Savage Saints MC #2

Rider: A Shy Girl/Protective Alpha Romance

Rate this book
Sutton is like a delicate wildflower sprouting up between cracks in the cement. She’s beautiful, unexpected, and life-giving, especially after spending the last five years in prison.

The first time I saw her at the clubhouse, my knees buckled and I grew so lightheaded I thought I would faint. She’s skittish, however. I don’t know what she’s been through, but my girl can barely look at her own shadow without shrinking away from the darkness.

Little by little, I draw Sutton out of her shell, showing her how strong and brave she is all on her own. When she finds out about my past, all the progress we made is undone.

Can my wildflower forgive me and see past my flaws? I hope so, because I know I can’t live without her…

H has almost no history on his past. It is left ambiguous, except for this inner monologue, quote,
"Women were never on my
priorities list. No bitterness or terrible relationship experience, it just never
felt right. Or worth it. Women were never the point and certainly never the
most important thing in my life. Until my wildflower."
HEA
This is the love story of Sutton a young woman deeply scarred by the rejection and mistreatment by her parents. She is friends with Tessa from the 1st book in the series and so she would visit her at the MC clubhouse.
Rider got out of a 5 year prison sentence and a few weeks later meets Sutton. He is smitten and communicates with grunts. This 6 and 1/2 foot hulk is a marshmallow inside for his little flower and he heels her wounds little by little. He hides the fact that he was in prison for fear of her rejecting him.
I enjoyed these two! FINALLY after several failed heroes and a heroine in my past reads I find a REAL hero that made me swoon, sigh and found myself with a warm smile on my face, because this man is so incredibly romantic to his woman. And I found a heroine that I rooted for. There are so many acts of pure love and romance that when he says, "MINE! MY WOMAN!", let me tell you it is well deserved because Rider is a real alpha hero and I want my own.....sigh...
Sutton is a sweetheart, and she does have trust issues. I will explain the "spoiler" that was resolved in a day and to explain the 1 day separation. Here it is:
Rider was heading to home to his Sutton when a corrupt cop pulled him over and slipped enough drugs in his bag on the back of his bike to send him back to prison. When he was sentenced the first time, it was for drug charges. Drugs the cops slipped on him over 5 years ago. He went to jail and was miserable thinking of how upset and betrayed Sutton will feel. He regretted not telling her sooner, and hiding that part of his past when she spilled her deepest, darkest hurt with full trust in him. He did give some of his past to her, but not all and she was patient with him. He was freed and all charges dropped because a computer wiz, Axel, was very clever in convincing the cops that they are onto them. Rider went straight for Sutton, ready to beg, plead and grovel.
In the meantime, Sutton is waiting in the house and it was getting late, so she mustered her courage to go out on her own to the clubhouse to see if Rider is there. She overhears a phone call from the MC prez that Rider will NOT go to prison for another 5 years! She lets the words sink in and she goes to the women's shelter for the night, hurt that Rider didn't trust her to tell her that part of his life, when she gave him all her painful secrets. All types of thoughts run through her head about Rider, mainly doubt. When her friend Tessa, finds her they have a heart to heart. She tells her everything and her friend asks why she didn't trust her, she is her bestie after all, to which Sutton replies that she has trust issues, and it's not Tessa she doesn't trust, it's herself. When she tells him about Rider and why he didn't tell her his secret, Tessa replies, "Why didn't you tell me about your troubles?" She was stunned and embarrassed at her own hypocrisy, realizing that Rider could have hidden his secret because of his own fears. When Rider came to take her home, caveman style, she warmly listens to him and their heart to heart was so romantic I reread it several times.
There is a lot of sex in this novella and it is hot, it is deliciously erotic, because you believe in the love the two have for each other.
THIS is a love story where you root for the couple. The hero is a true one, he is a real alpha male that you believe in, and the heroine is a woman you understand and feel for. It takes a real man to show his soul to his woman and it takes a strong woman to comfort her man when she realizes that his act of bearing his soul to her takes courage and in his vulnerable state, she shows him that she is strong for both of them, like he was strong for the both of them when she was bearing her soul and secrets to him. No judgment, just loving kisses, ears and heart open ready to listen and comfort, holding each other in understanding. Now that is love. You want to be loved like Rider loves his Sutton and you will leave sighing with a smile!
I love this book and I loved the first book as well. Tessa and Hawk were very sweet, I do remember them.
It goes without saying that I recommend the book and the first one as well.
Happy reading!!

This novella hit the spot for me. I LOVE shy heroines who have low self-esteem grow into themselves. Sutton has had a rough few years and has horrible anxiety and panic attacks. But guess what? The hero, Rider, certainly knows how to deal with her. <3

I loved the story, the characters were cute and sweet, and there was some spice! Cameron Hart's novellas are sugary sweet yet heated at the same time.

SAFETY:
Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, unknown past for hero
OM/OW drama: none

We met these chara in book one!! And now it's their turn. Rider is out of prison it's been about 5 years, and he's been smitten with Sutton, but he knows his rough look and lifestyle isn't for her, so he keeps his distance. As for Sutton, she's been homeless, and instead of asking for help, she keeps that info to herself until Rider finds her, and it's all downhill from there. He makes sure she's taking care of letting her get used to him, already showing her what type of man he can be for her. And I love that she let him. We also get some side charas from books and future books.

We see some drama ;) and spicy times.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

I had been waiting for Sutton and Rider’s story since they met in Hawk’s book and I was so excited to finally have it! Sutton has an awful past and is just trying to make it when things seem to keep going badly. Rider just got out from being set up and put away. They both have an instant connection but also seem to be afraid to trust. Their story pulled at all my heart strings. It was sweet, spicy and suspenseful. Can’t wait for the next book of this series.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Rider and Sutton met when she comes to the bar her friend Tessa Hawk is working at. Rider tries to introduce himself to Sutton but she's not use to being out around people. On a night Rider can't sleep he takes off to the clubhouse but finds Sutton's car parked along side the road. When he looks inside thinking she broke down he finds her asleep in the back seat. When Rider grunts Sutton wakes up and he asks her why she's sleeping in her car. Sutton can't get the words out, she's homeless. Rider asks Sutton if she'll come home with him and she can have his guest bedroom, she tells him she can't. Rider asks her if she'll come to his place and take a nap then instead. Sutton agrees, and Rider climbs behind the wheel and drives her to his place. When they arrive Sutton is asleep so Rider carries her inside and tucks her into his bed. When Sutton wakes up she's not sure where she is, she remembers Rider showing up and offering his home. When Sutton gets out of bed she tries to sneak out of his home, but Rider is right outside her door. Rider was waiting for Sutton to wake up, he prepared her food to eat, and it'll take them a week to eat it all. Sutton asks Rider how he learned how to cook and he tells her from his mother, then she asks about his mom. Rider asks Sutton to let him show her that she's worthy of good things. While at church Blade Blade gives Rider a new job to do. Rider wants to get home to Sutton after his meeting. Sutton is home doing everything she can to clean Rider's home she thinks she needs to help to repay him for letting her stay with him. Rider tells her that he wants her to be safe and happy, and she doesn't have to prove herself to him. Rider tells her he's just happy to see her when he comes home. Rider asks Sutton who made her feel unworthy of love, she tells him about her parents. Sutton tells Rider that her parents never wanted her, she was always in the way. Sutton tells Rider that she was doing her best just to survive. Rider tells her she doesn't need to survive anymore, she's safe with him. Rider kisses her, pulling her into his lap. Rider then pleasures Sutton, then he carries her to his bedroom. Rider tells her that once he has her he's not letting her go, and she tells him the same. Rider pleasures her and then they make love. When Sutton's stomach growls Rider tells her he'll feed her in bed. Rider asks Sutton to stay with him. Then next day Rider wakes before Sutton and them pleasures her then they make love. Sutton finds out about Rider's mom passing away from cancer. Rider gets a phone call from Blade and has work to do. When she arrives she stays hidden in the back, Sutton overhears someone say that Rider was arrested once again. Sutton's whole world falls, he never told her he went to prison. Sutton heads to a woman's shelter and cries herself to sleep. When her phone keeps ringing someone wakes her up. Sutton finds out that Tessa has been calling her. Tessa answers her phone to find out that Tessa has been worried about her, and is coming to get her. Rider gets locked in the jail cell because of a dirty cop planting drugs on him.

XD)

We first meet Sutton and Rider in Hawk & Tessa's story.

Their meet cute is so adorable with this gigantic man fumbling around trying to figure out how to talk to Sutton and embarrassing himself. Little did he know that Sutton has an anxiety disorder and is quiet and awkward with everyone. I was really looking forward to seeing how their story would turn out and I'm so glad Hart is still a trustworthy writer.

Sutton's dealing with some fucked up family issues that necessitates her being unhoused and living in her car when Rider comes by and realizes the woman he's been crazy about is vulnerable and in a dangerous situation living out of her little old Corolla.

Rider was such a gentle giant and so so aware of how to engage with Sutton without trying to scare or push her too hard. Major props to Hart for writing such a considerate and thoughtful hero in Rider. He was always putting Sutton first and thinking about her needs before anything else. His priority above all else was Sutton's safety, comfort, and happiness. Also, Rider contemplating summer weddings and how many kids she might want? ADORABLE. ☺️

Also I've never written a review about a hug but HOLY FUCK THEIR FIRST HUG WAS SO STINKING CUTEEEEEEE. Picturing this 6'6 man twirling a happy sleepy little Sutton around in the hallway was ADORABLE. AND THEN HE COOKS LIKE 5 DIFFERENT ENTREES FOR HER.

Also the Tessa-Sutton relationship was so endearing to read about when shit hit the fan for the MC.

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Virgin h
No info on H (didn't get the sense that he was a manwhore or player)
H definitely celibate for at least 5 years (prison sentence)
Age Gap 10 years
No cheating/sharing
No OW/OM drama
Mentions of anxiety disorder
Childhood Neglect & Trauma
HEA-married 2 kids

🌟5/5 Highly recommend this short & sweet story. 💛

Rider meets Sutton soon after his release from a five year prison sentence. He’s immediately smitten with her. She’s very timid and jumpy around people, especially the MC club. Besides, with his past, there’s no way he’s good enough for her, even if he was wrongly put away. He tries to take it slow, let her get more comfortable around him. But when he finds her sleeping in her car after becoming homeless, he can’t just stand by. She doesn’t want her bestie, Tessa, to know and agrees to stay with him temporarily. She’s been unloved and made to feel a burden most of her life. He wants nothing more than to slowly show her that she is loved and cherished. Their relationship progresses a lot faster than he intended but they share a lot with each other. She really trusts him. Except Rider still hasn’t told Sutton that he served time in prison. But before he can tell her, she finds out and feels blindsided. When her bestie convinces Sutton to let him explain, will it be enough to restore her trust in Rider?

This is a fairly quick-paced, instalove with plenty of sweet and heat!.

Standalone, interconnected characters
Savage Saints MC
Protective MC, Curvy girl

*over 18 readers only*

Trigger warning
Anxiety
Homelessness
Police corruption
Drugs

Rider (mmc, excon framed by police)
Sutton (mfc)

Hawk (MC enforcer)
Tessa (mfc's best friend, with Hawk)
Blade (MC prez)
Axel (MC member)
Sheriff Daren Huxley (corrupt, Tessa's dad)
Slick (MC member)
Pete (corrupt cop)

Sutton has severe anxiety from the trauma her family inflicted on her. Tessa doesn't know that Sutton is now homeless because of her family, nor that she is living out of her car under a bridge. Rider finds her there and takes her home with him. He hasn't told her about his prison record. When he gets arrested again on trumped-up charges, she finds out and runs. Tessa finds her and takes her home. Rider comes for her. Can he convince her to come home with him and give him another chance? Will the SSMC ever be able to put an end to the police corruption?

I was hoping for more resolution to the corruption issue, but I know there are more books in the series. It will come out eventually. Also, when will the rat be caught? It wasn't really addressed in this book.

This is book number 2 of the Savage Saints MC series and focuses on Rider and Sutton. Rider was fresh out of serving a 5 year sentence in prison when he first met Sutton and immediately fell for her. He didn’t think that he was good enough for her because of his past but when he finds out she is homeless, he immediately moves her in with him. Sutton has wanted Rider since she first met him but she has a hard time letting people in and trusting them due to her parents and how she grew up. Once she moves in with Rider, their relationship doesn’t take long to progress to where they both want. I loved how incredibly tender and kind hearted Rider is with Sutton and how he works so hard to build her up after having spent her entire life being cut down. Sutton bloomed in every sense of the word with Rider and she brought so much light to Rider’s life after so much darkness the last few years. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

This is the second book in the Savage Saints MC series. There is talk about abuse but the abuse happens before the story begins.
Sutton is homeless and shy and timid but that doesn't stop her from being determined to work hard at her job and try to make her life better. I related to Sutton on certain parts of her life and it made me like her character even.
Rider is a member of the MC and just got out of jail. He sees Sutton and falls for her instantly.. He's obsessed (in a good way) protective and wants Sutton to be his forever.
But he screwed up and kept a secret from her..can he make it right when she finds out the truth??
This book has an age gap, possessive MMC, a timid FMC, a good amount of spice and some drama and it isn't too long which is a win for me!!
I can't wait for the next book to come out! I'm loving the men of Savage Saints...

Rider is the second installment in Cameron Hart’s Savage Saints MC series. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Sutton and Rider. This is an opposites attract romance as well as an age-gap one. Sutton is petite, shy, and lived an abusie life raised by parents who never wanted her and treated as though she should never had existed. Rider is a tall, muscular, tattooed biker who just got out of serving a five-year prison term under false charges. Their first meeting is awkward, but, the attraction between them is electric. Biding time, he keeps an eye on her. Then Rider finds Sutton sleeping in her car. He takes her to his place. Will Rider and Sutton find happiness? Can both heal from the wrongs that they’ve suffered? To find out you must read this book.

Once again, Ms. Hart penned a captivating quick read capturing the magnetism of love at first sight and the dangers with corrupt law enforcement officials and despicable relatives. I enjoyed her writing style. Her mastery of literary devices such as, characterization, dialog, dual POV, and descriptive language garnered my attention from the get-go lending itself for the perfect summer read. I am enjoying this series.

Rider is book 2 of the Savage Saints MC series. It is a short and super-steamy, age-gap, instalove, OTT, MC, curvy girl gets her hunky alpha male romance. Sutton is a young, shy, curvy girl who has had a tough life. Rider is an older, hunky MC member who has also had some tough times. When the two meet, they are instantly drawn to one another. Sutton feels she's unworthy of love, and Rider is worried he's not good enough for her. Can these two wounded souls heal each other? I thought their chemistry was great and loved how Rider cared for her so tenderly. After a little drama, we get a great HEA. I loved it and can't wait for the next one!!.

Rider, damaged by a lie. Sutton, damaged by life. Both of these characters feel they do not deserve love. Rider spent 5 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, he did not get to say good-bye to his dying mother. Sutton, from birth she was told she was burden, not wanted, and her whole world was taken away by her evil family. When Rider sees Sutton for the first time, he knew she was his, and Sutton wanted Rider, but after being told for a lifetime that she was worthless and rejected by her own family, could she risk her heart? Could Rider, an ex-con, give Sutton the life that she needs and deserves. And another lie could tear them apart. Spicy, wonderful and perfect!!!

Rider and Sutton's story is one of redemption for the man wrongfully imprisoned and salvation for the curvy girl that was never loved. Sweet and steamy, it's the second book in the Savage Saints series and Cameron Hart does not disappoint her readers. Rider doesn't feel he is good enough for Sutton and he vows to silently protect her, until he finds her sleeping in her car, then he just can't keep his distance anymore. Sutton can't really believe that gorgeous Rider would be attracted to her curves and shy nature. Soon she will have no doubts about how Rider feels, but when his secret comes out, will she be able to forgive him? I love these characters and can't wait for more stories about the Savage Saints.

I LOVED this book so much I read it in one sitting! Rider (the character and the book )is healing in a way. Rider, the character, helps heal Sutton from her horrible past. The book gives hope to those who have been apologizing our way through life. That's probably a bit deep but that's how I felt. I adore the Savage Saints MC and can't wait for Blade to meet his! And Axel..him too. Cameron Hart has written another world that I want to be a part of. The characters are rich and well written. The situations are believable. The stories keep me glued to the page. She is 1-click for me since I know I will always be satisfied.

I fell in love with Rider right from the start! Unfortunately, he loves Sutton - too bad for me but great for Sutton. She has never known love and it is difficult for her to accept the fact that anyone could love her - even her best friend. Rider makes Sutton feel safe, wanted and treasured. Just as things are looking up for them together, Rider’s past rears its ugly head causing Sutton to doubt everything she has with Rider.
This book was incredible! I love Cameron Hart books and this one was great! I enjoyed getting to know these characters. They seemed real and likable.

Rider is book 2 of the Savage Saints MC series. Can be read as a stand alone. But I recommend reading the books together since characters do crossover throughout the series. Nice and quick. As with most Cameron’s books your getting an instalove, sweet heat with a little bit of drama. Guaranteed HEA, no cheating, no cliffhangers. When Rider first sees Sutton he knows she is something special. Sutton is super shy and extremely anxious. When a turn of events puts them in each others path sparks fly. A definite recommend for me. As always make sure your comfortable with what your reading. Jump on and enjoy the ride. Happy Reading Book Besties💙

I absolutely love this book. Rider is such a perfect man. The way he cares for Sutton and wants what's best for her is so good to read. It's one of my favorite books at the moment. Their story is so good. Rider would do anything for his girl. I loved how patient he was with Sutton and I loved how Sutton felt so protected when Rider was around. They really are the perfect couple.
I love love love love this book. It's fun, steamy and so good. Their story grasps your attention and you won't want to stop until you're done.

Rider meets Sutton the first time when he is recently released from jail. She is very skittish, being around to many people has her shrinking away. When he finds her living in her car, he can not sit idlily by, he brings her back to his house. Little by little, she lets her guard down and lets him, he is not going to take it for granted.

When the crocked cops arrest him for drugs, she spirals when she finds out he served time in prison and did not tell her. Can she trust him, when he keeps secrets?.

Sutton is so sweet and shy, you can't help but want to hug her. She has never had anyone in her corner, except her bestie Tessa. But her faith in people is practically nonexistent and it is perfectly clear why when you learn about her past. So she keeps her struggles to herself while watching Rider with curious eyes. Rider is a cinnamon roll for her, its just too adorable. He is so earnest and sweet to her, knowing she needs him just as much as he needs her. I just love this series, I need more, stat!!

I thought this was a great story. I enjoyed the interactions between Sutton and Rider. Sutton is very shy and has a terrible past. She has anxiety from it. She doesn't like large crowds or people but Rider makes her feel safe. Rider is a member of the Savage Saints MC and is drawn to her. She brings light to his dark world. When he discovers she needs a place to stay, he opens his home. With the hope that she will never leave it but that they can grow a life together. Will he get his wish to come true?

3.5 stars because he’s super obsessed.
There wasn’t much going on with this book so I didn’t quite like it as much as the first one. If you didn’t read the first one then it feels like your kind of thrown into the middle of a book. There seems to be more sex in this one maybe that’s why I didn’t like it as much. The sex scenes were 🔥though. Riders got a dirty mouth!! I just wanted some more story between the two. I did love how Rider was with Sutton he’s definitely swoon worthy. Can’t wait to see the Prez fall next!!

This MC romance pulled at my heartstrings and is about two characters that are opposites but they are perfect for each other. Rider is fresh out of prison convicted of a crime he didn't commit and Sutton is homeless living in her car and destroyed by her family who consider her a burden. Finding each other was the best thing to happen for both of them. I loved these two for each other and I was rooting them on to get their happily ever after. Rider is book two in the Savage Saints MC series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

We met Rider and Sutton in book 1 of this series and now it’s their time to shine. Sutton has never felt loved or wanted but something about Rider makes her feel safe and seen. Rider has just gotten out of jail after 5 years on a trumped up charge. One look at Sutton and he’s tongue tied and making a fool out of himself. Rider and Sutton make a wonderful couple. They each bring out the best in each other and provide a safe place to become the people they were meant to be. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this story about overcoming your fears and making yourself open to love. Although the attraction is mutual, both Rider and Sutton have secrets that make them insecure. I love the way Rider is patient with Sutton, protecting her, taking care of her and showing her the love she never got from her parents. And I like the way Sutton is able to blossom in the relationship.
