Alone, pregnant and running from monsters...

I thought I knew what I was signing up for at Prometheus labs. A living wage salary in return for terrible hours, appalling working conditions and the occasional medical trial to give me a nice end of month boost in funds.

I never expected to end up pregnant and transported to a completely different world, where gargoyles taunt me and my life is immeasurably worse.

Until they show up.

Two alpha gargoyles, granite gods of males, along with a gargoyle knight who could charm the birds from the trees. They never expected to find me, and now they're claiming me, and my unborn child for themselves.

I'm not ready to surrender anything, but my treacherous body tells me otherwise. It needs the attention of all three gargoyles, over and over again.

But I'm not going to let them take my heart. Gargoyles have destroyed my life, and I have no reason to let them in, no matter they call me 'mate' and make every part of me sing like I belong to them.

I won't give in. And when I have my baby, I'm leaving.

Let them try to stop me.

Rock Fall is a stand alone gargoyle romance with three gorgeous gargoyles and one little (very) pregnant human. Get your hurt/comfort, enemies to lovers, fated mates, along with so many growls, purrs and tails. This book is guaranteed to turn up the heat in a monstrous way!

🦸🏼‍♀️ The Heroine: Andi

Andi thought she was just signing up for fertility trials to chip away at her student loans. A lab tech at Prometheus Labs, she never imagined her signature would become a sentence. When the nausea kicks in, so does the truth: she’s pregnant, and her boss, Dr. Nix, isn’t even human. Worse, he claims ownership of her and her unborn child. Drugged and betrayed, Andi is thrust into a brutal otherworld where gargoyles rule—and not the cuddly kind.

🦸🏻‍♂️ The Heroes: Sol, Riv, and Oscurr

In the shadowy town of Fang, where the lower world’s misfits gather, we meet Sol and Riv—two alpha gargoyles who defy tradition by being bonded mates. Scarred by human cruelty, they’re healing in their own ways. Sol is the strategist, haunted by a mysterious voice urging him toward conquest. Riv is all heart and fury, his emotions as volatile as his loyalty is fierce.

Then there’s Oscurr, a lone, starving gargoyle fleeing a life of servitude and abuse. He’s traded his roost’s humiliating loincloth for pants (small victories), but trust doesn’t come easy. When Sol and Riv find him drugged and vulnerable, they don’t just save him—they claim him. What begins as rescue becomes something deeper.

📚 Plot Dynamics

While Andi is imprisoned in a cruel gargoyle roost ruled by the sadistic Alkar—who claims to be the father of her child—Sol, Riv, and Oscurr are forging a bond of their own. Their paths converge in a tale that blends survival, vengeance, and the slow, painful rebuilding of trust. The emotional stakes rise as Andi, traumatized and mistrustful, is given the space to heal—and maybe even love again.

🌟 What Soared

• Emotional Patience: The gargoyles don’t rush Andi. After everything she’s endured, they let her come to terms with her new reality on her own terms. That grace felt earned and refreshing.
• Distinct Personalities: Each gargoyle stands out. Oscurr’s vulnerability and trauma are palpable. Sol’s protective intellect anchors the group. Riv’s emotional intensity—his quiet gestures like leaving flowers in Andi’s room—adds a tender, aching layer.
• Found Family Vibes: The trio’s dynamic, especially as they fold Oscurr into their bond, is messy, healing, and deeply compelling.

💔 What Fell Flat

• Too Much MM for My Taste: While I appreciate diverse relationships, the frequency and explicitness of the MM scenes didn’t align with my preferences. The constant internal monologues about bedroom desires felt excessive.
• Delayed Reveal: Sol’s inner voice—clearly a major plot thread—remains a mystery for too long. I wanted breadcrumbs earlier to stay invested in that arc.

🎙️ Narration Notes

Eva Cain delivers a standout performance—natural, emotive, and immersive. Jack Calihan’s deep voice suits the gargoyles well, though it skews a bit older than I prefer for romantic leads. Still, his character differentiation is solid, and the dual narration adds depth to the shifting POVs.

💬 Final Thoughts

This audiobook is a dark, twisty ride through betrayal, trauma, and unexpected bonds. It’s not for the faint of heart—especially if you’re squeamish about morally gray gargoyles or steamy MM dynamics—but if you’re craving a fantasy romance with grit, emotional healing, and a heroine who earns her power, this one might just sink its claws into you.

It was a fun read, a little emotional close to the ending but overall good!

Sol,Riv, Oscurr, and Andi were so great together. I will say there’s a bit more MM/MMM action but that’s bc Andi took awhile to come around to the whole them being her mate thing but i I love MM so it didn’t bother me. Pretty fast paced tho.

Andi is artificially inseminated without her knowledge in the beginning so she’s preg the whole book but gives birth towards the end.

I do wish there would’ve been more getting to know each other and less secrets. That would’ve helped everyone out.

Steam- 3.5/5 breeding kink, Mpreg towards the end, knotting,lots of dirty talk, milking.

Andi, Sol, Riv, and Oscurr

Andi, the research assistant, at Prometheus labs discovers herself pregnant. The only problem is, she hasn't had sex in over a year. Very quickly, he life take a turn for the worst and she is placed with a horrible group of gargoyles. This book has plenty of spice with absolutely loving mates.

meh

This one gets a meh from me…it was basically a mmm romance trying to be passed off as rh. Like they tossed the fmc in there as a 4th wheel. The alpha males definitely favored their male mate over the pregnant fmc they picked up. Then They just up and leave for something that reeks of a set up when she’s due to give birth…all of them not a one of them can stay. Why would Oscarr need to protect the big strong alpha men and leave the vulnerable in labor human with strangers. It didn’t feel like they really cared about her.

Disappointed. I thought from the book blurb that Andi was the main character. Not so. She’s secondary or third at best. She voices 25 of the 75 chapters.
I understand that this is a ménage with mm (not my favorite but when done well can be fabulous) but this was primarily an mmm with Andi thrown in a few times at the end.
That’s ok if it was marketed this was, then you’re coming into it with that understanding and then it’s a great mmm ménage with adventure. Just don’t pretend it’s something else.

🖤 “You belong to us, cupcake. Our sweet treat to be devoured, pleasured, and loved. Always loved, no matter what.”
~~~
Andi is absolutely amazing! She’s brave, resilient, smart, fiery and incredibly strong. Even more, I loved her fierceness and that she never hesitated to stand up for herself and the ones she loves, no matter who she was facing. And she’s also so caring and compassionate. Andi is a truly incredible woman and I loved her so, so much!
And then, we have the Castle Haleclaw roost! Let’s start first with Soldix and Rivak - two huge, dangerous, strong, lethal, powerful, dominant and drop-dead gorgeous alphas, who will stop at nothing to protect what’s theirs. And there’s also Oscurr - the irresistibly charming, sassy and kind gargoyle knight who you couldn’t help but adore and want to cuddle till the end of times. All three gargoyles were such magnificent males in their own ways and I adored every single thing about them!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Andi, Riv, Sol and Oscurr! Andi works for Prometheus Labs when she finds herself pregnant with a gargoyle baby and transported to a completely new world, where she spends months in misery and being mistreated, until she’s rescued by the Castle Haleclaw roost. And right just before that, Riv and Sol meet Oscurr when he most needed them. I loved those four together! I loved how they treated each other. And I loved how patient, kind and caring were Sol and Riv with the other two, giving them the time and space they needed to learn that not all gargoyles are the same and that they will protect what’s theirs no matter what. And all the endearing nicknames they gave Oscurr and Andi! 🫠 Even more, the spice! Ohhh, the spice was top-tier and absolutely panty-melting! Those gargoyles are quite creative when it comes to mating and I couldn’t get enough of the passionate moments they shared together and with Andi. Each one of the four has been through so much, but they were so perfect for each other. And after everything Andi, Riv, Sol and Oscurr went through, they more than deserved to find happiness, family and forever love together.
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! There’s a lot for Castle Haleclaw roost to deal with - curses, demons, insistent voices, Ulkaar, the Gargoyle Council and, no other than, the King Under the Hill himself. With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end, excited to see how everything will be resolved.
Overall, the story is another brilliant addition to the series! It’s filled with twists, danger, suspense, fast-paced action, humor, smoking-hot passion and incredible characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every page of it!
Good
Andi, Oscurr, Soldix, and Rivak
She thought that it was a simple test, but when Andi discovers that her boss at Prometheus actually arranged for her to get pregnant, she never dreamed that it would be with a gargoyle, or that she would be taken to the Between and held at the mercy of a castle full of gargoyles…
Oscurr was abused and beaten by the gargoyle calling himself his alpha, so he escaped, and attempted to live alone on the streets.
First Rivak rescued Oscurr, when he and his mate Soldix discovered him in an alley.
Then they rescue Andi, and suddenly this alpha duo find themselves in a roost of four (and one on the way).
Unfortunately, life is never quite that easy…
Note: we met Andi, rather inauspiciously, in Ivy’s book (book two of this series). The background story, is a continuation of the events mentioned in books one and two, though this book could be read as a standalone, it’s probably best if read as the series.
Andi earns her redemption in this book; she wasn’t the nicest person in Ivy’s story, but she definitely pays for that!
She’s fortunate to run across the unusual alpha pair, and their newly acquired third, and it’s where she learns just how nice gargoyles can really be!
This leads to all kinds of steamy (and impossible) shenanigans, in this fun fantasy/monster romance.
This book has a truckload of tropes and content warnings on the author’s webpage, and if you have triggers, then you’ll want to check them out; this book is super spicy, so consider yourself warned.
We don’t see a lot of progress on the Grimes front in this book, but we do see some rather satisfying issues regarding some other “baddies” we’ve met in previous books, who just so happened to be in this one too!
A fun, fantasy romp, this is for the romance lovers who enjoy a steamy read with all the tropes a monster mate could want; so monster romance, PNR, RH and MM/MMMF fans will enjoy.
Jacks does not disappoint with this new book of the Monster Prey Mates series!
It's a little bit of a whirlwind with poor Andi being knocked up unexpectedly. I was shocked from the get go with that information! This book is a great continuation of the story from the first two books though.
Then we get to our trio of gargoyles, starting with Soldix and Rivak. I would love to be the jelly between them two. Unfortunately for me and luckily for Oscurr, the small gargoyle gets there first and becomes the cheese of that meat sandwich. I love how gargoyles immediately know who is supposed to be theirs though, like in their nest and that. It makes bonding with them easier, I'm sure, but it also gives them the ability to be protective without being overwhelming in a new relationship because it's almost expected.
Speaking of Oscurr, he is a cinnamon roll of a gargoyle that I want to cuddle. Anyone else?
My favorite thing of the book is how calm, gentle, and patient Soldix and Rivak are with Andi. They give her the necessary space she needs, especially since she's gone through a LOT in the last eight months or so. I'm sure it was hard to not do anything for her, too, especially since they knew what she needed before she did.
I don't want to give anything away, but I did almost cry and want to stop reading. Cause characters dying does that to me! But it's 100% worth the read and I promise you'll enjoy it. These books are typically fast paced, but you still get an amazing story with it.
Plus, it is definitely a 5/5 spice. <3
Monster Prey Mates Series :
✅ 1. STONE COLD - 3 ⭐⭐⭐
If you don't mind your MMFM connection, there will be a story for you.
This is not my fairy tale, but if you skip it and focus on the other threads of the story, you can enjoy reading. The story is well led, the world is created and that's why I will read the others, because I wonder what the other two author has prepared in the other two.
I recommend to fans of the Dark Paranormal Action Romance genre and the author's work 😉
✅ 2. HARD NIGHT - 3 ⭐⭐⭐
This story was a bit better than the previous one, but still not my cup of tea
I didn't like these MMFM combinations. But there are definitely fans of such experiences, so I recommend it to them. Enjoy reading.
✅ 3. ROCK FALL - 3 ⭐⭐⭐
A surprising ending to the story, I didn't see that coming 😅
The MMFM connection is still not my cup of tea, but I still recommend the entire series to fans of Dark Paranormal Action Romance and the Author's work. It's an interesting reading experience that will be hard to forget 😁
I was lost in this story and had no interest in being found. I am amazed at how Jacks, keeps coming up with different dynamics for each Gargoyle Roost. I have followed this series from the start, and this gave me an aspect I didnt know I needed, but I am HERE for the dual alpha's and how they built their roost. the fmc being pregnant was a bonus and if Jacks were a nicer author, they would have given us more scenes like the epilogue! If you are looking for a super steamy, MMMF, Gargoyle to human romance, with a pregnant female lead and many other naughty tidbits, that you wont be able to put down... Look no further. Though I loved all the steamy love making between all of the characters, this one pulled at my heart strings in a major way. Though it can stand alone, there is a reoccurring storyline that stretches through the previous two books in the series. Please don't let this be the last one, I need another roost to swoon for.
Another naughty, but incredibly sweet, roost is created in this wonderful book. Riv and Sol find Oscurr and Andi under harsh circumstances. Riv and Sol instantly know these two abused souls are their fated mates and belong to them. Sol and Riv are the kindest cinnamon-roll Alphas, and their patience and kindness were everything! Oscurr was a total cuddle bug, and Andi was so brave! I loved how Sol called Oscurr Sugar and Andi Cupcake. I completely fell in love with these characters! It was a different enemy and different challenges than the prior roosts faced, but no less dangerous, and luckily, their friends, the Featherstone roost, helped them face their battles. I cried, I laughed, and I was totally immersed in this story, and it did not disappoint!! I need more roosts in my reading future!
One of the main themes in this book seems to be finding a family aka roost in the most unlikely of places with the most unconventional beings.
I always have a favorite gargoyle in each of these books and my favorite in this book was one of the alphas, Rivak. Who was sure about their newest gargoyle mate and human female. I liked his decisiveness over that and how he basically bowled over the other alpha, Soldix. I really enjoyed Rivak and Soldix’s power exchange and how they basically took turns with who was in charge. The pregnant human and the little breeder gargoyle…so cute. I loved how the alphas took care of them and gave them everything they could.
The conflict…so good.I really liked how this roost got their Happily Ever After.
I love this series…
This book flows on from the other two, taking about the other tower that is alluded to in the other books. In this one though the FL is impregnated, somehow, by all the sperm of the roost, and it takes so the knot isn’t needed as in the previous books ??? and is sent to the underworld as a slave as they want the baby. They don’t really elaborate on why they want the baby, how she is pregnant before them all being mates, and there is this thing that they have to mate as she gives birth? And one of the male gargoyles can also get pregnant, which is not mentioned as a possibility in the other books. I didn’t like this one as much as the first one.
Love these Gargoyles...
They are tall, dark, handsome, and deadly. I know that sounds weird since they are stone and have horns and long tails, but they are soooo nice to the ones they love. Sol and Riv have taken in Oscurr, a younger gargoyle and one who has been abused and injured. Then there's pregnant Andi, a gorgeous human. When they come upon her, they see she needs saving. This is a book that will definitely lure you in. Entertaining to the last word. I really would like to meet these handsome, sweet gargoyles, except when they get angry. Another great story by HB Jacks.
Andi didn't fully understand
Andi was inside her job signing what she thought was just a standard testing. She was artificially inseminated without her knowledge. Her boss what she found for some years now, turns out to be a demon. She was forced into a realm that she had no idea about, and brought into a Gargoyle roost.
Oscurr was in the same roost, but didn't know about her. They were kept separated and knew nothing about each other. Oscurr managed to escape. Sol and Riv discovered him in an alley looking for food. They both knew he was there's.
This is there story.
another lovely roost
HB Jacks you did it again and I never want it to end. I get this comfort homey feeling every time I read a new book in this series. And don’t get me started on the spicy scenes ugh just when I thought my mind couldn’t of been taken away again 😏😏 you just hit the spot with your writing. I hope this isn’t the end of your gargoyles heheh
The main female character Andi finds herself unexpectedly pregnant and stolen away after working for the lab and signing up for a test subject.
Riv and Sol are two alpha males who are part of the nest and healing from their capture at the hands of humans when they run into Oscurr and go to the jeep to extract revenge for how he was treated and run into a very pregnant Andi. They are all so sweet and kind to her as they wait for her to join them in their roost and become a whole. I absolutely loved this increment in the series and we even get to see another past roost that I loved towards the end of the this book. Spice was high as usual, and I cannot wait for the next in this series!
This is such a captivating read. One unlucky heroine, or maybe she is lucky when she is worshipped in every sense of the word by three amazing gargoyles. There certainly was never a dull moment in their nest.
Another brilliant intoxicating read. 🔥🔥💜
So much fun! Excellent world building yet again. I thoroughly enjoy this series. The steam is off the charts, Riv, Sol, Oscurr and Andi are interesting and entertaining. Highly recommend if you are a fan of MMMF pairings in monster romance.
First gargoyle read and it was very interesting. Love how they found their roost when they thought they never would. Still not big on the MM and mpreg aspect but for this it works.
