This novella was really cute! It’s about Lara and Knox. Lara gets lost one day and comes across Knox, her savior. They get close quickly, sparks fly, and love blossoms.
This wasn’t my favorite Cassi Hart novella because I felt it was rushed a bit and it could’ve had more tension/spice. But otherwise it was good! <3

Lara was heading out to see her friend and get her creative juices flowing again only she gets lost. Knox didn't think he needed much else asking from the forger and his cat, until he comes across a lost Lara, but even with the sparks can they go the distance. Well written steamy opposites attract desires and more!.

Artist Lara (h) leaves the city on a surprise trip to see a friend in the country only to wind up stranded on a remote road with a sprained ankle. Blacksmith Knox (H) comes to her rescue in his truck and takes her to his remote home for the night. Things heat up quickly between the two, but the rapid pace has Lara feeling overwhelmed and Knox must convince her she’s meant to be his. Lovely age gap romantic quickie with a side of heat and a bit of angst. I only wish that Pierre had felt the bite of karma in his backside.

The Forbidden Blacksmith is book two in the Big Burly Romance series. A short steamy full-length standalone novella with no cheating, no cliffhanger and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. A nicely written story with extraordinary characters and fascinating storyline that captures your attention from the start and keeps you riveted and turning the pages until the end. Lara is a artist who is currently having creative block and can seems to put anything on the canvas. She's stuck in her studio trying to see if she can get her mojo back. Her mentor tells her that instead of locking herself inside her studio and can not come up with anything that she should go out and find her passion again, because she will not find inspiration again being locked up inside her studio. Lara decided that she was going to surprise her best friend Ashley at her family's ranch. She took a plane then rented a car to drive her the additional four hours to the ranch. She was using her phone GPS direction down unfamiliar country back road but lost her cell signal and because she's lost the car ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere. She abandon her car and decided to walk down the road and to make matters worse she broke her favorite bootiess and roll one of her ankle. She's scared and wants to cry because she has been walking for a while without any sign of civilization in sight. There's just one that road, and there's no one else on it which is why she's afraid and a panic attack is threatening to over take her.
They worry because no one even knows where she is, and her parents are vacationing in Italy and she hadn't spoke to them since they left, and her best friend isn't even expecting her since it was supposed to be a surprise. She noticed a car in the distance driving up the road in her direction. She started waving her hands to get the driver's attention. But as it gets closer she realized that it's an old red pickup truck. She was smiling at the massive wheels and mud-spattered body. However, her smile fell when her gaze connected with eyes so dark there are almost something feral about them. It's like meeting predators gaze as it watches you from the shadows ready to pounce at any moment. It shook her so bad that she had to step back suddenly, and when the door to truck opens and a massive man climbs out. She had never seen anyone quite as huge or wild looking as he was before. It's is dark eyes that gives her pause and has her swallowing hard and rooted to the spot while feeling like she wanted to run away. This man immediately unblock her creative block as her fingers started itching with the need to draw him. She wanted to draw the lines of his face, sketch the scar on his cheek onto a sheet of paper, and watch those dark eyes come to life as she captures them. She could already picture how her brush would give color to the canvas.
He asked if she wanted help and she told him that she had ran out of gas and if he show her to the nearest gas station and point her in the direction of The Blackwell Ranch. However, it was completely in the opposite direction from where they were currently at. She was so lost that she was four hours away from the nearest gas station and completely opposite from where her friend Ashley Blackwell ranch was. And to make matters worse when the stranger ran his hand on her injured foot it immediately broke out goosebumps all over her body. It decided to take her to his ranch to attend to her feet so that it doesn't get infected. He pick her up and put her in the passenger side of his truck. He got her stuff out of her rental and loaded them in the back seat of his truck. The entire time Lara brain kept on screaming this is dangerous, and how easily she trust him. Even more dangerous is her reaction to his touch. She find herself wanting more, craving the feeling of his rough palms on her. It distracts her to the point that she didn't realize that he was talking to her.
Knox is an ex-military man who took over the craft of his father as a blacksmith after his death. He had never felt so drawn with a woman before and her steering at him doesn't help. He's surprised that she hasn't felt his raging erection. He as in living in isolation for a long time and had not touched a woman in year. No woman had captured his attention like Lara did. Woman had not been his focus even when he was in the military. He had given up thinking that he'd would find someone. He figured that he'd spend the rest of his life alone. He just couldn't imagine that a woman would look at the rough appearance and hulking enormous frame and desire him. And never thought that he'd would feel the same way too, from the moment that he laid eyes on her he was a goner and wanted to claim her as his own. When she looked at his scarred face she wasn't filled with disgust or fear, in fact she made him felt desirable for the first time in the longest time. He doesn't want to trust him so easily because she could've ran into the wrong person and things would've been different. He's wondering if it was fate that they ran across each other and find himself dreaming of a future with her and mini her running around the ranch. He took care of her wound and watched her sleep the entire night.
Lara find Knox working in his workshop and asked if she could pain him. However, the painting didn't get to far because of their burning attraction. The two succumb to their attraction and it was scorching hot and fiery. It had been only twenty-four hours and she was it for him and he wanted to breed her and put a baby in her stomach to tie her to him. Knox was smitten and vice-versa with Lara. However, her best friend Ashley track her down at Knox and forced her to leave with her because she didn't leave like Lara was safe with him. And when he returned home after making his delivery and saw that she wasn't there he went crazy because he felt as if a piece of him was gone. Lara went back home put she couldn't stop thing about him. She had fallen in love with him but she knew that it was too soon and didn't know if the was reciprocated. Knox decided to track her down and let her know that when he told her that she was his he meant it and he loved her. Lara was surprised that he had left the mountain to track her down because she knew that he hates the city. They shared their feelings for each other and couldn't keep their hands off one another. She tells him that she wanted to go back with him because she often feels alone in the city. Fast forward, five years later they have a daughter and Lara is a successful artist with sold out openings. And they're still madly in love with each other and still can't keep their hands off each, and Lara still loves it rough and being talk to dirty.

Amazingly written with a page turner, easy to read and great characters, sweetly steamy romantic happily ever after story.
An artist runs out of gas and a blacksmith picks her up taking her to his home. As soon as they locked eyes they felt something deep inside. The two had very different worlds; hers was in the city with her art and he was of the country with army life and then his father dying leaving him with the home as well as being a blacksmith.
She decides that she wants to paint him and during painting him he gives her oral sex and then they have sex. She was a virgin and he tried to make sure that he didn’t hurt her. He let her make a call, she called her friend and they talked for a while but when the blacksmith went to take orders to his customers the best friend showed up and took her away. When the blacksmith gets home he finds that she’s not there and also finds a note that she left. After getting angry he calls his old army friend and had him find out where the artist is at.
The artist is back in the city, she couldn’t stay because she was overwhelmed due to that she was falling for the blacksmith. The artist is in her studio, as her cousin comes in but they're not alone for very long when the blacksmith comes in and the cousin leaves.
The two talk for a while. The artist starts a new painting of the blacksmith, they Wind up having sex, he winds up informing her that he loves her.
Five years later the two are married, they have a daughter and they live at his father’s place. The couple goes to the city for her gallery show with her paintings. They started rubbing on one another as her ex mentor came up and started talking to her. She leaves the gallery and her husband follows they have sex and tell each other that they love one another.

Let me just get this out of the way at the beginning of my review. Yes, there are a few issues with spelling, a missing word here and there, but this review is not based on those areas. My five star rating is for Cassi Hart's original plot, wonderful characters, steamy scenes, and her ability to grasp and keep my attention throughout Big Forbidden Blacksmith. I am a huge fan of Cassi's and she is my favorite author when it comes to quick easy read type books because her stories are never copycats or repetitive to any of her previous works. I have read so many of these types of books and I can not say this about any of those other authors. This is by no means easy to achieve as an author who puts out books frequently. Cassi has proven to me that she is gifted when it comes to her craft. I love A Big Burly Romance Series and truthfully, I cannot say that I favor any of Cassi's series more than the other. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Lara seems to have lost her mojo and artistic edge deciding that a few days away visiting her best friend would help, so she sets out to surprise her, but somewhere along the line she has got herself lost and the car that she was driving is out of gas and to top of a day of bad decisions her phone is about to die. She is about to give up all hope when a truck makes it way down the lane. Meeting Knox she feels an instant connection to him, which leaves her feeling safe and taken care of. Her fingers are suddenly itching to draw him, has Lara found not only love at first sight but also her true inspiration?
Knox returned home a few years ago after his father died he took it upon himself to look after his blacksmith business and his home, up until now he has been happy with just him and the cat, used to his own company and the thought of love had long since passed but that all changed when he came upon a true damsel in distress. He knew the minute that he got out of his truck that the one he had given up on finding was there waiting to be found. Taking her to his home so that he could tend to her wounds, and they had shared something special but when he is shocked to return to an empty home. Will Knox be able to find the only woman for him and is he willing to live in the city and leave his peace and quiet behind in the name of love?

The start of the A Big Burly Romance series each can be read as a standalone within an hour or so with a big burly sexy and the girl who captures his undivided attention. Lara is an artist who has lost her creativity so deciding to take a road trip in hopes of finding some inspiration along the way following her GPS which of course leads her in the wrong direction or maybe the right direction in a rural area and running out of gas leaving her stranded on a remote road. Knox sexy as all get out big burly headed home sees a stranded motorist not realizing the moment, he stops is the moment his world tilts, and he knows this woman is everything he didn’t know he needed helping her would be his pleasure. The magnetic pull between them is too strong to ignore and the more they try the stronger the pull both feeling they are right where they belong but does her creativity come back, can he convince her to stay, will she realize she can’t stay away, and can they find happiness considering they met in a really weird way?

I have read lots of books by this author. They are all consistently well written, and the plot is good. I enjoyed this one and will look forward to more.

This super sweet instalove romance novella features a reclusive ex-military mountain man and a lost artistic city girl. Knox enjoys his time alone in the peace and quiet. He’s been content being alone until he meets a damsel in distress, Lara. She’s stuck in the middle of nowhere without gas in her car or cell reception. Knox knows the moment he rolls up on Lara that she’s the one for him. Now he has a very limited amount of time to convince her that she should choose to stay with him. He was totally over-the-top and obsessed as all of the men this author writes about and I LOVED it!

Big Forbidden Blacksmith is a short and super-steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, girl gets her hunky blacksmith romance. Lara is an artist/painter who has a bit of a creative block. She has decided to leave the city to go visit a friend but her car breaks down and then she sprains her ankle. Knox is a hunky, burly, ex-military man turned blacksmith. When he sees Lara on the side of the road, he is immediately drawn to her. He takes her to his place to care for her. The next day, sparks fly, and it gets hot and steamy! She lets Knox, the sexy dirty-talking alpha he is, take her virginity, and Knox claims her. Will she stay? Or go back to the city? There is a little drama, but then we get an amazing HEA. This was another hot read from Cassi!!.

Lara is an artist, and she has a block and is going to her friend's ranch to find her muse to work again. On her way there she gets turned around and her car runs out of gas. As she is walking, she meets Knox when his big truck is driving towards her. Knox takes Lara home with him because where she wants to go is in the opposite direction and she has hurt her foot. Its not long before things heat up between them. Will Knox claim her as his own? Will she find her muse in him?
This is a steamy story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

A Great Read!!!!
I really enjoyed reading Big Forbidden Blacksmith( A Big Burly Romance Book 2)!!! All about Lara a young woman in her mid-twenties who is an artist & Knox who is thirty-four and is a blacksmith. He was driving down the back country road, when he happened upon a young woman walking in the middle of the street missing a shoe limping with a tear in her skirt. I really enjoyed reading Big Forbidden Blacksmith( A Big Burly Romance Book 2)!!! All about Lara a young woman in her mid-twenties who is an artist & Knox who is thirty-four and is a blacksmith. He was driving down the back country road, when he happened upon a young woman walking in the middle of the street missing a shoe limping with a tear in her skirt. This was a hot short read. If you love dirty talking alphas then this story is for you. Knox is an older former marine who is now a recluse. He has accepted his fate to be alone. He took over his father’s blacksmith business after he died.

I have a new book boyfriend - Knox! I don’t even care that he loves Lara, but the way he loves her is so touching. Knox is practically a recluse so imagine his surprise when he comes across Lara and her broken down car. The road is a deserted one and Lara feels safe with Knox when he offers to take her to his cabin.
Their chemistry is combustible! They waste almost no time steaming up my reader. Knox’s mouth is dirty and a huge turn on for Lara. When they are separated, they both have some big decisions to make.
This author’s work is incredible! Her talented writing draws readers in on the first page!

WHEW! 🥵. This is the steamiest Cassi book yet! I LOVED the MMC. He was gruff and rough on the outside but a total dominant marshmallow for the FMC.
The FMC was kind of weak-willed, but thank God the MMC was Mr. Take-Charge so things end up working out.
Highly recommend this one if you like insta-romances or Cassi Hart! 🥰

Disappointed
After really enjoying book 0.5 in this series I was looking forward to this book but despite the fact that I really like Lara and Knox for each other, and their steamy encounters in the naughtiest of places, plus an appearance by Ashley from the first book. I was disappointed that this book is littered with incomplete sentences, missing or incorrect words and typos. I have read a number of books by Cassi Hart and this is the first that has had these issues, so whilst I was disappointed in this book, it won't stop me reading the next in the series as I am hoping these are a one-off blip.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

They go full steam ahead but Lara is afraid of what he might mean to her but will she see the vulnerable Blacksmith is the one who needs rescuing and she’s just delaying fate because she WILL be his mate… Beautiful writing,awesome characters with angst , steam and a good backstory to make it realistic and relatable . Lara has been struggling with a creative block. She hasn't been able to come up with any good ideas for a painting. She hopes that by leaving the city and getting back to nature will inspire her. She decides to drive to the ranch that her best friend inherited and hopes that being out in nature will inspire her art. However traveling in the middle of nowhere has its dangers. Lara gets lost and runs out of gas. Luckily Knox comes to her rescue and drives her to town. He offers her a place to stay when it becomes obvious a big storm is about to hit. Knox was attracted to her the first time he saw her but know he just has to convince that she is meant to be his.

Big Forbidden Blacksmith is sweet and sexy love at first sight. Lara is a struggling artist seeking inspiration, and it finds her when she is stranded on the side of the road at dusk in the country. Knox is smitten by her on site, and the chemistry between the two is off the charts. I love how Cassi Hart creates short, sweet, fiery, passionate, creative love stories, and she delivers again here. This is a fabulous break time read!

This was a good book. I really enjoyed the instant connection, love, and chemistry between Lara and Knox. Lara get lost trying to find her best friend but is found by Knox, in more than one way. Knox has been on his own since his father passed and was brought to his knees when he sees Lara. These two have a really fast romance and when when Lara leaves, Knox is not far behind as he won't let his woman get away that easily. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to more from Cassi soon.

Unconventional Love
Knox is everything that any woman could dream of....huge, possessive, protective and shy. Lara is what most guy would call high maintenance but I think she was just trying to find her place cause no-one really took her serious. Knox did and fell in love immediately and so did she.
Cassi Hart is soo good at making a unconventional couple work..she is now one of my favorite OTT authors that I read no matter what the couple is.

Another one for the win column
My go-to books are the instalove, shorter reads as they are easier to fit into my life schedule. Cassi Hart has quickly become a favorite of mine. Her ability to weave a story and get you vested in the characters in a short period of time never fails to amaze me.
This book had more “internal” dialogue than I am used to from her work, but it didn’t detract from how the story developed and helped highlight what the characters were going through. Overall, great read!

Lara and Knox came together by chance and gave them more than what they were looking for. She needed inspiration and he felt he was missing something even doing what he loves to do. It was a great story and the connection between them was off the charts. I loved the chemistry between these two and the formation of lasting love. You are going to love it as much as I did.

This was a fun and steamy series opener and it brought together artist Lara and blacksmith Knox. She thought to surprise her friend with a visit but runs out of gas and needs a rescue. Enter Knox, who instantly feels a strong connection to her. These two act on their chemistry but the suddenness of it sends Lara in a panic back home. Knox follows to try and get the HEA of his dreams. Expect a hot one when you dive into this speedy romance ;D
