Mr. Thornton and Miss Hale’s timeless story continues!
If you are one of the thousands of viewers who did not want the made for television miniseries of Elizabeth Gaskell’s North & South to end, then curl up in your favorite chair, grab a box of tissues, and pick up this book.
The credits have stop scrolling, and you are back to where John and Margaret left off—in the cabin of a northbound train returning to Milton. Be prepared to see vividly your favorite actors reprise their roles in your mind. Let words enable you to revisit their past, and fill in the missing voids of their lives before those last faithful minutes on the screen that left you breathless and wanting more. You will be satisfied!
By a miracle, John and Margaret confirmed their love for each other. Because of jealousy, hate, and lust, others will conspire to tear them apart. Your jaw will drop when shocking revelations become known and maliciousness is plotted. Only strength, courage, and deep abiding love will ultimately determine John and Margaret’s future, and who will survive the evil intent and darkening storm rolling into Milton.
Enjoy, the real continuation of John & Margaret – Coming Home With Me.
I loved the book North and South. I loved the movie. This was good fluff fiction to continue the story. Quite a bit of sex I have to say. Not your Victorian love story. But not Nora Roberts either! I'm glad someone put the thought and effort into the rest of the story. All the loose ends were tied up nice and pretty.
I loved the first half of he book but didn't enjoy the rest and thus my rating. We start off at the train scene - we read deep into the emotions of John Thornton and Margaret. Even life at Milton isn't easy with the Mills reopening, Johns mother and decisions that need to be made. It was realistic for their blossoming relationship and well written. But once the novel started down a path of danger, secrets and intimacy it lost my interest. Instead of a struggle between 2 strongly defined characters the novel turned to police investigation, issues with johns mother and tragedy. First half of the book 5 stars, second half between 2-3 stars for me.
If you love the mini series you have to read this for it is spot on with finishing up the love story. It was done so well that they should make it into a mini series part 2. The author wrote with a true love for the series and it shows.
Granted there are obvious grammatical errors and some confusing sentences, but the book was a decent read. I enjoyed it. It’s not the best book out there, but definitely not the worst. I’m a fan of N&S so it was fun to read a sequel.
The first 2/3s or there abouts was a very enjoyable read. After that with the off the charts evil behavior of Hannah, the attack on Margaret & all the back & forth, I lost track of what was going on. It was an erratic & not enjoyable read.
Coming Home With Me was a wonderful book. I do not enjoy having to skip pages of explicit sex. This story would have been a five but for those intimate scenes.
Well I can honestly say Mary Jo your story telling is really Remarkable and descriptive I especially appreciate the epilogue how you finished your story
I read North and South ages ago but only recently did I see the movie. This book really translates both the book and movie after parts beautifully. I read it in one sitting. Kudos to the author!
While this book is juicy and goes into detail in all the best places, the editor of this book should be smacked with it. This was a fun and captivating read, but seemed pretty shallow for the deep, complex relationship and personalities of John and Margaret. I mean, did anyone ever spell check this book? Writing is satisfactory although the style of writing deviates sharply from North and South. Just edit the book next time, gah! Makes it look like you don't really care about the text. ALSO, this sequel was based off of the filmed mini series. Stick to the original!!
Typical fanfiction, which was the origin of this novel. It's about the same quality you'd expect from a self published book. This was originally from a Fanfiction site with 100 great reviews, apparently. For fanfiction, I'd say it's good, but not good enough for published work.
Nunca me cansaré de la historia de amor de Margaret y John y está bella historia cumplió todos mis expectativas románticas. La amé totalmente. Amé que la historia estuviera totalmente concentrada en la pareja, por primer vez los demás detalles eran irrelevantes.
