and solves the mysteries keep me reading too fast and poof! The book is over long before I'm ready for it to end. Each book is a treat and I can't wait for the next one. Thank you Sherry for such good entertainment!!
Once I started to read book 1 I was hooked. Now I have to wait for 15. I hope there will be 16 and 17 and more. I also hope the author is amply rewarded for her work. I could try to praise her literary skills but I will leave that to others. I have been reading books for 70 years and I have enjoyed these as much or more than all the others I’ve read. Thank you.

Jerry and his sidekicks are at it again, on their way to solving another ghostly case. Along with Gunter, Jerry finds the spirits of the pink-haired lady and a Texas Ranger joining the adventure this time. Of course, Houdini makes himself known as well.
They veer off track when a lost man needs help, then make their way to the Alamo to help with a witness protection fiasco.

The characters in Star Treatment made my day. Clive, a ghost and Texas Ranger, has the most intriguing presence. He holds back at times, is experienced as a lawman, even though it was many years ago, and is a stable, calm presence.
Houdini’s appearances are exciting as he pops into Jerry’s adventures with gusto, causing problems at times and being helpful at others. He’s a work in progress, as Gunter teaches him the tricks of the trade.
Some characters from other books also appear, including the pink-haired lady.
There are moments to laugh as well as tense situations, especially when the mob becomes involved.
Well-written, with witty characters and captivating situations, Star Treatment is a joy to read. I’m already looking forward to book fifteen.

Jerry and the pups, a Texas Ranger, and the Easter Bunny walk into a bar. Just kidding! A Witsec witness is murdered but he has unfinished business and needs Jerry to help him with it! A Texas Ranger who is dead but still on the job is here to help Jerry. And Houdini comes along to help dad out and get some training of his own. A Medium who doesn't know she is one, a basement under the Alamo, the ghostly Texas Ranger's ghostly horse and this is shaping up to be very interesting!
A short but entertaining book. Jerry and Gunther enjoy a close relationship but have other beings entering their lives. April, Max and Houdini are Jerry’s family and are occasionally pulled into the mysteries that Jerry and Gunther are assigned to solve. This series is interesting and entertaining. Plot lines are well defined and dialogue is well written. If you enjoy paranormal mysteries involving dogs this series is for you. I encourage everyone to try it.
Once again, Jerry and Gunter are on the trail of a ghost- this one mob related and causing grief at the Alamo. Along for the ride is a long-dead Texas ranger and Houdini, Gunter’s son, who pops in and out. It could be confusing but Ms. Burton deftly manages to lead Jerry and the reader to another successful resolution. I am enjoying this ghost series helping the living and bringing bad guys to justice.
Love the series! Characters are awesome. Strong, charming, and real
This series is well worth the read! The characters have strong foundations with tons of character growth…..all of them including Gunter and Houdini. No stagnant characters in this series. Curiosity, trust, family are important. The plots hold your interest, and feel original. I can’t wait for the next installment. Thanks, Sherry!
The spirited tales within are a double delight. Jerry and Gunther are now joined with the half spirit Houdini, A fitting name. I've downloaded the next book, hopefully not the last one. There is a lot of dialogue going on, humorous and informative, But it helps explain much of the mood and and situations. Jerry and April are a cute fit, if rather joined at the hip. 😆
…but I love Gunter and Houdini more. I love these books, and I’m sad when they end. This one had a few exchanges near the end that didn’t make sense, even after reading several times, and I’m not sure if they’ll be important for the future, if I’m forgetting something from before, or if they were rare not-so-greatly-written passages. Regardless, read it anyway.
So much going on and all of it entertaining. Bunny and Ranger Tisdale are the new ghosts and Houdini has a new power/problem. Fred and Barney come to the rescue with the Calvert, Max has her first case, Granny ensures that Jerry starts taking time, Fabel returns and might be family, and the Alamo is saved again. Jerry met a lot of ghosts and learned some new things with his gift in this story and it ended on a funny note. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
I loved every character, especially Gunter, Houdini, Jerry, an Max. Although Fred was remarkable. The books were filled with adventure, dramatic heart felt stories, filled with humor. No fowl language and no sex pages! Turn the lights dow low and read into the spirit world in a way you never have before💛🐾
I like that Jerry found a peer in Clive. Both had similar experiences with the living and non living.?I expect this could add to Jerry’s reach to have a lawman in the other side. Houdini’s appearances are too frequent without explanation, but it is funny when he doesn’t know he is there and others do.
Loved every page. Very intriguing read. Spirits everywhere. Some wanting to help. Some not remembering who they are or what happened. Jerry and the girls have their hands full with the dogs. Especially one half and half pup. Thanks for sharing your stories with us. Will patiently await the next book. As always keep writing and I will keep reading.
McNeal teams up with the spirit of a Texas Ranger from the Wild West and finds a lost person on his way to the Alamo and resolves a situation there. Houdini pops in to help on these cases being trained by Gunter. In the end April and Max joined him for much needed family time. Love this author and this series.
This series has it all. Great stories, wonderful characters, intrigue and humor. I can't get enough of it. I will be sorry to see it end and await the next book with bated breadth. I love the fact that Houdini has joined the team and helps take down the bad guys. Thanks Ms Burton.
As many times I have picked up a book just to find it was so boring that I couldn't get in to it. I have no problem with the Jerry McNeal series. Each book had a twist that leaves you longing for more. Keep them coming. I read this book in one day. Just can't put it down. Thanks!!!
I love this series and this writer. It’s seldom that I can read a book and picture it while I’m reading. And it so refreshing to read a book that isn’t full of sex and foul language. And has moments that have me laughing while reading I have saved this series in my library and can’t wait for the next one when I finish reading each book
I have loved every Jerry McNeal book so far and this one was awesome! I fell for the Texas Ranger who wanted his horse so bad, would be amazing to get to read his own story!
Sherry Burton has a wonderful Imagination and sense of humor. I love every single book she’s shared with everyone. The characters are real and the adventures are unique, believable and well thought out.
I love this series and I wish the author would consider continuing the series for years. Just a joy to read and watch all the characters grow in the roles. Love the dogs!
I love this series and this book was brilliant. I loved the dogs antics, the friendly spirits, the storyline and of course the love shared by Jerry, April, Max and granny. Long may Jerry and Gunter continue to investigate.
ALL the Jerry and Gunter books are great. This one just added much more fun to read. Houdini is great fun. Now have to wait for next one to see how the braided rope works! Love all the characters.
If you haven't read this series you're missing out
Book does not disappoint. Jerry handled his assignments and met some new friends. Hudini is following in his dad's footsteps and hopefully Gunter didn't leave 'presents' during his downtime! Looking forward to the next book!!
Just another fantastic book by Sherry Burton. I love these stories and can't get enough of them. Jerry seems like just an ordinary guy but he sure can uncover some interesting people. Can't wait for your next book.
I love this series so much...its all I can do to wait for the next one!! The characters are awesome, I love every one of them! The stories are amazing! I would recommend these books to anyone ....
I really love the dogs, Jerry, Fred and Barney. The Texas Rangers they met were great, too. But, I really don't like Max and April. The stories are interesting, too. Don't know whether I'll continue with the series or not.
